The Windsor, Virginia Police Department fired Joe Gutierrez, the cop who sprayed an unarmed Black motorist in a brutal encounter.
Caron Nazario, a Black/Latino motorist who is a Second Lieutenant with the U.S. Army has filed a lawsuit against the former cop, his backup partner and the city of Windsor. The town has responded to the lawsuit by formally apologizing to Nazario and promising transparency.
This was fucked up... Caron Nazario said to the cops as they detained him for not cooperating. He was being profiled for a missing license plate. He had a plate in the window.
"The Town has also requested an investigation of this event by the Virginia State Police, and joins with elected officials who have called for a full and complete review of the actions of these officers," said town manager William Saunders. He added that the town was "saddened for events like this to cast our community in a negative light."
The incident report said that Nazario was initially pulled over for not having tags displayed on his SUV, but the temporary dealer plate is visible in the officer's body-camera video.
Nazario was released without being charged.
Gov. Ralph Northam, the President of the Isle of Wright County NAACP also called for an immediate investigation into the matter.
The incident happened in December 2020. The video released was on Saturday and it became a focal point of tension in the United States. Added that the shooting of Daunte Wright, the trial of that former cop who killed George Floyd, and numerous "Karen" encounters have sparked tensions.
Nazario was dressed in uniform and driving his Chevy Tahoe in Windsor, Virginia, a town that is 10 miles from Suffolk. The body camera footage shows Nazario with his hands in the air outside the vehicle and telling the armed cops: "I'm honestly afraid to get out."
"Yeah, you should be!" said the cop, identified as Gutierrez.
The pullover was at a local BP gas station. Caron said that it was a well-lit area and he did what most people do when their being pulled over.
Caron wanted to show respect to the officers by giving them an opportunity to know he's being respectful to their safety as well as his.
Yet it turned into a violent encounter. A bad cop who abused his power and his authority.
Now the cop can appeal his firing but given the climate where accountability is necessary, the police union will face heat for allowing a bad cop to stay on the force.

Don't you get tired about hearing about mass shootings in the United States. There were five other mass shootings before I posted this. Three cops were killed by gun violence before I posted this. The shooting of Daunte Wright. We have two former NFL players who shot and killed people.
Off to a violent week of gun violence in the United States.
The cycle of gun violence continues in the United States. President Joe Biden and Democrats are hoping to pass gun reform before the epidemic gets worse. I mean what's the latest excuse for Republicans in the wake of a mass shooting, a police shooting, a person of color being shot by police and a failed terrorist plot?
"Now it's not the time for us to talk about this...."
"The Second Amendment is under attack...."
"The good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun..."
"Gun rights are human rights...."
"You need more security officers and retired officers in the schools...."

Gov. Bill Lee does the pathetic thoughts and prayers in the wake of a mass shooting.
Since the Parkland shooting, young activists have demanded that Congress do something about gun violence and protecting our schools. They had a Broward County Sheriff in the school. He allegedly cowered when the white nationalist went on his murder spree. The suspect was caught and is facing a DEATH card.
Many of these mass shooters are white. The far-right often laser focused on the race, religion, nationality and political affiliations of the terrorist.
Whenever it turns out to be a White man, the far-right will automatically claim he's a Democrat or associated with either Black Lives Matter or Antifa.
None of these things help. Matter of fact, it's only making matters worse because they're deflecting from the issue of gun violence to resort to their stupid culture wars.
Blame, deflect, instigate and complain is the white nationalist Republican strategy to winning back Congress. The fucking culture war in a pandemic and an epidemic of gun violence.
A Knoxville school was the scene of a mass shooting.
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Bill Lee, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN), the nine members of the U.S. Representatives are notified of the mass shooting in Knoxville. They will offer the usual "thoughts and prayers" and the "hearts going out to" nonsense.
Between the phony prayers, the phony sympathy and the outrage..... We hear about the motive.
The terrorist was captured without a bullet being fired. So that means he's either a white man or possibly a person of color. My guess is the shooter is white. If I'm wrong, the far-right will be here on this blog to troll their "gotcha" bullshit.
The shooting took place at Austin-East Magnet School. The shooting happened around 3pm.
The terrorist is a teenager and it's not clear on the motive. The shooting killed one and has numerous others injured with either fair to critical.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the FBI and the Knox County Sheriff is investigating the matter.
Knoxville mayor condemned the shooting.
The Knoxville Police have confirmed that one of their officers was shot by the terrorist.
"A KPD officer was shot at least one time and transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with injuries that are not expected to be life-threatening," said in a statement.
Police said they were called to the school on reports of a "male subject who was possibly armed at the school" adding: "Upon approach of the subject, shots were fired."
Knox County officials include Glenn Jacobs (formerly known a WWE's Kane) have reacted to the shooting. Knoxville mayor Indya Kincannon also condemned the shooter and said that the officer shot is in "good spirits."
The school dealt with tragedy since February. Three students were shot to death over a three-week span.
That idiot governor decided to be a dickhead. In the wake of Biden's proposals to curb gun violence, Lee decided to support a legislative measure that allows most adults over 21 to carry handguns -- openly or concealed -- without first clearing a background check or training.
The law does not apply to long guns.
It will take effect in the Summer on July 1.

The graphic body camera footage shows a white female cop shot an unarmed Black man. It was not a Black cop that shot him. Portions of the video describe the white cop yell, "Taser" before pulling out her service weapon and then shooting him directly in the chest.
As he drove with a gun shot wound in his chest and eventually crash, the cop said she shot him.
Reminder of the two female white cops who shot Terrence Crutcher and Botham Jean. The former Tulsa cop escaped the iron college but was forbidden to work as a cop The former Dallas cop was convicted of manslaughter and is serving 10 years in the iron college. She was forbidden to work as a cop. She is trying appeal her sentence. If you want to go further, remember Oscar Grant? He was killed by a California transit cop after he claim he accidently fired his weapon in arresting Grant.
Cops will say they "feared for their lives" whenever they use their service weapons.

This shooting of Daunte Wright happened on Sunday. The pullover was done by the Brooklyn Center Police. The allegations for the pullover was an air freshener in the rearview window.
The city of Brooklyn Center is near Minneapolis. It's part of the metroplex of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The city has a population of 52,000 residents.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has immediately opened an investigation into the matter.
The cop who Police Chief Tim Gannon said was a very senior officer.
The mayor of the city of Brooklyn Center, Mike Elliott said that he will tell Gannon to fire this cop.
The department's body camera footage is clear as day that she literally shot an unarmed man.
"Oh shit, I just shot him!"
"It is my belief that the officer had the intention to deploy their Taser but instead shot Mr. Wright with a single bullet," Gannon said, who declined to provide details about the officer's record.
The pullover was for expired tags. His mother claimed that it was for having "air fresheners handing in his rearview window."
The two other cops who were engaged with Duante Wright were not placed in the freezer. The cop who shot him is in the freezer pending an investigation into whether she was justified in shooting the motorist.
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Attorney General Merrick Garland are aware of this and will await the state's results before the federal government gets involved.
The far-right has also been controversial in the matter. It began with white nationalist enabler, Andy Ngo, a gay Asian American far-right troll outlining the "unrest in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center."
I expect "stork neck" enabler Candace Owens, Sean "Softball" Hannity, Fox News and the white nationalists online to justify the fatal encounter because of Daunte's history with marijuana and loud noise.

Tensions are high in the metroplex of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The latest incident involving a police officer killing a person of color has made the news. This on top of the trial of the former Minneapolis police officer who murdered George Floyd by placing his goddamn knee on his neck.
The eleventh day of trial for this dirty cop.
So the prosecutors are going to be wrapping up their part. They will have a few more witnesses and medical examiners to testify in the trial.
This trial is a second degree and third degree murder case. The conviction is 40 years to LIFE for the dirty cop.
Prosecutors will wrap up their case this week.
In May 2020, George Floyd was accused of passing a bad $20 bill to cashiers at the Cup Foods store in Minneapolis. The police responded to the vehicle that Floyd was in and detained him. They would soon arrest him on the charges and it became a violent scuffle.
The dirty cop would place Floyd on the ground and put his goddamn knee on his neck.
Floyd saying he can't breathe and pleading for his mama.
After 10 minutes of having his goddamn knee on his neck, Floyd was unconscious. The paramedics could not revive him and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
It set off a chain of events that led to unrest in the city. Washed Up 45 would not take action in regards to police reform and gun reform. It cost him his reelection chances.
The city of Minneapolis had to pay the family estate $27 million.
The cop and his three fellow cops were fired and criminally charged. The three other cops will now face aiding and abetting to the crime.
They will face trial soon.
The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Daunte Wright was killed by the law after a traffic stop. Tensions again boil in Minneapolis-St. Paul. This comes almost a year after George Floyd's death.

Daunte's mother is furious that the Brooklyn Center cops killed her son.
The latest police shooting in the United States. Again, a never ending theme here on Journal de la Reyna is the “What Happened To” postings. I often do these postings in regards to the latest incident involving a person of color being either killed by gun or racially motivated violence.
Everyday, we still see these incidents of people of color being shot and killed by the police. Time after time, law enforcement seem to be never held accountable for shooting Black men and women. It's always the cop's word over the dead body.
I hope that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris work on police reform.

It appears that 20-year old, Daunte Wright was pulled over by the Brooklyn Center Police. Apparently he had minor misdemeanor warrants. Chief Tim Gannon of the Brooklyn Center Police Department said that a cop shot and killed Wright after a traffic violation and discovery the driver had a warrant for his arrest.
Tensions are high in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
As the police tried to detain Daunte, he stepped back into his car, at which point an officer shot him.
The man's car then traveled for several block and struck another vehicle, after which the police and medical workers pronounced him dead. Gannon did not give any information on the officer who fired or say how severe the crash had been, through the passengers in the vehicle in the other car were not injured. The chief said that the cops' body cameras and dash cameras were on during the shooting.
Katie Wright, the mother of Daunte said that her son had been driving a car that his family just gave him two weeks ago and that he called her as he was being pulled over.
Wright said that she urged Daunte to stay on the phone with her as she was giving out the vehicle's insurance information.
"Then I heard the police officer come to the window and say, 'Put the phone down and get out the car,'" she said.
"He said they pulled him over because he had air fresheners hanging from his rearview window," Wright added.

Wright heard "scuffling" and an officer telling her son not to run. Then, she said, someone hung up the phone. When she called back, her son's girlfriend answered and told her that he had been shot.
His mother added that her son had been driving with his girlfriend when he was shot. The police said that the woman in the vehicle was hurt in the crash but the injuries are non life-threatening.
The shooting ignited fury among those living in the metroplex.

Tim Walz, the embattled Democratic-Farmer-Labor (Democratic Party) governor has issued the National Guard and Minnesota State Patrol to control the streets. Walz, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN), Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) and Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) will hear from their constituents.
The police have used tear gas and rubber bullets to break up crowds which is causing more tension.
Many see this as a double standard. Of course, the insurrection happened in January 2021 and a bunch of Washed Up 45's supporters managed to invade the U.S. Capitol and occupy it for three hours before the law disperse the crowd.
