Oscars So White!

Selma poster.jpg
Ava DuVernay directed biopic Selma. It features David Oyelowo as Dr. Martin Luther King. It is an account of the march from Selma to Montgomery during the 1965 Civil Rights protest.

A huge controversy has ensued. The Academy Awards nominations came out and it became a literally shutout for minority actors, directors, women and movies.

The nominations were mostly White male and older celebrities. Not many of the nominees are Black, Asian, Hispanic or women of color.

For the third time since 1995, the 20 Academy Award acting nominations were only for white actors and actresses. The first was in 1998 and second was in 2011.

David Sims of The Atlantic states "the surprising coolness towards Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic Selma—nominated for Best Picture but missing in the Director, Actor, and Original Screenplay categories—with the fact that all 20 acting nominees this year are white, the first time such a thing has happened since the Oscars honoring the films of 1995."

Selma is directed by Ava DuVernay, herself an African-American female.

The Guardian columnist Bidisha also notes the overwhelmingly white nominee list while also discussing the fact that "every nominated best director, screenwriter, screenplay adapter and original score composer is a white man," which suggests that there is an inherent lack of female representation in the Oscars this year beyond the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories.

There was also some negative reaction from critics due to The Lego Movie not receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.
John Legend and Common were nominated for an Oscar.
Similar reaction also came from singer Lorde not being nominated for Best Original Song for "Yellow Flicker Beat" from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

There was also criticism from James Gunn regarding the fact that The Lego Movie was snubbed and Jake Gyllenhaal was not nominated for his performance in Nightcrawler while Dan Gilroy has received a nomination.

Foxcatcher's lack of a Best Picture nomination garnered some criticism as well as despite the director Bennett Miller, screenwriters E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman, and actors Steve Carrell and Mark Ruffalo all receiving nominations, the film itself did not.

On the bright side, John Legend and Common were nominated for an Oscar.

The famed R&B singer and rapper were nominated for Best Song for the movie Selma. Glory" from Selma – Music and Lyric by John Legend and Common: performed by John Legend and Common.

Your thoughts on the matter?

Do you believe that the Motion Picture Industry snub of non-White performers was a good idea?

Is The Junk Food Media Gonna Call Ohio State University Rioters Animals?

View image on Twitter

There were reports of rioting in Columbus, Ohio after Ohio State University's Buckeyes won the college national football championship. You notice the media calls these people "crowds" and not unruly animals like they've did when rioters went off after the Darren Wilson verdict in the Michael Brown shooting.

See Whites riot when there's an injustice. Not only in criminal acts, but reaction towards sports. See how they react towards a college football game. See how they react towards baseball, hockey, and even seasonal events.

They tear up property, destroy vehicles, keep the cops on duty for hours. And yet, the junk food media refuses to call this destructive behavior an act of criminal behavior.

Only those in law enforcement see that.

Ohio State Buckeyes handily beat the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks were favored odds.

Ohio State came to prominence after the team upset the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl.

Columbus and Ohio State Campus police deployed tear gas to stop the people from rioting. Those who are arrested will face charges. If they're students, they could be punished.

Congratulations to the Ohio State University for being the first national champions.

Ohio State Buckeyes Are The National College Football Playoff Champions!

The nation's number one team.

O-H-I-

Congratulations to Ohio governor John Kasich. He kicks off his second term and with the Republican controlled state house, he's unstoppable.

Now he can celebrate his inaugural with a celebration of the Ohio State Buckeyes winning the College Football National Championship trophy. The Ohio State University Buckeyes (5) beats University of Oregon Ducks (3). The Buckeyes are the first NCAA college team to win a national football championship.
2015 College Football Championship logo.png
SCORE OREGON (3) 20 - OHIO STATE (5) 42

The 2015 College Football Championship Game belongs to the Buckeyes.

They end up beating the Ducks handily. This is Urban Meyer's first National Championship in his few years as head coach of the football team.

The nation doubt them. The nation underestimated them. Ohio State went on to prove the odds makers wrong. Now Disney and President Barack Obama will honor the Buckeyes.

Disney will host the champions at Disney World in Florida.

Congratulations to the Ohio State University Buckeyes and their fans.

Alabama Family Getting A Move N****r Notice!

ABC 33/40 - Birmingham News, Weather, Sports

Alabama sheriffs are investigating a complaint filed by an African American family. They claim that their home was vandalized and spray painted with the ugly racial slur. It read MOVE NIGGER NOW!

Again, I don't want to jump to conclusions about these type of stories. Sure, this is horrific for a family to see this type of stuff happen. The peace and tranquility of your home being destroyed by the low lives of American ignorance.

The homeowner said she was at home with her granddaughter Wednesday night when she heard glass breaking at the front of the house. She called 911 and deputies arrived to find three windows broken by rocks and a racial slur painted on the garage door. The homeowner said she did not know why anyone would target her.

Yeah, mindset are deep rooted in some parts of the state. But does this ignorance play out inside the suburbs?

Limestone County is a part of the Huntsville-Decatur metro area. Limestone County is located in Northern Alabama.

Elkmont, Alabama is a town of 470 people, The racial makeup of the town was 83.40% White, 15.11% Black or African American, 1.06% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. 1.28% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

This is America in 2015.

FSU Shooter Left A Manifesto!

The nice guy who went on a murderous rampage at Florida State University.

Earlier this morning Florida authorities and the FBI are probing into a campus shooting overnight at the Florida State University.

Myron May went on a rampage at the campus injuring four before the law put the slug in him. He would be killed after a ten minute rampage. This extremist was given the opportunities most never gotten. A master's degree, a law degree and an alumni status. Not too many have an opportunity to achieve the dream through the American educational system.

May, a graduate of FSU in 2005 went into the library and let rounds. Four were injured critically.

He don't know what his motive was for going into

May left some clues to his motive in a journal. Obviously he had mental issues and a fear of something. May has mental illness. He had ties to my community of Dayton, Ohio.

In Dayton had a rocky childhood. He struggled with depression. He may of have bipolar disorder.

We don't know but I can guess he was probably on the verge of being targeted for something.

Officers from the Florida State and Tallahassee police departments responded within three to five minutes of the first reports of gunfire, according to Mayor-elect Andrew Gillum.

Once there, they found the shooter outside Strozier Library and asked him to drop his handgun.

"The suspect did not comply with the commands, and actually shot at one of the officers," Tallahassee police spokesman David Northway said. "They returned fire, and the subject was killed."
A student's college book saved his life. The bullet ricocheted into it.
He graduated from Texas Tech University's law school in 2009, and practiced law in both Texas and New Mexico, according to Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo. May moved back into the area a few weeks ago.

The school canceled all classes and exams Thursday in the wake of the shooting, offering counseling services to those directly and indirectly affected.

Meanwhile, investigators are surveying the scene and interviewing witnesses -- trying to determine exactly what happened and for what reason. DeLeo, the police chief, hedged when asked whether May had fired at officers, saying investigators still have more witnesses to interview. He said is appears none of the victims were targeted for any specific reason.

"Mr. May had a written journal and videos where he expressed fears of being targeted and that he wanted to bring attention to this issue of targeting," DeLeo told reporters. "A preliminary review of these documents and videos demonstrate that Mr. May was in a state of crisis."

Those who tried to protect themselves thought rationally. The knew how to handle an active shooter.

They would barricade themselves with books, tables and locking doors. They were trying their best to not be seen and fight if cornered.

May's impact could shape how lawmakers are passing stupid conceal carry laws. They want people to actively carry firearms while on college. A great idea until the bad shooter gets you first.

Again a mass shooter doesn't care who he hits. The mass shooter doesn't care who is hit. In the mass shooter's mind, as long as the shooter sees a window of opportunity to aim at a target, the shooter is going for it.
FSU campus was on lockdown.
The nice guy is the most dangerous individual with a gun. They say that good guys carry guns. The nice guy as it's put, are doormats who felt the world owed him for an unpaid due. The ones who are spurn by women, jobs, family and usually has trouble trying to find friends. They are actively ridiculed by tormentors who target them over perceptions of being poor, gay or having alleged active illness. These people have family members or close associates who own firearms. The nice guy gets the opportunity to take the firearm from the person without their knowledge. The nice guy will obtain firearms from dealers or retail stores. With lax laws, a firearm could be in the hands within days.

The impact of a mass shooter is devastating. Lives are lost or forever changed by injury.

Damn shame that the nice guys are likely the ones to kill.

We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to those who were lost in this senseless tragedy

Where's Waldo?

Florida city is infamous for traffic citations.

The state of idiocy has once again gotten some negative attention. A small city about 65 miles from Jacksonville is under fire for being a notorious speed trap and the police are taking advantage of the motorists.

The city has speed limit in urban areas 35 but it jumps from 45 to 55 and lowers down again numerous times. It's among the controversies that merits the Florida State Attorney to investigate the quotas.

Florida cities such as Tampa, Orlando, Ft. Walton Beach, Pensacola, Jacksonville, Miami, West Palm Beach, Lake City and Naples have traffic cameras at certain intersections. Some other cities require officers to be in a heavy traveled area where it's known for potential accidents.

The city of Waldo requires drivers to speed up and slow down six times: 65mph becomes 55mph; 55 becomes 45; then goes back to 55; then back down to 45; to 55 again; and, eventually, 35mph. AAA has named it one of only two "traffic traps" nationwide. Now Waldo faces a scandal following allegations that the town victimizes motorists to turn a profit. Two police chiefs have been suspended, the police department has rebelled, and the state is investigating possible wrongdoing. The situation simmered for years until last month, when Chief Mike Szabo was suspended, apparently in response to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation into suspected improprieties in the way officers write tickets.

Weeks later at a Waldo City Council meeting, a group of police officers said they had been ordered by Szabo to write at least 12 tickets per 12-hour shift or face repercussions. In 2013, Waldo's seven police officers filed 11,603 traffic citations, according to records obtained by the Gainesville Sun. That compares with 25,461 citations in 2013 for much larger Gainesville, which has 300 officers and 128,000 residents, including thousands of college students. The fines paid by motorists are a big moneymaker. According to the city's 2013 budget, about half of its $1 million in revenue came from "court fines" from tickets issued. The State Attorney's Office in Alachua County says it's waiting for the FDLE to finish its investigation of ticket quotas and other wrongdoing before deciding whether to file charges.

Stick To Being Washed Up, Victoria Jackson!

Nutbag tried to run for politics and lost.

The insurgency's maven of comedy wanted to win a Republican primary in the good ole state of Tennessee.

Damn shame, those Tennessee folk hate Hollywood coming to their backwoods.

Victoria Jackson, who calls herself a proud member of the insurgency, moved to Thompson's Station last year and said she filed as an independent to run for the Williamson County Commission because she's "very disappointed with the Republican Party."

The Tennessean reports Jackson received 632 votes. Two others received more votes: Judy Lynch Herbert with 1,422 and Betsy Hester with 1,380. The County Commission has two commissioners in each of its 12 districts.

Jackson had made appearances at multiple political events in Middle Tennessee since making her home there.

So I guess that ukulele string broke during her campaign stomp.

She represent the many extremists in the insurgency determined to undermine the president.

She had the audacity to call him a racial slur. She's long past her time. Her baby voice is highly annoying.

Victoria Jackson should be added on the blog Washed Up Celebrities. After all, what has she done that's talented.

Insurgency Republican Believes There's A War On Whites!

Another stupid White Republican blaming plight for the decline.

The Republican Party is a majority White person party. They can't deny the fact that 90% of the political party is catered to a majority of White, Christian, male and rich individuals.

It seems like the insurgency is a prime example of the reactionary outrage by Whites. The founding of the movement came during the failed presidential bids of perennial loser Ron Paul. It took off when some CNBC asshole ranted on television about Barack Obama's policies and motivated by one bitter cable news network devoted to tormenting the new president.

Now six years later, the insurgency is still around. It took out Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA) and Jack Kingston (R-GA). It almost ended the career of Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) and it looks like its apparently going to win some more primary victories in the coming month.

The constant racial agitation from the insurgency forces me and S. Baldwin to call it as the last remnants of American racism. Every accusation drives the insurgency bananas. They don't like being called racist.

They really believe that the president and his supporters are the true racists. We're  too extreme and should be charged for treason. They seriously believe that President Barack Obama should be impeached.

Just because the inept Congress refuses to pass a comprehensive immigration law and the president is using his Executive Orders to get the ball rolling. That's a crime according the "you can't fix stupid crowd!"

Here's a lawmaker from the insurgency who thinks its legal to discriminate against Whites.

Meet Mo Brooks, an Alabama lawmaker who has ties to the insurgency. He's the guy holding the Alabama 5th congressional district since 2011.

Brooks went on The Laura Ingraham Show and Ingraham played Brooks a clip of Ron Fournier warning that the Republican Party could not survive as the "party of white people."
The insurgency's newest ally/
Brooks responded: "Well, this is a part of the war on whites that’s being launched by the Democratic Party...And the way in which they’re launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else. It's part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things."

The comment drew considerable comments and controversy. For example, The New Yorker stated: "White reactionaries in the 19th century imagined that abolishing slavery would turn white people themselves into slaves, and the concept of white subjugation was transferred into such things as black suffrage, civil rights, and so on. The war on whites has raged continuously in the right-wing mind for more than two centuries."

When asked about the comment later that day, Brooks repeated the clam of a "War on Whites", stating: "In effect, what the Democrats are doing with their dividing America by race is they are waging a war on whites and I find that repugnant."

Damn could this be the moment another Todd Akin opened his mouth let his foot and ass right in?

Get On Up: The Story Of James Brown!

The MAN.....Rite cha!

There's a film featuring the great legend of soul and R & B and it starts Chadwick Boseman.

This movie is based on the life of James Brown.

Get on Up is an upcoming American biographical drama film directed by Tate Taylor and written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.

The movie is set for release in August.

James Brown was born in South Carolina.  He is the founding fathers of funk music and a major figure of 20th-century popular music and dance, he is often referred to as "The Godfather of Soul". In a career that spanned six decades, Brown profoundly influenced the development of several different musical genres.

After a stint in prison for robbery, Brown began his career as a gospel singer in Toccoa, Georgia. Joining an R&B vocal group called the Avons that later evolved to become The Famous Flames, Brown served as the group's lead singer.
Promotional poster for Get On Up.
First coming to national public attention in the late 1950s as a member of The Flames with the ballads "Please, Please, Please" and "Try Me", Brown built a reputation as a tireless live performer with singing group The Famous Flames and his backing band, sometimes known as the James Brown Band or the James Brown Orchestra.

Brown's success peaked in the 1960s with the live album, Live at the Apollo, and hit singles such as "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", "I Got You" and "It's a Man's Man's Man's World". During the late 1960s, Brown moved from a continuum of blues and gospel-based forms and styles to a profoundly "Africanized" approach to music-making that influenced the development of funk music.

By the early 1970s, Brown had fully established the funk sound after the formation of The J.B.'s with records such as "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine" and "The Payback". Brown also became notable for songs of social commentary including the 1968 hit, "Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud".

Brown continued to perform and record for the duration of his life until his death in 2006 from congestive heart failure and pneumonia. He leaves behind his children and grandchildren.

Are you going to see the movie?

You Try And Try But Again You Can't Fix Stupid! [NSFW]

Another story featuring America's most famous chicken restaurant.

Today, I went to a local gas station in my area. I purchased a couple of gas station hotdogs, an ice tea, a bag of Lay's Cheesy Bread chips and double bacon cheeseburger. I went to the front of the counter and was given the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my time as a person who actually works in service.

I make it clear: I work in service. It can be extremely stressful working in the service industry. You can't satisfy everyone. I am an example of this trend where I have to observe how I am treated in the service industry.

If I am to satisfy my guest, I would go out of my way to serve them. I will push a sale. I have pushed a sale and I always thank a guest.

I work two jobs. I work at a racino and gas station respectively. I can relate to the situation.

Anyway, here's another story about KFC. Before I rush to conclusions, I wanted to see proof of this.

Coming straight out of  the United Kingdom, a woman's claim that her boy eat one of those famous chicken dinners and out of the drumstick comes a paper towel.

Krystal Henderson, 29, and 7-year-old stepson Oliver Hallam purchased takeout from a KFC branch in Killingsworth, according to the Express. At home, Oliver took a bite out of what he assumed was chicken, but recoiled seconds later.

"He pulled it out of his mouth and when he did, it pulled away the batter - you could see the blue roll inside," Henderson said, according to the Daily Mail.

Henderson said that realizing Oliver had bitten into a paper towel was worse than if it had just been bad chicken.

"If it was bad chicken they might have just had a bad batch or something," she said. "But the blue roll could have been used for anything - it could have bleach or disinfectant on it … Had someone wiped their hands on it, had it been used to wipe the floor?"

KFC investigated the incident and, in May, sent Henderson an apology letter, explaining

"the blue tissue has most likely originated from a tissue roll used for KFC hygiene purposes. The store assume it must have fallen unseen into the breading lug that is under the sieve and was not noticed by the cook."

A spokesperson for KFC made the following statement, obtained by the Mirror:
We're very sorry for Ms Henderson's experience and apologized to her immediately, as well as giving her a refund at the time of the incident.
We take food quality and hygiene very seriously and unfortunately, on this extremely rare occasion, our restaurant failed to meet the high standards that both we and our customers expect.
We have retrained staff on our stringent food preparation procedures at this store to ensure this doesn't happen again.
The company also offered Henderson a free meal.

I will let you know that I can't judge the company for incompetence. After all, Yum! Brands managed to scrape by another scandal. Last month a little girl was being used in a deliberate hoax.

She was injured severely by a pitbull and was badly disfigured. According to the family, they told the junk food media that she was banned from the restaurant.

It turned into a major controversy and led to KFC paying for the girl's medical bills. The regional restaurant management checked the cameras and found that the family made the story up. Their donation website for the little girl Victoria Wilcher was suspended.

Nothing happened yet but soon it will.

KFC Employees: We Didn't Kick The Little Girl's Family Out! You've Been Had!

Little girl's injuries are real. The story about being thrown out of a KFC in Jackson, MS isn't!

The controversy over in Mississippi takes another turn. And this turn comes back like a boomerang.

The controversy was driven by the reaction of a mother who claims her 3-year old daughter was bullied and shamed out of a KFC. The mother claimed that the restaurant employees at a Jackson, MS location told them that their little girl was disgusting. The little girl was permanently disfigured after a pitbull attack.

The incident left the little girl scarred and blinded in her right eye. The website Victoria (Wilcher) Victories pulled about $250,000 in donations across the world. It also promoted a boycott against the KFC location where they've claimed they eaten at.

Well the people over at Yum! Brands was not pleased over this controversy. So before they were to fire out the cannon the employees and manager of the locations, they needed proof.

Well the surveillance cameras tell us....nothing much.

Just another good sales day at the two local restaurants in the vicinity of this family.

Sources with knowledge of KFC’s investigation told the Laurel Leader-Call that surveillance video from both KFC restaurants near the hospital showed no customers who matched the description of Mullins or her granddaughter.

The source said no orders were recorded to include mashed potatoes and sweet tea in the same transaction on that day.

No hospital patient had ever been asked to leave one of the two restaurants near the hospital, the source said, adding that he had seen people who suffer from a variety of ailments eat at the restaurants.

“We have never, ever, ever run off anyone, and we have seen some really, really sick people come to the restaurant from the hospital,” the source said. “We’ve had people come in who were shot in the face. We’ve had them with tubes and wire sticking out. We never have asked anyone to leave.”

The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not permitted to speak on the record.

The family initially told KFC the incident happened at the restaurant on State and High Streets, and they made similar claims on the “Victoria’s Victories” Facebook page maintained by the girl’s aunt.
KFC was doped by a scheming family. They used their badly injured daughter to scam the restaurant out of money.
However, that store has been closed for several years, and another post made on the page Friday claimed that information was inaccurately reported and that the incident had actually taken place at the Woodrow Wilson Drive location.

Employees and managers at both KFC locations in Jackson said they have endured death threats, had drinks thrown at them through the drive-through window, and faced constant verbal harassment since the family’s claims went public.

KFC donated $30,000 to help pay for the girl’s medical bills after she was attacked in April by three pit bulls owned by her grandfather, Donald Mullins.

Mullins and his girlfriend, Rita Tompkins, were arrested and charged with child endangerment, but were freed on bond.

Victoria suffered several broken bones, severe facial scarring, and has been fed through a tube.

A Las Vegas plastic surgeon has offered to cover the cost of reconstructive procedures — which typically cost tens of thousands of dollars — through his nonprofit organization, and other doctors have offered their help.

The family claimed on Facebook that they had been fighting with their insurance carrier over the cost of the girl’s medical bills, but they never identified the carrier.

The official findings from the report are expected this week, and the family claimed the investigation would back their claims.

“I promise (it’s) not a hoax, I never thought any of this would blow up the way it has,” the family said on Facebook. “The article circling the web calling this a hoax is untrue. The article (itself says) the investigation is not complete. It is not over until KFC releases a statement.”

Victoria Wilcher, you're beautiful. Your family, not so much. Here's where I draw my conclusion to this controversy.

The young girl was being used in a deliberate plot to fraud and scheme a business out of millions. At first, I wanted to believe this. I felt sorry for the family. That little girl's life will forever be changed.

I can't vouch for the reckless behavior of dog owners. But someone should have been thrown in the iron college for letting their dogs attack that innocent child.

But this family lied on their daughter. I have no care for this. I am so done with sympathy towards people stories. I am going to not rush to conclusions.

I promise you. If I hear more stories about Black on White crime or victims of discrimination stories, I will take them with a grain of salt. We need to see the video. We need to hear the audio. We need to see pictures.

From now on before I post, I will make sure I get proof.

The law and children services haven't look into this yet. But it will eventually come forth.

Alabama State Representative Alvin Holmes "Controversial" Remarks About Multiracial Relationships/Families

Angry, adoptive parents rally in Montgomery: Angry, adoptive parents rally at the state house in response to a controversial statement by Rep. Alvin Holmes last month.

Read what Ms. Peden has to say regarding Rep. Holmes remarks regarding transracial adoption:

Rep. Alvin Holmes remarks about adoption are hurtful as well as untrue

Suzanne M. Peden

As a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Alabama since 1985, and the owner of a licensed child placing agency in Helena since 2001, A Angel Adoptions, I am truly heartbroken by the remarks of Representative Alvin Holmes, D-Montgomery, during a legislative debate over a bill to ban abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat.

His statement that "Ninety-nine percent of the white people who are sitting in here now, if their daughter got pregnant by a black man, they are going to make their daughter have an abortion" is simply not true. I have been working with pregnant women, babies, and adoptive families in the field of adoption for 29 years and my professional experience does not support his remarks.

Today, more than ever, Alabama and the rest of the nation are seeing an increase in interracial relationships, marriages, and children born who are of mixed racial heritage; President Barack Obama is a great example.

Additionally, the infertility rate among women/couples is at an all time high. I currently have two childless interracial adoptive couples who live in Alabama waiting for an adoptive placement. Last year I placed twelve infants who were of African-American or African-American/Caucasian heritage with adoptive couples who were of Caucasian or mixed ethnic heritages. I have no shortage of adoptive family resources for any race child.

If Rep. Holmes believes his opinions are in fact true then he needs to step up his research. Adoption professionals, birth parents, adoptive families, and adoptees are very upset by his statements that only give negative press to our state! In fact, it is my belief that a caucasian woman pregnant with an African-American/caucasian child in any state is more likely to parent that baby than to have an abortion or make an adoption plan.

Suzanne M. Peden is executive director of A Angel Adoptions in Helena.

State Rep. Alvin Holmes did not start his call to the radio show by talking about white families adopting black children. Instead, he attempted to focus the discussion on interracial marriage, claiming, “First of all, my statement, that I made was that the majority of white people in Alabama was against interracial marriage.”
Representative Holmes said his belief is based on a November 2000 vote in which Alabama voters overturned a 100-year-old law that prohibited interracial marriage, but which Holmes claimed a “majority of whites” voted against. That 14-year-old vote is apparently what he’s still basing his opinions on today.
He's just talking about the conservative segment of Alabama's electorate that is resistant to multiracial relationships and families.  Sometimes, Rep. Alvin Holmes is right.  But the problem with his logic is that it's not just conservatives/Southerners that are resistant to the idea.  It's also liberals/non-Southerners, those who claimed to be progressive on most issues yet have a big problem when it comes to multiculturalism/interracial relationships in their families.

This is not to let right-wingers/conservatives off the hook, for they're more active in opposing interracial/inter ethnic relationships, families, multiculturalism in general.  All you have to read the venomous response to President Obama, the Cheerios commercial, the hateful comments on various conservative message boards such as American Renaissance, Breitbart, Freerepublic, Steve Sailer/VDare, Heartiste, The Spearhead, etc.

Hear what he said before the Alabama State Legislature regarding the hypocrisy of anti- abortionists when it comes to abortion and race.

Then watch the racist hypocrite Sean Hannity's remark:

Shawn Hannity have some nerve lecturing Blacks about bigotry when he's clearly is one!

NC Forward Together / Saving OurSelves Voting Rights Rally

March 11th, 2014 - Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II and the Forward Together Movement welcomes the S.O.S. Coalition in Raleigh as its Caravan for Democracy makes its way from Selma, Ala. to Washington DC, leaving 49 years almost to the day after civil rights leaders were beaten for daring to organize for voting rights in the Jim Crow South. Many of the assembled carry signs that memorialize the efforts and sacrifices made at Bloody Sunday in March 1965, sacrifices that spurred Congress to act on the mass disenfranchisement of African Americans by passing the Voting Rights Act later that summer.
