Still Waiting On Change!

One year later, still nothing has changed on gun violence.
Will something get done around in Washington, DC?

Today marks one year since the mass shooting tragedy in Parkland, Florida. This shooting sparked a movement of young activism.

This terrorist went into the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on this day. This incident killed 17 individuals and the terrorist was caught without a bullet fired.

Now as he awaits death row, many who attended the school now reflect on how they can keep the momentum going against the gun lobby.

The group March for Our Lives has been very vocal and successful in 2018. They managed to Republicans and Democrats on notice when it came to their support of the National Rifle Association.

Since the mass shooting, kookspiracy theorist Alex Jones lost his platforms on social media and is facing a lawsuit that could end him. Infowars has been calling the lead activist David Hogg, a crisis actor and it led to YouTube, Facebook and Twitter to take action against him.

It lead to marches and protests of lawmakers. Lead activist Emma Gonzalez managed to become the lead voice at the March for Our Lives rally. She called "BS" on "thoughts and prayers."

Their voices put a notice on right wing agitators like Laura Ingraham. She face a boycott after she made inappropriate remarks about Hogg.
Lives lost at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Their voices have registered millions of American youth who turned 18 to vote against lawmakers who supported the NRA. The House of Representatives swung back to the Democrats. The Senate is in Republican control, just barely.

Their voices has put NRA in the red. The NRA ended NRA TV and Dana Loesch is struggling on radio. NRA spokesman Dan Bongino lost three jobs (including the NRA TV) before he found his calling at Fox News.

Their voices called out politicians for ignoring James Shaw, Jr., the man who stopped a mass shooter inside a Waffle House. Shaw joined Gonzalez and Hogg as a member of March for Our Lives.

Since the mass shooting in Florida, there has been many mass shootings. Most of these mass shootings were lethal.

Since the mass shooting in Florida, there has been many school shootings in the year of 2018.
The movement continues despite the right's attempts to stop it.

there have been at least 31 incidents at K-12 schools in the United States in which someone was shot. That averages out to a shooting every 11.8 days.

In those shootings 19 people were killed and another 44 were injured.

Since the mass shooting in Florida, there's been some changes in the laws. Now you have to be 21 to purchase a high powered firearm. You might have to clear at least a few days before obtaining a firearm. No background checks or insurance for firearm owners though.

With that racist governor Ron DeSantis in Tallahassee, the rules could be repealed and we could return back to the status quo.

We can make a difference in 2020. We are determined to change the narrative.

Let's hold politicians accountable.

Let's do it.

NEVER AGAIN. WE NEED TO END IT!

GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE THREAT IN THE UNITED STATES.

No more gun violence in the United States is a tall order. It could be done.
