Over 36 tornadoes touched down in the Midwest and Southeast. States affected include Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Oklahoma and Ohio.

A catastrophic tornado tore through Southwestern Kentucky town. It has killed over 100 people. The devastation is bad. Gov. Andy Beshear, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Obstructionist Leader Karen McConnell (R-KY), Sen. Karen Paul (R-KY), Rep. Karen Comer, Jr. (R-KY) and the five other U.S. Representatives were notified.

Now I wonder if these Republican asshats would vote for the Build Back Better bill?

Paul and McConnell are standing in the way of passing the infrastructure bill that includes reducing climate change. Many of these Republicans refuse to acknowledge climate change is real.

Paul will still vote against funding his own state. He is by far the worst legislator in the country.

Knowing now a major disaster hits a Republican state and the two main obstructionists senators and five House members' refusal to invest in infrastructure now finally comes to head. 

A December tornado destroys a town of Mayfield, Kentucky. The governor estimates over 100 people are killed.

A possible EF-4 or possibly EF-5 tornado destroyed the heart of the town.

The tornado's path was over 200 miles.

Mayfield is located in Southwestern Kentucky. Interstate 69 (The Purchase Parkway) travels through that town.

An Amazon facility was damaged in Edwardsville, Illinois. At least one person is confirmed dead from the tornado damage. Gov. J.B. Pritzker was notified about the tornado damage.

Arkansas tornadoes ripped through the northern section of the state. There was a nursing home that was destroyed and five people are confirmed dead. Gov. Karen Hutchinson was notified about the damages.

We gonna need some lawmakers who will acknowledge climate change. We gonna need lawmakers who will pass laws to strengthen the safety net. We gonna need lawmakers who will do more than offer thoughts and prayers to tragedies.

Another hip-hop artist is slain by gun violence. The rap community lost Young Dolph, now we're mourning the loss of Slim 400. The Compton based rapper was shot and killed shortly after paying tribute to Dolph.

The shooting occurred hours after the hip-hop artist shared a tribute to Dolph who was killed in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Two terrorist ambushed him outside Makeda's Cookies, a well-known bakery in the city.

The rapper was trying to get food for his girlfriend and his children when two terrorist exited a luxury car and shot high powered firearms into the bakery. Dolph was shot seven times and died at the scene.

Many in the hip-hop community are mourning the loss. Many finger Yo Gotti and Blac Youngsta as the culprits. However, the FBI and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will assist in the Memphis Police and Shelby County Sheriff in determining who were responsible for the attack.

Slim 400 (born Vincent Cohran) was shot around 7:50pm along the 8600 block of 7th Avenue in Inglewood, California.

Inglewood Police patrolling the neighborhood heard gunshots. The shot spotter determined the area and they found Slim 400 "down on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound," according to a spokesman for the Inglewood Police Department.

Emergency aid was given to the entertainer and he was taken by Los Angeles Fire Department and Rescue to a local hospital, where he died.

As of today, there are no arrest made in the shooting death of Slim 400. 

He and Dolph had collaborated in the past. There's a song called "Shake Back."

Slim 400 and Dolph were victims of gun violence in the past. They were both shot but survived their injuries at the time.

Andrew Cuomo may be gone but not out. Trust me, he would find ways to ensure Letitia James was defeated if she became the nominee for New York governor. She would be a sure defeat. I already see the writing on the wall. She burnt bridges with the Democrats and of course Cuomo. 

Despite the controversy, Cuomo would have won a fourth term. He had better job approval despite the noise. He is still facing criminal charges for sexual abuse and lying to investigators and will have a day in court.

His brother Chris Cuomo was unceremoniously fired out the cannon at CNN when James revealed that he had more impact in the controversy.

So instead of her sacrificial lamb bid for governor, she is going to run again for Attorney General of New York. Oh, she is going to pursue the former president's deposition in regards to his company's reckless handling of money.

"I have come to the conclusion that I must continue my work as attorney general," James said in a surprise announcement Thursday. "There are a number of important investigations and cases that are underway, and I intend to finish the job."

James had overseen the investigation into sexual harassment allegations against former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who claimed the investigation was politically motivated.

A Siena College poll released this week showed that Gov. Kathy Hochul is the front-runner in the race, with support from 36% of New York Democrats. James was second in the poll, at 18%.

New York City Advocate Jumaane Williams was at 10% in the Siena poll, with 6% backing U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who is mulling a bid for governor, also grabbed 6% support. 

Nearly a quarter (24%) of those Democrats questioned said they were undecided on whom they would support in the June 28 primary, or said they’d back another candidate.

James, who was seeking to become the first Black female governor in the nation's history, has also taken on the National Rifle Association (NRA) and is probing Washed Up 45's company dealings. 

She is subpoenaing the former president to testify as part of her civil fraud investigation, the Washington Post reported Thursday.

Republicans are trying to gerrymander their way back to Congress. With minorities counting as 69% of the growing population, white population for the first time has not increased.

The pandemic so far has killed over 810,000 Americans. We have extremism on the rise in the country.

Attorney General Merrick Garland had announced on this week that the U.S. Justice Department is suing Texas and other states over their congressional maps which could be unfair to constituents of color.

Minorities in Texas has grown significantly. Hispanic Americans make up 40% of the state's population and Texas legislature approved maps that would split districts or consolidate districts. They also are trying to incorporate rural areas into normally Democratic leaning areas to make it more Republican.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced it has filed a lawsuit under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act against the State of Texas and the Texas Secretary of State, challenging the State’s redistricting plans for the Texas congressional delegation and the Texas House of Representatives. 

“Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act requires that state voting laws – including laws that draw electoral maps – provide eligible voters with an equal opportunity to participate in the democratic process and elect representatives of their choosing,” said Garland. “The complaint we filed today alleges that Texas has violated Section 2 by creating redistricting plans that deny or abridge the rights of Latino and Black voters to vote on account of their race, color or membership in a language minority group.”

The United States’ complaint contends that Texas’ redistricting plan for its congressional delegation violates Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act because it has the discriminatory purpose of denying or abridging the right to vote on account of race, color or membership in a language minority group in that it deliberately minimizes the voting strength of minority communities. The lawsuit also claims that Texas violated Section 2 because its congressional redistricting plan has the discriminatory result of leading to an inequality in the opportunities for minority voters to participate in the political process and to elect representatives of their choice.

The United States’ complaint further contends that Texas’ State House redistricting plan violates Section 2 because it results in minority voters having less opportunity than other citizens to participate in the political process and elect legislators of their choice.

The United States’ complaint asks the court to prohibit Texas from conducting elections under the challenged plans and asks the court to order Texas to devise and implement new plans that comply with Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. The complaint also asks the court to establish interim plans pending a lawful state redistricting.

On Sept. 1, the department issued guidance under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, for redistricting and methods of electing government bodies.

Florida, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York and Wisconsin are likely going to face lawsuits over their congressional maps. Whereas California, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia and Illinois are losing districts, Montana, Texas, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina and Oregon will gain seats. Texas being the only state that gains two will make the Republicans more opportunistic to winning back Congress.

The trial of the washed up entertainer has come to an end. The 39-year old suspect was convicted of disorderly conduct and filing a false police report. The suspect lied about the 2019 racist attack. 

The two men who helped the suspect in his attack testified against him. They said he paid them money to make this attack. The suspect was hoping to get a bigger role on Fox's Empire.

The suspect conviction Thursday for lying to police about a racist, homophobic attack came nearly three years after his report of a horrifying hate crime quickly became part of a polarized political landscape, with people — including the president of the United States — weighing in from all over.

A prosecutor said the verdict was “a resounding message by the jury that the suspect did exactly what we said he did” — recruit two brothers to fake an attack so it could be recorded by a surveillance camera and posted on social media for publicity.

The brothers testified that the former “Empire” actor paid them $3,500 for the hoax and gave them lines to yell, including about “MAGA country,” an apparent reference to then-Washed Up 45’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.

The report made headlines around the world and prompted a massive manhunt in Chicago, with roughly two dozen police joining the investigation. It also drew criticism from Trump, who called the police department’s handling of the case “an absolute embarrassment to our country.”

“Not only did [the suspect] lie to the police and wreak havoc here in the city for weeks on end for no reason whatsoever, but then he compounded the problem by lying under oath to a jury,” special prosecutor Dan Webb said after Thursday’s verdict.

The suspect is Black and gay, maintained throughout the nearly three-year legal battle that he was attacked in downtown Chicago in January 2019 by people who yelled racist and anti-gay slurs and put a noose around his neck.

His attorney declared the suspect’s innocence again Thursday after the jury found him guilty on five of six counts of disorderly conduct for lying to police. Nenye Uche said the convicted suspect would appeal the conviction, and is “100% confident” his name will be cleared by an appellate court.

“Unfortunately we were facing an uphill battle where Jussie was already tried and convicted in the media and then we had to somehow get the jury to forget or unsee all the news stories that they had been hearing that were negative for the last three years,” Uche told reporters after the verdict.

The jury convicted the 39-year-old on five counts of disorderly conduct — for each separate time he was charged with lying to police in the days after the alleged attack. He was acquitted on a sixth count, of lying to a detective in mid-February, weeks after the suspect said he was attacked.

He kept to the script and the jury saw through it.

The suspect stood and faced the jury, showing no visible reaction as the verdict was read. He and his family later left the courthouse without comment.

Judge James Linn set a post-trial hearing for Jan. 27, and said he would schedule the suspect’s sentencing at a later date. Disorderly conduct is a class 4 felony that carries a prison sentence of up to three years, but experts have said if convicted, the suspect would likely be placed on probation and ordered to perform community service.

The damage to his personal and professional life may be more severe. The suspect lost his role on the TV program “Empire,” which was filmed in Chicago, after prosecutors said the alleged attack was a hoax, and he told jurors earlier this week, “I’ve lost my livelihood.”

The jury deliberated for just over nine hours Wednesday and Thursday after a roughly one-week trial.

The suspect testified that he was the victim of a real hate crime, telling jurors “there was no hoax.” He called the brothers who testified against him “liars” and said the $3,500 check he wrote them was for meal and workout plans.

His attorneys argued that the brothers attacked the actor because they are homophobic and didn’t like “who he was.” They also alleged the brothers made up the story about the attack being staged to get money from the suspect, and that they said they wouldn’t testify against him if the suspect paid them each $1 million.

Asked Thursday if the suspect could be charged with perjury for lying on the witness stand, Webb said perjury charges “generally” don’t happen after a defendant is convicted, but that it was unclear what would happen in the suspect’s case.

He also said the Chicago Police Department was vindicated by the jury’s verdict.

“A lot of times people say, ‘Well, police officers sweep things under the rug.’ This police department responded by absolutely testifying in this trial that they took it seriously,” Webb said. “They believed he was a victim of a crime and they worked so hard for the next three weeks.”

But Uche said Chicago police should have investigated the case “much more,” and that there were some witnesses who were never interviewed.

He called the jury’s split verdict “inconsistent,” saying it made no sense for the suspect to be convicted of five counts but not the sixth charge, since “everything stems from one incident.”

An attorney for Abimbola and Olabingo Osundairo, the brothers who testified against the suspect, said her clients “could not be more thrilled and pleased with the results.”

And while I agree that this washed up entertainer is getting dragged respectfully by both the left and the right, the far-right should not be celebrating knowing they supported a white nationalist who murdered two people.

A white nationalist who left his own state to cause trouble in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Had the washed up celebrity admitted to the actions and took responsibility for staging the event, they would not have given him a damn trial in the first place.

A white terrorist who openly cracked open a Coors Light while storming the U.S. Capitol is arrested.

The Department of Justice unsealed charges on Wednesday against a defendant who allegedly stormed the U.S. Capitol with a Coors on Jan. 6.

The FBI arrested the suspect on Wednesday on “two misdemeanor counts of entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct,” according to the NBC affiliate in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, KXAS-TV.

The terrorist couldn’t be reached for comment and his attorney’s name was not listed in court records.

According to the criminal complaint, the terorrist bragged on Facebook posts about going inside the Capitol during the riot.

“I PRAY TO GOD THAT NOBODY DOES ANY DAMAGE TO THE STUFF IN HERE, ‘CAUSE I’M NOT DOWN WITH THAT,” The terrorist wrote in all capital letters. “BUT I’M KIND OF, KIND OF PROUD OF THE PEOPLE THAT STOOD UP AND SAID YOU KNOW WHAT? ENOUGH. YOU DON’T SEE PEOPLE SPRAY PAINTING SHIT OR BURNING SHIT DOWN. IT’S REALLY KIND OF COOL. I’M GLAD I CAME.”

Several photos of him with a beer in his hand were included in the Department of Justice's complaint. Additional evidence presented by the DOJ can be seen in the complaint below.

“I DON’T ALWAYS STORM THE CAPITOL OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. BUT WHEN I DO, I PREFER COORS LIGHT,” he wrote on Facebook, according to the document.

The terrorist is the owner of a Keller business known as Dent Texas, the FBI said. Dent Texas repairs damaged vehicles.

This terrorist is the 33rd Capitol rioter arrested by the Dallas FBI office, which covers the northern part of Texas.

The suspect could face up to two to ten years in federal time out. The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
