Dr. Dre lost a rap beef with a real doctor. |
Rap legend Dr. Dre finds himself on the losing end of a trademark hearing when he tried to sue a popular Miami doctor.
Andre Romelle Young is the world famous producer, rapper, and media mogul who is co owner of Beats Audio equipment, an APPLE company. He was part of the supergroup N.W.A. and the executive producer of Eminem and Kendrick Lamar's rap projects.
Dre was suing OBGYN doctor Draion M. Burch, a media personality who focuses on women's health.
The doctor goes by the name Dr. Drai.
The good doctor, Drai. |
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected the request. The trademark office claims that while Dr. Dre is well connected to hip-hop, Dr. Drai, is synonymous for obstetrician and gynecologist.
Drai is a motivational speaker and isn't trying to infringe on the media moguls namesake whatsoever.
Drai said that he was given the nickname since he was a child. He can't change that.
