El Chapo Heads To Federal Time Out!

El Chapo is likely heading to Florence ADX. He was convicted of money laundering, conspiracy to commit murder, human trafficking and drug trafficking.
The infamous drug lord and former leader of the Sinaloa, a domestic terrorist group was served in U.S. federal court. He will likely see Supermax Colorado as his new residence.

He will appeal the verdict.

Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera is known to the world as "El Chapo," the most powerful drug trafficker in the world.

He became Mexico's top drug kingpin in 2003 after the arrest of rival Osiel Cardenas Guillen, the former leader of the Gulf Cartel.

The American government dubbed him a dangerous individual who paraded on a lavish lifestyle. A man who called the shots on how to traffic the loads. A man who could place a hit on you for even talking to his woman. Guzman was the boss of narco.

Guzman's Sinaloa Cartel transports multi-ton cocaine shipments from Colombia through Mexico to the United States, the world's top consumer., and has distribution cells throughout the United States.

The organization has been involved in the production, smuggling, and distribution of Mexican methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy (MDMA) and heroin throughout the Americas and Europe.

Before his 2014 arrest, Guzman had exported more drugs to the United States than any other trafficker including more than 500 tons (500,000 kg) of cocaine in the U.S. alone.

Guzman was caught in 1993 in Guatemala and was extradited to Mexico. He was served 20 years in Mexican time out for murder and drug trafficking. He used his influences in the time out to get guards to look the other way. He bribe the guards and found a way to escape a federal time out.

He was wanted the governments of Mexico, the United States and world police organization INTERPOL. The U.S. threw a $5 million bounty on his head and Mexico ran 60 million pesos ($3.8 million) on the head.

He was caught in 2014 after they found him inside a luxury apartment in Mexico.

When he was placed in a federal time out, he managed to hire some folks from the outside to tunnel underneath the federal time out. He would escape again in 2015 after they built a well developed tunnel into the federal time out.

He was captured by the Mexican federal authorities after being tipped off to his whereabouts. Sean Penn, the famed actor and activist and Mexican actress Kate del Castillo had a meeting with Guzman.

The two wanted to talk to Guzman about a film based off his life. Penn's meeting Guzman was the downfall.

Guzman was soon extradited to the United States and sent to a Brooklyn federal time out. It took about a year to get this conviction.

Now he will be sentenced in late June and it's likely he'll be spending his time in Florence ADX, the only place in the U.S. where you can't tunnel out. The walls and windows are so small, he wouldn't be able to know where his location is. It is the place where the U.S. government declared those interned there are dangerous to the general population, staff and themselves. They are considered the most dangerous individuals in the country and they're housed there.

Guzman's attorneys said they will appeal the sentence.
