Man-child singer heading to federal time out for child porn. |
Austin Jefferson Jones is a former YouTuber and musician from Illinois. For about 10 years, he was called an "alternative pop vocalist." He managed to gain over 500,000 subscribers and over 20 million video views.
Jones began releasing his music in 2007. In 2014, he released an EP entitled, We'll Fall Together.
Jones released a full length album entitled Pitch Imperfect. He was known for his a cappella videos of song covers.
The feds were tipped off to Jones's inappropriate behavior. Jones had contacted multiple underage females online, each time persuading the girl to twerk for him, giving her directions how to perform the act while being recorded.
In 2017, Jones was arrested at Chicago O'Hare International Airport by the Homeland Security Investigations on two counts of producing child pornography (once in 2016 and once in 2017).
In each case Jones persuaded an underage female to make sexually explicit videos of herself at his direction.
At a federal court hearing, Jones was released to in-house in his mother's custody after posting a $100,000 get out free card. He had to surrender his electronics, magazines, toys and cable box.
He was told to stay off the internet until sentencing.
He plead guilty to the charges and will likely be sentenced to federal time out for 5 to 10.
Jones will be a TIER III in OFFENDER U.
The sentence could be appealed but if he faces retrial, he will get 20 if convicted.
