The death of cinematographer and director Halyna Hutchins has become a national debate on firearms on the set of movies. The movie industry is debating whether the use of prop guns will be allowed after the fatal tragedy. 

Alec Baldwin was in Santa Fe, New Mexico filming his Netflix movie Rust when he fired a prop gun killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. The incident has the Santa Fe County Sheriff, the New Mexico Department of Safety and FBI investigating.

The movie production was halted indefinitely after the shooting. Baldwin has reached out to the family of Halyna and has offered apologies to his fans.

Baldwin fired the gun striking Halyna in the chest and Joel in the arm. Joel survived the injuries. 

The veteran actor was on the phone with Hilaria and his management team in a state of shock.

He also reached out to her husband, Matthew. She leaves behind one son.

She was an Ukrainian-American cinematographer and journalist credited with works on 30 films, short films and television miniseries.

The far-right has also been on this controversy as well. Baldwin who portrayed Washed Up 45 on SNL and is a strong critic of Republicans has become a target of conservatives and that annoying agitator "Softball" Hannity.

The far-right has been trolling Baldwin and calling for his arrest.

The feds are zeroing in on assistant director Dave Halls and armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed. 

Halls was the director who handed Baldwin a "cold gun" and Gutierrez Reed was the woman responsible for maintain the prop weapons and checking for defects. 

The Bonanza Creek Ranch where the movie was being filmed is closed indefinitely until an investigation is concluded.

Before the tragic shooting, union paid workers complained about the safety conditions. They are accusing the production team of being reckless in handling.

IATSE members were close to striking due to work conditions. They used scabs when some of the workers left the set. There was no union prop master and there were no safety officials at the scene to inspect the weapons.

Alec Baldwin is known for his hot-head temper towards paparazzi and far-right agitators like Softball Hannity. He is a veteran actor, director, producer, game show, radio and talk show host.

Inside the church on the ranch, Baldwin was in the camera reenacting a fight and shooting scene when the actor fired his prop which had a "live round." Halyna and Joel were on a camera dolly when the prop was fired.

Halls is facing controversy. There are allegations that Halls faced complaints about his behavior. He was criticized for safety protocols and inappropriate sexual behavior.

President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Sen. Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM), Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM), Rep. Yvette Harrell (R-NM) and Rep. Teresa Legar Fernandez (D-MN) were notified of the shooting and they offered the usual thoughts and prayers and hearts going out to nonsense. 

The NRA has not commented on the shooting. But if it did, it's likely bad faith politics going at Biden, Harris and Baldwin. 

The investigation continues. There could be criminal charges against the production team and Baldwin if the investigators determine malice was involved.

Gun violence and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how this gun reform is taking away your rights. I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth. I don't want hear folks say this is not white privilege. I don't want to hear folks say masks impede their freedoms. I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. These incidents are a tragic part of American history.

We haven't forgotten about the many mass shootings in the United States. COVID-19 doesn't stop individuals from picking up firearms and killing others.

And I am getting fucking tired of white nationalists and their enablers of color complaining about the lack of Black fathers. The fathers are either killed by gun violence, police violence, COVID-19, heart diseases, diabetes, freak accidents and just being Black in America.
