Sanders had a emergency heart procedure. It was a blockage in his artery. They gave him two stents in his heart. The lawmaker shrugs off the concerns of his age being a factor.
Sanders is hoping to get back on the campaign trail.
Sanders will be in Columbus, Ohio for the CNN Democratic Debate.
According to the Sanders campaign, the lawmaker experienced chest discomfort in one artery.
He was doing a campaign stop in Las Vegas.
In a statement from his official campaign social media, he thanks his well-wishes and promises to return back to the campaign trail with spirits.
"Thank for all the well wishes. I'm good. I'm fortunate to have good health care and great doctors and nurses helping me recover. None of us know when a medical emergency might affect us. And no one should fear going bankrupt if it occurs. Medicare for all!"
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), Andrew Yang, Julian Castro, Tom Steyer and Beto O'Rourke will be on stage with Sanders at Otterbein College in Westerville, a suburb of the Columbus area.
We only hope the best for Bernie Sanders.
The polls say that Sanders, Warren and Biden are the leading contenders.
