If you grew up watching the John Carpenter sci-fi horror classic The Thing, you knew the story of 12 research scientists inadvertently releasing a shapeshifting alien onto their base. The alien would infect its victims and immidate them until it is exposed. It often attacks in the shadows. It is a chameleon who managed to drive the scientists insane with paranoia. Who could you trust during a harsh storm in the center of Antarctica? Who was The Thing?
It had Kurt Russell, Wimford Brimley, Keith David, Richard Dysart, Richard Mansur, Donald Moffat, David Clennon, Thomas Waites, Charles Hallahan, Peter Maloney, Joel Polis and T.K. Carter.
T.K. Carter, who played the young cook Nauls in the horror classic has passed away at the age of 69. Carter was an actor and comedian.
He died three weeks after celebrating his 69th birthday.

Carter also had a role in Good Morning, Miss Bliss (the Saved By The Bell prequel retooled), Punky Brewster and a guest role in A Different World.
The actor was found dead on Friday in his Duarte, California home after calling 9-1-1 at 5:42pm, TMZ reported. A cause of death was not immediately disclosed, but foul play is not expected.
Born Dec. 18, 1956 in New York City, Carter grew up outside of Los Angeles, where he began performing as a standup comedian at age 12, going on to perform at the Comedy Store and other notabhilarious.
Now if I remembered the episode of A Different World where he plays Darnell, Mr. Gaines ambitious but reckless son. He ran Hillman University's restaurant The Pitt when Mr. Gaines went on vacation with Dwayne and Whitley. He ends up causing chaos and even threatening to fire Lena and Chermaine. He insulted Ron after Freddie threw up on him after trying Darnell's okra soup. Lena was played Jada Pinkett Smith, Charmaine was played by Karen Malina White, Mr. Gaines was played by Lou Meyers, Freddie was played by Cree Summer and Ron was played by Daryl M. Bell.
T.K. also was on Punky Brewster as Mike Fulton, the wisecracking teacher to Punky and Cherie. Punky Brewster was played by Soleil Moon-Frye and Cherie Johnson was played by Cherie Johnson (abet a fictional version of her namesake).
He played Mylo Williams on The Disney Channel short lived sitcom Good Morning Miss Bliss which was the prequel of Saved By The Bell. It featured Hayley Mills, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Lark Voohries, Dennis Haskins and Dustin "Screech" Diamond.
He also played in the short lived sitcoms, The Sinbad Show and Just Our Luck.
