Five years later, People Magazine picks British actor Idris Elba as their "Sexiest Man Alive." He will join two other men of color gracing that tabloid.

Idris Elba was finally picked as People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive.

Damn, how long did this take?

Yeah, I am cynical about the choice. It could have been five years ago when me and SB covered this controversy. However, People Magazine heard the concern. Trust me, we were vocal.

After years of watching white men grace that tabloid, some started to notice something, "Why are all the pretty faces gracing the cover ALWAYS White?"

Elba joins Denzel Washington and Dwayne Johnson as the only men of color to grace that tabloid.

Yes. I am happy to see more people of color grace the cover of PEOPLE. It's about time to show honor to men of color who often are overlooked by magazines as "sexiest:"

No. There's no improvement. PEOPLE Magazine were planning on picking another White man as their "sexiest." They wanted to quarrel backlash if they picked a person of color. I don't believe the hype.

I think the PEOPLE Magazine "Sexiest Man Alive" Covers are sexist. We should not judge men and women on how sexy they are.

I have no opinion of PEOPLE Magazine. It's their magazine, they can decide on who graces their cover. I don't care who it is.

The British actor who starred in The Wire as well Mandela: Walk To Freedom, Luther, and the Thor movie franchise is a heartthrob among women.

The actor was an only child who grew up in the neighborhoods of Hackney, London. Elba is an actor, music producer, singer, kickboxer, director, DJ and father to two children.

He is an amazing talent and finally People decided to acknowledge his accomplishments as a face of color who inspires millions of young Brits and Americans.

Elba became People Magazine's 33rd Sexiest Man Alive, joining a long list of Hollywood’s hottest, starting with a then-29-year-old Mel Gibson in 1985 to last year's pick Blake Shelton.

Though he was an athlete at his all-boys school in London, playing first-string football, basketball, cricket, hockey and rugby, the actor insists he went through an awkward phase first. "I was very tall and skinny," says the 6’3" Elba. "And my name was Idrissa Akuna Elba, okay? I got picked on a little bit. But as soon as I could grow a mustache, I was the coolest kid on the block. Grew a mustache, had some muscles, bonkers."

When he's not being one of Hollywood's brightest stars, Elba might be deejaying in Ibiza, kickboxing in Thailand, or designing his own clothing line, not to mention planning his wedding to his fiancée Sabrina Dhowre, 29, a model, to whom he proposed in February. But picking the happiest moment of his life is easy.

Cause I see only three men of color on that list.

We have to do better. Given we are living in the age of Donald J. Trump, I swear it's going to get worse.

We have to dust ourselves off and fight again. Fight for change and resist white male privilege and the status quo. The folks at People Magazine, local law enforcement agencies, the Republican Party and the uneducated white voter are a danger to people of color.

It's time to motivate. We got two years to get back in action. I know it's going to be a hard fight. But we're in this to win.

Trump is likely going to win in 2020. It's up to you and I to prevent it.

The Cost!

Regardless of what happened this election, we made a difference. 

Republicans win heavily in Texas, Missouri, Ohio, Florida, North Dakota, Indiana, Utah and Arizona. The defeat of two massively popular candidates of color hurts a bit. The Republicans keep hold of three gubernatorial states Donald J. Trump carried in 2016.

Georgia, Florida and Ohio went to Republicans. Despite the powerful backing of famous personalities, a heavy voter turnout and frequent presence, the Republicans managed to squeak through.

I choice to not watch the results. 

I see Republicans will pick up four seats in the Senate but will lose the House of Representatives. Trump will not call Nancy Pelosi or top Democratic leaders.

Rick Scott, Mike Braun, Josh Hawley, Marsha Blackburn, Ted Cruz, Kevin Cramer and Mitt Romney will continue to help Trump push through more Suprmee Court nominees. Even Joe Manchin will join in. 

Trump is likely to win his 2020 reelection by 75%. 

We will continue to see more gun violence, ridiculous laws passed in honor of murdered white people, voter suppression, more police officers killing people of color, openly racist candidates and more threats on Americans lives.

The economy could start tanking in a few years. More partisan gridlock.

Yeah, the racists won. White anger still exists. It's unfortunate that the United States is heading towards disaster.

Lucy McBath: We Will Defeat Karen Handel!

The mother of a movement. Lucy McBath is hoping to defeat Republican in suburban Atlanta.

Lucy McBath, the mother of a slain murder victim is running for Congress. The first time candidate could pull off an upset victory in the Georgia 6th Congressional District. The district is currently occupied by Rep. Karen Handel (R-GA). She is an embattled lawmaker who won the district after Democrats threw their support to Jon Ossoff, a moderate who distanced himself from the party.

The 6th Congressional District was once held by Tom Price, the former Health and Human Service Secretary who resigned in disgrace.

Over the weekend, Cook Political Report and FiveThirtyEight move the 6th Congressional District into toss-up.

Democrats went all in last year for Jon Ossoff, who raised $23 million and energized progressives around the country in an effort to send a message to newly installed President Trump by taking a seat that had been held by the GOP since 1979. Trump won the 6th District by only 1 percentage point two years ago.

But when the 30-year-old documentary filmmaker and former congressional aide came up just short of an outright win in the April special election and lost to Handel by 4 percentage points in a runoff, political observers concluded the suburban Atlanta district was out of reach for Democrats.

Then McBath, a national anti-gun violence advocate, jumped into the race at the last minute, citing February’s mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. that left 17 dead, most of them students.

She surprised pundits by coming in first in a four-way field in May and by winning a runoff in July. Now she's hoping to beat the odds Tuesday in a showdown with Handel. McBath is encouraged by the ratings upgrades by the political websites.

"My race is a toss-up because every single person in this district, regardless of political belief or party — wants our kids to be safe at school," she said. "People in GA06 [Georgia’s 6th District] want their family members with preexisting conditions to have quality and affordable health care. I am the only candidate in this race who will fight for those values."

Handel, according to her campaign spokesman, feels confident she will be reelected.

Lucy McBath got an endorsement from former Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff.

"We did this just last year, when we faced even more outside money and outside influence," said Charlie Harper. "Karen is very well known throughout this district, she has been a part of this district, serving it for 25 years. People know her. That showed in the result in June of 2017, and it will show in the result tomorrow."

McBath has emphasized gun control and vowed to protect the Affordable Care Act, noting that she has twice been diagnosed with breast cancer and understands how important it is to have access to health insurance. She has criticized Handel as being too cozy with the National Rifle Association and too loyal to Trump's agenda, including the GOP tax cuts, which she says don't benefit the middle-class families in the district.

"People are concerned about the gun culture, concerned about their children sitting in classrooms and the same thing that happened in Parkland happening to their children here," said McBath, who tells audiences that Handel is beholden to "the NRA lobby."

Handel argues that the tax cuts have put an average $4,400 a year back into the hands of the district’s taxpayers. Harper also said Handel understands the importance of protecting people with preexisting conditions because she has a sister who was born without an esophagus. He said Handel was not in Congress during the battle of repealing the ACA, but she supports a bill that would protect those with preexisting conditions from being denied coverage or having to pay higher premiums.

Rep. Karen Handel (R-GA) is hoping to keep the district red.

McBath is the mother of Jordan Davis. The young teen was killed after a man got upset over the music he and his friends were playing.

Jordan Davis was killed in 2012 by a Florida man after he played music loud outside his friend's car.

The suspect, Michael Dunn was an angry white man who believed the young man was a no good hood. Dunn shot his firearm at Jordan's passenger side. He instantly killed him.

Dunn would leave the scene of the crime. He and his girlfriend would end up getting a pizza. It took almost three days to find him.

Dunn said the music was "ghetto trash" and Jordan deserved to die.

Dunn was sentenced to the iron college.

Limbaugh grew up in Cape Girardeau. Limbaugh is best known for his remarks on the AM dial. He has suffered a massive downgrade after public tirade of a Georgetown University student went overboard. Limbaugh is regarded as the second most listened to talk radio host in the country. He lost to a softball.

Sean "Softball" Hannity is an unofficial adviser to Trump. He is the most annoying media personality in the country. He is an extremely toxic figure in the world of politics. His rhetoric has inspired the terrorist who sent bombs to prominent politicians and critics of Trump.

Limbaugh, Hannity and Lee Greenwood will be joining Trump in Tennessee.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and former governor Phil Bredesen are neck and neck.

This a record setting Midterm. More Americans have went to the polls.

Music Teacher Gave A Racist Student A Helping Of Knuckle Style Chili!

Music teacher serves a student a hot pl;ate.

California teacher was arrested after he served a student a helping of knuckle style chili with onions.

Marston Riley was caught on video serving an unknown student a helping.

The music teacher asked a student in his band class to leave because he wasn't wearing a proper uniform. The student berated the teacher with expletives and racial slurs.

He threw a basketball at the teacher, egging him on to "serve him."

The teacher gave him the business. He offered a hot helping.

Now Riley is getting court charge. He got a suspicion of child abuse and causing great bodily injury on a child.

The student was calling the teacher a NIGGA. Telling the teacher that he's ain't got the balls to take him on. The student quickly stopped playing their instruments and whipped out their phones to film the encounter.

"You got me fucked up, Nigga, you got me fucked up bro," the student said. "Why you say you're gonna beat my ass? Sheesh." That would be the point where he threw the basketball at Riley.



After a few minutes of taunting, the teacher finally breaks and serves him up.

The student tried to bob and weave. The student tries to throw up his hands but the teacher slams him again and an audible wham is heard in the video.

Riley served the knuckle style chili and it went to the stomach. It dropped him.

The video went viral. The teacher was placed on administrative leave. The student was treated and released.

The teacher was placed in the county lockup. He bonded out and is back at home.

Music teacher charged with abuse of a child. He served an unruly student a helping of knuckle style chili.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Authorities identified the student only as a 14-year-old. He was hospitalized for "moderate injuries" and then released, according to the sheriff's statement.

"We are extremely disturbed by the reports of the events that occurred at Maywood Academy High School," Los Angeles Unified Schools spokeswoman Shannon Haber said in a statement.

"We take this matter very seriously and do not condone violence or intolerance of any kind," she said. "Los Angeles Unified is cooperating with law enforcement in investigating this incident. Crisis counselors and additional School Police patrols will be at the school on Monday to support our students and staff."

Riley is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 30.
