CBS fired its boss. Les Moonves was ousted from the board after a dozen women came forth with stories about this monster luring women into sexual favors. |
Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer, Louis CK, Bill O'Reilly, Russell Simmons, Mario Batali, Charlie Rose, Kevin Spacey, Roger Ailes, Roy Moore, Al Franken, John Conyers, Larry Nassar, Brett Ratner, Steve Wynn and many others have fallen because of the #MeToo Movement.
Also who are suffering because of #MeToo inlcude:
R. Kelly, Morgan Freeman, Sylvester Stallone, Anthony Anderson, Woody Allen and Urban Meyer faced the #MeToo/Time's Up shame as well.
Asia Argento, the Italian actress who accused Weinstein of rape years ago is also under fire herself.
Now Les Moonves joins the list of high profiled celebrities toppled by the activist movement.
As an employee of CBS, I would just like to say that Les Moonves should be fired without getting a fucking dollar. The actions described in this article are those of sexual assault and shame on anyone else in the corporation who knew about his crimes. https://t.co/1ItYyeLGmH— Rachel Bloom (@Racheldoesstuff) September 9, 2018
This is so awful. Please take the time to read the details about what Les Moonves did. Imagine what kind of monster sexually harasses and assaults his own doctor out of the blue at a check up. He should be listed as a sex offender and shouldn’t get a penny. All to charity. https://t.co/nTjqs6gWwM— Judd Apatow (@JuddApatow) September 10, 2018
Misogyny takes so many forms. Don’t think that the way Les Moonves treated @JanetJackson has nothing to do with these accusations of sexual abuse and harassment.— Jamil Smith (@JamilSmith) September 9, 2018
A) I have a story to tell and it's related to the whole Les Moonves situation. Normally, I hate when women are blamed for their husband's misconduct...it happens all the time. And after the first allegations against Leslie were revealed, I hoped his wife wouldn't face blowback.— Kathy Griffin (@kathygriffin) September 9, 2018
It's absolutely disgusting that Les Moonves is going to get a huge severance package after what he did. This is why women don't come forward when they've been the victims of sexual misconduct.— Kathy Griffin (@kathygriffin) September 7, 2018
Even when the men get fired, they still win.
CBS says $20 million will be "deducted" from Les Moonves' severance benefits and donated to "one or more organizations that support the #MeToo movement and equality for women in the workplace." pic.twitter.com/Ch6eKRuoQP— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) September 9, 2018
Moonves wanted Janet Jackson blacklisted from radio and television after the 2004 Superbowl Halftime debacle. |
CBS has formally fired Les Moonves out the cannon on Monday. Effective 12pm, Moonves will have no impact on the company.
Moonves had control of CBS, its news and entertainment division, Viacom, National Amusements, Showtime, The CW and MTV.
Moonves who is married to Julie Chen, the host of The Talk and Big Brother will discuss her husband today. Assured she will address the #MeToo Movement and how she has consider her husband being called a "predator."
CBS will offer a buyout and a portion of it estimated at $20 million will go to charity groups. Moonves should have been fired out the cannon without a dollar.
There were 12 women including actress Illeana Douglas claiming that Moonves would blacklist them if they refused sexual favors.
Moonves vowed to destroy Janet Jackson's career after the 2004 Superbowl Halftime show scandal.
Jackson who performed with Justin Timberlake finished their performance for Pepsi and CBS. Her pierced nipple was exposed for a brief second and it forced the FCC to fine CBS affiliates. Moonves was so angry, he ordered everyone in the CBS company to blacklist Jackson.
Now his career and possibly marriage is destroyed.
The law enforcement agencies haven't opened an investigation. If they do, Moonves would face criminal charges.
