Tweet, tweet...Twitter takes a stance against online trolls. |
The second largest social media website has decided to find reasonable ways to take on the ever so annoying internet troll. The internet troll is a person who is often seeking attention by causing disruptive discourse.
The social media website Twitter has decided the time is now for an abrupt overhaul of negativity.
What's being done is purely simple. Twitter wants the elimination of hate speech, links to terrorism, abusive trolling and inciting language wiped off the site.
Today, as part of our continued efforts to combat abuse, we're updating the Twitter Rules to clarify what we consider to be abusive behavior and hateful conduct. The updated language emphasizes that Twitter will not tolerate behavior intended to harass, intimidate, or use fear to silence another user's voice. As always, we embrace and encourage diverse opinions and beliefs. But we will continue to take action on accounts that cross the line into abuse.
So therefore, if a Twitter troll engages in contact with me if I post a video about a Black child being burned badly getting facial recognition, and a racial agitator starts throwing the NIGGER comment around, it should be easy for Twitter to spot it.
Leelah Alcorn was a pretty face lost to the ignorance of trolls. The young transgender teen killed herself after being tormented in school and rejected by her family. |
Facebook is trying to work on eliminating the trolling and negativity.
In memos to employees, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo had taken responsibility for this.
Many of the social tweets may come from groups the West deem a threat to society. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has taken to social media to promote their message against Western forces. They often show graphic videos and post messages threatening the United States and Europe.
The Twitter rules now will deal with potential attacks upon a person's race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability or disease.
It's going to be a needle in a haystack to find the ones who cause the trouble, but Twitter is devoted to getting rid of it.
Facebook troll got fired out the cannon for posting racially charged insult towards BlackLivesMatter protesters. |
This jackass Brad Schultz from Minnesota went to the official BlackLivesMatter website posting his feelings about the group's protest at the Mall of America. Schultz went into the website to complain about the protests.
"You dumb fuckin niggers. Get out of town with your bullshit protesting. The loser (Jamar Clark's) life deserved to get shot for not cooperating with police. You make yourselves look worse. Get off your ass, get a job, do something....Just leave, white people don't like you"
Someone captured his screenshot. They found out that he worked for Archer Daniels Midlands Company. The blog RacistsGetFired made contact with his employer.
He quickly apologized for his comments. He was pretty upset that the junk food media got a hold of his comments.
"I'm very sorry for the rude comments I made. It was cruel, and I didn't mean it. In no way is my workplace affiliated with these comments. Please delete them. Again, I'm truly sorry if I offended anyone".
The apology wasn't well received. Schultz was fired out the cannon yesterday by his company. They took to Twitter to formally state that this type of behavior is unacceptable and the person in question no longer works for the company.
This marks a year since the death of Leelah Alcorn, the transgender teen who committed suicide on Interstate 71 in South Lebanon, Ohio after she was being taunted in school and rejected by her family.
Her story told the tales of being shunned by the internet and being rejected by her family.
I also heard Erick Erickson isn't too happy about it. The notorious Twitter troll left his blog RedState to focus on TheResurgent. The conservative agitator filled in for that old fart Rush Limbaugh today.
Erickson complaining about liberals "forcing down Americans throat" political correctness.
