Hank Aaron: It Doesn't Surprise Me That [Republicans] Acting Like Those Bigots Who Threaten Me!

It ain't too hard to see, but I believe that the Republicans are acting just like those guys with the hoods on. - Hank Aaron.compares the Republicans and Tea Party to the Ku Klux Klan.

Baseball legend compares the inept Republicans to the Klan.

I couldn't agree with him more. It's the antics by the likes of Mitch McConnell, Louie Gohmert, and those annoying ass agitators on Loserville and talk radio that gives Hank Aaron that reason to believe race contributes to the president's proposals being shut down.

Speaking to USA Today Tuesday on the 40th anniversary of his then record-breaking 715th home run, the 80-year-old Aaron said that Republicans are hindering Obama’s job performance.

“Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

Aaron continued: “The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.”

Aaron stated that there is still room for improvement for race relations in the U.S.

“We have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements, but we still have a long ways to go in the country,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

Aaron goes on to describe the racist letters he has kept for decades as he was chasing Babe Ruth’s home run record.

“To remind myself that we are not that far removed from when I was chasing the record,” Aaron explained to USA Today Sports. “If you think that, you are fooling yourself. A lot of things have happened in this country, but we have so far to go. There’s not a whole lot that has changed.”

Aaron was honored before the Braves game against the New York Mets on Tuesday night with a ceremony commemorating the 40th anniversary of his 715th home run, the one that pushed him past Babe Ruth and gave him the major league record.

Aaron finished with 755 home runs, but was eventually passed on the career list by Barry Bonds, whose career was tarnished by steroids allegations. Bonds has 762 homers, but many baseball fans don’t accept that number and stand by Aaron as the true record-holder.

Speaking with reporters after the ceremony, Selig was asked about Aaron being called the true home run king.

“I’m always in a sensitive spot there, but I’ve said that myself and I’ll just leave it at that,” Selig said.

During the ceremony Braves chairman Terry McGuirk said Aaron “set the home-run record the old-fashioned way” and added “You will always be the home run king of all time.”

Retired Braves broadcaster Pete Van Wieren earned a big ovation when he said Aaron is “still recognized as baseball’s true home run king.”
Mr. Aaron forgot that we Republicans freed them slaves - John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.
Aaron, 80, was given a standing ovation in the ceremony before the game. Aaron broke Ruth’s record with his homer on April 8, 1974, off the Dodgers’ Al Downing.

Downing attended the ceremony and threw out the first pitch. Some of Aaron’s 1974 teammates returned, including Dusty Baker, who was on-deck when the record-breaking homer was hit, Ralph Garr, Phil Niekro, Ron Reed, Marty Perez and Tom House, who caught the homer in the bullpen.

Aaron thanked fans “for all your kindness all these many years.” Aaron, recovering from recent hip-replacement surgery, used a walker.

“The game of baseball was a way that I relaxed myself each year that I went on the field for 23 years,”
Aaron said. “I gave baseball everything that I had, everything, every ounce of my ability to play the game I tried to play to make you the fans appreciate me more. Thank you.”

Selig, Aaron’s longtime friend, established the Hank Aaron Award in 1999 to honor the top hitter in each league.

He called Aaron’s 715th homer “the most famous and treasured record in American sports.”

Selig said Aaron was a worthy successor to Ruth as home-run king “because he is the living embodiment of the American spirit. … Baseball is forever our national pastime because of people like Henry Aaron.”

The Braves wore their 1970s era white-and-blue uniforms, complete with small “a” caps, in tribute to Aaron.

The Braves are wearing an Aaron 40th anniversary patch on their uniform sleeves this season.

The numbers “715″ were painted on the outfield grass, stretching from left-center to right-center.

The Braves unveiled Aaron jerseys from other college and professional teams in the Atlanta area. Falcons owner Arthur Blank, former Georgia coach and athletic director Vince Dooley and former Georgia Tech coach Bill Curry were among those who stood with their teams’ jerseys adorned with Aaron’s name and No. 44.

The outfield was filled with fans, each wearing blue 44 Braves jerseys and each holding baseball-shaped signs bearing numbers from 1 to 715.

Perennial Loser Mitt Romney: One Year Later, Still A Failure!

One year later they still continue to be total asshole.

CBS This Morning had the opportunity to meet Mr. and Mrs. Condescending. They come back to reflect on their days on the election trail and the great epic fail of Obamacare.

Perennial loser Mitt Romney had an opportunity to get a dig at President Barack Obama's handling of the healthcare law.

With Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell, the perennial loser and Ann spoke out against the president's "honesty".

"What starts twisted stays twisted," says the perennial loser to Charlie Rose.

"The real problem that the president has is a broken promise. That’s of course, what’s really striking at the heart of his term."

"When the systems are working, people will still lose, and already have, millions of people losing their insurance they were promised they would not," he continued.

"And you think the president lied to the American people on purpose for a political gain?" Rose asked.

Norah O'Donnell asks the perennial loser if the fighting within the Republican Party could damage their chances in the 2016 presidential election.

"The place that my campaign, and I, fell short was probably being able to speak openly and effectively to minority populations," he confessed.

"So, do you now favor an immigration proposal?" O’Donnell asked.

"I am absolutely convinced that the Republican Party must deal with immigration," Romney asserted.

I'm assuring that the Republican controlled House of Representatives will fail at pass comprehensive immigration reform. I won't make a $10,000 bet to prove a point.

Arizona GOP Lawmaker Says Obama Is Hitler-Like!

Pretty ugly.

A state lawmaker is going through an apology tour right now. Saying things that pretty much sum up the Republican Party's obsession with the 20th Century and its greatest threats. Pretty much advocating the ugly comparisons between the first Black president and history's worst leader.

Arizona state lawmaker Brenda Banton says that the closing of the national parks in her state of Arizona is kind of "Hitler-esque".

She would go to the social networks to rant to her supporters about how "de fuhrer Obama is paying the National Park Service thugs overtime for their efforts to carry out the order... where are our Constitutional Sheriffs who can revoke the Park Service Rangers authority to arrest??? Do we have any Sheriffs with a pair?"

Again, how come its always the ones who claim they're smart when they can't complete a full sentence?

Yeah, you have the right to scream HITLER and compare that to President Barack Obama.

  • Someone is paying the National Park Service thugs overtime for their efforts to carry out the order of De Fuhrer... where are our Constitutional Sheriffs who can revoke the Park Service Rangers authority to arrest??? Do we have any Sheriffs with a pair?

It's a good thing that the president doesn't go all autocratic and order a final shutdown of opposition.

Loserville or King Hippo would be wiped off the map if they were to piss off the leader.

But that's not going to happen. President Barack Obama understand there's opposition. He rather let the public use their channel changers or their wallets to defeat these pests.

Hey, Brenda!

You need to point your ugly ass finger in the direction of the U.S. Capitol and get on the phone with your U.S. Representative Trent Franks (R-Arizona). Tell him and the many other Republicans to stop the games and pass a clean budget resolution.

Get the government back to work.

So far Republicans are taking most of the blame for the government shutdown.

But since we have Loserville, King Hippo and That Guy Who Throws Shit To The Wall, I guess it's the president's fault as well.

GOP Pulls The Plug On CNN and NBC!

Still search for the rainbow. The Republican chairman Reince Priebus is upset over CNN and NBC plans to produce biographies on Hillary Clinton. Probably isolating more voters. They're weaker than I've thought!

The Republican National Committee voted to ban CNN and Obama News from participating in the 2015 - 2016 Republican primary debates. They have decided that the possibility of making a documentary on the life of Hillary Clinton was too much for them to swallow.

Seeing how desperate the Republicans are, they've lashed out at two media giants at their own peril.

See you can't have every debate on Loserville. It's obvious that Loserville is the Republican talking points network because it's coverage is like a Republican campaign ad.

Chairman Reince Priebus is still searching for the rainbow. That Republican rainbow is mostly WHITE.

I guess this threat is real. Since the networks are full steam ahead on the bios, CNN and Obama News are dropped. The vote was unanimous.

Priebus said CNN has "an obvious bias."
Republicans whining about Hillary Clinton got CNN and NBC banned from debates. Republicans applaud Loserville for anti-Obama stories and George W. Bush bios.
"That's a network that won't be hosting a single Republican primary debate," Priebus declared, receiving a standing ovation from Republican activists from across the country gathered for the committee's summer meeting in Boston.

In a statement, CNN said a division of the company planned to air a documentary about Clinton in 2014.

"The project is in the very early stages of development, months from completion," the CNN statement read. "We encouraged all interested parties to wait until the program premieres before judgments are made about it. Unfortunately, the RNC was not willing to do that."

Even before the Clinton dispute, Republican leaders favored plans to have fewer presidential debates with more friendly moderators. They believe their 2012 presidential candidates spent too much time beating up on each other in last year's monthslong primary season, contributing to Mitt Romney's loss.

"Our party should not be involved in setting up a system that encourages the slicing and dicing of candidates over a long period of time with moderators that are not in the business of being at all concerned about the future of our party," Priebus told reporters.

Democratic National Committee spokesman Michael Czin criticized Friday's vote.

"Instead of modifying their policies to actually present smart solutions for middle class families, the only thing the GOP can unite behind is a plan to continue to limit the audiences and voters to whom they will communicate," he said.

And to that is a big shrug and sigh.

They're really afraid of Hillary Clinton. They can't stand her. They really can't stand President Barack Obama. They've shown the president more disrespect since he's taken office in 2009.

The Republican Party is on the slow path to becoming the Whigs. Soon the factions will fight with on another. Then they'll split.

The libertarians will feud with the establishment. The moderates will fight against the conservatives. The Tea Party will fight against the Republican leadership. These deep divisions are known.
Republicans fear Hillary Clinton could be the next President of The United States.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and New Jersey governor Chris Christie have put the family business out there.

And while they're all unified against President Barack Obama, I'll bet you that if Hillary Clinton should run, the Republicans will eventually throw everything at her and end up costing the election once again.

No candidate from both parties seems viable to be president. The only person I see viable as the President of the United States is San Antonio mayor Julian Castro.

Hopefully he'll be able to take an opportunity to explore his opinions.

Of course, I believe the CNN and Obama News ban is temporary. They'll regret cutting off the networks.

Not all Republicans watch Loserville.

Slight Work!

Before he travels to Massachusetts, the president was handed some bad news. Edward Snowden eludes authorities, the jobs report, and his job approval. All of this happens before he celebrates his 52nd birthday.

Today, job numbers of the month of July provided a modest amount of jobs. Not enough to move the needle further down but enough to be satisfactory.

The U.S. Labor Department report that the month of July had hiring jobs at 162,000.

This will drop the unemployment number to 7.4%.

In order to get a stronger economy, the U.S. job market must produce over 200,000 jobs a month in order to provide a better outlook of our economy.

Also with weak hiring in the service industry it assures that the greedy continue to punish the workers. With the healthcare law going into effect, many industries are forcing labor cuts. The cuts on labor start with dropping part time workers to less than 30 hours of work. Then it forces the worker to find secondary jobs to accommodate to paying off debt, bills and loans.
Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and Congressman John Boehner (R-Ohio). These two are high ranking leaders of the House of Representatives. Boehner is the current Speaker of The House. He replaced Pelosi as the speaker in 2011. During his tenure, the 112th and 113th Congress has been ranked on the worst in history.

Congress is off for its summer recess, leaving behind a mountain of legislation that may be scrapped by the time of the U.S. Midterm elections. The president's agenda includes gun control, immigration reform, and a jobs package. Not to mention the raising of our debt ceiling and fiscal budget for the next session.

We're in a sequester and the federal agencies are cutting back due to the ineptness of lawmakers.

Congress overall job approval is at 14%.

President Barack Obama's job approval is at 43%.

CNBC's Jeff Cox reports this bit of news as another "so-so" moment in job growth.

[Where as the] broader gauge of unemployment that includes the underemployed and those who have quit looking for work also fell, from 14.3 percent in June to 14 percent in July: This hasn't move the needle for a steady pace in job growth.

"Today's jobs data is terrifying for Main Street," said Todd M. Schoenberger, managing partner at LandColt Capital in New York. "Despite the proactive actions from the Fed and stimulus help from Capitol Hill, the labor market remains stuck in quicksand. For Wall Street, however, this is terrific news."
Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) and Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) have often clashed over legislation and the president's nominees. McConnell is the current Minority Leader of the Senate. Reid is the current Majority Leader. McConnell is an embattled politico. He has to face an onslaught of opposition from the Democrats and members of the Tea Party who are willing to force a Republican primary against him. The Senate has passed immigration reform but killed off a background check law for firearms.
Most of the job creation came on the low end—in the retail trade and hospitality industry of bartenders and wait staff, with respective gains of 47,000 and 38,000.

Professional and business services also added 36,000.

Previous months' job creation numbers were revised lower, bucking a trend in which the counts mainly have been taken up.

The BLS now puts May job growth at 176,000 from the previously reported 195,000, while June's figure fell to 188,000 from 195,000.

At the same time, long-term unemployment rose, with the average duration of joblessness now at 36.6 weeks.

And wage growth fell: After rising 10 cents an hour last month, average wages fell 2 cents to $23.98 an hour, while the average work week decreased by 0.1 hours to 34.4 hours.

The jobs number is a critical metric for Federal Reserve decision-making.

The U.S. central bank has pegged a 6.5 percent unemployment rank for one of two benchmarks that will signal it's time to start normalizing interest rates.

However, a steady move lower also would push the Fed toward pulling back on the $85 billion a month bond-buying program known as quantitative easing.

"The self-sustaining trend in employment growth is likely strong enough to allow the Federal Reserve to begin tapering its quantitative easing by the end of the year," said Kathy Bostjancic, director of macroeconomic analysis at The Conference Board.

Prospects of a QE tapering helped send markets into a selling frenzy in late May, but that has abated and stock market indexes have reached new highs as investors became convinced that a rate increase is still a long way off.

In addition to a falling jobless rate, the Fed is looking for inflation to increase to 2.5 percent.

Liberals: Should Obama Help Oklahoma?

Being human outweighs the toxic political environment.
Dozens of Americans lost their lives in a tragedy. And yet, our politicians and those in the junk food media can't put aside their differences to help one another.

See how toxic our politics have turned! Even in the event of a natural disaster, our liberal and conservative agitators continue the war one on another. They throw shit to the wall hoping it would stick. Each of them pointing fingers at President Barack Obama in the process.

The state of Oklahoma is facing one of the worst natural disasters in American history. A EF-5 tornado rips through Oklahoma City and its suburbs.

Our liberal friends are nudged about how President Barack Obama is willing to help a state he would get the least amount of support. A state that is 89% Republican and 11% other (include Democrats).
Moore, Oklahoma destroyed by an EF5 tornado.
A state that President Barack Obama only gets 34% job approval.

Of course, you're familiar with how conservatives treat our president. In one sentence they'll claim they love this country and Jesus Christ. The next sentence would contain a word vomit of President Barack Obama, liberalism, hatred of Islam and the LGBT community.

Some online are saying why should we help?

Answer: It's the right thing to do!

I know it's hard to stomach the vitriol from Republicans and the conservatives. Even in a state like Oklahoma. It's still the way of Americans to help one another in the time of need.

They may never like the president. He know it.

Politics takes a backseat. President Barack Obama knows that. Even though his rivals continue to show no compassion for him or those in the nation, he continues forth. Despite the nasty hateful and even racist rhetoric from some, the president will lend his hand to his greatest enemy.

Oklahoma will recover and we will stand in faith with them. We here at Journal de la Reyna send our prayers and condolences to those in Oklahoma.

Is Obama "Mad" On Power?

President Barack Obama is facing strong opposition, criticism and never ending attacks from the Republicans. The president's Democratic allies are starting to show concern for him.

Sure, if you're a conservative vowing to see the first Black president get impeach by the low approved Congress.

But the real focus is on whether the president or Congress has been effective in getting things done.

The president hasn't got many of his nominees for federal post confirmed by the U.S. Senate. The president hasn't got any federal judges approved by the senate.

The president hasn't got many of his proposals passed lately. He is determined to get immigration reform passed. He still is working to get gun control back on the table. He is trying to figure out ways to get Congress to pass legislation to get people back to work.

I mean never in my day I have seen this much rancor from the political opposition. The Republican Party is failing the country yet again by holding committee hearings on these distractions.

Benghazi is a never-ending "I gotcha moment in counterterrorism!" The September 11, 2012 attack on a U.S. consulate killing four American diplomats (CIA operatives) is the "worse" incident since 9/11 according to Republicans. So instead focusing on how to prevent this from happening again, Republicans spent eight months trying to find "answers" to how the president mislead the nation. They're focusing on talking points and Hillary Clinton. They're using the dead as "props" for political gain.

The IRS scandal is another issue. The president doesn't have an official IRS chief since he's been in office.

The resigning IRS chief was a Bush appointed worker. Still the impact was felt through the "deliberate" targeting of conservative groups by IRS auditors. Since the Citizens United decision, there was flood of groups that were devoted to trying to stop the president from winning reelection.

The Associated Press scandal is another issue. The Republican Party claimed that the president and the Attorney General Eric Holder were deliberately leaking information about counter-terrorism. They were upset over the leaks being sent to the press. So when the Justice Department acts on closing up leaks, here comes the outrage from them.

I will tell you honestly, this have been a bad week for President Barack Obama.

The low approved Congress wasted time trying to repeal Obamacare for the umpteenth time.

The liberals are showing sympathy with the conservative agitators on the IRS and Associated Press scandals.

Why should we allow these "pathetic" issues continue?

Because it's the ugly side of politics. Whenever you're in the losing corner, you're bitter!

The Republicans are bitter and driven mad with their hatred of the first Black president. If you're not seeing this with your own two eyes, then there's no hope for you!

If President Barack Obama was mad on power as those in the conservative agitating media claim, how come it's these guys who threaten to use their "Second Amendment" rights upon the president?

How come the president's nominees and federal judge appointments get stalled and filibustered?

How come the president can't just use Executive Orders to get things done?

How come the president won reelection and the Republicans didn't capture the U.S. Senate?

It's not the president, mad on power! It's the Republicans, the greedmongers of corporate America, the religious zealots who push upon bigotry of those who are different to their faith. It's not president who threatens the American people, it's the Republican Party and its allies in the conservative movement.

These guys have the powerful voice in Loserville, King Hippo, the National Rifle Association, The Guy Who Throws Shit On The Wall, and these ridiculous Republican lawmakers rushing to cameras trying to outcrazy one another.

I am sick and tired of seeing John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Ted Cruz, Jim Inhofe, Louie Gohmert, Steve Stockman, Jason Chaffez, Marco Rubio, John McCain, Kelly Ayotte, Trent Franks, Tom Cotton, Darrell Issa and other Republicans who are quick to run to the cameras to whine about how they hate the president.

I bet you that for the next three weeks, this stuff will continue and then soon we'll have another mass shooting in a part of America! The junk food media (as usual) will cover it. Then all this crap will go away for now because the battle will once again shift to gun violence in America.

Of course, we'll have to blame someone right?

Mr. Sanford Goes Back To Washington!

Who said I'm disgraced? - Mark Sanford, representative-elect of South Carolina. He managed to beat Democratic challenger Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert.

The Republicans can blow a sigh of relief.

The 1st Congressional District in South Carolina is going to be a Republican hold.

Former governor Mark Sanford can be called Congressman yet again. The controversial politico managed to beat the Democratic challenger Elizabeth Colbert-Busch in a nail biting race where the Republican National Committee put limited action in it. Sanford rejuvenated his campaign after he made his awkward apology to the constituents. He also mocked Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Democratic congresswoman from California.

Sanford played upon the fears of a Democratic majority and the economic turmoils.

A chance at completing political redemption proved to be fruitful for the politico.

Sanford was best remembered as the governor who took a hike down to see his mistress.

Sanford will return back to the seat he once held back in the late 1990s. He gave up his seat to run for governor. The current governor of South Carolina, Republican Nikki Haley ordered a special election for the seat after she nominated Black Republican Tim Scott to become the U.S. Senator. Scott replaced Jim DeMint as the senator of the state. He signals he'll run for a full term.

Even though he didn't get help from his former staffers and ex-wife Jenny, Sanford can rest easy tonight knowing that the people of South Carolina are forgiving him for his past sins.

And even though Republican influence was limited to this race, the conservatives came out for the Midterm election whereas the liberals stayed at home

Colbert-Busch is the sister of entertainer Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central.

The Democrats thought they could pull an upset in a seat that is considered politically impossible.

The 1st Congressional District is 18+ more Republican according to the Cook Report.
Elizabeth Colbert-Busch fought a hard race against a formidable and yet controversial politico.
Sanford, who served as governor of the Palmetto State from 2003 to 2011, defeated businesswoman Elizabeth Colbert Busch. Sanford had said Tuesday that if he did not win, he would not run for office again, the Associated Press reported.

Of course, the Representative-Elect will be signaled as potentially corrupt by the Citizens for Responsible Ethics in Washington.

So Republicans, you're newest member is a former. Welcome to the fold Mark Sanford. Hope your problems will become the Republicans problems.

Feds: Oops, Our Bad!

The [Feds] Shaking The Wrong Tree! - Paul Kevin Curtis as an Elvis impersonator.  U.S. law enforcement officials drop the charges against a man who they've accused of sending ricin letters to President Barack Obama.

The ricin letters sent to the President of the United States and Senator Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi) were sent by an extremist. But guess what the federal authorities done?

They arrested the wrong guy!

Yeah, this guy has dressed like Elvis Presley and had mental issues, but he's not the one who sent the poison letters to the president.

The FBI couldn't find evidence to link P. Kevin Curtis, a Mississippi man who once entertained an event being sponsored by Wicker was singled out by the feds as the one who sent ricin letters to a judge, the senator and then the president.

The federal official says the man charged with sending poison letters to President Barack Obama, a U.S. senator and a Mississippi judge has been released from jail.

Jeff Woodfin, chief deputy with the U.S. Marshals Service in Oxford, Miss., says Paul Kevin Curtis has been released from custody.
Vindication.
Woodfin says he doesn't know if there were any conditions on the release.

The development comes hours after officials canceled a detention and preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Curtis was arrested Wednesday at his house in Corinth, Miss., and charged with sending ricin-laced letters to Obama, Sen. Roger Wicker and a Lee County, Miss., judge.

Through an attorney, the 45-year-old Curtis has said he is innocent.

An innocent man was set up and we in the blogosphere felt that we were misled by the junk food media.

I admit that I was duped as well as the U.S. Justice Department.

While he's life will eventually return to normal, Mr. Curtis we here at Journal de la Reyna wish you well and hope you can put this ordeal behind you!

This is an ongoing story. This controversy will continue to be covered. We seek justice against the individuals who sent the ricin letters to the president and Senator Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi).

Congress Fails Newtown!

26 lives were lost by a madman with a gun. The families of the victims can't budge a stubborn Congress. The U.S. Senate managed to defeat a watered-down gun control bill. This is why Congress is terrible. They can't fathom reality.

Movie director/activist Michael Moore was right.

If a tragic shooting would happen to fall upon the nation and it has to be an event that affects one of these lawmakers' children, then you'll see change. If a lawmaker loses their child to the tragedies at Sandy Hook or the Boston Marathon, then you'll expect the lawmaker push for gun control.

Moore stated that members of Congress should get an opportunity to look at the graphic photos of those dead bodies at Sandy Hook Elementary.

As predicted, the low approved Congress failed the people of Newtown, Connecticut. The conservative wing of the U.S. Senate (mixture of Democrats and Republican lawmakers) gave the American people a vote. A vote to allow the mentally ill and criminals access to firearms and explosives. A vote to continue the unregistered firearms to be traded within the underground. A vote to give a gunman over 30 rounds in a magazine clip.

Wayne LaPierre and David Keane can pat themselves on the back! They've put the fear in Congress. The National Rifle Association managed to keep the gun industry even more profitable.

The failure of gun control assures continuous gun trade without background checks ensures another extremist an opportunity to gain access to firearms.

Soon we'll see another tragedy to fall upon a suburban area and the media once again pointing their finger at the lawmakers for putting their partisan bullshit ahead of the victims.

President Barack Obama was clearly angry with this.
The bromance is over. Senator Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) and Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pennsylvania) couldn't even muster enough votes to pass a conservative gun control bill.

The Senate vote was a major blow to Obama's push on gun control. Expanding background checks was the focal point of Obama's proposals drafted after the December shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn.

Vice President Joe Biden said just before the vote that tighter gun control measures will eventually pass, suggesting the White House wouldn't abandon its push even though the vote appeared headed toward failure.

A majority of senators backed the measure, but it fell well short of the 60 votes needed to advance. Forty-one Republicans and five Democrats sided together to scuttle the plan.

Democrats from the RED states helped the Republicans defeat the proposed gun control measures from Senators Pat Toomey (R-Pennsylvania) and Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia). These two politicos are conservative and partisan to say at least.

Republican Leader Slams Ashley Judd!

Embattled Republican leader mocks actress Ashley Judd.

Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader is from Kentucky. He is very unpopular in the state. But it's likely they'll settle with him over the opponent. The state is fairly conservative. The state could elect Democrats to the state house, but when it comes to national elections, the state is likely a Republican pick-up. The Democratic Party was hoping to find a candidate that's viable to defeat the embattled Republican senator.
Ashley Judd.

The actress and activist Ashley Judd was thinking about moving to The Bluegrass State. There was talk in the junk food media she could run against him. They were seriously rooting for a historical race.

Alas, that didn't happen. Judd decided to not seek the Democratic nomination.

McConnell is well funded and established as a senator.

Well today, the Republican leader is asking for assistance from the FBI to find out how his choice words about Ashley Judd leaked to the press.

Mother Jones, the liberal investigative/news agitation magazine once again drops a gem out there for the public to hear.

While at his campaign office in Louisville, the senator and his staff were devising a plan on how to take out Ashley Judd if she would announce her run for the senate.

In February, a recording of the private meeting between the senator and his staffers turned out some really condescending themes about the actress.

I assume most of you have played the, the game Whac-A-Mole?” (Laughter.) This is the Whac-A-Mole period of the campaign…when anybody sticks their head up, do them out.

The talk about Judd being a "mental case!"

She's clearly, this sounds extreme, but she is emotionally unbalanced. I mean it's been documented. Jesse can go in chapter and verse from her autobiography about, you know, she's suffered some suicidal tendencies. She was hospitalized for 42 days when she had a mental breakdown in the '90s.

The talk about Judd being a "Hollywood elitist!" Calling it anesthesia.

I call it the American anesthesia. You know, I come back to this country. I freak out in airports. The colors, the sounds, all those different ways of packaging the same snack but trying to, you know, make it look like it's distinct and different and convince consumers that they have to have it. I mean all of that. The last time I came home from a trip, I absolutely flipped out when I saw pink fuzzy socks on a rack. I mean, I can never anticipate what is going to push me over the edge.

These are the oodles of goodies that the senator had against the actress. You see this guy is very nasty in his politics. That's probably why he's won so many times. He digs into the bottom of the barrel.

McConnell asked the FBI to investigate how the meeting leaked to the press. Mother Jones stated that the tape was recording from an anonymous source.

The campaign released a statement criticizing the media (for catching them saying these awful things about Ashley Judd).

Jesse Benton, McConnell's campaign manager, released a statement responding to this story on Tuesday morning: "We’ve always said the Left will stop at nothing to attack Sen. McConnell, but Nixonian tactics to bug campaign headquarters is above and beyond. Senator McConnell’s campaign is working with the FBI and has notified the local U.S. Attorney in Louisville, per FBI request, about these recordings. Obviously a recording device of some kind was placed in Sen. McConnell’s campaign office without consent. By whom and how that was accomplished will presumably be the subject of a criminal investigation."

To make this clear, you criticize the opponent in nasty themes and it leaked to the press. And now you're calling the opponent "Nixonian" because they've caught you in the act!

Mother Jones responded back.

We are still waiting for Sen. Mitch McConnell to comment on the substance of the article. Before posting, we contacted his Senate office and his campaign office—in particular, his campaign manager, Jesse Benton—and no one responded. As the story makes clear, we were recently provided with the tape by a source who wishes to remain anonymous. We published the article on the tape due to its obvious newsworthiness. We were not involved in the making of the tape, but it is our understanding that the tape was not the product of any kind of bugging operation. We cannot comment beyond that, except to say that under the circumstances, our publication of the article is both legal and protected by the First Amendment.

Campaign manager Jesse Benton is married to Kentucky Senator Rand Paul's niece. Which means that Benton is kinfolk to Senator Rand Paul and former Texas Congressman Ron Paul by marriage.

Jay-Z & Beyonce Celebrate Anniversary In Cuba!

Get the siren, Drudge: The Carters are in Havana.

Jay-Z appears on Roc-A-Fella Records/RocNation.
Beyonce appears on Columbia Records/Sony Music Group.

That guy who throws shit to the wall hoping it will stick, the turd flipper, King Hippo, and that guy who helped Obama win will be complaining about it soon.

Since Jay-Z and Beyonce are the biggest supporters of President Barack Obama, the conservative agitating and the remaining portions of the junk food media will complain about them being "communist" and "traitors".

Seeing they've celebrated five years of marriage, the couple goes to Cuba to celebrate with paparazzi in toe.

The couple had to wear bulletproof vest due to the security restrictions and the Cuba's customs on celebrity travels. The couple usually carries a high volume of security members.

But since when is it not allowed to travel to Cuba?

Didn't the president sign an executive order lifting travel restrictions to Cuba?

Anyway, two Florida Republican lawmakers want to have the U.S. State Department look into the matter!

Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart have written a letter to Adam Szubin, director of the United States’ Office of Foreign Assets Control, seeking information on the type of licence the pair of stars received for their travel to Cuba. The Caribbean Journal reports the two representatives were totally pissed and are demanding an investigation into the matter.

The letter wrote by the two included here:

Dear Director Szubin:

We write to express concern and to request information regarding the highly publicized trip by U.S. musicians Beyoncé Knowles-Carter (Beyoncé) and Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) to Cuba. We would like to respectfully request, within all applicable rules and guidelines, information regarding the type of license that Beyoncé and Jay-Z received, for what purpose, and who approved such travel.

As you know, U.S. law expressly prohibits the licensing of financial transactions for “tourist activities” in Cuba (Section 910(b)(1) of the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act). If these individuals were given people-to-people licenses, we would like to bring to your attention the Cuba Travel Advisory issued by OFAC on July 25, 2011 which states, “OFAC only licenses People-to-People Groups that certify that all participants will have a full-time schedule of educational exchange activities that will result in meaningful interaction between the travelers and individuals in Cuba.” These restrictions are in place because the Cuban dictatorship is one of four U.S.-designated state sponsors of terrorism with one of the world’s most egregious human rights records. Cuba’s tourism industry is wholly state-controlled; therefore, U.S. dollars spent on Cuban tourism directly fund the machinery of oppression that brutally represses the Cuban people.

Despite the clear prohibition against tourism in Cuba, numerous press reports described the couple’s trip as tourism, and the Castro regime touted it as such in its propaganda. We represent a community of many who have been deeply and personally harmed by the Castro regime’s atrocities, including former political prisoners and the families of murdered innocents. The restrictions on tourism travel are common-sense measures meant to prevent U.S. dollars from supporting a murderous regime that opposes U.S. security interests at every turn and which ruthlessly suppresses the most basic liberties of speech, assembly, and belief. We support the Cuban people by refusing to sustain their jailers.

Thank you very much for your assistance in this important matter and look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen Mario Diaz-Balart

Member of Congress Member of Congress

US citizens are permitted to travel to Cuba only under certain licences, such as people-to-people travel or educational endeavors.

“We would like to respectfully request, within all applicable rules and guidelines, information regarding the type of licence that Beyoncé and Jay-Z received, for what purpose, and who approved such travel,” the lawmakers wrote.
US Lawmakers Express “Concern” Over Jay-Z, Beyonce Cuba Trip
Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Florida) and Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Florida) are pissed that Jay-Z and Beyonce traveled to Cuba for their anniversary.
“If these individuals were given people-to-people licenses, we would like to bring to your attention the Cuba Travel Advisory issued by OFAC on July 25, 2011 which states, ‘OFAC only licenses People-to-People Groups that certify that all participants will have a full-time schedule of educational exchange activities that will result in meaningful interaction between the travelers and individuals in Cuba,’” they wrote.

Jay-Z and Beyonce in Havana, Cuba.
Both Members of Congress have been longtime critics of Cuba’s government.

The two said that, because Cuba’s tourism industry is “wholly state-owned,” “US dollars spent on Cuban tourism directly fund the machinery of oppression that brutally represses the Cuban people.”

In other words, we're pissed that two celebrities who openly endorsed President Barack Obama went to Cuba. So that makes the president a "communist", right?

Jay-Z and Beyonce, have fun. Ignore the haters!

I'm coming to the conclusion that conservatives are worthless and their fussing and screaming amounts to little or no action from the progressives. It's time to hit them where it hurts. We need to get more active in politics to stop the Republicans and their allies in the conservative movement. They're still stuck on Reagan and the 20th Century. If you're a progressive/liberal, you want progress to move forward.

There's no need to hide from the hate mongering of those who spent their lives trying to divide us! Loserville and the guy who sticks shit on the wall hoping it will stick have failed, and hopefully the Republicans see it! They need to cut the vein and move to the middle. Keep being conservative and all, but drop the racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, anti-choice, and condescending rhetoric and maybe you'll win elections!

The race card is burning a hole in the Republican Party's donors pockets.

In other non-story news, two more Democrats come out in favor of gay marriage. Indiana's Joe Donnelly and North Dakota's Heidi Heitkamp got the message. These two came from states that perennial loser Mitt Romney won! These two are slightly conservative. Unlike West Virginia's Joe Manchin who got his head up some dude's ass!

Democrats were warned by their rich liberal allies that if they don't support gay marriage, immigration reform and allow cuts to domestic programs, they'll suffer at the ballot box.

Republicans: Obama Wants Us To Suffer!

Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) and Republicans are scrambling over sequester cuts.

You can't have it both ways, Republicans! For one thing, you got your freaking spending cuts.

The president wants revenue increases. It's a simple tax increase on the wealthy. Republicans don't want no part of this. They figure the way to saving the economy is austerity cuts. They want to starve the government.

Compromise isn't an easy thing here in Washington, D.C. Right now Rand Paul, the controversial Republican senator from Kentucky spent a majority of his time filibustering the president's nominees and even turning down Congressman Paul Ryan's budget. He signals that he will once again filibuster the upcoming proposals by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California). She wants a stronger firearm background checks and the Republican senator along with Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) are going to work in unison to stop it along with other proposals. Immigration reform also has Republicans pouting at the mouth and probably threatening to derail it.

Paul figured the budget proposals didn't go far enough on spending cuts, so he voted against it with the Democratic majority.

Rubio figured it wasn't going to seal the borders, so he will filibuster against immigration reform.

Cruz wants to lecture lawmakers on how to read the U.S. Constitution. If you're proposing laws that restrict firearms, he's filibustering it.

Since two members of the Republican senate came in favor of gay marriage, the Republicans threaten to primary them. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Senator Mark Kirk (R-Illinois) are facing threats of primary challenges for their support.

The Congressional Republicans are upset that the White House has canceled tours.

Do you think the president want the Republicans to suffer?

I mean the blinking contest has taken a toll on the president and Congress.

The Republicans refuse revenues and the Democrats refuse austerity cuts to domestic programs.

They both equally detest shared sacrifices.

GOP Congressman Utters Racial Slur!

Another Republican caught in a firestorm over racial comments.

The Citizens for Responsible Ethics in Washington has been a thorn in Alaskan Republican Representative Don Young backside for years. CREW's chief Melanie Sloan has been trying to get this foolish politico out of the Capitol for years. This guy is under investigation for numerous earmarks. The lobbyists love this guy!

The king of pork and shady dealings is one again in the news for all the wrong reasons.

While the Republican National Committee is working on its image, their biggest problem lies within it's primarily white male voters. The reactionary bigotry inherited by White conservatives have totally turned off minority groups and women.

If this last election didn't prove to be a wake up call for Republicans, I don't know what else they've got!

Seriously, Republicans are condescending and totally ignorant. They continue to run on stupid.

Now Alaskan congressman Young uttered a racial slur that will piss off the Hispanic/Latino community.

He made a reference to his days living in California with his dad. He called the laborers, "wetbacks".

Now being from the cold northernmost state seriously got him delusional. How could a legislator say such things?

Every member of the Republican establishment condemned that comment and it took three official apologies from the congressman to realize the error of his ways.

Republicans are total idiots. And it always begins with this!

Michele Bachmann: Obama Wants Revenge On Me!

She didn't say this comment but I figured that anything that involves her getting a share of controversy, I am guessing that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) will pull President Barack Obama out of her pocket of excuses.

The former presidential candidate is under probe for using campaign funds inappropriately.

Citizens for Responsible Ethics in Washington has the former presidential candidate's campaign involved in two email blasts to thousands of home school advocates after a staffer allegedly stole the list from the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators.

Urbandale, Iowa's police are looking into the matter. The Federal Elections Committee is investigating Bachmann for concealing campaign payments to a staffer, for using PAC funds to pay a consultant, and for failing to pay staffers who refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement.  Bachmnann's campaign counsel, William McGinley of Patton Boggs, confirmed the OCE was investigating the congresswoman's 2012 presidential campaign.  Investigators for the OCE apparently questioned former campaign staffers about alleged improper transfers of funds and under-the-table payments.

So what does it say about the Tea Party maven's political woes?

It says that she'll just blame the president for having his "goons" go after her for saying the truth about Obamacare and radical Islam.

Once again, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is one the dumb woman. And for all the degrees and political capital she invested by her years of service, this behavior marginalizes her to be one of the looniest members after Texas congressman Steve Stockman (R-Texas), Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), Arizona's Trent Franks (R-Arizona), Steve King (R-Iowa) and Virginia Foxx (R-North Carolina).

This is your Tea Party people!

Marco Rubio: I Listen To Lil' Wayne Too! However, He's No 'Pac!

Florida senator Marco Rubio weighs in on hip-hop music.
Senator Marco Rubio is floated as a potential candidate for the Republican nomination for president. In order to appeal to Blacks and Hispanics, the Florida senator will talk like the Hip-Hop Republican.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) is a big fan of hip-hop music. He likes rappers Tupac Shakur, Lil' Wayne, Big Daddy Kane and Jay-Z.

Uncle Luke (Luther Campbell) and the 2 Live Crew, Rick Ross, Flo Rida, Pitbull, Trick Daddy, Trina, and numerous rappers built up the Miami rap scene.

Rubio grew up on hip-hop!

File:Lil Wayne in Concert.jpgAs a hip-hop fan, the senator weighs in on the potential run for president and a magazine's declaration of Lil' Wayne being "bigger than Tupac Shakur!"

Lil' Wayne, a veteran of hip-hop at age 30. Been with New Orleans based rap label Cash Money Records since he was 11 years old, the rapper managed to release his first album when he was 16.

Lil' Wayne is the most sought after rapper right now!  Lil' Wayne passed Elvis Presley as the male with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 109 songs.

The Block Is Hot was the commercial debut of the rapper. He gain notoriety as the closing hook on former Cash Money rapper Juvenile's Back That Azz Up.

The rapper collaborated with legendary rappers such as Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Wyclef Jean, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Busta Rhymes.

To make the point, Lil' Wayne is a dedicated rapper. The highly anticipated I Am Not A Human Being II will be released soon and many music writers have declared the rapper is bigger than Tupac Shakur.

The rapper once claimed that "he's the best rapper alive!"

Senator Rubio makes the point that "There is only one Tupac."

"It's a different time," said the senator. "These guys have some message in what they're saying, but I think they're largely entertainers. I think Tupac was more someone who was trying to inform us about what was going on, and he did it through entertainment. So it's just a different time. They're all good, though."

Now we seen this act all before!

Whenever there's "self-proclaimed" King of Rap, the title doesn't usually last long!

We seen the feud between Tupac and Biggie. We seen Jay-Z and Nas. We seen 50 Cent and Ja Rule.

Each of these feuds were legendary. They've made impact on the state of hip-hop.

Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G. and Will Smith are the only entertainers who have longstanding name recognition.

Lil' Wayne, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Future, Drake, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, and 2 Chainz are the most commercial rappers with the longest streak of collaborations. They have name recognition but nothing longstanding in my opinion.

TMZ catches up with the senator and asked him about Lil' Wayne being compared to Tupac Shakur.

Lil' Wayne appears under Cash Money Records.

Does Black America Hate The Republican Party?

Buzzfeed tracks the most viral things happening across the world. The website leans liberal.

Today, what caught my attention was the Republicans struggles with Black and Hispanic voters. Tales of the failed minority outreach made by Republican chairman Reince Pribeus and the perennial loser Mitt Romney may have doomed the national party.

What has me thinking about the situation is pretty simple. Sure ignorance!

The very fact that many conservatives love to twist history in order to make condescending points to "why Blacks voter overwhelmingly Democratic" is a dead giveaway to the deficit you'll find in the Republican Party.

Basically a White conservative wants to talk us Black folk down!

For one thing, I've said it before and I'll say it again! The Republican Party is like cocaine. It contains 90% White, 10% other. The Republican Party in my opinion favors the White Evangelical men. It tends to favor the well off, the rich, the elite, and is extremely conservative.

The Republican Party caters to racism through a broad coalition of groups determined to keep a segment of the United States from intervening in the nation's affairs. Conservatives rally around the Republicans because the party caters to their single issue ideas and principles.

Conservatives are reactionary bigots who have a hatred of someone's race, gender, sexuality, nationality, education, religion, economic and political standings.

If you tell a Republican or a conservative how you feel about the party in general, they'll give a reactionary defense against being called a racist.

The conservatives will gin up the notion that they were the ones responsible for civil rights in America.

After all who would go around claiming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican while slamming Congressman John Lewis (D-Georgia), the NAACP, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Joesph Lowery and Benjamin Jealous?

Republicans love to take credit in saying they've ended slavery, Jim Crow and helping pass the Civil Rights Laws.

They forgot the Democratic Party is the first to nominate the first Black candidate for president.

If it wasn't for Democratic presidents Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, Blacks wouldn't have all the opportunities for education, health care, voting rights and fair housing.

Yeah, I can credit moderate Republicans like Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower and Abraham Lincoln for being popular among Black voters.

But they surely forgotten that it was Republicans who also ran every dirty trick in this past election to keep Blacks from voting. They're the ones who want to build gated communities to sovereign themselves from the Black community. Republicans keep Blacks away from their private establishments through the barrel of a gun.

Some of the most recent comments from conservatives show a strong dislike towards the Black community, the continent of Africa, hip-hop music and President Barack Obama.

They love to create websites that promote hate of Blacks. There's probably over 100 websites devoted to trashing the president, me, you and other Blacks.

Yet, let there be one Black person who creates one website that trashes White people. It's on the conservative blogs, Fox News or talk radio the next day!

White conservatives hate being called racist. All hell breaks loose and conservatives rally a reactionary defense! They'll say that "it's not us, but them!"

Yet, they want no political correctness. The conservatives would love to say NIGGER to a Black person's face, but they fear they may lose their job or get attacked by us. In the white conservative's mind, we're looked upon as "savages" and "gubmint dependents".

They rally a bunch of extremists with rhetoric painting Blacks as an enemy.

These individuals then in turn call the Black community with labels such as "monkeys", "inferior", "lazy", "low-intelligence", "sex-crazed" "animals" or "monsters".

Any comment section linked through WorldNetDaily, InfoWars, The Drudge Report, Twitchy, The Daily Caller, Fox Nation, social networking websites (i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram) will have word vomit of racial slurs, Obama name dropping, faulty statistics of crime in Black/White areas, themes of rape and off tangent arguments to why they hate being labeled racist.

Black Republicans love to rush to the camera whenever there's an opportunity to trash President Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. In turn they'll spin this nonsense about urban areas are in decline because of Democratic politicans and Black leaders. They blame them over the bad parent or teenager who fails in society.

Senator Tim Scott (R-South Carolina), Allen West, Herman Cain, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Alan Keyes, Jesse Lee Peterson, Alveda King, Armstrong Williams, Juan Williams, James Manning love to rally the White conservatives. They know if they can say something racist about Black people, they're not racist! They're just telling the truth only to a crowd of mostly White people.

Yet, we get mad at these individuals and call them "UNCLE TOMS", "TOKENS" and "SELL-OUTS" for speaking out against Black leaders.
Reince Prebius is trying to add flavor to the all White seasoning of Republican elites.
We praise the Black liberal entertainers and politicians like the president, Bill Cosby or Jay-Z telling us the very same thing. We think of these individuals as heroes, truth-tellers and all knowing.

I can tell you that the Republican Party inclusiveness will be their undoing. They've purged the moderates.

They've taken the side of conspiracy kook Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). So they're now in the tank of a politician who believes the Civil Rights Act of 1965 was unconstitutional because it bothered the White owners who had a right to serve whomever they wanted.

With Mitt Romney about to appear at CPAC, many politicos in Washington wonder what went wrong with Romney. He lost every key demographic except for the White married family who lives in the suburbs or rural communities.

So the Republicans need a couple of tokens?

McKay Coppins of Buzzfeed wrote that Republican National Committee leader Reince Priebus used a Monday afternoon press conference to preach inclusion, outreach, and political redemption for his struggling party.

But too many of the people in the predominantly black, low-income neighborhood surrounding the church, the Republican Party was not yet done atoning for its 2012 sins.

Priebus came to the Christian Cultural Center — an evangelical church in East New York that boasts 29,000 members, and is headed by prominent black Republican Rev. A.R. Bernard — to participate in what a press release called an "African-American engagement and listening session." It was the latest stop in a national tour for the RNC chief, ostensibly intended to gather advice before the party releases its official campaign post-mortem next week.

Complimenting the church as a "beautiful, successful place of renewal and revival," Priebus quipped, "We're hoping to get a little bit of that at the Republican National Committee."

To pull off a Republican resurrection, Priebus said, the party would have to work hard to "make the sale" to African-American voters, who left the Republican Party in large amid the civil rights battles of the 1960s, and who President Barack Obama won with 93 percent in 2012.

Blacks come to see the GOP as the party of Romney.

Most Blacks believe that Republicans only cared about rich people. Those in Brooklyn never heard of Reince Priebus — but they had all heard of Mitt Romney.

And for most of them, Romney's candidacy was reason enough to steer clear of the Republican Party for the foreseeable future.

Maybe they should have keep that jive turkey Michael Steele!

Detroit Goes For Broke!

Conservatives and the white supremacists are working the nexus of bigotry. They've already considered Detroit, Michigan a city ruined by the Niggers and the Nigger lovers in Washington, DC.

With Detroit being majority Black, it's always figured by some radical right wing extremist, the turmoils of the once booming manufacturing city being the faults of the Democratic Party, the unions, racial integration and liberalism.

Never blaming the corporations who shut down the factories putting hundreds out of work. Never understanding that White flight that plagues urban areas because of school busing and forced integration.

Now when I decided to go up to Detroit, my family always warn me that it's not safe going through the city at dark. Although, I don't fear any man, woman or beast, I always adhere to my surroundings.

Whenever I go to Detroit, I usually head to Windsor, Ontario in Canada. I love to see the skyscrapers of the city. Whenever I go to the Caesar's Windsor casino, I always take a look at the United States from the other side. I love to see the city from the Detroit River. Sometimes I like to ride around the neighborhoods of Grand River Avenue, Gratiot Avenue, Telegraph Road, and Eight Mile Road.

I've driven on many freeways in Detroit. I've traveled on the Chrysler Freeway/Fisher Freeway (Interstate 75), the Lodge Freeway (M-10) and Jeffries Freeway (Interstate 96) and Edsel Ford Freeway (Interstate 94).

Detroit may seem like a slum to those who never been there, but in my opinion, it's a nice city and I enjoy being there.

The Detroit metropolitan region currently holds roughly one-half of the state's population. With White people leaving en masse, most of Detroit is left in ruins while the young Blacks and Hispanic suffer in a future of crime and no way out.

Detroit remains one of the most racially segregated cities in the United States.

Blacks moved to the city en masse to escape Jim Crow laws in the south and find jobs.

However, they soon found themselves excluded from white areas of the city—through violence, laws, and economic discrimination (e.g., redlining).

White residents attacked black homes: breaking windows, starting fires, and exploding bombs.

The pattern of segregation was later magnified by white migration to the suburbs.

A traditional boundary between black and white is Eight Mile Road, which separates the city from suburbs to the north.

Long a major population center and major engine of worldwide automobile manufacturing, Detroit has gone through a continuing economic decline.

Detroit reached its population peak in the 1950 census at over 1.8 million people, and as of the 2010 census has less than half that amount at just over 700,000 residents. The city has declined in population with each subsequent census since 1950, for a total loss exceeding 60 percent by 2010.

The New York Times reports that Republican governor Rick Synder issue a call for an emergency manager.

This person wield sweeping powers to reshape the city. This is attracting a great amount of controversy.

The hiring of an emergency manager underscored a long, troubling arc for Detroit. Once the cradle of the American auto industry and the nation’s fourth most populous city, it is now less than half the size it was decades ago and has a public sector plagued by more than $14 billion in long-term liabilities and annual worries of cash shortfalls.

The notion set off a flurry of pointed and sometimes emotional reactions here, including an unavoidable racial and political component. Detroit is a mostly black city dominated by Democrats in a mostly white state where Republicans, including Mr. Snyder, control the capital.

At a time when many municipalities are struggling financially, five cities and three school districts in Michigan alone are already under supervision from a state-appointed emergency financial manager. But municipal finance experts pointed out that Detroit is on a different scale. “Detroit is a huge and prominent American city, so anything that happens with Detroit will set a much bigger precedent,” said Matt Fabian, a managing director at Municipal Market Advisors. “There isn’t a lot of precedent with the state taking control of a city this size.”

For decades, states have used a range of methods, including oversight boards and appointed receivers, to step in and stabilize cities that appeared to be headed toward bankruptcy or default. The methods — and the powers and roles of those charged with overseeing a troubled city — vary widely from state to state, as do opinions about whether they work. A financial control board helped New York City return from the edge of crisis in the 1970s, but such intense state involvement is more often needed in smaller cities.

For more than a year, Detroit leaders had raced to ward off an emergency manager. With a similar possibility looming last spring, city officials entered into a legal deal, giving the state some oversight as Detroit tried to cut spending and staff members and collect more tax revenue. It was not enough, said state officials, who re-examined the city’s books in recent weeks and said they found a pattern of overly optimistic revenue estimates, poor and conflicting record-keeping and endless borrowing to make up for shortfalls.

“There have been many good people that have had many plans, many attempts to turn this around — they haven’t worked,” Mr. Snyder said on Friday during a town hall meeting broadcast on local television, the start of a concerted state effort to sell the notion of an outside manager to city residents. “The way I view it, today is a day to call all hands on deck.”

While some Detroit residents saw state intervention as one more very public indication of a city crumbling, others hailed it as the first promising sign of real repair. The city’s business leaders lauded the plan, noting that Detroit’s private sector had experienced tangible signs of growth and reinvestment — including newly filled downtown offices and young entrepreneurs opening dress shops — even as the public sector had lagged.

“Bring it on,” Sandy K. Baruah, the chairman of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, said of state management. “This sends a positive message to business that Detroit is fixing its problems.”

But Detroit city officials, who have 10 days to seek reconsideration from the governor before a state board formally appoints a manager as early as this month, objected strenuously. Under a much-debated state law, an appointed manager would ultimately hold powers to cut city spending, change contracts with labor unions, merge or eliminate city departments, urge the sale of city assets and even, if all else failed, recommend bankruptcy proceedings. In an election year for mayor and the City Council, many candidates, incumbents and community leaders denounced the move as an affront to democracy and a state takeover, and called for legal action.

“For one individual to be able to wipe out the duties of our duly-elected officials, that’s more or less a dictatorship, and it’s against everything that America is supposed to be about,” said the Rev. Wendell Anthony, the president of the local NAACP. “If you come into Detroit,” Mr. Anthony said, “you own Detroit. You own education. You own police and fire.”

Mayor Dave Bing, who has not said whether he would seek re-election, was more tempered than most in his critique, suggesting that while he opposed an emergency manager, there might be a way for the state and city to work together. “I will look at the impact of the governor’s decision as well as other options, to determine my next course of action,” he said.

Michigan’s emergency manager law — and the possibility that Detroit, the state’s largest city, might be affected by it — has been a matter of contention for several years. After Mr. Snyder became governor in 2010, he and the Republican-held Legislature approved changes to the state’s two-decade-old law, giving such managers more wide-reaching powers, including the ability to drop union contracts with cities. In November, voters rejected that new version of the law, but the Legislature quickly passed a third version, which also allows relatively broad powers to change the terms of labor contracts and which will take effect this month.

But many here wonder whether any emergency manager, under any version of the law, will be enough to solve Detroit’s woes, which are in some way a reflection of the city’s own story. Beyond the nagging budget questions and the mounting debt is a place that grew with the auto industry into a city of more than 1.8 million residents and 139 square miles, then shrank decade after decade even as the city’s boundaries and infrastructure did not. With a tax base of some among about 713,000 remaining residents, Detroiters complain of late buses, high crime and darkened streetlights.
