Georgia Lawmaker Erica Thomas Was Greeted With Vile Verbal Racist Attack At A Grocery Store

Representative Erica Thomas was verbally attacked by a racist at Publix
She is nine-months pregnant and that no-good punk attacked her. #istandwitherica

Another person of Color was greeted with racist attack.  This time, in Georgia.

Nearly a week after the vile, racist tweet from a so-called president attacking four congresswomen of Color, a bigot came up to her while she was checking out groceries at a checkout lane in Georgia.

He told her to "go back where you came from"while shopping.  Her husband is away when the incident happened.  When will those racist men and women ever learn that you don't get away with insulting fellow Americans, especially Americans of Color?

Today, Twitter followers created the hashtag, #istandwitherica in support of Erica Thomas.

Here's the scoop of the story from Atlanta's WSB television station:

State rep. says man told her to 'go back where you came from' at grocery store
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A man accused of harassing an African American Georgia lawmaker at  a Cobb County grocery store has come forward to tell Channel 2 Action News his side of the story.
State Rep. Erica Thomas, who represents District 39, recorded an emotional Facebook Live video detailing what she says happened at a Publix in Mableton on Friday.
We'll show you the moments Erica Thomas and the man she accused confronted each other today, for the Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11 p.m.
Thomas said she was waiting in the express lane with her daughter when a man became angry over the number of items she had.
"This white man comes up to me and says 'you lazy son of [expletive]. You need to go back where you came from,'" the lawmaker said in her Facebook video. "Sir, you don't even know me. I'm not lazy. I'm nine months pregnant."
On Saturday afternoon, Channel 2's Christian Jennings went to interview Thomas about the incident. While she was there, the man Thomas accused of verbally attacking, Eric Sparkes, also showed up outside the Publix to tell his side of the story.
Sparkes claims he never said anything racist, although he did admit to cursing at Thomas for having too many items in the express checkout lane.
Sparkes told Jennings he is a Democrat and of Cuban nationality.

We were getting ready to interview Rep. @itsericathomas outside the @Publix where she says a man called her the B word and told her to “go back where you came from”. Well... that man...was already here at the Publix because he wanted to speak to management. She confronted him.

Thomas said she did not bring up her position in the Georgia House of Representatives during the incident and asked Sparkes to leave her and daughter alone.
"My child is just sitting there. 'Mama, why would he call you that?' I can't even explain to her why he has so much hate in his heart."
Thomas said Publix employees kicked Sparkes out and he kept coming back inside.
Publix sent a statement to Channel 2's Lauren Pozen, saying: "At Publix we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming shopping experience for all our customers. We are cooperating with local law enforcement as they look into the matter."

Thomas did not record the incident on her phone, but Channel 2's Chris Jose was told there is surveillance video and police are investigating.
Pozen spoke with attorney Gerald Griggs, who is on the board for Georgia's NAACP chapter. Griggs told Pozen another state representative brought Thomas' video to his attention.
“I was shocked, and I told them that the Georgia NAACP will do whatever they can to help in this case," he said.

Hatred and bigotry is spiraling out of control and it's getting uglier every single day thanks to that so-called president who said that bigots and racists are "good people".
Good people my A**!
