The Medal of Freedom and Medal of Honor were given to individuals at the White House.
Manipulated media once again plays a role in the U.S. elections. Far right agitators fall for a clip of President Joe Biden placing the Medal of Honor on a U.S. veteran. According to them, the president placed the medal on backwards.
Conservatives are easily manipulated by misinformation. That is a fact.
It quickly spread and it took nearly three hours before the fact checkers debunked it.
A grainy and blurry version of a clip in which Biden put the medal around one of the veterans, Dwight Birdwell, started circulating on social media platforms, with users falsely claiming that the president put the medal on backwards.
The president placed the medal on Birdwell correctly.
The very fact the far right did that was obvious. They are willing to spread misinformation to win.

The conspiracy theories about Biden's health, age and agenda have been a common theme among the far right and leftists. These extremist have no shame.
Birdwell, who was honored for his help heading off an assault and evacuating wounded at Tan Son Nhut Airbase near Saigon in 1968, despite injuries to his torso and face. The blurriness of the video circulating online makes it difficult to see whether Biden places the star-shaped medal on Birdwell’s chest or back.

Megan Rapinoe, Simone Biles, Cindy McCain, Gabby Giffords and Denzel Washington were honored at the White House as well. Denzel could not make it because he tested positive for the coronavirus.
