The conspiracy theorist lawmaker is resigning to join TRUTH. The far-right's notable ally in the QAnon conspiracy and Hillary Clinton emails and Hunter Biden's laptop is leaving his Fresno constituents for Florida and a media company invested in undermining democracy.
Rep. Karen Nunes of California announced Monday he'll leave the House in the coming weeks to become CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group. The Republican announces his resignation today.
"I'm writing to let you know I've decided to pursue this opportunity, and therefore I will be leaving the House of Representatives at the end of 2021," Nunes said in a letter to his constituents.
Moments after his statement, the Trump Media & Technology Group released its own saying Nunes would be its chief executive officer.
Nunes, who faced the threat of a more-Democratic district through redistricting ahead of next year's midterms, is a close ally of former Washed Up 45. He previously served as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee when Republicans were in the majority, during which he led efforts among the former president's allies to discredit the FBI's Russia investigation and Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe.
Nunes was also an outspoken defender of the former president during his first impeachment, and the then-President awarded Nunes the Medal of Freedom in January.
Washed Up 45 praised Nunes in the media group's statement, calling him "a fighter and a leader."
"He will make an excellent CEO of TMTG," Trump said.
Nunes' role as an attack dog against the Russia probe raised his popularity among the former president's supporters, and he became a top fundraiser in the House GOP conference as he gained stature on the right.
Rep. Karen Stefanik (R-NY), the House GOP conference chair and third ranking House Republican, congratulated Nunes, tweeting, "[He] had a spine of steel and an unyielding commitment to fighting for the truth and the Constitution as Chairman and Republican Leader of the House Intelligence Committee. America is forever grateful."

I heard about this on Wednesday that a famous philanthropist's wife was killed in a home invasion.
The Los Angeles Times had gave a brief report about incident and arrest.
The legendary Clarence Avant lost his wife to a deadly home invasion where a man entered the home and shot her dead. The suspect is caught and is facing charges.
Jacqueline Avant was fatally shot inside her home and it has sparked outrage at the suspect and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department. The police were aware of these spikes in home robbery. Given that one entertainer by the name of Pop Smoke died from a home invasion.
Officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 1100 block of Maytor Place shortly before 2:30 a.m., according to Lt. Giovanni Trejo of the Beverly Hills Police Department. They found Avant, 81, with a gunshot wound.
She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where she later died, Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook said during a news conference Wednesday.
It is too soon to classify the incident as a home invasion or a follow-home robbery, Stainbrook said, but he did not think it was a “random attack.”
Her husband is a legendary figure in the music industry, working with or advising such stars as Jimmy Smith, Lalo Schifrin, Babyface, Bill Withers, Sixto Rodriguez, the SOS Band and Cherrelle.
Known as the “Black Godfather,” he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
CBS News reported that the suspect, 29 is responsible for fatally shooting the philanthropist in her home in the wealthy neighborhood of Trousdale early Wednesday. The suspect has an extensive criminal record and was out on parole, according to police.
Just one hour after Avant was killed, police responded to another shooting at a home in nearby Hollywood, where they located the suspect.
"He was in the house and collecting property and then after that somehow discharged a weapon and apparently shot himself in the foot," said Blake Chow, LAPD's deputy chief. "Somewhere in the night, we had an astute watch commander of Hollywood that started to put two and two together and reached out to Beverly Hills, and there were some similarities."
Those similarities included the getaway vehicle that was caught on surveillance video heading toward Hollywood and an AR-15-style rifle found at the second scene that detectives believe was used to kill Avant.
The suspect accidently shot himself as he was trying to enter a property. So now he's in the hospital being treated for his injuries. He will be arraigned in court by the end of the week.
Detectives haven't had a chance to talk with the suspect and don't have a motive for the killing.
On Thursday, the family of the philanthropist and former runway model expressed gratitude to law enforcement and said in a statement, "Now let justice be served."
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Karen Logan has been noticeably absent from the airwaves this week, having made zero appearances since.

Looking into some immediately prior appearances, we found that for the week of November 21 to 27, Logan was on that Sunday on Fox & Friends, and that Friday on The Faulkner Focus. That week the network also aired the Fox Nation “Patriot Awards” show, where Logan was a presenter.
The previous week, Logan was on with Karen Gowdy, "Softball" Hannity, Fox & Friends, Fox News Primetime, The Five, and America’s Newsroom with Karen Hemmer and Karen Perino, where she spoke with Karen Smith about terror and promoted her special on Fox Nation. So she regularly appears both on the network’s opinion shows and the dayside news programs.
While Logan is neither a contributor nor host on Fox, like many Fox Nation personalities she is on the network a lot. Or rather, she usually is. She wasn’t in the days following the Mengele comments.

Former Kansas senator and three time Republican candidate and one time nominee for president Bob Dole passed away at the age of 98. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Laura Kelly, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Karen McConnell (R-KY), Sen. Karen Marshall (R-KS), Sen. Karen Moran (R-KS) and U.S. Representatives of the Kansas delegation were notified of his passing. Dole is survived by his wife, former Sen. Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina, and daughter Robin Dole.
Robert Joseph Dole was an American politician and attorney who represented the state of Kansas as a U.S Senator. He was a Republican who became the Senate Majority Leader when the Republican Revolution took place.
He was a senator from 1969 until 1996. He was the Republican Leader of the United States during the final 11 years of his tenure, including three nonconsecutive years as Senate Majority Leader. Prior to his 27 years in the Senate, he served in the United States House of Representatives from 1961 to 1969. Dole was also the Republican presidential nominee in 1996 election and the vice presidential nominee in the 1976 presidential election.
Born and raised in Russell, Kansas, Dole was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a second lieutenant in the Army's 10th Mountain Division. He was engaged in combat near Castel d'Aiano in the Apennine Mountains in Bologna, Italy. He was seriously injured by a German shell that struck his upper back and right arm, shattering his collarbone and part of his spine.
Dole was paralyzed from the neck down and transported to a military hospital in Kansas. He was expected to die from his injuries. But after recovering from his injuries he earned two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star with "V" Device and honored in Battle Creek, Michigan along with two fellow World War Veterans, Philip Hart and Daniel Inouye as members of a federal building complex.
"Senator Robert Joseph Dole died early this morning in his sleep. At his death, at age 98, he had served the United States of America faithfully for 79 years," according to a statement from his family.
He had announced in February that he was being treated for advanced lung cancer. President Joe Biden visited Dole shortly after learning of the diagnosis.
Biden on Sunday released a statement mourning Dole.
"Bob was an American statesman like few in our history. A war hero and among the greatest of the Greatest Generation. And to me, he was also a friend whom I could look to for trusted guidance, or a humorous line at just the right moment to settle frayed nerves," Biden said. "I will miss my friend. But I am grateful for the times we shared, and for the friendship Jill and I and our family have built with Liddy and the entire Dole family."
Biden on Sunday evening ordered that flags at the White House and other public buildings and facilities be flown at half-staff in honor of Dole, according to a proclamation released by the White House.
Early in his Senate career, he was labeled a "hatchet man" by his critics and drew national attention for his vehement defense of President Richard Nixon throughout the Watergate scandal. He considered Nixon a friend and a mentor -- later eulogizing Nixon at his funeral in 1994 as the "most durable public figure of our time." In a notable departure from his sour public image, he choked up at the end of his remarks.
But in taking up the mantle of GOP leader in the Senate, Dole's reputation became that of a whip smart lawmaker and a tough negotiator willing to work across the aisle with Democrats on issues such as Social Security reform, the Americans with Disabilities Act and landmark nutrition legislation.
"By all rights, he and I should have had a lousy relationship," former Democratic Sen. Tom Daschle, who was the Senate's top Democrat during Dole's second stint as majority leader, said in a 2000 speech. "The fact that we did not was due to Bob Dole -- to his civility, to his pragmatism, to his quick wit and self-effacing humor, and to his love of this country and to this United States Senate. His sense of fairness and decency is a standard for which everyone in public life should aim."

In his book "What It Takes" about the 1988 election, journalist Richard Ben Cramer described Dole as a Senate leader who was always ready with a joke and a greeting and was "never more cheerful, more at peace, than he was in the wee hours, when a deal was going down and he was waiting for someone to crack, while he drank a milkshake and told old stories in the Senate dining room."
In 1996, he resigned from the Senate as the chamber's then-longest serving GOP leader to focus on running for the White House, quipping it was either "the White House or home." He entered the race as the front-runner and fended off an early challenge from his right from Pat Buchanan to secure the nomination, then selected former congressman and supply-side economics champion Jack Kemp as his running mate.
But he lost the election handily to incumbent President Bill Clinton, who at the time was riding a strong economy and drew a contrast between his image as a Baby Boomer and the 73-year-old Dole, who was portrayed as old and out of touch.
It was the last of Dole's bids for the White House. His first, in 1980, gained little traction, but his second, in 1988, initially provided a strong challenge to eventual nominee George H.W. Bush after Dole won the Iowa caucuses. The race between the two men eventually turned nasty, culminating with Dole testily telling Bush in a live television moment on the night he lost the New Hampshire primary, "Stop lying about my record."
The rivalry between the two men would fade over time; in 2018, when Bush laid in state at the Capitol Rotunda, Dole was helped to his feet from his wheelchair to salute his one-time opponent.
Despite never winning election as either president or vice president, Dole's long career on the national stage and as a leader of the Republican establishment is abundantly clear in one piece of party history: 14 GOP presidential tickets from 1952 to 2004 (all of them except for 1964) included either Dole, Richard Nixon, George H.W. Bush or George W. Bush.
Dole also had a notably warm personal relationship with Clinton, who told the audience at their first presidential debate, "You can probably tell we like each other."
A few months after his loss to Clinton, Dole would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his service in World War II and Congress from his former rival and flashed his sense of humor.
"I, Robert J. Dole, do solemnly swear ..." he quipped during the ceremony, pretending to take the oath of office. "Sorry, wrong speech. But I had a dream that I would be here this week, receiving something from the president, but I thought it would be the front door key."
Clinton and Dole later co-chaired a scholarship fund that initially raised over $100 million for families of those killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks and subsequently teamed up for a weekly debate segment on CBS News' "60 Minutes."
He also demonstrated his ability to take a joke when he appeared on "Saturday Night Live" in 1996 following his loss alongside Norm MacDonald, who had mercilessly lampooned him during the election.
As he put it to NBC in 2005, humor is needed in Washington "to break the tension sometimes and you can do it with just -- without offending anybody."

The chief spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris is leaving at the end of the year.
Symone D. Sanders is expected to leave the White House at the end of the year, according to five administration officials familiar with the matter.
Sanders who started as an advisor to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) 2016 presidential run. She was a commentator on CNN and ABC. In 2020, she was one of the most prominent members of Joe Biden's presidential campaign in 2020. She was appointed to be the special advisor and senior spokeswoman for the vice president.
It was not immediately clear where Sanders is heading next or when she will be leaving the vice president’s office. Sanders is the highest profile exit and the second high-profile one from the Harris team in the last month. Ashley Etienne, Harris’ communications director, is also set to depart in the coming weeks.
An official in the vice president’s office confirmed the departure and said the president and vice president have “known for a while.” The official added that Sanders had worked for President Joe Biden for nearly three years.
In a note to staff Wednesday night, Sanders confirmed the exit, writing, “I'm so grateful to the VP for her vote of confidence from the very beginning and the opportunity to see what can be unburdened by what has been. I'm grateful for [Harris chief of staff] Tina [Flournoy] and her leadership and her confidence as well. Every day, I arrived to the White House complex knowing our work made a tangible difference for Americans. I am immensely grateful and will miss working for her and with all of you.”
Flournoy also sent a note to the VP’s team, saying, “Symone told the VP a couple months ago that she’d be leaving us at the end of the year. I’ve often said about her that no job is too big or too small for Symone.”
One of the most publicly recognizable individuals in the Biden administration, Sanders transitioned to Harris’ vice presidential team after serving as a Biden campaign senior adviser during the 2020 election. In her post, she helped Harris juggle a tricky portfolio, including not just trying to address the root causes of migration from Northern Triangle countries and the federal push for voting rights, but also carrying the weight of being the nation’s first female vice president.
Sanders fought relentlessly for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
It wasn’t always smooth. Harris’ office has been beset by disorder, bad press, and, at times, internal frictions. Outside advisers complained that she was handed policy issues that were destined for failure and not given what she needed to succeed as vice president. And, in recent weeks, chatter has grown increasingly loud that Harris wasn’t positioned well to be Biden’s heir apparent in 2028 or, if he opts not to run again, in 2024.
Sanders, who traveled frequently with Harris, often was the aide who pushed back against these storylines. That included this past November when she took to Harris’ defense amid the latest wave of stories about the uncertainty of her political future.
“It is unfortunate that after a productive trip to France in which we reaffirmed our relationship with America’s oldest ally and demonstrated U.S. leadership on the world stage, and following passage of a historic, bipartisan infrastructure bill that will create jobs and strengthen our communities, some in the media are focused on gossip,” she wrote.
