| David Crowley has truce with Francesca Hong. It is the Wisconsin Democrats unity luncheon. The crucial race for governor shows deep divisions. |
Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Crowley is likely a sacrificial goat come November. He already doing the work for Republicans.
Just like in Michigan, there is deep resentment within the party. The narrow victories of Crowley and Abdul El-Sayed shows the divisions. I backed El-Sayed for senate and he won by a 1.2 points. I backed Francesca Hong and she lost by 0.3 points.
The establishment said that El-Sayed needs to work to win over Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) voters angry over his stances. The establishment said that Hong's voters need to play along.
What they are not getting is that folks are seeing through the bullshit.
Crowley is definitely at risk of losing to a stupid Republican.
A stupid white nationalist who denied the 2020 election results is the nominee on the Republican side. He has a united front and is sitting back eating a heart clogging butter burger at Culvers watching the Wisconsin Democratic Party and national Democrats fight in the mid with the aligned Democratic Socialists of America.
Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) is a stupid lawmaker with no accomplishments other than being some empty suit with racial slurs. He is a curmudgeon like the current govenor of Wisconsin. He is extremely out of touch with the reality Wisconsin voters face. Tiffany will win over 60% of the white vote. He will only generate 3 to 6% of the Black vote.
The race was Toss Up if Hong was the nominee. Now with Crowley, it has a Lean Republican. Way to go, Democrats. You put a 50/50 chance to a 60/40 chance.
That police shooting in Madison, Wisconsin will be a crucial moment to the Democratic nominee. Wondering if he can handle pressure. The residents of Madison are angry at the mayor and governor.
On a local junk food media interview, the reporter asked about if Hasan Piker wanted to do a campaign event for him, Crowley firmly reject it. He called him a divisive figure and said he will try to find ways to win over voters his way.
Gov. Tony Evers in a radio interview said that Francesca Hong’s voters "have to play along, I mean, not play along, they have to be part of it".
Okay, I am done being nice. If it takes Democrats to lose elections to make them understand that the concerns aren't being met, then so it be it. I don’t care about the candidate's race, gender, sexuality, religion or disability. I only care about policies.
This is why the Democrats are losing. They refuse to read the room. They are still trying to chase the elusive white vote and counting on boomer Black voters. They are literally saying young voters, Arab, Muslim, college educated and disenfranchised voters are irrelevant.
Identity politics is not winning voters when the policies that are presented aren't winning elections.
How does a razor thin win of less than 4,000 votes makes him a comeback kid?
Francesca Hong's voters were a mix of voters who were demanding generational change.
They did not care about her rhetoric online. They understood they cannot afford groceries. They understood they are paying too much for gas. They understood that rent, insurance preminums, shipping costs and energy consumption has went up.
They dug a corpse from the grave, gave it a lot of money, played racial politics and eeked out a small victory. Folks are expected to tolerate the results.
Yes, we accept the results.
Are we to get along and vote for the status quo when the demands are generational change?
No. We are not tolerating the "get along and go along" strategy.
Israel, AI, data centers, wildfires, the cost of living, the war in Iran and billionaires are big issue right now. We have tolerated so much this decade. Six years in and it feels like we are closing in on a catastrophic disaster under curmudgeon president.
If David Crowley doesn't get his shit together by late September, it is a wrap. Folks, I know holding your nose and voting is the worst thing you can do. I guess this what we got to do in a crucial election. Wisconsin voters deserve a candidate who can solve these problems.
I see it with Xavier Becerra, Steve Hilton, Amy Acton, Vivek Ramaswamy, Byron Donalds, David Jolly, Deb Haaland, Greggory Hull and others. They are flawed people. They are running for governor with folks dealing with angst.
President Donald J. Trump's policies aren't helping people and its showing in real time.
Rewarding noise is pretty much a given now. Tom Tiffany is definitely noise and it is a risk that I don't want for Wisconsin or any other state with a flawed Democrat.
I am an independent and I want the Democrats to win. But the way they're doing it has me wondering whether they got the potential even sway me to vote come Midterms.
