What Happened To Eric Cantu?

Cop shoots teen as he was eating and attempting to flee.

The idiot police chief Bill McManus. I remember him from his three years working as Dayton, Ohio's police chief. He was an idiot and incompetent police leader.

Eric Cantu is on life support and it does not look good. The 17-year old was sitting in his vehicle when this dirty cop shot him at point blank range. Now this dirty cop is being charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

This happened a week ago and it is getting national attention.

The former cop was in his probationary period when he was responding to a disturbance at a San Antonio McDonald's. He made a fucked up assumption that a vehicle sitting in the parking lot was stolen. He immediately opened the door and ordered Cantu to get out of the vehicle.

Cantu puts the vehicle in reserve and immediately this dirty cop fires into the vehicle striking the teen.

When Cantu was leaving the parking lot, the cop still fired upon him. Thanks to the body camera, the cop was immediately fired out of the cannon two days after the shooting.

“As the officer attempted to gather information from witnesses, he noticed a vehicle that had evaded him the day before as the officer attempted a stop because the registered license plate did not match the actual vehicle,” Capt. Alyssa Campos, the department’s training commander, said in a video statement.

The car, driven by Cantu, was not the subject of the disturbance call, Campos said.

Now Bexar County prosecutors are looking at the officer's training and how a bad cop managed to be on the force. We expect the police union to defend the cop. We expect many on the far right will say that Cantu should have complied, never should have fled and he looked suspicious anyway. Some may claim he is an illegal. It is going to be a word vomit of far right noise.

The suspect posted bail.

“The former officer’s actions are indefensible and do not align with our training, tactics and procedures,” Chief William McManus said. “As such, I terminated him. I will withhold further comment as this incident is still under investigation.”

McManus says the incident is "isolated."

"This was a failure for one individual police officer. It had nothing to do with our policies. Our policies do not allow that. Our training does not teach that," McManus told a news conference to announce the charges.

"There is no question in anybody's mind looking at that video that the shooting is not justified," McManus said.

The dirty cop posted a portion of his $2.5 million get out free card.

A passenger riding with Cantu was not injured. However, he is shaken by the incident.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence, monkeypox and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how gun reform is taking away your rights to own firearms.

I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth.

When you hear folks say "gun rights," what they really mean is that its white privilege. This good guy with a gun nonsense has to end. The cops didn't do nothing when children were shot inside a school. A security guard was shot dead trying to protect shoppers. A cop accidentally shot his own. The good guy who tried to stop a bad guy is outgunned and a part of the rule #3.

Remember #3 means: The "good guy with a gun" better be prepared to die if they want to stop a shooter.

I don't want to hear folks say masks and vaccine mandates impede their freedoms. It prevents a deadly outbreak from spreading. If you want to die from the coronavirus, that's on you. We lost over 1 million people from the coronavirus.

I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. Cause a bullet does not have eyes and it's always likely gonna hit a target. These folks seem to not get it. These incidents are a tragic part of American history. Thoughts and prayers and your heart going out to the victims is not enough. It quite frankly is an insult. I am also tired of scapegoating Black on Black crime, Chicago, Baltimore and Democratic mayors for the nation's obsession to be numb to gun violence. You pretty much enable this nonsense by deflecting. I am getting fucking tired of white nationalists and their enablers of color complaining about the lack of Black fathers. The fathers are either killed by gun violence, police violence, COVID-19, heart diseases, diabetes, freak accidents and just being Black in America.

President Joe Biden is trying to curb gun violence. However, he has no support from Republicans. Most Democrats and America are for gun control measures. However the two Democrats in the Senate refuse to change the filibuster rules and its holding us back.

The National Rifle Association is always pushing against it. They will not relinquish from the narrative that guns are not saving lives. The Republicans aided by a fickle junk food media are openly encouraging anarchy and disruption in a desperate attempt for the Republicans to win back Congress and the White House. These agitators are calling for Biden to curb crime but will not help him. They want more guns on the street. It makes no sense.

So in closing, expect more.
