Thought You Were Slick!

U.S. Coast Guard worker caught making a white extremist gesture.
A member of the U.S. Coast Guard rescue team allegedly made a "WP" hand gesture on MSNBC.

The gesture is regarded as "White power/privilege" and its synonymous with the alt-right movement.

During a taping with Ali Velshi on MSNBC Live, Captain John Reed was discussing rescue efforts in South Carolina. While he was talking, a white worker turns his head towards the camera, flashes the gesture and then proceeds back to work.

The Coast Guard released a statement on Twitter, Friday night saying they were aware of the "offensive gesture" and the Coast Guard member, who has not been named, was removed from duties.

Social media caught the hand gesture and then it set of a chain of events that could lead to this individual being fired out the cannon.
