The United States had lead in the coronavirus cases throughout 2020. Now India is the leading country for the coronavirus. It hasn't stopped the U.S. from being No. 1 in an area that is considered fixable but it won't because of the "culture wars."

Let's get to the National Rifle Association's Mother's Day message. It featured a white woman and a child both holding semi-automatic rifles. The message is dog whistling white extremists into believing that immigrants, Muslims, Antifa, Black Lives Matter and criminal thugs are making white women grab firearms in droves.

The United States has led in gun violence. This deadly shooting at a mobile home park in Colorado Springs was a domestic violence killing.

So while the NRA and white nationalist Republicans and their enablers of color will continue to push the notion that progressives and President Joe Biden are coming for their firearms, those who have firearms are bucking Americans every fucking day.

Shooting in Colorado Springs. We'll cover this in a moment.

Shootings happened in many parts of the United States. This is what the NRA is doing. Promoting more stupidity under guise of "protecting freedoms." You have the right to own firearms. You have a right to post you holding firearms on social media. However, once someone pulls the trigger, you have fired a round. Wherever that round hits, it's a target. It doesn't matter....something was hit. 

Folks are either dead or being treated for gunshot wounds. Folks died and folks have life altering injuries. To the NRA, that's the cost of freedom. This is the disgraceful shit that makes the NRA a problem and not a solution.

There was a shooting at Time Square in New York City. So let's get to it. Let's bring an honest discussion on why gun violence will continue to be a problem here in the United States.

There have been 195 mass shootings in less than five months.

The video footage shows gunfire and folks unaware at Times Square.

So the mass shooting in Colorado Springs, Colorado was committed in a "senseless way." It happened at a birthday party and in front of juveniles. The terrorist drove to a birthday party at a mobile home, walked inside and started shooting. He killed six people and then turned the gun on himself.

City officials told CNN that it could take several days to conduct autopsies and make forensic identifications for the victims. Colorado Springs police didn't release any new information on Monday.

Colorado Springs Police say the suspected shooter in the incident appeared to have shot himself and died. The suspect was Sandra's boyfriend, according to a family member who identified the terrorist's name as "Junior."

According to Sandra Ibarra's Facebook page, she was listed in a relationship with the terrorist.

A fundraiser to help pay for funeral expenses for the victims has been set up on Facebook.

TESSA, a Colorado Springs non-profit that works with victims of domestic violence, issued the following statement in response to the shooting.

"With heavy hearts, we struggle to make sense of the shocking violence, and devastating loss that ripped through our community on Sunday morning. While we face the harsh realities of domestic violence on a daily basis, no amount of exposure ever lessens the sheer weight of grief following such senseless tragedy. Our hearts are with those who mourn lost loved ones, and as always, we stand in solidarity with this community as we seek healing. While no amount of progress will ever undo the injuries sustained following this loss, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of a community free of violence where all people can thrive, and we will continue to support recovery in any way we can. The Colorado Springs Police Department said officers responded to a report of the shooting around 12:18 on Sunday morning. Officers found six adults dead inside the residence. One person was taken to the hospital but succumbed to the injuries.

The El Paso Sheriff's Department, the FBI and the police department are trying to piece together the motives to why this terrorist opened fire on people just trying to celebrate a moment.

Gov. Jared Polis still reeling over the Boulder King Soopers mass shooting is shocked and saddened by this. He condemns the actions of this terrorist and repeats the demands for state legislature to do something to curb gun violence in the state.

New York Police are searching for a bootlegger who shot into a crowd.

Colorado Springs mayor John Suthers said, "The only time we’ve had this many [deceased] victims in a single incident goes all the way back to 1911, and it was an ax murder, if you can imagine. A couple of families."

Hundreds miles away, New York City mayor Bill de Blasio is demanding an end to the violence in the five boroughs. The latest mass shooting happened in the heart of New York City.

The man suspected of a shooting in New York City's Times Square that injured three bystanders, including a 4-year-old girl, has been identified but is still on the run, police said Monday.

The terrorist was identified by two senior New York City Police Department officials as the person of interest in the Saturday afternoon shooting on West 45th Street and 7th Avenue, NBC New York reported. The officials said detectives think terrorist was trying to shoot his brother but missed, hitting the pedestrians in the busy tourist hub.

Police on Saturday released a video of the person of interest.

The girl, identified as Skye Martinez, was shopping for toys with her family when she was struck in the leg, police said.

NYPD officer hailed a hero when she quickly grabbed a 4-year old shot by the terrorist and treated her injuries.

Wendy Magrinat, 23, was struck in a thigh, and Mạrcela Aldana, 43, was hit in a foot, they said.

Magrinat, a Rhode Island resident who was on a Mother’s Day trip to New York City, told NBC New York that doctors told her she will likely have a bullet lodged in her leg for the rest of her life because more damage would be done if it was removed.

None of the victims' injuries were life-threatening, but Skye had to undergo surgery, authorities said.

The NYPD on Monday posted video of an officer, identified as Alyssa Vogel, putting a tourniquet on the little girl, then picking her up and rushing toward an ambulance with her.

"As a mom, I think my motherly instincts just went to, you know, 'I need to help her,'" Vogel told ABC News on Monday.

NYPD Deputy Commissioner John Miller wrote on Twitter: "Whether they’re rushing toward the danger to help save a little girl or rushing home to family after their tour this #MothersDay — the dedication of NY’s Finest knows no bounds."

De Blasio tweeted Saturday that "the flood of illegal guns into our city must stop."

Shooting incidents in New York City nearly tripled in the month of April compared with last year, from 56 to 149, according to NYPD crime statistics.

What will it take for Congress to pass gun reform laws?
Another major mass shooting.
Another lawmaker being shot.
Another insurrection on the U.S. Capitol but this time, they are armed.
Another foreign extremist carrying out a mass shooting.
Another "thoughts and prayers" and "hearts going out" reminder.

It never stops!

It never happens in your community....... Until it does! Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how this gun reform is taking away your rights. I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth. I don't want hear folks say this is not white privilege. I don't want to hear folks say masks impede their freedoms. I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. These incidents are a tragic part of American history.

We haven't forgotten about the many mass shootings in the United States. COVID-19 doesn't stop individuals from picking up firearms and killing others.

The far right complains about able body workers using unemployment benefits instead of working. 

They continue to use racial troupes to dog whistle white nationalists. The same bullshit they do whenever a Democratic president is in the White House. 

The culture wars continue to chug along.

The condescending attitudes of Americans. First things first, we need to disspell the notion that people are taking advantage of the system. Only 4% of the people are taking advantage of the federal government. They are getting caught and are facing criminal charges.

Nonetheless, our American employers are not paying a decent wage. Congress refuse to pass legislation that could raise the minimum wage. The Democrats have a slim majority in Congress. The bills being passed by the House are being stalled in the Senate. Not just by that asshole Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the Minority Leader but two white nationalist Democrats, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV). Those two are stalling the agenda on the grounds of imaginary bipartisan voting. 

The Republicans will not support anything Biden proposes. That includes their own fucking proposals.

The current rate is $7.25. 

Many states are not willing to raise the amount of pay because many white nationalist Republican lawmakers believes it kills jobs.

Biden says those on unemployment benefits will have to eventually work or lose the benefits.

A goddamn pandemic killed jobs. 

You are willing to hire a worker to do manual labor or engage with maskless idiots for less than $30,000 a year: Yeah, fuck off!

Americans should not choose their lives, their families, their health and their careers because you need unemployment benefits or the safety net.

Over 32 million jobs were lost due the pandemic.

Washed Up 45, Republicans and far right agitators keep telling you lies, distortions and misinformation. The four years of Washed Up 45 were polarizing and destructive to our establishment in the world as a powerhouse.

He dropped the ball on one of his greatest challenges as president. 

Now the very same folks who rather let you suffer in a pandemic wants you to get back to work despite the coronavirus still taking over 5,000 lives a day. Only 34% of Americans are fully vaccinated and vaccination hesitation is growing in the country.

President Joe Biden held a daily press briefing to detail the Colonial Pipeline being hacked by ransomware. The pipeline technology was hacked by a Russian operative group. The president first address the concerns that Americans making more staying at home than working.

He said that those collecting unemployment under the American Rescue Plan must accept "suitable" employment when offered.

"We're gong to make it clear that anyone collecting unemployment, who was offered a suitable job, must take the job or lose their unemployment benefits." 

Biden also stated that obvious that "We don't see much evidence of that."

The United States has continued to be a nation still griping with reality.

But since we live in a world where white nationalists who inflict their message through the Republican and Democratic Parties and through outlets like Fox, there's "widespread evidence" of fraud.

Hence, the "Big Lie" and the calls for Republicans to push legislation to force struggling families to work or starve. Struggling families to choose bankruptcy or a paycheck. Struggling Americans who must return to their two jobs and side work for DoorDash, Uber, Lyft, GrubHub and Shipt. 

We pay taxes for the city, state and federal governments. We should be able to use the government to help us from killing one another. 

With this pandemic, uncertainty in all forms of government, racial tensions, the cost of food rising, the cost of fuel, rent, continuous stagnant pay, a family of four cannot (and will not) survive on cuts to the safety net.

There are working class Americans on food stamps. Regardless of what a conservative says, being on food stamps isn't a problem. It's a need that prevents the possibility of chaos.

The pandemic, gun violence, climate change, destruction of homes, businesses and grocers has made the need for the safety net necessary. 

You think people are going to wait on platitudes to get a piece of the federal government's resources?

Hell no.

We're going to loot a store and grab every necessary available to survive.

It's this thing that helps the middle class and lower class. The safety net prevents Americans from rioting and/or looting. The safety net stops people from shoplifting from stores to feed their families.

The safety net prevents a person from robbing you of your luxuries.

The safety net is only 10% of the federal spending. The way some people put it, 50% of the federal spending goes to food stamps and welfare. Some people believe that the safety net is making people lazy. All this stuff I've heard came from bigots who think the possibility of struggling will never happen to them. 

They angry over a person using an EBT card to pay for name brand items or expensive food.

Who the fuck cares? 

The United States waste more food than any other nation in the world.

Americans are either too dumb to realize that 20 million adults and 50 million children haven't eaten a decent meal. Of course, children suffer the most from not having a good meal or the safety net.

With the rising food and gas prices, people are turning to food stamps, food banks and government assistance to keep themselves from landing in the homeless shelter.

Without a safety net, these people will rob and kill those who have the luxuries of having food in the refrigerator or in the pantry. They would steal fuel, water, bread and meat to keep feeding their families. And yet, these Republicans and their conservative allies are thinking the poor are the reasons for the economic recession. Perhaps those who complain about the poor, should walk a day in that person's shoes!

The white nationalist Republican Party is emboldened by their hatred of President Joe Biden. And now they're embolden to keep the culture wars going and promote the "big lie" going into the 2022 and 2024 U.S. elections.

House Minority Leader, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has decided to support Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and officially is going against Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

On Fox News, he tells far-right agitator Maria Bartiromo that he's all in for Stefanik.

"Yes, I do," McCarthy said.

McCarthy said Republicans needed to oust Cheney for the sake of unity in the face of what he described as destructive policies by Democrats.

"We want to be united in looking, moving forward," he said.

I'm almost 40 years old. I have political ambitions.

Stefanik, in her fourth term from a district in upstate New York, had been widely perceived as the choice to replace Cheney even before McCarthy’s statement.

Cheney has fallen out of favor among Republicans because of her dismissal of former Washed Up 45's repeated assertions that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him, a public stance very few other Capitol Hill Republicans have taken. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, also appearing on Bartiromo's show, supported those who want her out of the House Republican leadership.

"I think she made a calculated decision that she would rather be a martyr than try to accommodate her own conference," Gingrich said. "She has every right as an individual member to say and do what she wants to. But she has no right as the chair of the conference to take the power and the prestige that the conference has given her and use it to undermine the conference."

This also follows suit to the white nationalist Indiana congressman and white nationalist Jim Banks who literally continues to push the "big lie" that the election was stolen. The jackass went to Fox News Sunday to call President Joe Biden's proposals dangerous.

What a tool!

Far-right douchebag Jim Banks calls Biden's proposals for the middle class dangerous.

"Republicans are almost completely unified in a single mission to oppose the radical, dangerous Biden agenda and win back the majority in the midterm election. And any other focus other than that is a distraction from stopping the Biden agenda from what it — what it’s already done in three months," Banks said on Fox News Sunday.

That's our focus as a House Republican conference. And any leader who’s not focused on that … needs to be replaced,” he said.

House Republicans are scheduled to vote Wednesday morning on Cheney's fate.

Washed up 45 downplayed the significance of the coronavirus. It has killed over 600,000 Americans. 

However, is that even true?

Dr. Anthony Fauci is now free to express the obvious. We're not completely done and folks should use caution. The vaccinations are going into Americans. Still, Americans continue to treat this pandemic in the usual partisan lenses.

I went into Sam's Club in my area and I seen so many folks without their masks and the store still enforces the mask mandate. However, some workers are very careful to not engage in dealing with these folks.

We've seen it on social media how folks get violent when they're told to wear a mask in a business.

White nationalist Republican governors are now repealing mask mandates too early.

While the vast majority of those polled agreed that masks are an effective way to combat COVID-19, just 51 percent said they consistently wear a mask when hanging out with people outside their household. The numbers become even more stark when divided by race.

White people, the researchers found, were the least likely of any race to wear a mask consistently, with just 46 percent reporting that they wear one while in close contact with people they do not live with. That was compared with 67 percent of Black people, 63 percent of Latinos and 65 percent of people from other races.

Dr. Uché Blackstock, founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equity and a Yahoo Life medical contributor, says the statistics aren’t unexpected. “It’s not terribly surprising,” Blackstock says. “The videos that we've seen on social media and television of people refusing to wear a mask or demonstrating against it have been predominantly white.”

Anti-mask protests have indeed been dominated by white people, many of them wearing T-shirts or waving flags that bear the name of Washed Up 45. The former president was openly opposed to masks early on and did not publicly wear one until late July. He consistently devalued them throughout his presidency, saying, “maybe they’re not so good” in August and asking a reporter to take one off in September.

It appears the killer of New York rapper Pop Smoke is a 15-year old teenager. The killer and his friends were attempting to rob the rapper of his luxuries when they got into a scuffle. 

Bashar Jackson was going to be a protege of 50 Cent. He was sporting the "Woo" movement.

Last year, Pop Smoke was gunned down by a group of teens bent on stealing his diamond-studded Rolex watch, the Los Angeles Police Department confirm.


The terrorist and his buddies stormed the rapper's Airbnb rental in Hollywood Hillis also were after his Cuban link chain but only managed to swipe the watch and resold the watch for $2,000.

The terrorist, the youngest of four defendants now facing murder and robbery charges in the case, allegedly admitted his role in the slaying during a recorded interview with an informant at a juvie center last May.

"He admitted that he shot the victim three times with a Beretta 9 (mm.)," said LAPD Det Carlos Camacho. 

The detective testified at a preliminary hearing for a different terrorist, who is 20 years old. He is the sole defendant in the high-profile case.

The terrorist allegedly "admitted that they asked for the jewelry" and then had "a confrontation" with Pop Smoke during the 4am home invasion on Feb. 19, 2020.

"They got into a fight, and he shot him three times," Camacho said, citing the terrorist's recorded jail interview. "He said he shot him on the back."

The 20-year old suspect pleaded not guilty.

According to Camacho, the older terrorist similarly confessed to his role in the deadly confrontation during a seperate, secretly recorded jailhouse interview with a different informant placed in his cell after his July arrest.

The terrorist admitted the group used ski masks, gloves and a police scanner to try to evade detection.

Pop Smoke's parents Greg and Audrey Jackson were angered over the way they killed their son.

The literally shot him in the back. As he went down, they kicked him in the head, stomped on his face and then took his jewelry for a quick buck.

The suspects are facing murder charges. If some are underaged, they could be criminally charged as adults and be facing up to LIFE in the iron college. The adult is facing LIFE or DEATH if convicted.

The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

If you could put Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) at the top of the potential 2024 Republican presidential candidates, how would you see them fit in a crowded field?

The two white nationalists are vying for who could carry the mantle if Washed Up 45 decides to not run for run for president in 2024.

The two left their districts to do a promotional tour of the rumored America First Caucus. The caucus was controversial from the start. It appears that the caucus was promoting white nationalist principles and conspiracy theories.

It's right up their alley.

So these two head to the Republican graveyard called The Villages to promote Washed Up 45's false claims that the election was stolen from him. They also launched an attack at fellow white nationalist Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

Gaetz is under fire for allegedly paying underage girl for sex and pimping her. He flatly denies the allegations and is under federal watch for this.

Greene was removed from her committee assignments after allegations of posting anti-Semitic rants online. She also chased March for Our Lives activist David Hogg and called for the assassination of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

These two continue to pander to a base of white nationalists and pedophiles.

Gaetz is currently facing multiple allegations, including prostitution, sex trafficking and sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl. He's denied the allegations, instead suggesting -- without proof -- that it's part of a plot by a former Department of Justice official to extort money from his family.

Some Democrats have called on Gaetz to be removed from his committees because of the accusation and his legal troubles.

But House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has taken a neutral position on Gaetz and his future, saying that he will allow the investigation to play itself out.

The gathering appeared to be an attempt to position the two conservatives as successors to the former president's populism.

"Tell me, 'who is your president?'" Greene shouted after walking out onto a ballroom stage in front of hundreds of supporters wearing "Trump" T-shirts and "Make America Great Again" red ballcaps.

"Trump!" the mask-less crowd of retirees wearing MAGA red yelled back.

Joking that he was a "marked man in Congress ... but a Florida man," Gaetz called Washed Up 45 "the undisputed leader of the Republican Party."

"Today, we send a strong message to the weak establishment in both parties: America First isn’t going away. We are going on tour," Gaetz said. "It's no longer the red team against the blue team. It's the establishment against the rest of us."

Gaetz held up himself and Greene as challengers to the establishment and successors to Washed Up 45's populism.

"They lie about us because we tell the truth about them," Gaetz said of the establishment.

I'm going to make this clear: Vote for Shontel Brown. She is most qualified candidate for Cleveland, Akron, Mayfield Heights, Kent, Cuyahoga Falls and Shaker Heights.

The race to replace Marcia Fudge has went nasty. Former Bernie Sanders campaign advisor Nina Turner and Cuyahoga County executive Shontel Brown have now went after each other.

Fudge went on to become the second Black woman to hold this position as Housing and Urban Development secretary.

Turner, perhaps best known for her remarks about President Joe Biden being "half a bowl of shit" is now trying to win good graces with local Democrats in Ohio's 11th Congressional District. 

Turner is extremely critical of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and it's been a focus of why many moderates and progressives believe that Turner's fight to win this seat may be slipping from her grips.

First things first, Turner is being boosted by white leftists and grifters like Susan Sarandon, Ryan Knight, Shaun King, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Charlamagne Tha Rapist and Ryan Grim.

Second, she doesn't act like a Democrat. She doesn't recognize the district's roots.

She is being endorsed by the Squad and progressives lawmakers with little or no accomplishments.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have endorsed Turner for her bid. Most of them have no legislative accomplishments. Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Tlaib are often the target of ire from the far-right and some progressives. Sanders could not win Ohio in 2016 and 2020. Sanders lost the state by four points in 2016 and 25 points in 2020. 

Turner was supposed to start the People's Party. She along with leftiest extremists Jimmy Dore, Ryan Knight, Dr. Cornel West and Marianne Williamson held their own conference to encourage voters to not back Biden's presidential bid.

She rather focus attention on issues outside the district. I remember that Turner went to Bessemer, Alabama to speak on behalf of Amazon workers who wanted to start a union. Turner and Sanders' appearance at the rally kind of hurt the cause.
Shontel Brown is for the people.

The workers voted to not unionize and it became another blow to the Bernie Sanders' vision of governance.

The Intercept, a leftist, pro-Russia blog launched two attacks on Brown recently. One was the allegations of her participating in a "pay-for-play" scheme and the other the "low-key" pleading for Super PAC support. The Intercept was notorious for promoting the phony scandals involving Biden, Harris, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Michael Bloomberg. 

Black voters are not monolithic. Turner is hoping that a crowded field will advance her to become the nominee. She is competing against not only Brown, but John Barnes, Jr., James Jerome Bell, Jeff Johnson, Will Knight, Tariq Shabazz and Shirley Smith.

A crowded field will split the vote and one of the candidate could emerge as the nominee. If the race is narrowed to just Turner and Brown, then it will difficult for Turner to achieve the Democratic nomination.

The biggest game changer so far is Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH). The lawmaker representing Columbus, Ohio and inner suburbs of Whitehall, Bexley, Marble Cliff, Grandview Heights and the campus of Ohio State University endorsed Brown for Congress. Beatty is the the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus and a close ally of Fudge.

The biggest endorsement should come from Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden. They have not endorsed a candidate in the race. 

Shontel Brown and Sherrod Brown are not related.

If they endorse a candidate in the race, it will be a game changer. Trust me, Brown needs to make sure she's jockeying for the Ohio senator's endorsement.

The special primary will be held on August 3, 2021. We're a long way from the primary. If we can work hard to get Shontel the nomination, it will take all of us.

He was the person who launched a racist tirade against a Brookhaven, Georgia police officer when he was being arrested for not driving without a license and failure to appear in court for that infraction.

He was the person who was famously embarrassed by his former girlfriend Althea Hart and the landlords of his luxury apartment in Brookhaven. He was caught more than three times on police body camera launching into tirades about how he's a "victim" when the cops show up.

He is a bigot towards white people (including former partner Dave Mays), Asian people, Native Americans, women, LGBTQ and disabled people.

Now he's a idiot who posted a violation of Uber on his social media. He could be banned on Uber and Lyft for posting a video criticizing a driver for not believing in GOD. He literally said he hopes a semi-truck crashes into the driver.

He also filmed the driver without permission. So obviously, for a nearly 60 year old man, the immaturity still inhibits him.

I am going to give this guy a little bit of advice. Please stop posting your life on social media. You're embarrassing yourself. I understand you got to eat by connecting on Instagram, OnlyFans and Twitter, but damn dude, focus on things that help you and quit trying to make yourself famous.

He isn't touring right now. He's not 50 Cent, DaBaby, Post Malone and Tyga. He ain't risking his life for a buck.

Those rappers ain't taking the pandemic seriously. They'll eventually catch it or spread it. Hopefully, they do believe in vaccinations and getting their fans to take vaccinations.

Em and Dr. Dre don't have to do anything. They are set for life.

You still are bitter over the rapper destroying your career. I get that. I wasn't happy about the "Foolish Pride" audio. Em apologized. I've accepted it and moved on. Why can't you move on?

As the former Minneapolis cop who killed George Floyd appeals his sentence and calls for a retrial, the U.S. Justice Department handed him and his three former partners a federal sandwich.

A federal grand jury has indicted the four former Minneapolis police officers involved in George Floyd's arrest and death, accusing them of violating the Black man’s constitutional rights as he was restrained face-down on the pavement and gasping for air, according to indictments unsealed Friday.

The three-count indictment names those four cops. Specifically, three of them were charged with violating Floyd's right to be free from unreasonable seizure and excessive force. All four officers are charged for their failure to provide Floyd with medical care. The dirty cop was also charged in a second indictment, stemming from the arrest and neck restraint of a 14-year-old boy in 2017.

The three other former cops appeared via videoconference in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis. 

The convicted murderer was not part of the court appearance.

That dirty cop was convicted last month on state charges of murder and manslaughter in Floyd’s death and is in Minnesota’s only maximum-security prison as he awaits sentencing. The other three former officers face a state trial in August, and they are free on bond. They were allowed to remain free after Friday’s federal court appearance.

Floyd, 46, died May 25 after the dirty cop pinned him to the ground with a knee on his neck, even as Floyd, who was handcuffed, repeatedly said he couldn’t breathe. The murderer had help. They helped restrain Floyd — state prosecutors have said one of them knelt on Floyd's back and one held down Floyd’s legs. State prosecutors say Thao held back bystanders and kept them from intervening during the 9 1/2-minute restraint.

The dirty cop's attorney, Eric Nelson, argued during his murder trial that he acted reasonably in the situation and that Floyd died because of underlying health issues and drug use. He has filed a request for a new trial, citing many issues including the judge’s refusal to move the trial due to publicity.

Floyd’s arrest and death, which a bystander captured on cellphone video, sparked protests nationwide and widespread calls for an end to police brutality and racial inequities.
