The jingle is:
"For the best night sleep in the whole wide world, visit MyPillow.com"
The commercial had swamped your radio and television for years. You seen the My Pillow Guy promoting his American made pillows and urging you a great night's rest.
The pitchman and CEO of the company is Mike Lindell. He had went through a lot of rough patches before he cleaned up his act and became a very famous pitchman and businessman.
Lindell overcame drug abuse and criminal behavior. He turned his life around and became a CEO.
However his success also came with controversy. He became radicalized by the movement of a pitchman, business mogul and reality television star. Liddell became a vocal supporter of Donald J. Trump.
He fiercely defended Trump and even urged him to declare martial law to prevent the certification and inauguration of Joe Biden. He continued to promote baseless claims of voter fraud and felt that the election was stolen from Trump.
He vocally admits that he will not rest until Trump is back in office.
He even supported the deadly chaos at the U.S. Capitol in January.
Now he's finding the rough side of business. The boycott.
Companies are abandoning My Pillow. It was confirmed by Lindell that Kohl's and Bed Bath & Beyond have dropped the brand. There is pressure to have Amazon, Kroger, Walmart, AtHome and other businesses to drop My Pillow.
Lindell also found himself without a Twitter account. It was confirmed on Sunday that Twitter permanently banned Lindell from its platform after he repeatedly violated its civil integrity clause and promoted violence.
Lindell is also being watched by Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube.
Twitter didn’t say which of Lindell’s posts pushed it over the edge. But he had used his personal account and My Pillow’s corporate account in recent months to post and share bogus rumors about widespread election fraud that appeared aimed at undermining President Biden’s victory.
Lindell — who features prominently in My Pillow’s TV ads — has refused to walk back the claims even though they’ve been rejected by courts across the country.
Lindell continued to push bullshit. |
Lindell is also in the crosshairs of Dominion Voting Systems. The company is planning on suing him, Fox News and the Trump campaign for pushing baseless claims about their company being involved in voter fraud. Dominion has already sued Rudy Giuliani, L. Linn Wood and Sidney Powell.
Lindell is planning on suing The Daily Mail after the tabloid made the claims that he was secretly dating actress/comedian Jane Krakowski. The two deny dating.
The social media companies are cracking down on misinformation, racism and promotion of violence. The companies are hoping to take steps to ensure they're not encouraging another violent insurrection.
Trump was permanently banned on Twitter shortly after the chaos. He continued to push the narrative the election was stolen and he didn't show empathy nor concern for the chaos. At first, Twitter gave him a 12 hour ban and told him to remove the "We love you. Go home, in peace" video. Shortly after the 12 hour ban, Trump conceded and said he will not attend the inauguration and saying that he and his supporters will not be disrespected. That was flagged as a potential call for violence and Twitter finally banned him.
Trump had over 90 million followers before he got banned. |
Trump tried to go around the ban by posting on his @POTUS handle and campaign handle. Twitter halted the POTUS tag until Biden took the oath of office and Trump's multiple accounts were suspended.
The U.S. National Archives now retains his tweets and he's no longer allowed to be on social media. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and TikTok have suspended his accounts indefinitely due to the potential for violence and spread of misinformation.
