The latest incident where police are accused of murdering an unarmed person. Another incident that flew under the radar until protests started. Another incident where we are demanding accountability and transparency.

It reminds me of the Sandra Bland incident. Another person of color dies while in custody in the state of Texas.

The death of 26-year old Marvin Scott III is getting national attention. He died in a Texas jail and the medical examiner ruled it a homicide.

Marvin's family is calling for the detention officers to be arrested.

Scott, of Frisco, Texas, was arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge by police at an outlet mall in Allen, a suburb of northern Dallas, on March 14. The officers first took Scott to a local hospital because they claim he was acting erratically. He was subsequently released and then transported to the Collin County Jail in McKinney, northeast of Allen, where he began "exhibiting some strange behavior," said the Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner in a presser on March 19.

Detention officers restrained Scott to a bed, pepper-sprayed him and covered his face with a spit mask. 

Scott was kept there for several hours and became unresponsive at some point. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital, according to Skinner, who called the incident "a profound tragedy."

"I'm not here to make excuses for anyone," Skinner told the junk food media. "People are upset, the family is upset, the community is upset, I'm upset."

Collin County's chief medical examiner, Dr. William Rohr, announced Wednesday that his finds show Scott's cause of death was "fatal acute stress response in an individual with previously diagnosed schizophrenia during restraint struggle with law enforcement." The manner of death is listed as a homicide.

Earlier this month, the Collin County sheriff announced that seven detention officers, who were initially placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation, have been fired for their alleged involvement in Scott's death. Skinner said they violated department policies and procedures. An eighth detention officer has resigned. The identities of the officers have not been released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety's Texas Rangers are investigating the death.

Scott's family said that he had mental issues. He was having a mental health crisis due to schizophrenia.

"He was using weed [marijuana] to self-medicate after being two years diagnosed with schizophrenia," said Lee Merritt, a civil rights lawyer who is involved in numerous police killings of people of color. 

He and Ben Crump are involved in this as well as the Andre Brown, Daunte Wright and Ma'Khia Bryant police shootings. 

Protests are being held in Frisco, Allen and McKinney, Texas in regards to Marvin Scott's death.

"Here, in a largely white area, Marvin stood out. He wasn't even given the benefit of the doubt as someone who needed to go to a medical facility."

The family is demanding President Joe Biden and U.S. Department of Justice investigate. They call upon Attorney General Merrick Garland to do something about bad policing in the country.

"What we saw today was horrific, inhumane, very disheartening," Scott's mother LaSandra Scott, said at a press conference. "We want these individuals arrested immediately."

Over the weekend, an incident happened between protesters and a white extremist.

An angry white man was caught on video attacking Black Lives Matter protesters in Texas over the weekend.

The incident was said to have occurred in Frisco, Texas after demonstrators stopped traffic while protesting Scott's death. The Collin County medical examiner recently said that Scott's death was a homicide that occurred "during restraint struggle with law enforcement."

Video shared online shows the white man yelling at protesters in the street before he approaches a Plano police officer and demands action.

"Get these fucking people out of the way!" the man shouts at the officer before turning to take a swing at a protester.

The man who took a swing at the protesters was not arrested. The cops did not take the guy in custody after he was seen on camera multiple times attacking a motorist and a handful of protesters. He even shoved Merritt during the protest.

The Frisco Police Department is aware of the incident and will eventually file charges against the man.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Does the junk food media portray Black men killed by police in a negative light?

Yes. Every time a Black man is killed by a cop, the police, far-right agitators and racist often justify the death as "god's will." They rather focus on the person's past run-ins and failures to comply.

No. The media gives a fair account of the situation. These incidents while tragic do not reflect on how police officers operate. The junk food media never talks about gun violence in the Black community or the many cops killed by Black criminals.

It never stops!

It never happens in your community....... Until it does! Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how this gun reform is taking away your rights. I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth. I don't want hear folks say this is not white privilege. I don't want to hear folks say masks impede their freedoms. I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. These incidents are a tragic part of American history.

The grand opening of the community co-op grocery store in West Dayton. The first grocer in nearly 40 years is opening up shop to local residents who were deprived of a grocery store. When Kroger left West Dayton in 2008, it put a gaping hole in the community. Soon after that, Aldi left the Dayton area in 2018. 

Dayton has struggled to pull in national grocers to the area. When they demolished Parkside Homes, the city was hoping to score a Walmart Neighborhood Store. It did not come. When Kroger wanted to build a Marketplace at the corner of Wayne Avenue and Wyoming Street, the deal was supposed to bring up the Walnut Hills and Twin Towers neighborhood. The company that wanted to build it, decided to back out and then went bankrupt. Grocerylane (or known as Groceryland) was destroyed by the massive tornado that hit Dayton in 2019. The Old North Dayton community was robbed of a grocery. East Dayton was robbed of a grocery store when a devastating fire destroyed the Food 4 Less store. Now a Dollar General (Market) has replaced the location.

When I heard about the Gem City Market in 2014, I thought it was going to wishful thinking. I am sure glad I was proven wrong. It took almost five years before they broke ground. During the time, they had delays in building and getting the proper zoning in place.

But now, Gem City Market is complete and will open for business in mid-May. 

Gem City Market, on the corner of Salem and Superior Ave., will be a vibrant, community-centered grocery store with well-trained, friendly workers (who are also owners!) who know the value of providing exceptional service. The Market will restore grocery service to Northwest Dayton for the first time in over a decade.

For those who live in the city of Dayton, Ohio, you know this city is part of the Rust Belt. This community of 142,000 residents have seen rapid declines since the 1980s. Now 40 years later, no sign of improvement. 

It appears that neighboring Springfield, Ohio is considered one of the hottest places to buy a home. The city with a population of 33,000 residents will see a slight rise due to the housing boom.

Dayton, Ohio does not have a Walmart in the city limits. The Kroger Company will eventually close the Smithville Road and Burkhardt Road locations and merge it with the proposed Kroger Marketplace in the old Kmart facility. It will force East Dayton residents to Riverside, Ohio for their local grocery needs.

It will also close one of the few remaining classic Kroger stores in the area.

West of Interstate 75 is considered a food desert. Yeah, there's IGA grocers, Foodtown, Save-a-Lot and People's Market. 

Kroger planted a location in Fort McKinley, an unincorporated community just a mile outside of Dayton. Walmart is located in Butler Township, Englewood and Moraine. It abandoned Trotwood and moved four miles. Meijer is located in Englewood and Huber Heights. Meijer abandoned its Dayton location and moved six miles into Huber Heights.Target is located in Huber Heights and Miami Township.

Aldi is located in Englewood.

The residents of Dayton have choices of Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Dollar General and local oddities.

Being a food desert is rooted in racism. Please let Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) know this.

With communities of color struggling to survive in a pandemic, systematic racism and gun violence, food deserts exist.

Welcoming a grocery store in West Dayton is a small step but a long way to improve the community once beloved as the Gem City.

There is tensions in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The latest police shooting of an unarmed Black man has touched the nerve of the country.

The funeral of Andrew Brown, Jr. is being held today. The 42-year old father was shot and killed by the Pasquotank County Sheriff's Department. Seven cops are off the beat and protesters demand for the release of the body camera footage and dash camera footage.

The families of Daunte Wright, George Floyd, Ma'Khia Bryant are in attendance. 

Ben Crump, Al Sharpton and William Barber are going to address the shooting, demand a call for Congress to pass the George Floyd Policing Act and demand Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) work to pass the legislation.

Andrew Brown, Jr. will not be forgotten.

The shooting came only a few hours after the conviction of the former Minneapolis cop who killed Floyd.

His death in May 2020 has touched a wave of protests and calls for reform in policing and gun violence. 

Floyd's death was the catalysis for change. Washed Up 45 ignored the calls for change and paid the price for that. Now President Joe Biden heard the call and he's working to change the status quo.

However, he is still dealing with Congress not willing to move the needle on changing the status quo.

The widow of the late white nationalist Republican lawmaker now throws her hat in the ring.

Susan Wright, the widow of Ron Wright, a Texas lawmaker who died of the coronavirus in early 2021 is running to replace him. She is now in a hotly contested special election. She will face off against Texas state representative Jake Ellzey. 

Wright, a longtime activist in local Republican politics, emerged from a 23-person field as one of the top candidates to represent the 6th Congressional District. She won more than 19 percent of the vote.

It will likely stay in Republican hands. The Democrat in the race placed in third and couldn't advance to the runoff. Jana Lynn Sanchez, the leading Democrat in the race conceded. 

"Democrats have come a long way towards competing in Texas, but well still have a way to go," Sanchez said in a statement. "Unfortunately ... we came up short, and two Republicans will be competing to represent this congressional district."

So over 60% of the vote went to the Republicans. 

The swath of suburban Dallas-Fort Worth is conservative. Wright represented the district for three terms before his death. Wright won his district by 9 points. Washed Up 45 put the district in Democrats crosshairs. He barely carried the district.

Ellzey is a staunch supporter of Washed Up 45 and he's going to paint Wright as a part of the anti-Trump crowd.

Regardless of who wins, the Republicans will embrace their white nationalist ways.

A former Arizona state representative was seen at the "Stop The Steal" rally is now reviewing the ballots the Arizona Republican Party sought an audit on. The revelation is monstrous.

An Arizona Republic reporter was removed on Friday during an audit of the state's presidential ballots after he snapped a photo of Anthony Kern reviewing the ballots. He was seen on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

He ran for reelection last year and placed last in a three-way race, losing his seat. He was also listed an elector for Washed Up 45. This won't affect the outcome nor force President Joe Biden out of office.

It will only insist that the Republicans are going to find ways to undermine democracy.

The review of 3.1 million votes cast in Arizona's largest county Maricopa County is being under audit.

Maricopa County has 5.3 million residents.

More than 40 Democrats in the Arizona state Legislature called on the Justice Department to investigate Kern after the Capitol siege. His “own social media posts strongly suggest” that Kern was “present at the riot in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, and actively encouraged the mob, both before and during the attack on the Capitol,” the letter said.

He later “blamed antifa,” the letter noted.

Kelli Ward, the controversial Arizona GOP leader sponsored this ballot audit.

Kern refused to turn over his cellphone so investigators could examine his emails and text messages related to his travel to the Capitol that day, Newsweek reported.

Kern has denied any wrongdoing.

The CEO of Cyber Ninjas, the Florida-based firm that Arizona’s Republican Senate has hired to manage the audit process, told reporters last week that workers were screened to ensure “there was nothing on their social media or other details that showed strong opinions one way or another.”

But Cyber Ninjas itself is headed by founder Doug Logan, a promoter of the “Big Lie” conspiracy theory that the presidential election was stolen. Months before the process started, Logan retweeted messages claiming that an audit would find hundreds of thousands of new votes for Trump.

Voter and civil rights organizations are so alarmed that they’ve written to the Justice Department for federal monitors out of fear that ballots will be damaged, stolen, altered or lost.

Ejected reporter Ryan Randazzo tweeted that he was initially allowed at the recount location at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum an hour late. He witnessed a confusing shuffling of boxes stuffed with ballots that were examined with no obvious organization.

A spokesman for the recount operation said Randazzo was ejected because he took a photo of a ballot.

“He tweeted out a tweet that included a picture of a ballot. We are being extremely cautious based on the judge’s decision. He doesn’t want ballot images made public,” Ken Bennett, a former GOP secretary of state who has been serving as the Republican state Senate’s liaison for the controversial process, told the Arizona Republic.

Washed Up 45 lost fair and square. Doug Ducey, the Republican governor confirmed that Biden had enough ballots to win the state. It was certified and the state went to Biden.

Maricopa County with a population of 3.2 million residents is the hub of four of Arizona's largest cities. 

Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Buckeye, Chandler, Mesa, Scottsdale, Surprise, Tempe and Goodyear are in Maricopa County. Phoenix, Chandler, Mesa  and Glendale have populations over 500,000 residents.

The audit findings will have no effect on President Joe Biden’s victory in the state by a 0.3-point margin, which has long been officially certified. But claims of new votes for Trump could undermine faith in a legitimate election and lead to further unrest.

Extremism is on the rise in the United States. The white nationalist Republican Party is emboldened with the notion to create turmoil in the wake of Washed Up 45's defeat. Instead of trying to win over American voters, the party of white supremacy will try to conjure up legislation to prevent transgender girls from playing in women sports, banning actual teachings of America's controversial existence.

Republicans still seething over their election loss to President Joe Biden have now vowed to undermine democracy, inflict harm on personal freedoms and offer a side of culture war issues in a lame attempt to regain power.

There are nearly 30 states that are imposing a ban on transgender girls from competing in sports. 

There are laws that are being imposed by Republicans to undermine the integrity of the U.S. elections.

There are laws to punish big tech from banning controversial figures like Washed Up 45.

There are laws that are meant to punish women who decide to have termination at an early stage.

There are laws that are going to restrict LGBTQ from adopting children and donating blood.

There are laws that will ban critical race theory. 

Democrats are calling the acts a distraction. They are saying that the attacks on Biden are desperation. 

Obviously, the white nationalists seized on a phony story from The Daily Mail claiming that Biden's climate change agenda will regulate how many hamburgers Americans eat. The whole notion of that was ridiculous to begin with, but it did not stop Republicans and their allies in the junk food media to promote the lie.

The New York Post also published a story with the dubious claims that the federal government was offering non-citizen children a book written by Vice President Kamala Harris. Her book, "Superheroes are Everywhere" was an illustrated book to empower young women. A charity group donated the book to the government facilities that are housing non-citizens. 

The Rupert Murdoch rag went with the notion that Harris is profiting off the border crisis. On top of that, they're complaining that the president and vice president aren't at the border. They want the president and vice president to interrupt thousands just for a few minutes at a shelter. With some of them with positive COVID-19 cases, the risk is far too great for our leaders to be there. Besides, they would complain if they went anyway. They'll call it a photo-op.

The reporter who wrote that piece for the New York Post resigned. She claimed that the far-right tabloid forced her to write it. She said that the company has no standards and she felt the time is to leave the rag.

These issues have sink into the far-right's diet of misinformation, extremism, denialism and stupidity.

Republicans and their obsession with culture war issues will only backfire. They can't even find a way to go at Biden. So instead of going at the president, they'll tag him to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). 

They will focus on attacking Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Hillary Clinton. Even though Clinton has no longer operated in public office, the far-right can't seem to let her go as well.

On top of that, the Republicans continue to push Q'Anon theories and endorse white nationalist like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (G-GA) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

The Republicans embracing conspiratorial themes are also dangerous. The insurrection happened on Jan. 6. The Republicans would love to see us forget about it. After all, they're more concerned about Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), LeBron James, Joy Reid, Don Lemon and Colin Kaepernick. 

The white nationalists have pushed for a recall election of California governor Gavin Newsom. 

The very same folks who complain about LeBron James cheer on Caitlyn Jenner. The very same folks who want athletes to stop talking about politics are happy to see Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) in Congress. Owens was a former NFL player turned political agitator. He is now a lawmaker.

They are cheering for carpetbagger Hershel Walker to leave Texas for Georgia. They want him to take on Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), the senior pastor and reverend of Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Republicans are obsessed over transgender girls, Antifa, Dr. Seuss, The Muppets, Pepe Le Pew, Lil Nas X's Satan Shoes, hamburgers, masks and vaccines.

These issues are not helping Americans. It's only to satisfy a base of white extremists who felt the Republican Party didn't do enough to deliver Washed Up 45 a victory.

We must find ways to beat Republicans. The Census will grant Republican leaning states new opportunities. With the U.S. Representation declining in California, the Midwest and the Northeast, Republicans are now devoted to redistricting and making advantages in representation.

All these issues must be address quickly and we can't take our foot off the pedal.

I hate white nationalists. It doesn't matter which side of the political aisle, I just hate white nationalist and the principles they stand on. Conservatism is doused with white supremacy, denialism and stupidity.

The Democrats are fed up with Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. The West Virginia senator and Arizona senator have been nothing more than thorns in the side of President Joe Biden's back.

The House of Representatives have passed a resolution that recognizes the American people living in the District of Columbia have the right to declare statehood. It would authorize the commission for statehood and grant the federal district an opportunity to become the 51st State. 

The District of Columbia has a population of 725,000 residents. It has more population than Wyoming and Vermont and yet the District of Columbia is not a state and it has a non-voting delegate who can't participate in a floor vote. 

Rep. Elanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) is a delegate non-voting member of Congress. She along with five other members of the Congress are not allowed a floor vote. The District of Columbia allows residents to vote in the presidential election. The U.S. commonwealths of Puerto Rico and Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam and U.S. Virgin Islands can't vote in presidential elections.

Manchin officially sunk the notion of statehood and voting rights for U.S. territories. 

The voters approved for Washington, DC to be a state.

Manchin said Friday he would not back a House-passed bill making Washington, DC, the nation's 51st state, arguing that the process should be done through a constitutional amendment.

During a radio interview on WV MetroNews Talkline, a West Virginia news outlet, Manchin said that he wouldn't support Democrats unilaterally enacting statehood and said previous Justice Departments had already examined the issue.

"They all came to the same conclusion," he said. "If Congress wants to make DC a state, it should propose a constitutional amendment. It should propose a constitutional amendment and let the people of America vote."

When asked, Manchin reiterated said that he would not support a standalone statehood bill.

"I would tell all my friends ... if you go down that path because you want to be politically popular ... you know it's going to go to the Supreme Court," he said. "So why not do it the right way?"

Manchin's position severely imperils the legislation and underscores the tenuous position that Democrats have in the evenly divided Senate, which the party controls due to Vice President Kamala Harris's tiebreaking vote. Any Democratic defection can doom major legislation, especially with Manchin and Sinema opposed to eliminating the Senate filibuster, which creates a 60-vote threshold to break.

Late last month, the Democrat-controlled House passed the DC statehood bill, also known as H5 51, which would give the new state of Washington, Douglass Commonwealth, two senators, a full voting member of Congress, and a governor.

The vote was 216-208, with no Republicans supporting the legislation.

The legislation, which is strongly supported by President Joe Biden, would shrink the size of existing federal district to include landmarks such as the White House, US Capitol, and the National Mall.

GOP congressional leaders have decried the bill as a Democratic-led "power grab," despite past support for statehood from conservatives like former President Richard Nixon and the late Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona.

Sinema infamously voted down the $15 minimum wage.

But even with united Republican opposition, the bill has run into additional turbulence among Senate Democrats.

The vote was 216-208, with no Republicans supporting the legislation.

Bad cop off the beat.

The very same folks who tell LeBron James to shut up and play ball elected a reality television star who's catchphrase is "You're Fired!" The very same folks who attack the Oscars and President Joe Biden for low ratings are not a bit concerned about the insurrection.

The irony of the far-right. They prop up Black enablers of white supremacy like Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) to make the ridiculous claim that "racism in America" doesn't exist. They elected former NFL star and political agitator Burgess Owens to Congress. They are trying to encourage former NFL star Herschel Walker to run for the U.S. Senate. They have Randy Quaid and Caitlyn Jenner considering a run for governor of California. 

They praise celebrities like Kristie Alley, James Woods, Chuck Norris, Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Chuck Woolery, Jon Voight and Rose McGowan while attacking entertainers who criticize Washed Up 45. We watched videos of police officers use non-lethal force on white suspects who attempt to stab them. We watched videos of white suspects escaping custody while on spring break. 

We watched white suspects get into the faces of police, throw their entitlement and say to them, they'll take their jobs. We see police officers continue to post bullshit on social media, high five one another after they brutally take down an elderly woman with dementia. We see them shoot Black men in the chest when they come out of a garage with a phone. We see them shoot a 16-year old lunging at another with knife.

Some say that shooting 16-year old Ma'Khia Bryant was the right call. Within second of seeing the teen attack another teen with a knife, he shot her. Some argue that the Taser should have been deployed and the cop didn't even render aid when he shot her. He was on the Columbus, Ohio Division Of Police for less than two years.

It comes after a string of police shootings in the city of 1.4 million.

James tweeted "You're Next" with the hashtag Accountability.

Like most of us, we were shocked and angered about the shooting. Most people of color are getting fed up with cops shooting unarmed suspects or not using non-lethal force when it comes to these issues.

Celebrities and athletes are tired of seeing injustice. That's why LeBron James exist. He grew up in Akron, a city that is racially segregated. 

Columbus, Ohio is the only city in the Midwest that has grown significantly in population. The city has experienced a boom in population while the rest of Ohio seen decline. Ohio is losing a congressional district.

James was upset that the cop Nicholas Reardon decided to use deadly force within a split second. 

The famed basketball star posted on social media, "You're Next!" before deleting it. 

James wrote with the hashtag “accountability,” in reference to the guilty verdict Tuesday for the former Minneapolis police officer who killed George Floyd.

The image came from a bystander's video, and it is unclear whether it was Reardon being shown.

But James clarified the tweet by saying it's "being used to create more hate."

"This isn't about one officer," James wrote in a follow-up post. "It's about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY."

The tweet caught the attention of the pearl clutchers of the far-right. Now the police unions and far-right agitators are calling for the NBA to punish him.

An Idaho cop is in the freezer after he posted a viral video on TikTok criticizing James.

The police department he serves issued a statement saying his statements don't represent the department and it "is a personnel issue that is being dealt with internally."

Deputy Nate Silvester with the Bellevue Marshal's Office posted a TikTok last week that mocked Los Angeles Lakers superstar.

In the video, Silvester pretends to have the NBA star call him as he watches an imaginary Black man stab another imaginary Black man. 

"So you don't care if a Black person kills another Black person, But you do care if a white cop kills a Black person, even if he's doing it to save the life of another Black person?" Silvester said in the TikTok. "I mean it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then again you are really good at basketball so I guess I'll take your word for it."

On Tuesday, the Bellevue Marshal's Office posted a statement on Facebook acknowledging that the agency is aware of Silvester's TikToks and thanked everyone who reached out to the office about the issue.

Ma'Khia Bryant was shot by Columbus Police after a domestic dispute.

"The statements made do NOT represent the Bellevue Marshal's Office. The Bellevue Marshal's Office always demands that our Deputies engage with our citizens in a friendly and professional manner," the office said.

The Marshal's Office added that "This is a personnel issue that is being dealt with internally."

According to the Idaho Mountain Express, Bellevue Mayor Ned Burns confirmed that a formal complaint has been filed by a citizen against Silvester. The mayor told the paper that he couldn't say if the deputy marshal has been suspended.

"This is NOT how we expect our Deputies to act on duty or use city time," the Bellevue Marshal's Office wrote.

When the junk food media spoke with Silvester on Tuesday, he said he was unaware of the complaint and couldn't comment further on the matter.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Silvester while he is suspended without pay. As of Thursday afternoon, it has raised over $110,000.

In a YouTube video, Silvester said he is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and that the funds raised are "going to be used to make more content to shed positive light on law enforcement."

He said the content would "shift the focus" away from himself to the bigger picture, which is "law enforcement officers who find themselves in situations where after they've done their job and they've done the right thing, that they're bing attacked by media and celebrities and people who want to vilify and crucify police officers for just doing their job."
