She played Baby Gonzo in the 1984 version of Jim Henson's Muppet Babies.
What's going to hurt the most is the voice role she had on The Simpsons. She played effeminate nerd Martin Prince, twin sisters Sherri and Terri and foreign exchange student Uter.
Her late husband was Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey Mouse.
Disney's CEO Bob Iger issued a statement.
Russi Taylor voiced many well-known characters in animation. The best known were Minnie Mouse and Martin from The Simpsons. |
"We're so grateful for Russi's talents as well as the tremendous spirit and great joy she brought to everything she did. It's was a privilege to have known her an an honor to have worked with her, and we take comfort in the knowledge that her work will continue to entertain and inspire for generations to come."
Born in Massachusetts, Russi became the official voice of Minnie Mouse in 1986 and carried it for over 30 years. She beat out over 200 competitors.
Bill Farmer, who voiced Goofy alongside Taylor said in a statement that she was "as wonderful, funny, and sweet as Minnie Mouse, and as talented yet humble as you would expect."
