The washed up politician loses her libel case against the New York Times.
Karen Palin, the former governor of Alaska and the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee will likely appeal this. The two week trial concluded when the federal judge and jury threw out the claims that the Times deliberately caused harm to her reputation.
An editorial had initially linked her rhetoric to the mass shooting in Tucson which injured former Democratic U.S. House lawmaker Gabrielle Giffords, wife of Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ). But the Times pulled the opinion piece. Palin found out about it and decided to sue the paper in an attempt to "own the libs."
Palin, a public figure thought it would help her bank account by suing a newspaper because her feelings were hurt.
Palin had infamous released a map with targets over the faces of lawmakers. Giffords was one of those targets.

Giffords was among 15 people shot in 2011 when a white terrorist ambushed Giffords outside a grocery store. The suspect was caught without a bullet fired. He is currently serving LIFE in federal time out.
Palin as well as folks like Washed Up 45, Rep. Karen Boebert (R-CO), Rep. Idiot Karen Greene (R-GA), Rep. Karen Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Karen Cawthorne (R-NC) often say rhetoric that triggers their followers to violence.
The Times said that they will fight against the lawsuit if the washed up politician decides to appeal.
Palin's downfall began when she left office. Fox was trying to groom her for 2012 only for her to tell a far-right troll on his radio station she won't run. The network had dropped her soon after and she's been struggling to find a buck. Her daughter Bristol is no longer popular. She divorced her husband. The other children are preparing to move on past the political spotlight.
Palin is dating a former hockey star.
Palin had caught the coronavirus and was condemned for still going out in public despite the danger.
She was also a contestant on Fox's The Masked Singer. She was eliminated early in the series.
