Michael Sam quits football. The curtain falls on the first openly gay football player. He can now say he's a washed up celebrity.
I guess the fame has passed. The world was hoping for a miracle. Unfortunately, Michael Sam didn't offer that. His surprising admission that he is openly gay and he wanted to join the NFL gotten so much attention in 2013.
The sports community was wondering if the league was ready to have an openly gay player.
It didn't happen.
Michael Sam was the player of the year. He was the defensive back for the University of Missouri (MIZZOU) Tigers. He was drafted for the St. Louis Rams. He was picked 267 out of the 350 picks. He was quickly cut after he failed to maintain a successful catching records. He won a ESPY award for his courage.
He would soon get a pick on the Dallas Cowboys reserve squad. It didn't last but less than seven months.
He would end up on reality television. The washed up celebrity show Dancing With The Stars had him on the recent season. He was cut in the fourth week after failing to match to other competitors.
Then apparently he ended up playing for the Canadian Football League. He was drafted for the Montreal Alouettes. He signed a two year contract with the team. But after few months on the team he gave it up for no apparent reason.
I am guessing he and his boyfriend are broken up as well. He was planning on marrying Vito Cammisano his longtime partner.
Sam claims that he's giving up on football. He said that he's been treated for mental issues.
Any thoughts on this?
Was Michael Sam the "great hype" or just a giant hype?
The state of emergency may be over for the folks in St. Louis County. The scene of the unrest during the 2014 shooting of Michael Brown. The residents celebrate the first year of the tragic shooting.
Some events in the city of Ferguson and vicinity, added the movie premiere of Straight Outta Compton got the law enforcement working extra overtime in the handling possible breaks of unrest.
Unrest is the junk food media's sanctioned word for rioting and looting. This comes after calls of media bias by protesters who believe the media treats White rioters and looters that cause damage differently.
Now a St. Louis County deputy is going to face some time in the freezer after some unearth a social media post of him saying that his duties to cover possible unrest were like getting an "annual Michael Brown bonus".
Officer Todd J Bakula, known as “TJ”, appears to be showing off about extra money earned while part of a massive police response throughout this week with the anniversary demonstrations of Brown’s death, which saw St. Louis County cops working long hours.
“I decided to spend my annual Michael Brown bonus on a nice relaxing bicycle ride trip to Defiance,” a Missouri recreation destination about 40 miles from Ferguson, Bakula wrote on his personal Facebook page under the name TJ Thekoola. “Eating dinner now and staying at a bed and breakfast tonight.”
Well apparently it reached his superiors and they're having a shake their head with disgust moment.
Shawn McGuire the public relations officer was none too happy to hear this.
“Police officer Bakula is a patrolman with the St Louis County police department.”
“We understand the post is controversial,” McGuire said. “The St Louis County police department takes these allegations very serious in every case. The remarks on the Facebook page will be investigated by our department.”
Bakula clammed up after being called by The Guardian and other media outlets.
He thought his post wasn't causing any harm.
In the wake of the shooting of Michael Brown, calls for police reform are growing. Last week we had three events in which unarmed suspects were gunned down by law enforcement.
Zack Hammond, Dontae Martin, Sam DuBose, Christian Taylor, and so many more.
One could wonder why would a member of law enforcement post an offensive posting given the protesters the notion that those responsible for the deaths of unarmed suspects practiced reckless judgement.
The Straight Outta Compton movie is the most anticipated movie this summer. And the law fears that it could spark violence. The N.W.A. was founded by Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy E, DJ Yella, MC Ren and the Arabian Prince. The movie is directed by F.F. Gary and Ice Cube.
The album Straight Outta Compton is being re-released today to comply with the movie.
The movie inspired the good doctor to release a "surprise album" this month. Dr. Dre's album Compton, sold over 565,000 albums. It is the "final" album from the media mogul. Dre signed on as a chairperson for APPLE Music, Inc. He relinquished his role in the Beats Audio to join the computer giant for creative and musical releases.
The large cities are anticipating a possible mass shooting event to occur after the film ends.
So they beef up patrol and it's grabbing Ice Cube and Dr. Dre's attention.
It follows N.W.A, which included rappers Dr Dre and the late Eazy-E, as they rose to fame in the late 1980s with lyrics drawing from the violence, crime and anti-police sentiments that the rappers themselves had experienced growing up in Compton.
The movie premiere to the one year anniversary of the Michael Brown shooting.
Reuters reports that Brown's death was one in a series of police killings of unarmed black men and women across the U.S. that has renewed the debate on race and justice.
Against that backdrop, and with security at movie theaters in focus after a gunman killed two women in a Louisiana screening of "Trainwreck" in July, private security and police presence was increased at a number of venues.
"(In this movie) police don't come out in a good light and there is a feeling in the country that is anti-police and anti-establishment, and crowds are affected by movies," Tom DeLuca, president of National Cinema Security, the largest provider of security to U.S. movie theaters, told Reuters.
At a screening in South Gate, a neighboring city of Compton, an employee checking attendees' bags on entry said the theater hired extra security for the film's opening. One guard was stationed outside of the film's screening room.
N.W.A. founding member Ice Cube, one of the film's producers, praised the efforts of the studio and theaters.
"I am glad that Universal stepped up and it's all about making people feel safe," the rapper told Reuters.
Comcast Corp-owned Universal Pictures said it would work with theater owners on any security issues.
"The studio has not solicited enhanced security for theaters who will begin showing it this weekend, but have partnered with those exhibitors who've requested support for their location," Universal said in a statement.
Compton native Eddie Cruz told Reuters at a screening in nearby Downey he hoped the film shed a light on his community.
"The majority of the United States don't really understand what's going on in these cities like Compton or Oakland," he said. "They need to understand what's happening and I think having it shown in movies really helps that progress forward."
Attendees at the first screenings on Thursday in locations neighboring Compton said they were not concerned about possible violence.
"I'm here with my kids. I feel secure," said Leo Olea at the Downey screening. "It's just a movie after all."
Fellow movie-goer Vince Montano added: "I'm pretty sure people are smarter than that now so I don't think there'd be any violence."
The film is projected to top the U.S. box office this weekend with upwards of $40 million, said Rentrak senior analyst Paul Dergarabedian.
"People who are excited to see any movie this weekend are not going to be deterred by any thought of violence at theaters," he said.
The worst president in American history has nothing to lose. The 29th President of the United States, Warren G. Harding was regarded as one of the modern history disasters. His short term was marred with scandals.
Besides the Teapot Dome scandal, accusations of infidelity were mentioned.
Today, the decedents of Harding finally acknowledged the the president has a mistress and it bore a child.
The president's daughter.
It was Nan Britton, a then 16 year old teen who grabbed the eye of Harding. Harding was working in Marion as a newspaper editor. He was considering a run for U.S. Senate.
I guess before he jumped into the race, he popped Nan's cherry.
Harding would not deny it. He was known as a big player in the Senate and later the White House. He has been accused of having numerous affairs with as a senator and then president.
But he wouldn't talk about around his wife and his children.
Nan has claimed that Harding would demand for her. She would come into the White House around the secret door and guided into a private quarters where Harding would get some Nan.
Nan would eventually give birth to a girl. Elizabeth Ann Britton Harding Blaesing was born in 1919, just a few months into his first term.
The family have acknowledged that Elizabeth is a Harding by blood.
Matter of fact this puts to rest a long deep controversy that swarmed the legacy. Many felt that Nan was a celebrity agitator who seeks fame off the back of Harding.
No longer that exists.
Nan would die in 1994 and Elizabeth would die in 2005. Both can rest knowing that Harding is the father.
Maury Povich would be happy to have this on his resume.
Feds stop American couple from joining extremist group in Syria.
The Islamic State is a popular breeding ground for the reclusive. Again the most dangerous individual to cause mass causalities are the "NICE GUYS". Yeah, the people who some think are innocent and never would ever do something like this. There are some American people sympathetic to the extremist group's causes. That brings a whole lot of concern to the U.S. Homeland Security and Justice Departments. Some are leaving their families to join the group many in the world call the most dangerous bunch of terrorists since the rise of al-Qaeda.
Of course, many American Muslims denounce the Islamic State. It's also dubbed Da'eesh.
Some supporters are trying to find ways to duck the feds by coding their words. Apparently two Mississippi residents didn't expect the feds were watching. They were caught by their own mistakes.
Socializing online with groups they believe are supporters of the Islamic State. Nope, they the feds.
An American couple was stopped at the gate. They got hitched this year and the plan was going to a country that wasn't Turkey and then sneak into Syria to join the extremist group.
22 year old Muhammad "Mo" Oda Dakhlalla and his wifey 20 year old Jaelyn Delshaun Young-Dakhlalla were nabbed by the feds after they were trying to leave a Mississippi airport. They were going to do an untraceable flight plan.
Not so fast.
The two are being held on federal conspiracy charges which can carry up to 25 years in federal time out. The charges are a devastating blow to the families.
The young woman was a star athlete and student. Her mom is a principal at a school and her father is a part of the law. The young man was a star student. He was a shy, quiet kid who had name recognition but no play in high school. His father is a imam at a local mosque. The family were average middle class and were shocked to hear this.
Family members did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Both are former Mississippi State University students, according to university spokesperson Sid Salter. Dakhlalla, of Starkville, Mississippi, graduated in the spring with a degree in psychology, and Young was last enrolled in the spring as a sophomore studying chemistry.
Ken Coghlan, an attorney representing Young, declined to comment to reporters outside the federal courthouse in Oxford, Mississippi, after a hearing there Tuesday. Greg Park, a federal public defender representing Dakhlalla, also declined to comment.
An affidavit filed in U.S. District Court details how two undercover FBI employees unraveled the alleged scheme.
The couple described their skills and asked how they could help the terror group's efforts. "I am good with computers, education and media," Dakhlalla allegedly wrote in one message to an FBI employee. "What could I contribute?" Young also allegedly told an undercover FBI agent that her skills would be useful. "I am skilled in math and chemistry and worked at an analytical lab here on my college campus. My partner is very good with things like computer science/media. We learn very fast and would love to help with giving medical aid."
In messages detailed in the complaint, the couple seemed enthusiastic, but also concerned about how training would work once they arrived. "Salaam again," Dakhlalla allegedly wrote in a message to an FBI employee. "I wanted to ask about the military experience there. Would I be with people that speak English as well or do they put me with everyone at basic training? I am excited about coming ... but I feel I won't know what all I will be doing."
They showed sympathy to the last incidents of mass murder. The Chattanooga shooting and the failed Garland shooting.
Time out for Brady. He is in federal court fighting the time out.
Roger Goodell is being forced to straighten out the behavior of the NFL. He's faced pressure since the Ray Rice incident. The controversies continue into 2015.
New England Patriots quarterback and celebrity agitator Tom Brady is facing a four game suspension for his alleged role in the AFC playoff game where he order staffers to deflate game footballs.
The game held in 2014 was a clear victory for New England. They played the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts were handily beaten but concerns came when they were complaining about game balls being lighter than normal.
I.K Enemkpali got shipped to Buffalo after he served Geno Smith a five knuckle special.
It lead to critics saying that coach Bill Belichick and Tom Brady set up the move. Some call it Deflategate or Cheatergate. Nonetheless, the Patriots went on to win the 2014-15 AFC season and Super Bowl XLIX.
Now a new season and they're on point to do a better season. They've been fined heavily and lost two selection picks. Brady who was accused of hiding evidence got the suspension handed to him plus a hefty fine. He took it to federal court and is gambling on his chances.
If the federal court rules in favor of the NFL, he may be suspended longer.
Geno Smith got healing time after former teammate served him a special.
Some are bitching about the court reporter's horrible rendition of the world's most valuable quarterback. Accusations of a New York Giant supporter trying to make Brady look like a grumpy cheater.
New York Giants are the Patriots rival.
And what got the sports agitators and junk food media buzzing is the New York Jets sacking of Ikemefuna Chinedum "I.K." Enemkpali.
He was fired out the cannon for giving a five finger roll to Geno Smith during a heated dispute over a debt. Enemkpali was getting fed up with Smith's delay of a $600 debt. The debt was met with a five finger roll served with a side of knockout punch.
Tom Brady's courtroom sketch was panned by fans. It went viral because of the alleged emotions in federal court. Some claim that the sketcher was a New York Giants fan.
Geno Smith got a jaw breaker and is out for a few months. Enemkpali may face criminal charges and some game suspension and/or hefty fines.
On top of that he's on the bubble. The Buffalo Bills decides to pick him up.
Preseason begins. Wondering who got's game.
Knowing that Tom and IK are facing some heat for behavior, Roger got a lot of work to do to keep the world's most popular sport in tact.
Ray Rice could sign with the Cleveland Browns. A year after the mandatory suspension and worldwide condemnation.
Blame the BP Chicago refinery for spike in gas prices in Midwest.
A refinery in the Chicagoland has the Midwest seeing gas prices rises up to $3.00 a gallon.
Somewhere in Northeastern Indiana is a major BP oil refinery. That refinery shut down due to some issues that couldn't be determined. And since Monday many in the Midwest from Minneapolis to Cleveland saw the spike up.
In early August the average price in my hometown of Dayton, Ohio was at $2.299 a gallon. On Monday afternoon it spiked to $2.599 and now its currently at $2.999 a gallon.
Cities affected by the spike include the five largest cities in the Midwest: Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Detroit, and St. Louis.
See the Chicago market affects million of people. It's Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Eastern Missouri.
No true answer to why there was a spike but it's guaranteed that's it will linger around at least past Labor Day.
Still leading in the polls. The Donald settles feud with the network that gave him a reason to believe President Barack Obama's birth certificate being forged.
The feud with the network that believes Hillary Clinton will end up in federal time out has made peace with The Donald.
Donald Trump and Chief Roger got into a discussion room and worked out their differences. The differences was its star anchor Megyn. For you see this little dust up gotten a whole lot of media attention.
Megyn The Outrage Princess came under heavy criticism from conservatives for giving Trump a pointed question at the train wreck in Cleveland. Over 24 million people watched 10 candidates word vomit Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton's name over 100 times. The kiddie table was watched by 7 million. The remaining candidates were debating to a nearly empty Quiken Loans Arena.
Megyn faced some death threats and calls for her to not moderate any other debates.
The question was a trip up on his controversial statements about women. Trump basically blasted her for giving him a question that has no place in the real discussion.
So for the last week, Trump has went on every network to discuss his latest attack on Megyn.
He said that she had blood pouring out her eyes and whatever. Some called it a jab at woman's menstruation and found it to be sexist.
Some were writing off his campaign. Matter of fact, RedState founder Erick Erickson tried to isolate Trump from the gathering in Atlanta.
Then Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Rick Perry, Carly Fiorina and Rand Paul got their chance at attacking Trump. So far, Carly rose up, while Bush, Walker, Perry and Paul all took nosedives.
Chief Roger settled with Trump.
The nosedive is so bad, Perry is almost broke. He is hiring volunteers and limiting his stops. Some are predicting he may be the first man out!
Paul the most fiercest critic, labeled Trump, a "phony" conservative and a plant for Hillary's reelection bid. Paul who was considered 4th place is now in 8th place.
None of this stuff worked.
Even Hillary made a jab at Trump and it took her down a notch. Now the concern trolls are crowing over the fact that Bernie Sanders is leading in New Hampshire according to one poll.
The network that devotes 80% of the news reports to Hillary's personal server was about to go to war with the controversial business and media mogul.
All of that was settled. But at what cost?
Megyn being thrown under the bus. Some insiders believe that the matter was a shouting match.
Brian Steler of CNN's Reliable Sources reported that they will never talk about it but it was pretty ugly. On the ensuing phone call, there was "very blunt" talk from both sides, including Ailes' warning of war, two of the sources said.
There was an "instant understanding between two titans that this was over," one of the sources said. Trump wouldn't apologize, Megyn wouldn't apologize, but both sides would move on.
Trump tweeted about the phone call right afterward and said he'd been assured that "'Trump' will be treated fairly".
Megyn lead the 9pm spot. She got promoted to the spot. That annoying conservative agitator was demoted. He's been bitter about it since. He and Steve Doocy's Playhouse got access to Donald Trump. Trump's appearance on the 10pm show drew more than Megyn.
The sources for this story contradicted New York magazine's assertion that Chief Roger called Trump repeatedly and "begged" the candidate to tweet that they'd settled their feud. "Neither of them would beg for anything," one of the sources said.
For you see, Trump went to the most annoying conservative agitator's program for his interview post Megyn. It drew in ratings and gave him the victory. You know that that annoying agitator is still pissed that he was demoted to the 10pm spot after being on that spot for 16 years. He was taking glee in watching Megyn take heat from critics.
The 10pm show rakes in less than 800,000 viewers in the money demo. Megyn's 9pm show takes in 2.4 million in the money demo. The money demo is 25 - 54 age group. People usually watch the 10pm local agitator than that annoying conservative agitator.
Megyn was rated one of the best in Mediaites Best of 2014. That annoying agitator overwhelmingly became the worst media personality to ever host a show. He is right on his way for a second title.
Trump is still leading in the national polls. Its leveled off but so far, the largest lead is still active.
So if sexism, racism, calling him a liberal and shaming of veterans couldn't stop him, what will stop Trump?
Jimmy Carter announced he has cancer. The 39th President of the United States served from 1977 - 1981.
The 39th President of the Untied States announced he has cancer. The 90 year old James Earl Carter, known as Jimmy Carter announced that he was being treated for his liver and it was discovered that he had cancer in more than just his liver.
The former president will be treated at an Atlanta hospital.
The White House got the word today and issued their sympathies for the former president.
Carter and George H.W. Bush are 90 years old respectfully.
Bush is the oldest surviving president.
Both Carter and elder Bush have served one term as president. They struggled through an economic downturn in which it costed them their chances at securing a second term.
Carter has been involved with Homes for Habitat for years. He's been active in the volunteer work.
World News Today send ours prayers to President Carter.
Federal probe launched into the death of unarmed suspect.
When Brad Miller was answering a disturbance at a car lot, he managed to do something some called a reckless call. The reckless call killed Christian Taylor. Now he's gotten fired out the cannon for it.
Chief Will Johnson said officer Brad Miller used poor judgment when he decided to open fire on Christian Taylor during a late-night call at an auto dealership, reports AP. Taylor was moving toward the officer when he was shot multiple times, but the chief says there was no physical contact between the men. Police audio reveals that officers were on the scene about two minutes before the shots were fired, reports ABC News.
The 19-year-old, who played football for Angelo State University, allegedly drove his vehicle through the front window of the dealership after breaking the windshield of a car there. “This is a extraordinarily difficult case,” said Johnson, per the Dallas Morning News. “Decisions were made that have catastrophic outcome.” The case is expected to go before a grand jury to determine whether Miller will face criminal charges.
After trailing in the past polls, Carly Fiorina surged up to becoming a front runner.
Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina are the front runners in the Republican clown car. This news is a blow to Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and John Kasich.
But once again, why do people believe polls?
Polls don't mean shit.
Until the delegates are distributed to the candidates, you're not seeing any of the candidates drop out.
The conservative and liberal agitators on the AM radio are debating over that hot mess of a debate.
Over 24 million viewers watched this hot mess of a debate. Out of the debate came a rise in the polls for three candidates who were trailing. Trump has taken a lead despite Republicans complaining about his attack on Megyn The Outrage Princess.
This is the aftermath of the hot mess they called a Republican debate. Many conservatives thought Megyn tried to "set up" Trump with the question about his sexist responses to critics such as Rosie O'Donnell.
Chief Roger went to smooth out the tension between Trump after he blasted the network that calls Barack Obama a "socialist".
Now the first debate, called the Kiddie Table (or Happy Hour) debate was former HP executive Carly Fiorina's night. She managed to win the debate. She was complaining about Trump and Hillary Clinton. And now she's taken to front runner status.
Her rise in the polls along with Stallmigo Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) are a surprise.
Just a few days ago, Republicans were saying that it's over for Trump.
Nope, it's not over until he self-inflicts himself.
