Last month's jobs report was not good. It shows once again that under the chaos of Donald J. Trump, the United States has reached its shelf life. Now as we enter the seventh month of the war with Iran, we are officially in a trade war with Canada, mass shootings have suprassed the count of 400 and Dolly Parton passed away.

We also had major celebrities like Tim Curry, Peter Cullin, Hayden Panettiere and Samuel Monroe, Jr. have passed away as well as Dolly Parton.

A young man who lived in Springfield, Ohio, Pierre Damas Bel committed suicide after ICE ruined his life. He was about to attend Wright State University in Dayton. He was fitted with an ankle monitor. He was ashamed that the Supreme Court ended the temporary protections for people seeking refuge from hostilities. He walked into a semi truck on Interstate 70. His death drew condemnation from his family, several Democrats and even some Republicans angry over how Trump is allowing ICE to abuse human beings.

Lake Ontario is now Lake America on Google and Apple Maps.

JD Vance gets upset when Abdul El-Sayed uses the very tactics of his boss when it comes to attacking spouses.

AMERICANS are definitely split between whether they love or hate this country.

Gas prices, grocery prices, insurance premiums, shipping costs and medical debt are driving people to put off things. Overworked and exhausted of their jobs. More Americans are uncomfortable with their jobs but too afraid to find another. Watching elites carry on like its normal is a recipe for disaster.

Less than 900 days of the curmudgeon President Donald J. Trump. We are quickly declining under this chaotic second term.

Since the U.S. government constantly delayed the job report, the partial government shutdown and the president's failure to admit our country is on the decline, we are not going to get accurate numbers.

  • Liberal rights of freedom of speech, press and association decline, impairing the ability of the political opposition to challenge the government, hold it to account, and propose alternatives to the current regime;
  • The rule of law (i.e., judicial and bureaucratic restraints on the government) is weakened, such as when the independence of the judiciary is threatened, or when civil service tenure protections are weakened or eliminated.
  • An over-emphasis on national security as response to acts of terrorism or perceived antagonists.
  • Politicians can't agree on funding essential needs and services which trigger spiteful pain on the citizens.

If you wanted "Death to America," remind yourself that Trump supporters tried to violently overturn a peaceful transfer of power. The U.S. economy added jobs at a brisk pace in August, reversing a summer slowdown in hiring, while the unemployment rate held steady.

Nonfarm payrolls rose a seasonally adjusted 162,000 for the month while the unemployment rate, as expected, held steady at 4.1%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a payrolls increase of 53,000.

August’s total was the strongest monthly gain since March.

The report was consistent with what Federal Reserve officials have called a stable labor market, and likely turns the central bank’s focus to next week’s inflation numbers as the final determinant heading into the interest rate decision in less than two weeks.

Policymakers generally watch the unemployment rate more closely for the health of the labor market, and that has held consistent for the past several years and is actually down 0.2 percentage point from a year ago.

In addition to the solid August gain, prior months saw upward revisions: July showed a gain of 21,000 jobs, swinging positive from a loss of 23,000, while June was revised up to a gain of 31,000, or an increase of 11,000.

Unlike previous months, job gains were fairly broad-based.

Restaurants and bars led with 59,000 new jobs, while government education rose by 42,000 and manufacturing contributed 16,000. Health care, the primary engine of job growth, saw a gain of just 13,000, compared to the monthly average of 32,000 over the prior 12 months.

There was some evidence of artificial intelligence hitting employment rolls: Information-related industries reported a loss of 23,000, putting the 12-month average at a loss of 8,000.

In a country of 342 million based on 50 states, five U.S. territories, the District of Columbia and other aligned sovereignty, the United States job market is not rebounding.

Public officials and federal elected officials from both sides have tried to push more nanny state policies in defense of Israel. Officials from the Bush, Obama, Biden and Trump Administration have ran cover for this apartheid ethnostate.

France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Australia, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and the Netherlands officially move to recognize Palestinian statehood. Israel and the United States denounced it quickly. Trump and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio threaten revocation of visas and tariffs.

Israel and its allies overplayed the use of antisemitism. From now on, as long as there is no violence towards anyone practicing Christianity, Judaism or Islam, I will not hold my tongue. You can freely criticize Israel, Jews, Trump, Vance, Biden, Harris, Benjamin Netanyahu, AIPAC, the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, Zionism, colonialism, imperialism, slavery, racism, Christian nationalism and white supremacy.

Racism unfortunately is protected speech.

Antisemitism is protected speech.

Being a bigot is a choice which allows some people to "other" those who do not agree with the status quo of how America is ran. 

Trump is against DEI. The president supports banning DEI when it supports people of color, those in LGBTQ community and immigrants. Every other religion that isn't Christian, Catholic or Jewish is DEI and it has to go.

The U.S. violated the USMCA by imposing tariffs on its trading partners. Mexico and Canada have vowed to impose their series of tariffs. BRICS is courting Mexico to join the organization.

The world is losing patience with the U.S. and Israel. Many countries are moving away from the U.S. dollar.

Iran has already started the process. It has pushed for dedollarization. It has called for the use of Chinese Yuan to trade oil and several countries are working on doing it.

NATO is about to fall apart. Thanks to Trump having his tantrums, his European allies and Turkรฏye are distancing themselves from this war with Iran.

Countries have now denied entry to Israeli passport holders: Algeria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, The United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. 

Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil, Cyprus and Qatar are considering it.

More countries are considering to ban Israelis. The only country that wants to keep Israelis coming in without any problems is the United States.

Trump despite winning the election is still telling Americans that if he doesn't win, there will be all out war. He is true to his word.

He has already sparked global tension with threats of tariffs on our trading partners.

Republicans can't govern in the House of Representatives and Senate. Every government shutdown is a prime example of how their incompetence is in full effect. They are pushing authoritarianism in states they have control of. They are banning swatting, honing and regulations on testing. But when it comes to people being killed by firearms, they refuse to do something. Republicans will sabotage themselves and Trump. The Big Beautiful Bill itself is a disgrace that could impact millions of working class Americans, the poor, the needy, transgender Americans, professional gamblers, the adult entertainment industry and so many others. The tax code is changed and more Americans are getting less in tax refunds thanks to the no taxes on tips and overtime. It will shock many who file their taxes.

Republicans don't care because of course, y'all voted for this.

Republicans are using dog whistles when talking about Blacks, immigrants, transgender Americans, Israel, crime, protesters and gun violence.

1. Hamas and Hezbollah are called terrorists because of Israel and the United States. They labeled them terrorists because of their resistance to Israel violently occupying their land. Israel has resorted to years of shameful aggression to punish Lebanese, Syrians, Gazans and those in the West Bank. The United States gave aid and cover to this for over a generation. Those who support Hamas or defend their actions are labeled terrorist sympathizers, antisemitic, traitors, unpatriotic, radicals or whatever they conjure up. The Zionists are getting desperate. They are resorting to violence and threats of banning critics.

2. Gun violence continues to be the No. 1 threat to children and adults. When gun violence happen in Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Atlanta, Washington, DC, Detroit and Baltimore, a Republican lawmaker wants to blame gun violence on Democratic mayors instead of the Congress. We are on record with 450 mass shootings this year alone. White men with firearms are more dangerous than any other person. 

3. Immigration is right now at record lows. The world views the U.S. as a hostile country and migrants from the Global South are beginning to ban American influence. They fear Trump's presidency could cause instability. Republicans are pushing for border closures, border/segregation walls, mass deportations, elimination of birthright citizenship, end of legal rights to Americans married to immigrants and push for English only. They also want to ban immigrants or student visas. They want to jail or deport any immigrant who protest Israel or Trump. This immigration and detention of civilians has travel into the United States down at record levels. 

4. Crime is at record lows but it is rising. Property theft is up. Shoplifting, the Kia/Hyundai challenge, gun violence, white collar crimes and cybertheft have occurred. But again its racial dog whistles. Many corporations are getting away with greed and theft of wages. Many Americans are tired of paying more for less product. Kia and Hyundai are still facing criticism over this Kia Boyz nonsense. Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Wexman are on their last legs. Walmart, Target and Kroger are closing stores in predominantly Black and Latino neighborhoods. Republicans are pushing for more mandatory sentences for theft. Democrats want to push for regulations on shrinkflation and theft of wages. Republicans oppose overtime and regulations to keep corporations from raising product prices. Trump is sending the National Guard into Portland, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Memphis, Baltimore and Washington, DC despite mayors denouncing this as an attempt to uphend the local police and their qualified training.

The weak GOP will distract you with Hasan Piker.

Republicans want political revenge. Trump wants to jail his rivals. He may get that wish now that he has returned to power. This is not a joke. 

Do not assume that every place has jobs. Companies are closing everywhere. The tech industry, retail, trucking and press are laying off workers. The service industry is continuing to suffer due to stagnant wages, lack of achievements and work overload.

Also, housing is still down. More Americans can't afford homes, rent or car payments.

AIPAC has poured money into many of these primaries. It openly bragged that its choices which were Democrats and Republicans beating their challengers.

House members passed a bill to define antisemitism in attempt to suppress freedom of speech. The insufferable House of Representatives in a bipartisan moment are trying to criminalize thought and dissent.

They are now trying to outlaw any criticism of Israel as hate speech which could be punishable by sanctions, divestment or allowing companies to terminate employment of anyone who dares criticizes Israel.

They are taking vacations while you barely even get one or the luxury of taking days off.

Let me get this straight: You are more upset over words than actions. You are upset someone using their freedom of speech to criticize a foreign country engaged in a propaganda campaign to shield itself from war crimes and impunity. You are upset over people using their voices, their wallets and their time to protest an injustice. Well, get upset over your taxpayer money aiding foreign nations. Get upset over foreign nations killing Americans in a war funded by our taxpayer money. Get upset over the deaths of thousands in Haiti, Chad, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Syria, Venezuela, Myanmar, Mexico, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine and Palestine. Mind you, our taxpayer money funds Israel more than any other country in conflicts. Get upset at your president, your senator, your representative, your governor, your state leader, your mayor and your local junk food media for bowing to the evil regime of Israel.

Hakeem Jeffries isn't listening to the growing frustrations within the Democratic Party.

Republicans see the only path to victory is basically obstruct and complain about the media, Democrats and former Republicans. They won't offer solutions or policies. All they care about is trying to keep folks angry with culture wars and distractions. Democrats want to be the big tent party but always want to pivot to the middle or develop centrist ideas to win over Republicans who will never change.

To make this clear, it doesn't matter anymore who the fucking president is. 

Most of the lawmakers are relics of the 20th Century. They will never retire or do anything meaningful. All they do is line their pockets with book deals, media appearances, kushy lobbying jobs and fancy parties.

The status quo continues with political charades, support of Israel and endless culture war grievances.

Trump turned a stable economy into chaos. During his first term, he divided the nation.

Biden has divided the nation further allowing Trump to return to put the nail in the coffin of this once respected nation.

I will hold Trump accountable for his actions.

What pisses me off is our lawmakers are calling protesters "Hamas supporters" to paint peaceful protests as an act of "terrorism." Their reactionary response to anger over America's support of Israel will lead to our standing with the world. With billions of dollars of aid going to Israel, you would think that American lawmakers would have our taxpayer money spent on more useful things!

Wall Street Journal ran a piece on John Fetterman being ineffective.

The lawmakers will spend more taxpayer money to fix our crumbling infrastructure. Hell we still have the aftermaths of hurricanes, wildfires, droughts and snow storms. Thousands of people have died from those horrible weather events.

Many of these Republicans who vote against funding the government and assistance for some of America's less fortunate are willing to give billions to a foreign nation engaged in an act of genocide. Same with the Democrats. They claim they want to protect democracy but endorse a fascist government sworn to being an ethnostate on our taxpayer dime.

Food prices, energy prices, rent, city services and college education have risen. Companies are struggling to find workers. They are now trying to push incentives to get workers in. However, there is always a catch to working entry level jobs that make over $20 an hour. Folks must work hours that do not accommodate home and social life. It may only be part time work or temporary. Some jobs may force overtime or refuse to pay for work rendered. With unions being weaken by states, it may be an at-will company. So if you are on social media, protesting injustices, supporting controversial issues or making threats to local officials; you could lose your job.

The safety net: It's this thing that helps the middle class and lower class. The safety net prevents Americans from rioting and/or looting. The safety net stops people from shoplifting from stores to feed their families.

The safety net prevents a person from robbing you of your luxuries.

The safety net is only 10% of the federal spending. The way some people put it, 50% of the federal spending goes to food stamps and welfare. Some people believe that the safety net is making people lazy. And this is the stuff I've heard from people who think that it will never happen to them. They get their arousal over a person using an EBT card to pay for name brand items or expensive food.

With the rising food and gas prices, people are turning to food stamps, food banks and government assistance to keep themselves from landing in the homeless shelter.

Without a safety net, these people will rob and kill those who have the luxuries of having food in the refrigerator or in the pantry. They would steal fuel, water, bread and meat to keep feeding their families. And yet, these Republicans, Democrats and their conservative allies are thinking the poor are the reasons for a potential economic recession. 

Perhaps those who complain about the poor, should walk a day in that person's shoes!

Companies are cautious about hiring employees. Because of the Trump administration rolling back DEI and arresting undocumented workers, employers are struggling to keep employees. It puts more stress on the workers, managers and suppliers. 

With the average wages stagnant, many are not looking forward to work at jobs that pays dirt wages. Many who worked in the retail, restaurant and low end service industry are not willing to take a job for less than $10 an hour. Matter of fact, no one can survive on $15 an hour.

Republicans never get it. They just won't see the bigger picture itself. Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. They are frustrated with stagnant wages. 

They are tired of low wages for heavy workloads. They are tried of food and consumer products being expensive.

People are literally dying from being exposed to the coronavirus, monkeypox, measles, bird flu and gun violence.

Most Americans are tired of the status quo of their jobs.

Many single parents are having trouble trying to find quality daycare or family members to watch children. On top of that, some have lost family members due to the pandemic and unforseen circumstances due to Trump’s chaotic policies. A homemaker may have lost their spouse. Some may have no choice but to watch their children or loved ones due to the aftermath of the pandemic.

Folks are still trying to rebound from medical bills, late rent payments, owing taxes and college loans.

Republicans are white nationalists without a conscience. 

Trump's presidency and Republican controlled governments are incompetent.

Their leadership has killed millions of Americans. 

For almost two months the junk food media obsessed with Hasan Piker.

Holding these lawmakers accountable is not just a pledge, but a promise. You need to learn who represents your community. Your local community member, your school board member, your mayor, your state representative, your state senator, your governor, your U.S. Representative, your U.S. Senator and the president need to be held accountable for their actions. 

We need to put pressure on Republicans and Democrats to do something to improve everyone's lives.

Keep pressure on them with Israel.

Fox Cannon Fires Money Honey!

The news hits harder when you're a part of it.

On Thursday, some big big junk food media news.

Fox Business and Fox News, two far right platforms involved in the Dominion Systems settlement. It cost them $787 million for promoting the notion that they were involved in shady practices which denied President Donald J. Trump a second term.

Several prominent agitators were involved in spinning this. 

Lou Dobbs, who was ousted and later passed away.

Tucker Carlson, who was ousted and later became a podcaster who is feuding with Trump.

Now Maria Bartiromo.

The "Money Honey" was fired out the cannon.

Fox has parted ways with the controversial politically influential financial agitator Bartiromo after more than a decade, the company announced Thursday hours after Fox Business Network aired the final episode of the show that bears her name. The company did not specify the reasons for her separation.

“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12½ years,” a Fox statement read, “and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”

There was no immediate reaction from Bartiromo. Her X account still showed a banner photo Thursday afternoon encouraging people to “grab yourself a cup of coffee, and join us every morning for Mornings With Maria.”

On his Truth Social platform late Thursday, President Donald Trump wrote: “I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business. Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!”

Other high-profile, on-air personalities that have left Fox News Media in recent years include Tucker Carlson and Bill O’Reilly. Former Fox personality Pete Hegseth left the network in 2024 after being nominated as Trump’s secretary of defense.

Bartiromo hosted “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business Network, the last episode of which aired Thursday morning, as well as “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street.”

The first show will be renamed “Mornings with Fox Business” and will feature rotating anchors, the company said in its statement. The second will be renamed “FBN’s Wall Street” and will also use rotating anchors. Additionally, Bartiromo’s weekly Fox News show “Sunday Morning Futures” will be hosted by Jason Chaffetz for the time being.

Bartiromo has frequently earned praise from Trump, who has granted her multiple interviews over the years. He has called her a “great reporter.” Vice President JD Vance, talking with reporters Thursday afternoon, was asked about her departure but said he had not talked to her and didn’t know the back story.

“I love Maria. I think she’s an amazing person, an amazing talent,” Vance said. “Whatever she does, she’s gonna do great, and I wish her all the best. She’s a very, very dear friend.”

In 2025, a lawsuit against Fox News by voting technology company Smartmatic alleged that Bartiromo spread false rumors about claims of election fraud on the air — a notion she had vehemently rejected.

Softball Bartiromo strikes out. 

Bartiromo had said before an earlier lawsuit involving Fox and Dominion Voting Systems that it’s “absurd” to think that she personally lobbied former Attorney General William Barr to aggressively investigate Trump’s charges of voter fraud during the 2020 election. Instead, she said she was doing a journalist’s job in asking follow-up questions. That case was settled in 2023.

Before Fox, Bartiromo worked for CNBC for 20 years as a financial journalist. Previously to that, she worked for CNN. At CNBC, she pioneered daily live reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and won an Emmy Award for a documentary about Google.

Bartiromo’s executive producer Patrick Ignozzi was also sent through the exit doors, Mediaite previously confirmed earlier Thursday after it was first reported by Puck’s Dylan Byers. Earlier, a bombshell report from Oliver Darcy at Status revealed that Bartiromo had shared a confidential internal communication giving directives about the network’s coverage of President Donald Trump with the White House.

Her staff were barred from talking about her potential cannon firing. They had enough time to gather up all the work and when the cameras went off and she took off her microphone, her bosses came to her talked to her and sent her out the door.

She became a victim of the very thing she called for. 

I assume she will become a prominent podcaster. Perhaps she will join NewsNation which is becoming the Fox-lite cable network. 

Fox corporate management gave secret directives instructing hosts not to promote Trump's election interference conspiracy theories on air. Bartiromo, an ardent supporter and ally of Trump, went behind management's back and tipped off the White House about Fox's internal restrictions.

Roads are crumbling and becoming hazards. Price of regular gas is $4.18⁹ while diesel is $5.87⁹. More Americans are working harder but their paychecks are matching the inflation and cost of living. Many are putting off doctors, dentists, mechanics, vacations, barbers, beauticians, eating out, watching movies at theaters, high end purchases, buying homes, finding qualified child care, finding qualified elder care and means of life.

Yet the 535 members of the U.S. House of Representatives are trying to push forth legislation that goes against the U.S. constitution.

Republicans claim to be all about freedom and individual rights. They want free speech and colorblind quotas. They want to push for the status quo.

The U.S. House on Thursday passed bipartisan legislation introduced by Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and Virginia Foxx (D-NC) that would restrict federal student aid to colleges and universities that participate in certain commercial boycotts of Israel.

The Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act passed the House on Sept. 3 by a 237-169 vote and now heads to the Senate.

Under the legislation, colleges and universities would be required to certify that they are not participating in what the bill defines as a “non-expressive commercial boycott of Israel” in order to remain eligible to receive federal student aid.

The bill defines such a boycott as a commercial action, including refusing to conduct business with Israel or terminating business activities, intended to limit commercial relations with Israel or people or entities doing business in Israel or Israeli-controlled institutions, unless the action is based on a valid business reason.

“No student, no professor should be shut out of research, study abroad opportunities, or academic partnerships, or feel unwelcome in the classroom because of where they’re from or what religion they practice. Yet that’s exactly what the boycott-divest-sanction movement seeks to do — targeting one country and one religion: Israel and Judaism,” said Gottheimer. “My bipartisan bill with Congresswoman Foxx is narrow and targeted — it doesn’t touch anyone’s speech, protest, or academic debate. It simply says that if your university takes federal taxpayer dollars, it can’t discriminate against academic partnerships or investments with one country. That’s it. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support this bipartisan bill.”

The legislation would also direct the U.S. Department of Education to publish a list of institutions that do not provide the required certification.

Colleges and universities receiving funding through International Education Programs under Title VI would be required to refrain from academic boycotts and instead engage in academic exchange reciprocity.

“The antisemitic rot that has corroded college campuses must be eradicated – enough is enough. The safety and security of Jewish students, faculty, and staff should never be threatened under any circumstances. Today, the House sent a clear message: if an institution of higher education chooses to capitulate to the caustic BDS movement, there will be consequences – starting with this bipartisan legislation,” said Foxx.

Gottheimer is a member of the House Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism. He has also supported the Antisemitism Awareness Act, authored the HEAL Act addressing Holocaust education and advocated for federal Nonprofit Security Grant funding for synagogues and other Jewish institutions.

Carla Jeffery Passed Away!

Tragic passing of actress Carla Jeffery.

Carla Jeffery, best known for her role as Bree in Disney’s hit Zombies franchise, has died at age 33, her manager confirmed.

“Carla was more than a client; she was family,” Carla Alexander, founder of Los Angeles-based Alexanders Talent Management, said in a statement shared on social media. “Our hearts are with Carla’s family and loved ones during this devastating time.”

Alexander told KTLA that more information would be shared in the coming days.

The Houston native began her career at age 12 with a role in Phat Girlz (2006), starring Mo’Nique. She later appeared in Disney Channel shows including Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up! and Best Friends Whenever.

Bree was one of the central characters in Disney’s Zombies franchise, serving as a loyal friend to main character Addison (Meg Donnelly). Known for her spark and humor, she became a fan favorite across the film series and its animated spinoff.

Her cause of death was not disclosed.

“She loved what she did. She was a great person,” Alexander told KTLA on Wednesday.

Cassandra Wilson Passed Away!

The Jazz community mourns the loss of Cassandra Wilson.

Another passing of an iconic legend. 

Cassandra Wilson, the two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz singer, songwriter and producer has died. She was 70.

Dubbed America’s best singer by Time magazine in 2001, Wilson was best known for her genre-bending voice, which expanded the boundaries of traditional blues-based jazz and worked effortlessly across folk, pop, R&B, country and beyond. At the heart of all her work was her idiosyncratic contralto, a soulful sound distinctly tied to her roots.

As Jon Batiste put it in a eulogy on Wednesday, Wilson sounded like the South.

She died in her native Jackson, Mississippi, on Tuesday morning, the Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard confirmed.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cassandra Wilson, the Grammy Award-winning and legendary jazz artist. Cassandra Wilson transitioned peacefully at home, surrounded by family, close friends, and her manager,” said a statement from her manager to jazz radio station WBGO.

From Jackson to the world

Born and raised in Jackson to musician Herman B. Fowlkes and teacher Mary Fowlkes, Wilson showed an early love of music listening to Motown, Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. At 6, she started piano lessons. She played clarinet in marching bands. She performed at coffeehouses and in cover bands while studying at Millsaps College and Jackson State University.

In the early ‘80s, she mentored under jazz greats in New Orleans before moving to New York City and joining Steve Coleman’s M-Base Collective — eventually becoming its main vocalist.

Her instantly recognizable voice earned her four Grammy nominations and two wins for best jazz vocal album. Those were in 1997 for “New Moon Daughter” and 2009 for “Loverly.”

In 2015, it was Wilson who gave a special concert at the famed Apollo Theater to commemorate the 100th birthday of blues singer Billie Holiday, the legendary American jazz vocalist who died in New York City at age 44. That same year, Wilson released her last album, “Coming Forth by Day,” an homage to Holiday.

In 2022, Wilson was named a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master, one of the highest honors awarded to jazz musicians in the United States.

Tributes pour in

“She had an unmistakable vocal tone, phrasing and her approach of weaving folkloric, R&B and diasporic music together with experimental and popular genres had a major impact on me,” Batiste said in his tribute to Wilson on Instagram.

“Her Mississippi heritage was always present in everything no matter how expansive her artistry evolved,” he wrote in the caption of a clip showing them together on Brazilian TV in 2009. “She was one of the first people to take me on tour around the world, the great Cassandra Wilson.”

Jackson Mayor John Horhn said the city “has lost an extraordinary native daughter, and the world has lost a singular musical voice.”

“Cassandra Wilson carried the sound, spirit and history of Mississippi with her wherever her music reached,” said the mayor’s statement, shared with WJTV. “Her work had rare depth of character and a profound understanding of how music moves people, tells stories and connects generations.”

Famed journalist and social activist Gloria Steinem has passed away.

Steinem, the celebrated author and activist who became one of the most visible symbols and potent voices of the U.S. women’s movement and a fierce advocate for feminist causes throughout her life, has died. She was 92.

With her trademark streaked hair parted down the middle and large aviator glasses, Steinem, a co-founder of Ms. Magazine, was a hugely recognizable presence wherever she went. And she went everywhere: Much of her life as an advocate was spent on the road, speaking at college campuses and community centers, at rallies and marches.

She died Wednesday at her home in New York City, according to her and her foundation’s social media pages.

“Gloria’s greatest gift was her ability to listen to others, to make others feel seen and heard,” the posts said. “Her words, actions, and example gave people permission to be their truest selves. Gloria lived true to her independent spirit, always with curiosity and a great sense of humor.”

Steinem enjoyed writing and spending time in the community in recent years, the posts said. She also hosted talking circles for hundreds of people in her home. She died just before a planned memoir was to be released this fall.

“You can’t do it on the phone or on the web,” she told The Associated Press in a 2015 interview. “You have to be there with all five senses. It should be obvious that people can’t empathize with each other unless we’re in the same room.”

Steinem changed her career path after a start as a journalist

She began her career as a journalist, notably one who reported, in 1963, on degrading conditions in Hugh Hefner’s Playboy empire, an undercover assignment she came to later regret. She credits a meeting six years later, where women spoke out boldly in favor of abortion rights, with changing her career path.

“That speak-out was the beginning of activism for me,” Steinem, who had undergone a secret illegal abortion herself at age 22, told the AP in an email in 2022, reflecting on the reversal of Roe v Wade. “Either our control over our own bodies is equal, regardless of sex or race, or we’re not living in a democracy.”

Though she soon became a known activist, those who watched Steinem denounce discrimination for so many years likely never suspected that she’d had to overcome a deep fear of public speaking. She would have simply stuck to writing, she said, if only editors at the time had been willing to let her write about the women’s movement.

But they weren’t interested, she told the AP in 2015. “So I ended up going out and speaking, which was my nightmare,” she said. “I mean, I was terrified. But I’m grateful, even though I still get scared even now.”

Steinem’s visibility endured throughout her life

Time hardly slowed Steinem down; well into her 80s she was traveling the globe and speaking out on issues of importance to her. These included everything from genital mutilation to Korean reconciliation, but it was equality for women that took precedence. “Being a feminist means that you see the world as whole instead of half,” she once said. “It shouldn’t need a name, and one day it won’t.”

As the years went on, Steinem’s visibility endured. At 83, she sat in the front row of her first fashion show, guest of designer Prabal Gurung. A few days after her 85th birthday, she was leading a women’s “talking circle” at an off-Broadway play celebrating her life, where one by one, women in the audience — many fighting tears — rose to thank her and tell their own stories of discrimination. In 2020, her life was the subject of a feature film, “The Glorias, A Life on The Road,” based on her 2015 memoir and starring Julianne Moore.

And at 91, she collaborated on a picture book with Liberian peace activist and Nobel laureate Leymah Gbowee aimed at inspiring young people to change the world. “Rise, Girl, Rise: Our Sister-Friend Journey. Together for All” was published in February 2026.

The constant visibility came with a price; even into her older years, Steinem expressed frustration that despite her accomplishments, she was often described as beautiful or glamorous (A 1992 Vanity Fair profile even noted her “spectacular racehorse legs.”) It was a label she said unfairly detracted from her message.

“Nobody ever called me beautiful until I was publicly a feminist, and that was in my mid-30s,” she told AP in a 2011 interview. “It was clear that label was being assigned to me. The most hurtful part is that you work very hard, and people say it’s because of your looks.”

Steinem dealt with hostility from many directions

Of course, Steinem also had to deal with hostility. Sometimes it came from surprising places. Appearing on Larry King’s talk show on CNN in 1990, she was visibly stunned when a female caller greeted her cheerfully, then told her to “rot in hell” because she had ruined “the beautiful American family.”

But by then, she noted, at least people were taking feminists seriously. That wasn’t the case in 1972 when she co-founded Ms. Magazine and many commentators — especially male — dismissed it as ridiculous, predicting an early demise. (The magazine continues to this day, published by the Feminist Majority Foundation.)

Among Steinem’s detractors was President Richard Nixon, who was caught on an Oval Office tape ridiculing both her and the “Ms.” title. The ridicule was mutual: In a 1972 National Press Club speech, Steinem called Nixon “the most sexually insecure chief of state since Napoleon.”

It was just one example of Steinem’s trademark wit. Before she married at 66, she often explained her singlehood by saying “I can’t mate in captivity.” Laughter, she wrote, was “the only free emotion — the only one that can’t be compelled.”

Trump Made Pierre Damas Bel Commit Suicide!

Dreams shattered.

An Ohio man commits suicide after he became a subject of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Thanks to President Donald J. Trump, Vice President JD Vance, the U.S. Supreme Court, Republican and some Democratic lawmakers made America not so great.

A man from Springfield, Ohio committed suicide after he got ankle monitored by ICE cost him his opportunities.

The 20-year-old Wright State student took his own life on Interstate 70 out of anguish over a required ICE ankle monitor, according to local community advocates.

Pierre Damas Bel was a new student at Wright State University. He was fitted with an ankle monitor in July.

Pastor Carl Ruby of Central Christian Church wrote on social media that Bel threw himself in front of a semi “after being teased by fellow students at Wright State about his ankle monitor.”

“I wish President Trump could hear the mom’s wails. The family wants people to know that this was a suicide and they want people to know that President Trump, (Stephen) Miller, and Markwayne Mullin’s inhumane immigration policies made this happen,” Ruby wrote.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Springfield Post, troopers were called at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, to mile marker 66 of I-70 westbound. OSHP found that Bel had parked his 2006 Toyota Avalon on the right shoulder before getting out of the car and walking into the westbound lanes, according to a release.

He was struck by a 2001 Kenworth tractor-trailer tanker combination and pronounced dead at the scene.

On July 30, Bel posted a 20-photo Instagram carousel highlighting his awards, diploma, plans to study neuroscience at Wright State University, soccer team, and the electronic monitor around his ankle.

“I came to this country to pursue my education. I didn’t come here to commit a crime or hurt anyone,” he captioned the post. “Yet now I’m walking through the streets of the United States with a GPS monitor on my leg, carrying a feeling of shame and humiliation that I never imagined I would experience. I came here to study, to build my future and to live a better [life,] not to be treated like a criminal. So now, how am I supposed to play college sports with a GPS monitor on my leg?”

Bel was a varsity soccer player for Springfield City School District, where he graduated in May. He was on the National Honor Society and a member of the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.

Bel posted outfit photos of his first day of classes at Wright State on Aug. 24.

In his Instagram bio, Bel wrote he was studying both physiology and neuroscience in preparation for medical school.

The semi truck driver called 911, telling the dispatcher a man “got out of his car and jumped right out in front of my semi.” The driver said the man was “under my truck.”

“He jumped right out in front of me. Oh my God; I killed him,” the driver said.


Multiple other people called 911, including a driver who was on the opposite side of the highway. He said he saw a man fling open the door to his car before jumping in front of the semi.

Hundreds of local Haitians have been outfitted with ankle monitors either at appointments at ICE’s Blue Ash office near Cincinnati or after being detained and released, according to advocates. Many have complained of pain, swelling, blisters or the monitors interfering with their ability to work.

At the Haitian Community Help and Support Center Monday, Aug. 31, numerous people shared with volunteers that the monitors had negatively affected their lives. Many said they felt embarrassed at work, and one man told this newspaper despite his promotion to a management position at work, he feels his co-workers do not respect his authority and question whether he did something wrong, due to the ankle monitor.

Bel had a highlight reel titled “Ice” on his Instagram page, where he posted six different letters coworkers, a captain from the JROTC and teachers wrote to an immigration judge in support of his character and potential.

“It is my sincere hope that Mr. Bel has the opportunity to see his plans come to fruition, much as all young men and women his age should have the opportunity to do,” the teacher wrote. “I have no doubt that given the opportunity, he will only continue to deepen and broaden not only in his personal growth, but also in his dedication to the city, state and country that he has chosen to make his home.”

Bel was one of dozens of Springfield Haitians who had been fitted with ankle monitors or detained by ICE after their temporary protected status officially expired in late July.

DHS did not return a request for comment in time for publication.

Tiger On A Long Leash!

The Martin County Court has handed the 50 year old professional golfer Tiger Woods his sentence. This stems from this year's accident in which the celebrity crashed his Land Rover. He refused to do a blood alcohol test and was arrested. He spent two days in county lock up.

He tried to pull strings with Gov. Ron DeSantis and President Donald J. Trump. 

Woods is dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump, Jr. 

Trump, Jr. is married to Bettina Trump (neรฉ Anderson). 

Trump, Jr. Was none too pleased that Tiger got into that accident. He thought about his five children and Vanessa. But they are on amicable terms, not good terms.

Woods pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge and his driver’s license was suspended for five years Wednesday following a March rollover crash in Florida, where he initially was accused of driving under the influence.

Woods, still one of golf’s most influential figures and as recognizable as any athlete in the world, has had a remarkable fall since winning the 2019 Masters for his 15th major. The first person of Black heritage to win the Masters in 1997, his career has been derailed by multiple back and knee surgeries, car crashes and dependence on pain medication.

He was arrested in March after his SUV clipped a truck and rolled over on its side on a beachside residential road near his home on Jupiter Island.

A sheriff’s report said deputies found two pain pills in his pocket and he showed signs of impairment. He did a Breathalyzer test, which came out negative, but refused to take a urine test.

He pleaded not guilty to the original DUI charge.

Courtroom gallery is mostly empty as Tiger Woods changes plea

Before the hearing in Florida’s Martin County on Wednesday, Woods, 50, sat at the defense table looking back at the mostly empty courtroom gallery. He said little as he agreed to the reduced charge and left the courthouse without addressing reporters.

He had arrived with his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, President Donald Trump’s former daughter-in-law. She sat behind him during the proceedings.

“Tiger is not absolved of accountability and he surrendered his license for the next five years,” Mark Steinberg, his longtime manager at Excel Sports told the AP. “He is continuing his treatment and prioritizing all aspects of his health.”

Prosecutor says Tiger Woods has a tolerance to pain medicine

The prosecutor in the case said two toxicologists found there was insufficient proof of his impairment and determined Woods had built up a “pharmacological” tolerance after years of using pain pills.

Thomas Bakkedahl, a state attorney, defended his decision to accept the plea, saying, “I did what I think is right.”

Prosecutors obtained the golfer’s pharmacy records that showed he had a lawful prescription, Bakkedahl said.

The deputy who arrested Woods after the crash found two white pills in his pocket that had markings identifying them as hydrocodone, according to the arrest report. Hydrocodone is an opioid that is prescribed for pain, but it can be addictive.

Woods told the deputy he takes a few prescription medications, according to the report, including “Vicodin” — a brand name painkiller that contains hydrocodone.

He has had numerous surgeries on his legs and back over the last two decades — some to treat cartilage and ligament damage, a ruptured tendon, arthritis, and damaged discs in his back.

What a no-contest plea means

At Wednesday’s hearing, Woods also pleaded no contest to refusing to submit to testing after the crash and was fined $1,500, according to court documents. A no-contest plea is not an admission of guilt, but means the accused will offer no defense. The plea is treated as a conviction in the criminal justice system.

Andrew Buda, a defense lawyer in Tampa who’s not involved in the case, said a positive drug result from a urine test would not have been strong evidence against Woods because prescription medications can stay in the body for extended periods.

“A reduced plea to reckless driving is a plausible and unremarkable outcome — not evidence of special treatment,” said Buda, a former prosecutor. “A defendant with a good attorney who took the same steps — disclosure, mitigation, treatment — could reasonably expect a similar outcome under the same facts.”

Woods’ attorney has not responded to a message seeking comment.

Yes, Tiger can still drive a golf cart

Judge Darren Steele warned Woods that his driver’s license suspension didn’t include exceptions. “If you were to drive for any reason at all, you would immediately go back to jail,” the judge told Woods.

The prosecutor said he was confident that Woods would be spotted if he doesn’t heed the message.

“Of all the people in the world who should not get behind the wheel of a car, it’s the gentleman who is one of the most recognizable faces on the planet,” Bakkedahl said.

But there’s one vehicle Woods still can drive, at least in Florida — a golf cart.

That’s because Florida law says as long you are at least 18, you can operate a golf cart without a license. And that applies to anyone, Bakkedahl said in an email, whether you’re on a golf course or public property.

Video shows the aftermath of the crash

Body camera footage shows Woods taking out his phone after the crash and telling a deputy, “I was just talking to the president.”

Woods can be heard saying, “Thank you so much,” as he hangs up and the deputy approaches. It is not clear if Woods was referring to President Donald J. Trump.

The footage also shows the handcuffed Woods hiccupping, yawning and repeatedly appearing to nod off during the 15-minute ride.

Neither Woods nor the person in the other vehicle were injured in the crash, according to officials. Woods told a deputy that he was looking down at his phone and changing the radio station when he hit the truck.

In Washington, Trump told reporters the resolution of the case was fair.

“I told him that a long time, ’Why don’t you get somebody to drive you?’ So he’s going to have somebody drive him from now on,” the president said Wednesday. “And, you know, he’s just a very special guy. I’m glad that was resolved.”

Tiger Woods has been involved in other crashes

Woods has been involved in four crashes over the years. He took a leave from the golf tour after the 2009 crash and again after the latest crash and has yet to return to tournament play.

He left the United States to seek treatment at an inpatient treatment facility, according to court records.

Woods made his first public appearance since returning from treatment on June 23 when he introduced the PGA Tour’s plans to revamp its schedule for 2028. Woods remained as chair of the tour’s Future Competition Committee after his arrest.

Trump And Hegseth's Button Talk!

The joke is on them.

President Donald J. Trump, Department of Defense (War) Pete Hegseth and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are talking the "World War III" option.

The 80 year old curmudgeon is considering pushing the button.

This week, the U.S. launched a series of attacks on Iran. 

The Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll is out after 18 months. He is angry at the Hegseth and the direction he is pushing the Army in. No reason was given for the departure of Driscoll, who is a friend of Vice President JD Vance, but tensions with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have been widely reported. It marks the latest in a series of shakeups of the military leadership, with the Army especially seeing major upheaval.

“Secretary Driscoll has been highly effective in advancing President Trump’s agenda to Make America Strong Again at the Department of the Army by providing outstanding leadership during historic military operations, restoring an emphasis on readiness and lethality, assisting with negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, and more,” White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement.

“The United States Army is more powerful than ever thanks to his work alongside the Commander-in-Chief and Secretary of War,” she added.

A U.S. Army official, who was not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, said Driscoll spoke with Trump on the current state of the Army and submitted his resignation. The official did not provide additional details. The Pentagon referred questions to the Army. Driscoll’s resignation was reported earlier Monday by The Wall Street Journal.

Driscoll’s departure follows the ouster of one of his allies from the Army as well as the rollback of a drone program he had championed. Hegseth had suddenly ousted the service’s top uniformed leader, Gen. Randy George, in April, while the Army’s commander in Europe and Africa, Gen. Christopher Donahue, unexpectedly stepped down in June.

Gen. Christopher LaNeve, who has made a meteoric rise under Hegseth, took George’s place as the Army’s acting chief of staff. Under LaNeve, the service is pulling the plug on a drone modernization program. An Army unit based in Europe was building its own drones before LaNeve directed it to end its efforts and return to being a traditional infantry battalion, officials said in August.

Driscoll was a George ally and lamented his departure, along with both Republican and Democratic lawmakers. He told Congress in April that he and his family drove to George’s house following his resignation “and we all gave him a hug.”

“That being said, the civilian leadership, the design of our system, is that they get to pick the leaders that they want,” Driscoll added.

Republicans and Democrats respond to departure news with praise for Driscoll

Rep. Steve Womack, an Arkansas Republican who had served in the Army National Guard, said on X that Driscoll is “a transformative leader who brought common sense and discipline to the Department of the Army.”

“I had the pleasure of working with him closely, and appreciated how engaged he was from mentoring cadets at West Point to leading the Army at the Pentagon,” Womack wrote. “The Army is better equipped and prepared to tackle emerging threats because of his leadership that strengthened the force while putting our Soldiers first.”

Rep. Jason Crow, a Colorado Democrat and former Army Ranger, told reporters that he worked well with Driscoll despite their policy differences.

“It was actually nice, I will say, having somebody who was smart, that knew the policy, that wanted to do the work, that had a background in these issues,” Crow said, adding that “it’s unfortunate that somebody like that can’t last in this administration.”

Crow, who serves on the House Armed Services Committee and co-chairs the House Army Caucus, said the “Pentagon right now is, in some cases, rudderless,” with so many senior leaders gone. “So, I’m gravely concerned about it,” he said.

Rhode Island Sen. Jack Reed, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in a statement that Driscoll “worked to transform the Army for the battlefield of the future, and he engaged with Congress candidly and consistently.”

“Secretary Hegseth is cultivating a culture where dissent is punished and competence is secondary to personal allegiance,” said Reed, a former Army officer, while noting that “hundreds of thousands of soldiers are deployed around the world, many in combat zones.”

Driscoll was an unlikely negotiator in Ukraine-Russia war

Driscoll is an Iraq war veteran, tech investor and former adviser to Vance, whom Driscoll met at Yale Law School. When nominating Driscoll in 2024, Trump called him “a disruptor and change agent.”

As Army secretary, Driscoll was tapped for the unusual role of key negotiator to try to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. He was also a major force behind trying to cut the red tape for military contractors to quickly develop more drones and counter-drone capabilities as warfare rapidly changes around the world.

The Senate confirmed him in February 2025, voting 66-28, following an Armed Services Committee hearing that was largely unconfrontational and focused on how the Army could modernize its systems, improve recruiting and beef up the military industrial base.

Driscoll noted that his father and grandfather served in the Army, and he vowed to be a secretary focused on the needs of soldiers. According to the Army, Driscoll served as an armor officer from August 2007 to March 2011, deploying to Iraq from October 2009 to July 2010.

He also ran unsuccessfully in the Republican primary for a North Carolina congressional seat in 2020, getting about 8% of the vote in a crowded field of candidates.

His departure comes after Hegseth ousted several other generals and admirals, including the head of the Navy.

The Pentagon abruptly announced in April that Navy Secretary John Phelan was leaving the job, becoming the first head of a military service to depart during Trump’s second term.

Ed Markey Defeats Seth Moulton!

Age ain't nothing but a number. Progressives want fighters. Ed Markey is a fighter.

The moderates are not winning all their races. Looks like his presidential and senatorial hopes were crushed again. Massachusetts voters despite frustrations with their two senators, they are satisfied with the work they're doing.

Mind you, the frustrations are that senators are too damn old, too willing to stay in their lane and protect the status quo.

Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) fends off a primary challenger from the middle. He easily defeats Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) in a race to determine whether Massachusetts voters had enough of old man Markey.

What cost Moulton his primary win was the anti-trans remarks. Moulton publicly claimed Democrats lost in part due to their stance on transgender issues, stating he didn't want his daughters "getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete". In debates, Markey heavily weaponized these comments, accusing Moulton of "throwing trans kids under the political bus". Despite a late-stage apology from Moulton, the issue firmly consolidated progressive voters and LGBTQ+ advocacy groups behind Markey.

Moulton faced intense scrutiny after it was revealed he only rebuked and returned funding from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) after the group refused to guarantee an endorsement for his Senate run. This deeply damaged his credibility with younger, progressive anti-war voters in the state.

In the final weeks of the primary saw intense debates over national security, defense spending, and Middle East conflicts—including positions on a potential war with Iran. Markey successfully framed himself as the anti-establishment choice, utilizing high-profile endorsements from progressive icons like Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Elizabeth Warren to overcome voters' concerns about his age (80).

Markey successfully pointed to Moulton’s more moderate positions to argue that it was Moulton — not the older incumbent — who was out of touch with the state’s voters.

Markey had boasted about his 2022 climate bill and called for an end to the war in Iran to bring down energy costs. He also sharply criticized Moulton for opposing “Medicare for All” — though Moulton called for universal healthcare.

“He has a backwards-looking political agenda,” Markey said.

In heavily Democratic Massachusetts, the primary is considered the most critical election hurdle, and the winner is expected to prevail in the general election in November.

Markey has been a fixture in Massachusetts politics since the 1970s, prompting Moulton to make his “status quo” arguments on the campaign trail and to question Markey’s accomplishments during his lengthy time in office.

In a concession speech, Moulton said he would now support Markey.

“Challenging the establishment and calling for a new generation of leadership isn’t easy. But it is necessary,” Moulton told supporters. “We started conversations that needed to happen.”

“We didn’t achieve our goal tonight, but I am confident others will be inspired to buck the system when they’re told to wait their turn,” he added.

The Senate race was not the only generational challenge for Democrats on Tuesday’s ballot. A similar dynamic played out in the 8th Congressional District, where Patrick Roath hoped to oust longtime incumbent Rep. Stephen Lynch, and in the 1st Congressional District of western Massachusetts, where progressive public school teacher Jeromie Whalen faced against Rep. Richard Neal.

Wagers on whether he gets a gig on Fox, CNN or Newsnation. Seth Moulton gives up a safe seat for a risky gamble. He loses.

Moulton’s comments on transgender children were an issue

During the campaign Markey repeatedly pointed out that Moulton, in 2024, raised eyebrows among some in the party for saying he did not want his daughters playing sports against transgender girls.

Critics said he was echoing President Donald Trump’s talking points against allowing transgender athletes in girls’ and women’s sports.

Moulton later apologized for his remarks, saying it was not his intention to hurt the transgender community and stressing his support for other transgender rights bills.

“If you’re in the trans community or you’re a trans kid feeling the weight of the Trump administration and the Supreme Court, you matter,” Moulton said during an August debate. “You’re valued, and I will always have your back.”

Moulton, who enlisted in the Marines after the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and served four tours of duty in Iraq, was first elected to Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District in 2014. He launched a 2020 presidential campaign but dropped it after a few months.

Markey was elected to the Senate in 2013. Before that he represented Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District from 1976 to 2013.

Markey notably fended off a challenge in 2020 from Rep. Joe Kennedy III, a younger rival from one of the nation’s most famous political families. Markey did so by aligning himself with the liberal wing of the Democratic Party.

Antoine Hilaire, a 76-year-old Democrat who voted for Markey in Brockton on Tuesday, said being older can be a positive because it offers people experience and wisdom.

“If the older one is doing the better job, I don’t know,” he said. “He’s doing a good job. It’s not a big, big, big problem.”

Longtime Democratic House incumbents also face younger challengers

Lynch, 71, has held the 8th District seat in south Boston since 2001. He faced Roath, a 39-year-old lawyer who contended that it is time to end “wait-your-turn” politics. Lynch stressed the value of experience inside Congress.

Lynch has fended off other youth challenges in the past, but Roath’s campaign hoped for a boost of excitement after longtime Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. John Larson was defeated by former Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin in August in neighboring Connecticut. Like Roath, Bronin called for the need for generational change while running against an establishment politician.

Meanwhile the 1st District primary in western Massachusetts pitted Neal, 77, against Whalen, 39.

Neal, known as the dean of the New England House delegation, was first elected in 1988. Whalen ran to the left of Neal, calling for Medicare for All and questioning whether Neal has done enough to oppose Trump’s agenda.

Whalen recently was endorsed by Our Revolution, a progressive organization founded by Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

I See BS When They Attack Abdul El-Sayed!

Can we focus on Michigan and not the noise?

This is 25 years since the September 11th attacks.

This is 30 years since Tupac Shakur was assassinated in Las Vegas.

This is a year since white nationalist Charlie Kirk was assassinated in Orem, Utah.

This will be the month of Labor Day. 

We are gearing up for the make or break sessions for all political nominees running for office. The U.S. governor's races, the U.S. Senate races, the U.S. House races, the state government races, the mayoral races and local officials races are going to see ramped up advertising.

Michigan and Florida seem to be the staging ground for the junk food media.

Two candidates who were disrgarded as not serious are very serious. They are laser focused on changing the status quo. They are Democratic members but according to the junk food media and the politicians, they are _________________________________________________.

It has come to a point to note that people are loosing their goddamn minds over words.

They aren't upset over real life issues that affect their wallets, the mental health and their lives. It is all about stroking fear, division, clout and gatekeeping. I mean aren't you getting tired of hearing about the border.

If you are so concerned about human beings being a part of the American experience, it spunds like a you problem, not an us problem.

If you are still rehashing decades long troupes about other people who aren't like you, it only exposes you as the real threat to the country.

If you are born between 1997 and 2026, September 11th, 2001 was not even on your minds. It was on your parent's minds. It was shocking to those who saw the four commercial airliners crash. It was a failure of leadership under George W. Bush.

He capitalized on the tragedy to launch war with Afghanistan and Iraq. 

Bush led the country into a war and recession. 

Barack Obama managed to get us out of a recession, but continued the wars respectively.

He ordered an invasion of Pakistan to kill Osama bin Laden. At the time, I favored the assassination and believed his impact on the world made the U.S. less safe. Come to 2026, I realized that "the U.S. and its alliance to Israel" led to this.

There is no denying that the genocide in Gaza has sparked intense discussions to why al Qaeda vowed to topple the U.S. and its allies.

Obama support for the Iran Nuclear Deal led to Israel recruiting Donald J. Trump to be the antithesis to a peaceful world. Trump ran on the "whole system is rigged and he alone can fix it." He said that you're mad at these things because Obama left you for his people.

He won and served that choatic term which led to the dismantling of the Iran deal. He allowed Israel to illegally annex Syria, Lebanon and commit war crimes. In his first choatic term, he mishandled a global pandemic, he allowed frustrations with the status quo become unrest (George Floyd and Jan. 6) and led us to a recession. It paved the way for Joe Biden.

Joe Biden promised to "Save the Soul of the Nation." In his only term, he pulled us out a global pandemic but could not tackle inflation. He allowed the U.S. weapons be sent to Ukraine as Russia invaded. It sent food and groceries skyrocketing. Biden pushed crippling sanctions on Russia, made U.S. companies abandon Russia and kicked them out of global unity events like the Olympics. When it came to Israel, Biden gave them a blank check. Since the October 7th attacks, Israel has mounted a campaign to disrupt the Middle East as it plans on conquering land. Biden refusal to hold Israel accountable depressed voters. He was pressured out and Kamala Harris took over. Her unilateral support for Biden's policies ended up collapsing the support in states Biden carried. Trump comes back with revenge.

On Sept. 7, hip-hop will honor Tupac Shakur.

On Sept. 10, the far right will pay tribute to white nationalist Charlie Kirk and his widow Erika. She will likely remark about it along with President Donald J. Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Republicans.

The New York ceremony, Pentagon ceremony and the Shanksville ceremony will be held.

Many officials will read the names, say words and declare themselves more American than they were before the attacks.

Now we have many Americans running for office who aren't supportive of the status quo.

Zohran Mamdani is one of the first. His first year as mayor and the junk food media has devoted ⅔ of its coverage to distractions instead of his quiet successes. He will appear at the 9/11 memorial despite several surviving members demanding he doesn't attend.

CBS News has officially crossed the line between journalism and tabloid. Under Bari Weiss, the shift from trustworthiness has declined. The recent controversies are how CBS News uncovered past remarks from Michigan senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed remarking about 9/11. Zak Hudak got the greenlight from Weiss to release this bullshit.

Progressive critics, media watchdogs, and politicians (such as Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ)) fiercely criticized Hudak's framing of a story about Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed. The CBS News headline stated that El-Sayed's deleted tweets "invite scrutiny of past remarks". Left-leaning commentators labeled the headline "blatantly racist" and Islamophobic, arguing it unfairly targeted a prominent Arab-American and Muslim politician by twisting decades-old context.

El-Sayed is facing scrutiny over deleted social media posts comparing COVID-19 deaths to 9/11 victims, a story that sparked fierce internal backlash at CBS News with staffers alleging "overt racism."

I mean why do motherfuckers have to be so triggered by words and not actions. El-Sayed was a teenager when that shit happened. He like everyone else felt some type of way.

However, you fuckers want to police opinions. Had the U.S. never aided Israel, maybe September 11th would never had happened.

Let me say this unapologetically. Hasan Piker is a fucking media agitator. He is not running for government. He is entitled to say whatever the fuck comes out of his mouth.

U.S. lawmakers need to take the focus off noise and put their fucking focus on policies.

Later that evening, Status News reported that Weiss "praised the story during the network's daily editorial meeting" and that she "personally directed that the headline be tweaked to specifically mention that El-Sayed had deleted tweets referencing the September 11 terrorist attacks."

Weiss' version of the headline, which was published, "Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed's deleted tweets on Sept. 11 attacks invite scrutiny of past remarks," provided context to the substance of the report. Fox News Digital learned the pre-Weiss headline originally read, "For Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, Sept. 11 commemoration invites scrutiny of past remarks."
