The jobs report shows for the month of April, the labor market added 266,000 jobs. A far disappointment from the 1.2 million jobs that were expected. We have over 600,000 Americans dead from the coronavirus.

The unexpected results has President Joe Biden fumed. He said that the likely slow down is due to companies struggling to find workers. After all, many Americans are not going to work for less than $10 an hour. 

Many Americans who opt out of working are still using the unemployment benefits from the American Rescue Plan which has extended to September.

The US economy added only 266,000 jobs in April on the anniversary of the worst job loss for any month on record. That was far less than forecasts of economists, who had predicted America would add 1 million jobs last month.

The unemployment rate rose to 6.1% in April, up from 6% a month earlier, as more people returned to the labor force to look actively for work, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday. The March jobs numbers were also revised down to 770,000 from 916,000 reported initially.

It was the slowest improvement for jobs since January. Experts predicted that the vaccine rollout and the reopening of the economy would jolt hiring.

In normal times, adding 266,000 jobs in one month would be a solid performance. But nothing is normal in this pandemic era, and America is still down 8.2 million jobs versus February last year before the Covid-19 hit. The disappointing April jobs number shows the road to recovery from the pandemic remains bumpy.

The U.S. is hiring but many Americans are not willing to work with a pandemic ongoing.

But the labor market isn't necessarily in trouble.

As analysts come to terms with how wrong their forecasts were, they point to other data like weekly claims for unemployment benefits as proof that improvements are continuing: Last week, jobless claims dropped below 500,000, a new pandemic-era low.

"With most of the high-frequency indicators still pointing to further improvement and jobless claims falling like a stone in recent weeks ... we doubt that it signals the recovery is at risk," said Capital Economics senior US economist Michael Pearce.

The job market also isn't just snapping back to what it was before Covid-19. The dislocations across different industries and worker demographics has been too big to recover from while Covid-19 continues to infect tens of thousands of people every day.

Lower-income earners, women, Hispanic and Black workers bore the brunt of the pandemic layoffs and millions remain out of work. Yet some industries can't find workers. That may seem contradictory, but it is proof that the job market is changing under the force of the pandemic.

Industries reliant on social interactions are still rebuilding after shuttering completely last year. The hospitality and leisure industry added 331,000 jobs last month — and more than half of that increase was positions at restaurants and bars, underscoring how beneficial the rollback of pandemic restrictions is for the industry. Yet, it is still down 2.8 million jobs compared to pre-pandemic times.

Meanwhile, factories and manufacturers have trouble finding specialized and even entry-level workers as employees worry that those jobs could be sent overseas or replaced by robots.

"The details of the data show signs that the pool of available labor is extremely tight," wrote Jefferies economists Thomas Simons and Aneta Markowska in a note to clients.

Manufacturing employment declined by 18,000 jobs last month. Other areas that registered job losses were temps in business services, couriers and retail. Seasonal factors, as well as shortages could have been the reason, according to PNC chief economists Gus Faucher.

Meanwhile, average hourly earnings jumped 21 cents to $30.17 last month. That was more than economists expected, and it suggests "employers are turning to higher wages to entice workers off of their couches and also asking current employees to work longer to cover scheduling gaps," said Simons and Markowska.

The average workweek increased by 0.1 hour to 35 hours last month. In manufacturing the average hours worked per week stood unchanged at 40.5 hours.

4. The United States has led the way in vaccination. Pfizer, Mordona, Astrazeneca and Johnson & Johnson have enough vaccines to treat most Americans.

5. Biden's job approval is 54% - 46% at present time.

6. The border issue is not big enough for the junk food media. They are focused on Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and her feud with Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY). 

7. Americans are slowly returning back to normal life. Many Republican-led states are repealing mask mandates and are returning back to the full capacity gatherings. Despite the CDC warnings, the Republicans are ditching the notion of safely reopening to just partisan rancor.

Now again, we have 331.3 million Americans. The spread of 266,000 jobs has to go to the 50 states, five U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. Those who gave up looking for work also keeps the numbers down. Somehow, folks giving up looking for jobs also affects the economy.

Biden has achieved his goal of getting over 200 million vaccinations. So far there has been over 140 vaccinated Americans. There are still some who refused to be vaccinated and it could impact the progress in combating the pandemic.

Republicans vow to oppose Biden.

Biden also touted his infrastructure plan which would raise taxes on those single filers who make over $400,000 and couples making up over $800,000. 

Biden wants to return tax rates to 28% after Washed Up 45 lowered them to 21%. 

Biden has pitched another relief package for those who are still struggling. Because first responders are working nonstop. Dealing with idiots who refuse to wear masks and social distance have been stressful to the medical and science community.

Keisha Lance Bottoms to announce she won't seek a second term as Atlanta, Georgia's mayor. 

"As Derek and I have given thoughtful prayer and consideration to the season now before us, it is with deep emotions that I hold my head high, and choose not to seek another term as Mayor," Bottoms wrote in a letter published online.

"While I am not yet certain of what the future holds, I trust that my next season will continue to be one full of passion and purpose, guided by the belief that within each of us is the power and responsibility to make a positive difference in the lives of others," she wrote.

An early backer of President Joe Biden and a contender to serve as his vice president, Bottoms has emerged as a rising star in the Democratic Party. She has repeatedly used her platform as mayor of a major American city to weigh in on a slew of high-profile issues through the lens of their impact on Atlanta, from voting rights to pandemic guidelines.

Facing a high-stakes test of her leadership at home, Bottoms stepped into the national spotlight last summer by denouncing vandalism in her city as "chaos" after demonstrations over the death of George Floyd turned violent and destructive.

"What I see happening on the streets of Atlanta is not Atlanta. This is not a protest. This is not in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr.," an impassioned Bottoms said at a news conference at the time. "This is chaos."

This year, as Republican-controlled legislatures nationwide have moved to pass restrictive voting laws, Bottoms in April urged those looking to boycott Georgia-based companies over the state's new elections law to instead vote and back federal voting legislation. The mayor has slammed the Georgia law, which imposes new voter identification requirements for absentee ballots, empowers state officials to take over local elections boards, limits the use of ballot drop boxes and makes it a crime to approach voters in line to give them food and water.

She also weighed in on the motive of a suspected shooter who allegedly killed eight people, including six Asian women, in Atlanta-area spas earlier this year, saying that she believes race played a role in the attacker's motivations.

Like other lawmakers facing intrastate tension during the pandemic, Bottoms clashed with the state's Republican governor, Brian Kemp, over coronavirus guidance. Kemp filed a lawsuit against her in July over Atlanta's mask mandate that he said violated his emergency orders prohibiting local action from being more prohibitive than the state's requirements. Earlier that month, Bottoms -- who had tested positive for coronavirus -- also decided to roll back the city's reopening, citing an alarming increase in coronavirus cases and drawing Kemp's ire.

Bottoms wrote that her decision was not based on an inability to fundraise, a belief that she wouldn't win again, or fear of competition in her bid for a second term as 60th mayor of Atlanta.

"I have engaged in several elections, facing multiple candidates, and never once have I cowarded from the competition," Bottoms wrote.

A source said that the mayor made the announcement during a virtual call which included members of her finance team on Thursday night.

New York woman may have jumped to her death after a bitter breakup. The story deals with a young 19-year old woman named Saniyya Dennis. She may have committed suicide after her boyfriend broken up with her. It appears she is the daughter of Calvin Alan Byrd, best known as New York rapper 40 Cal. 

She was last seen at the campus of Buffalo State College emptying her belongings in a trash can. Then she may have taken a bus up to Niagara Falls and went to Goat Island. The last pings on her phone zero in near the falls

"It appears that this poor girl took her own life," Erie County District Attorney John Flynn told reporters during a presser.

While authorities have not located the remains, they were able to reach a conclusion based on a timeline of the last movements.

Flynn said on the afternoon of April 24, Dennis got into an argument with her boyfriend in New York City on the phone. After trying to contact him at least 60 times to no avail, she called another male friend in New York City and talked about killing herself.

The two remained on the phone for several hours before she told the male friend she had reconsidered.

About 11pm, Dennis was last seen leaving her dorm room at the State University of New York College at Buffalo (SUNY).

Niagara Falls is a waterfall and major attraction that borders the United States and Canada.

Shortly after, she was captured on campus surveillance video leaving her dorm. Dennis walked towards a garbage can on campus and threw away "personal items that would lead someone to believe that she was not returning to the dorm." 

Dennis told Niagara Frontier Transit Authority buses towards Niagara Falls. 

Dennis was last seen on New York State Park Police cameras around midnight walking towards Goat Island, where her phone was last pinged. Around 12:15am, the male friend warned in a text that he would call the police if she did not call him in 30 seconds.

The male friend called Dennis, who picked up and said that she was going to jump off a bridge, according to the DA. After talking for about an hour, Dennis later reconsidered and said she would take the bus home. The phone was not reached after 1:00am. 

The junk food media didn't cover her disappearance like they've done many white women and white girls. Matter of fact, this was a sleeper incident and it only took the DA's confirmation that she may have taken her life to get the ball rolling.

The State Police will try to look around Goat Island and American Falls where the Niagara River meets the waterfall.

On Thursday, the Florida white nationalist Republican Ron DeSantis signs off Florida's new voter law which is an attempt to restrict voting rights. He did the official signing of the law on Fox News.

This controversial move enacts restrictions on voting by mail and at drop boxes, which Democrats and voter rights activists slam as a deliberate attempt at suppressing the vote.

DeSantis signed the voter legislation on a segment of Fox & Friends, a far-right opinion program 

It was quickly passed by the Republican-controlled state legislators and is was signed into law by the white nationalist governor without hesitation.

The rest of the media, including local reporters were not allowed to witness the signing of the law.

DeSantis argues the bill protects the "integrity and transparency" of Florida's elections and that after the 2020 election, which was successful, the changes will keep the state "ahead of the curve," echoing the message Republicans have used for months to push back criticism of their legislation.

The Republicans continue to push the "big lie" that the U.S. presidential election was stolen from Washed Up 45. The U.S. elections were safe and effective. 

The legislation limits on where drop boxes could be placed, added restrictions on who can drop off a voter's ballot, a mandate that drop boxes be staffed while open, new powers for partisan poll watchers as well as a requirement that voters must request vote-by-mail more frequently.

Most of these partisan-based laws are trying to eliminate early voting, limit hours to polling places, and force workers to choose between their civic duty or their paycheck.

Fox as usual denies they were granted access. They claim that that DeSantis "did not request or mandate" the event "be exclusive" to the network. 

The very same folks who want to "cancel culture" want to cancel reality. They want to cancel transgender children from playing gender-based sports, they want to ban critical race theory, make bogus claims that President Joe Biden wants to regulate how much beef you eat, run on the canard that Democrats are socialists and the real threat to democracy. They continue to pass laws that allow more firearms in public places despite the many mass shootings since Atlanta, Boulder and Indianapolis.

They want to ignore their role in the insurrection. They want to protect a legacy of white nationalism.

They have no shame in what they do. One senator would leave his state in the middle of a massive blizzard and power outage for a vacation in Mexico. One representative would speak at a white nationalist conference. One representative would push conspiracies without any care in the world. One representative is accused of sex trafficking and sleeping with an underage girl. One top leader would rather expel members who told the honest truth than confront the bullshit his own members are pushing into the mainstream. One top leader basically said he will oppose everything Biden does.

Is this what we're going to expect in the coming years of Biden's term. Because I am not going to tolerate this shit again. We welcome Cheri Beasley to the fold. I see potential in this Black woman. I see that I am going to do what I've done for Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Jaime Harrison, Raphael Warnock and Shontel Brown.

I am going to donate to her campaign and help her win the race to fill the seat being vacated by white nationalist Republican Richard Burr of North Carolina. 

Cheri Lynn Beasley, 55 was the former Chief Justice of North Carolina's Supreme Court. She is an American attorney and jurist who previously served on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and district court of Cumberland County. She is a resident of Fayetteville.

It's going to be a challenge for Democrats going into the Midterm. Cheri could be a game changer if she gets the right team on board.

Beasley, 55, has won two statewide judicial elections: for the court of appeals in 2008 and for the Supreme Court in 2014. In 2019, Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper appointed her to lead the state's highest court but she lost her 2020 election to serve a full eight-year term by 401 votes.

"For too many families across North Carolina, the doors of opportunity have been closed," said Beasley in a video. "They've been left behind and ignored for too long. I'm running for Senate because it's time for that to change."

Former North Carolina jurist Cheri Beasley is going to be a game changer.

"Whether it's health care, education, the ability to find work that supports a family, or retire with dignity, too often Washington only responds to the well-connected, and as we come out of this pandemic, now more than ever, that needs to end," she added.

Beasley joins a growing Democratic field for the seat left by the looming retirement of  Burr, including state Sen. Jeff Jackson, former state Sen. Erica Smith, virologist Richard Watkins and Beaufort Mayor Rett Newton. Smith, who ran and lost in the 2020 Senate Democratic primary, and Watkins are Black.

North Carolina Democrats have struggled in recent federal elections. 

Republican white nationalist senator Thom Tillis managed to beat his opponent Cal Cunningham by a mere trwo points. Cunningham struggled at the end when a sex scandal broke out and Republicans (who have no shame) seized on it. Tillis was considered one of the vulnerable members along with Cory Gardner and Martha McSally. He and his fellow white nationalists Susan Collins of Maine and Joni Ernst of Iowa won their bids. 

Washed Up 45 managed to carry the state of North Carolina by two points. The state is starting to look like a swing state. With the state gaining another congressional seat and the rise of African American voters, I believe that Cheri has an opportunity to take the open seat.

Republicans are also lining up for the seat that could determine the future control of the Senate. Former Gov. Pat McCrory is currently viewed as the frontrunner against former Rep. Mark Walker. But Rep. Ted Budd is also expected to jump into the race, and Lara Trump, a North Carolina native and the former president's daughter-in-law, has not yet ruled out a campaign.

If the clown car comes to the race, I expect the far-right will boost her and put her in the crosshairs of McCrory. The one term governor will be called "weak" and not a backer of Washed Up 45.

I have North Carolina's senate race as TOSS UP-TILT REPUBLICAN. 

Hopefully Harrison and Stacey Abrams can work on getting Black voters out in mass. The shooting of Andrew Brown, Jr. will become a focal issue in the state. His death at the hands of North Carolina sheriff's deputies will be the focus of Black voters.

The Atlanta Police temporarily reinstates a dirty cop who murdered an unarmed Black man. He is currently awaiting trial. The Atlanta Civics Board found they fired him without due process.

So as he awaits his trial, he is in the freezer.

The mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms failed to give the dirty cop his due process when she terminated him and his partner. The dirty cop is being charged with involuntary manslaughter and second degree murder.

A few weeks after the death of George Floyd, the city of Atlanta faced a moment of unrest in the wake of a police shooting. The shooting of 27-year old Rayshard Brooks became another focal point in the nation.

A routine traffic stop turns into a murder.

Washed Up 45 ignored the calls to change policing and gun violence. He paid the price for failing to address the issue. Now tasked with a heavy plate, President Joe Biden wants the George Floyd Policing Act passed by Congress. 

The House of Representatives passed the bill in April. The Senate once again is where bills are going to die. The white nationalists in the Republican Party, their enabler Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and two white nationalist Democrats, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) are stalling the legislation despite calls to pass the law.

This incident also rose to national attention over how the dirty cop decided to play dumb on what type of weapon is considered a "threat to a cop's life."

So you're telling us that a Taser is non-lethal force. But if suspect grabs on the Taser, they're a threat to a cop's life. You shouldn't be a cop.

If you're a cop and you're grabbing your firearm instead of your Taser and then shoot a suspect on the grounds of it being an accident, you shouldn't be a cop. The shooting of Daunte Wright by a Brooklyn Center, Minnesota cop also involved a damn Taser. But the idiot pulled her gun and yelled "Taser" before shooting her firearm into Wright's chest. She is facing second degree murder charges too.

Okay, the civil board reversed the termination. It now places him in the freezer pending a formal inquiry into whether the city can legally fire him out the cannon. He will not be on the streets or doing paperwork. He will be forbidden from using his firearm. 

The June incident happened at a Wendy's Restaurant in Atlanta. The manager of the restaurant called the law on a man who appears to be sleeping in the drive thru lane. They woke him up and tried to conduct a breathalyzer test on him. During the test, there was a scuffle and the cop deployed the Taser.

He managed to wrestle the Taser from the cop and thus took off. As he tried to throw the Taser at the cop, the latter fired his service weapon at him. Shot him four times. 

Like most victims of police violence, the far-right wants to justify a person's previous run-ins as a reason to why it was "god's will" to kill.

The dirty cop and his partner are facing criminal charges. Not only for discharging in a large gathering but the failure to handle the matter in a safe way. Some of the people who witnessed the incident also said that cop fired into their vehicles.

Soon after the death, the alleged mistress of Brooks and three others set fire to the Wendy's Restaurant.

The restaurant was destroyed and the company has no intentions of rebuilding. The arsonists are being charged and will face up to 30 years. The dirty cop could face up to LIFE in the iron college.

Bottoms fired Erika Shields, then Atlanta Police chief out the cannon. The mayor vows to change the culture in the Atlanta Police.

The dirty cop's step-mother also lost her job. She posted offensive remarks online and made inflammatory statements about George Floyd before her step-son shot Brooks. The step-mother posed with white nationalist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
