Davion Navar Henry Spends His Holiday At A Happy Home!

Teen will have a holiday with an adoptive family.

Teen who goes to the internet for a plea to find him an adoptive family gets his wish.

15-year old Davion Navar Henry was a child without a family. He was born to mother serving time in the iron college. And during his life he's spent most of it in the hands of Florida Family Services.

This year, I am guessing that a plea on the internet may help this young man gain the opportunity to have a family. The Tampa Bay Times talks to the young boy and ask him how his plea managed to gain so much attention.

Last spring, after discovering that his birth mother had just died, he determined to find someone to adopt him.

He first shared his quest with the Tampa Bay Times in a front-page story Oct. 8. It told of his visit to St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, where his caseworker had arranged for him to take the pulpit.

In her 28 years working with foster kids, Connie Going said, she had never known one who wanted to put himself out there like that. To risk being rejected. Again.

"I know God hasn't given up on me," Davion softly told the congregation. "So I'm not giving up either."

After the service, dozens of people hugged Davion, congratulated him, offered to take him to a Bucs game.

After the Times story ran, hundreds of couples across Tampa Bay called Going to ask about adopting him. Others wanted to mentor Davion, send him gift cards, contribute to his college fund.

Davion's day in church has been the most popular story on tampabay.com this month, with more than 132,965 views through Friday.

It has also gone viral on social media. More than 20,000 people shared it on Facebook and Twitter. Publications across the country picked up his prayer and posted his picture.

"I've never seen anything like this," said Going. "His simple plea just struck a chord with the world."

Newspapers in England, Australia and Japan carried his story. Websites from Fox News to Yahoo, Reddit and Gawker, MSN, People, Cosmopolitan and the Huffington Post. Television networks from ABC to Al Jazeera. He was on the Today show. Producers of The View flew him to New York for an interview.

Davion had never been on a plane, never been out of Florida. He borrowed his mentor's yellow sweater and shiny dress shoes, shuddered in the seat beside his caseworker and buried his face in his hand-held PlayStation during the whole trip.

His caseworker, Going, thought about making him look up at the skyscrapers, check out Times Square. "But I needed him to feel safe," she said. "This has all been so overwhelming."

As the TV lights bore down on him and the cameras zoomed closer and those four women he had never heard of kept hammering him with questions, Davion felt sick. But he held his head high.

And when Barbara Walters asked him to describe his perfect family, Davion said simply, "Anyone who would love me."

Going got so many calls that her agency, Eckerd, had to hire a public relations firm, Hill & Knowlton Strategies, to help manage media requests. Her supervisor drafted more than 60 volunteers to set up a phone bank and field all the calls. Now Davion isn't just a boy, he's a URL: www.eckerd.org/davion.

Strangers from every state wanted to adopt Davion. Couples who couldn't have children, families who had taken in five other foster kids. Young, single moms and graying grandparents, all offering their homes, their love — a future for a boy they had never met.

Some of Davion's relatives came forward too. He had met a few of them over the summer, but none was eligible to adopt him. After his story ran, other cousins called Going, wanting to meet him and help.

"We are following through with every offer, explaining the process to people and directing them to have home studies done," said Going. "I have no doubt that, because of these inquiries, we will find a family for him."

Couples who have already passed adoption home studies are being considered first, Going said. Families without young children, or who have experience with teens and traumatized kids, also receive priority. And though people from other states are eligible to adopt, Going said Eckerd is giving special consideration to Florida families who could keep Davion in contact with his friends and mentor.

Over the next month, adoption specialists hope to narrow down the thousands of inquiries to 100 or so, Going said. Then she will present 10 options to Davion. "He will have a say," she said.

He could be in a new home by Christmas.

Davion said he is amazed that "so many people actually want me."

But, he said, "that's not the best part."

Many of the people who called offering to adopt Davion had no idea so many teenagers are in foster care, Going said. Teens are often the most difficult to place — and need parents the most.
A fighter.
By sharing his story, Davion has become a voice for all those other kids like him.

"We have more than 100,000 kids in foster care across the country, just waiting for someone to take them in," Going said. "We have been encouraging everyone to look at all the other kids who need them."

On The View, Jenny McCarthy called it "The Davion effect."

Davion just calls it "cool."

"I know what it's like to have nobody, with no light at the end of the tunnel, no one who wants you," Davion said Thursday after school. "I just keep saying, 'There's only one me. But all my friends, all the other guys at the group home, all these other kids need families too.

"I just hope they don't give up. And that someone gives them a chance."

AK 47 Creator Passes Away!

Michael Kalashikov.jpg
I wanted to make things for the good of people. It's not my fault that you use this stuff to kill people!

If you're popping off a round from the AK 47, you probably showing your condolences to the founder of the powerful firearm.

Mikhail Kalashnikov, a former Soviet Union inventor created the popular firearm died this week.

He died at the age of 94.

A former tank commander for the Soviet Union’s Red Army, Kalashnikov began designing rifles after an injury in World War II sent him to the hospital and soon earned the nation’s highest honors for designing mass-produced, highly efficient guns.

His most famous assault rifle design was the AK 47, one of the most famous assault rifles in the history of ever (and is so iconic that it is actually on the flag of Mozambique). According to the Kalashnikov family, over 100 million AK 47s have ever been produced, many of them illegal copies of the original, and have been used in practically every major conflict in the past sixty-five years.

I wonder if the racist right didn't know they're Communists?

After all they're so scared over Communism. They're calling the first Black president a "gun grabbing Communist" because he believes those type of weapons were used in multiple mass shootings over the past fifteen years.

Columbine, Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook, Aurora and Tucson were examples of the AK 47 and AR 15 being used in mass shootings. But that's okay, as long as we continue to use them, our friend Mikhail Kalashnikov is the one guy who you thank for the stubborn gridlock by Republicans.

When he was on Loserville in 2007, he told the interviewer
File:AK-47 type II Part DM-ST-89-01131.jpg
The world's most popular firearm is the AK 47.
“I sleep well. It’s the politicians who are to blame for failing to come to an agreement and resorting to violence,” Kalashnikov said Friday at a ceremony marking the birth of the rifle, whose initials stand for “Avtomat Kalashnikov”…

“Blame the Nazi Germans for making me become a gun designer,” said Kalashnikov, frail but sharp at age 87. “I always wanted to construct agriculture machinery.”

You can sleep well knowing that so many innocent people who aren't causalities of war were victims of your invention. Hey, that's what counting money feels like. It's like counting bullets.

Mike Huckabee Might Run Again!

Mike Huckabee might run for president again!

Former Arkansas governor, talk radio host and Loserville feature is signalling another run for a likely defeat.

On a personal level, I won an opportunity to go to Florida in 2007. I won the YouTube/CNN challenge. I done a video on YouTube about my community and asked the Republican candidates how they could help move the country forward. The opportunity came when I was one of twelve people who had the opportunity to head to St. Petersburg for the CNN Republican debate. I got the opportunity to meet Anderson Cooper and then perennial losers Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

I met Mike Huckabee and conservative activist/actor/trainer Chuck Norris at the event as well.

A great opportunity to meet the candidates. The candidates were hoping to be the anti-Bush and then then anti-Clinton (later the anti-Obama). Huckabee lost his bid and move on to becoming a talk radio host.

But now in 2013, I am disgusted with Republicans. I can't stand the way they've attacked President Barack Obama. The way its going, I might avoid voting for the mainstream candidates and throw my vote to the second-tier candidates.

It's like the next election is another yawn of candidates who are either too old or too freaking crazy to be in the White House.

No one can beat the first Black president.

So what gives them these next line of losers an opportunity to be viable?

It's like a redo of the same losers of 2008 and 2012, respectively running. I hear Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee and Jon Huntsman thinking about running again!

Then the Stallmigos are getting political buzz. They have no accomplishments, but yet they're thinking about running for the office. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rand Paul (R-KY) are the three Stallmigos who blocked and filibustered most of the president's nominees and the Democrats proposals.

I hear Vice President Joe Biden is going to run again.

I mean I'm hearing talk that Hillary Clinton will run again. At age 68, would she be capable of handling pressure. I mean her husband survived two terms with a stubborn Republican majority. He managed to survive his marriage after he had an affair with an intern or two. Yet, he managed to become one of the best presidents of the last century.

I hear talk from Democrats about a mayor from San Antonio, a former governor from Montana, a soon to be former governor from Maryland, a governor from New York and a senator from Massachusetts are being the next wave of political players.

I mean here we have the first Black president and his job approval is down. Some (if not most) of Barack Obama's harshest critics may tend to look at his race as a factor. Why?

Because the racist right looks at Black people as "natural born criminals". So with all this talk about him being unpatriotic, not an American citizen, a Muslim, a Communist, and a racist is the political dog whistle of those of the racist right.

Mike Huckabee goes to Loserville News Sunday and talks to Chris Wallace. He is often asked about why he didn't want the stressful job of being the President of The United States.

“It would be, frankly, dishonest to say no,” said Huckabee, a Loserville commentator, who plans to make a final decision after the 2014 elections.

Huckabee suggested that Americans tend to show less regard for a single, working mother than a member of the ruling class. He also defended his recent statement that Washington and Wall Street is the “axis of evil,” suggesting the connection between power and money doesn't regard the needs of middle-class Americans.

Americans have indeed embraced populist Democratic candidates over the past several months, including New York Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio, whose campaign focusing on perceived income inequality resonated with New York residents.

However, Huckabee made clear, “I don’t want big government to determine what income equality looks like.”

Huckabee decided in 2011 not to enter the most recent presidential election campaign, saying: “All of the factors say go, but my heart says no.”

On Sunday, he said there is about a "50-50" chance he will run. Huckabee also said his final decision would still come from the heart and that Republicans already have “a strong stable of candidates” for 2016.

He wants some considerable thought to running for the office once the U.S. Midterms settle down.

Yeah, Huckabee got into the flap over Duck Dynasty and even compared Phil (Robertson) to the president.

Yeah good luck on running for president. He won't stand a chance.

If Huckabee was to run for the office, he will immediately be let go from Loserville. Then he'll create a SuperPac. And then you'll hear about his appearances in Iowa, or at Liberty University.

I guess in January you'll hear the candidates declare their intentions to run. From there we're off to 2016.

Do you think the compassionate conservative will win?

Do you believe the Republicans will doom themselves to failure by being "too conservative"?

Will the racist right and conservative agitators go after Huckabee again?

They've went after Huckabee after perennial loser Mitt Romney lost the 2008 Republican primaries. They may rehash the incident in Washington state where an Black ex-convict killed a White family of four. Huckabee commuted the felon's sentence.

First year of Barack Obama's second term and already we hear more talk about 2016.

This is your junk food media folks.

Damon Wayans, Jr. Returns To New Girl!

New Girl on Fox features Zoey Deschenel, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone. Actor/comedian Damon Wayans, Jr. returns to the show.

Before ABC canceled the hit comedy Happy Endings actor/comedian Damon Wayans, Jr. was a main star on that sitcom. When ABC decided to burn out the remaining episodes of Happy Endings, they've greenlighted Wayans for the role of Coach for the Fox sitcom New Girl.

Due to the obligations of Happy Endings, he couldn't finish the role. So they hired on Lamorne Morris to be Coach's friend who moves in. During the three seasons, we seen a young socially inept woman and her three male roommates go through the trials and tribulations of life.

Jessica "Jess" Day (Zooey Deschanel) is a bubbly young woman who teaches at a Los Angeles middle school. Jess begins looking for a new place to live after breaking up with her boyfriend. She answers an ad for a new roommate on Craigslist, and moves in with three young men: Nick, Schmidt, and Coach. After the pilot episode, Winston, who had previously lived in the apartment with Nick and Schmidt, replaces Coach. Cece, Jessica's childhood best friend and a fashion model, also appears in various episodes in the storyline.

The show would feature a blossoming relationship between Jess and Nick (Jake Johnson). It would also be a storyline between Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone).

With the return of Wayans, would we see the show spin into another direction?

So far, I've been watching the series for some time now. It's a critically acclaimed sitcom. New Girl is a main feature on Tuesday nights at 9pm on Fox. It's a mildly raunchy show and each episode is typical of a buddy sitcom.

Somewhere in this show there's moral in each episode.

Damon Wayans, Jr. is a stand-up comedian, most widely known for starring as Brad Williams in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings and recurring as Coach in the Fox comedy series New Girl. He is the oldest son of actor-comedian Damon Wayans and nephew of Keenan Ivory Wayans, Kim Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans.

Lord Infamous Passes Away!

Memphis is the home of the Oscar award winning rap group Three Six Mafia (aka Da  Mafia 6ix).

This year was great for the founding member Juicy J (Jordan Houston). The rapper was celebrating his successful mainstream album Stay Trippy. It's hailed as one of the best album in 2013. And with this joy comes a tragedy that hits real close.

The founding member of the Mafia, Lord Infamous (Ricky Dunigan) passes away over the weekend of an apparent heart attack.

He was 40 years old at the time of his death.

The Hollywood Reporter has further confirmed that the cause of death was a heart attack. "He said he was tired," his half-brother, Three 6 Mafia member DJ Paul said. "He wanted to sleep. He sat down at the kitchen table, put his head in his arms to lay down ... to get some sleep."

In 2006, they were the first rap group to win an Oscar for Best Original Song with "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp."

"He was a legend in the game, truly ahead of his time," DJ Paul (Paul Beauregard) said to Rolling Stone. "He was such a great lyricist and he always came with these different styles in his rap and his flow."

He was considered by fans and critics alike as being the darker member of the group, with his lyrics touching on occult subject matters such as satanism, mass murder, suicide, and torture.

Formed in 1991 as Backyard Posse then later Triple 6 Mafia, by DJ Paul, Lord Infamous, Juicy J and Koopsta Knicca, the group later included two more members including; Crunchy Black and Gangsta Boo (who were both added shortly before the release of their debut album Mystic Stylez).

The group has also collaborated with many rappers on their own label; Hypnotize Minds, where they have kick started the careers for many Memphis rappers, such as; Frayser Boy, Gangsta Blac, Lil Wyte and Indo G.

The group frequently collaborates with Project Pat (Juicy J's older brother).

Lord Infamous.
In 2006 following jail time which lead to a breach of contract with Sony, Lord Infamous was forced to end work with Three 6 Mafia. He is still on good terms with the group and was not kicked out of or left the group as many rumors had suggested.

In 2013, Infamous rejoined four of the original Three 6 Mafia members to form the group Da Mafia 6ix. They released their debut mixtape 6ix Commandments in late 2013 and are currently working on a studio album.

We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to the family of Lord Infamous.

4 Men Arrested In Mall Car Jacking Killing!

Dustin Friedland was murdered at a suburban New Jersey mall. The four men who done this senseless crime were caught. The racist right will make a fuss about it.

The racist right obsesses over Black on White crime. The individuals responsible for killing a man while he and his family were at suburban New Jersey mall were caught. Their mugs being shown to the press will certainly agitate the racist right.

The racist right will automatically assume that race contributed to the crime. Instead of the fact that the victim had a vehicle of opportunity, somehow, it's all about these so called anti-White individuals causing trouble.

Four men have been charged with murder, conspiracy and other counts in the death of a man shot in front of his wife outside an upscale mall in northern New Jersey last weekend, authorities said Saturday.

The suspects were identified as 29-year-old Hanif Thompson, of Irvington; 31-year-old Karif Ford, of Newark; 32-year-old Basim Henry, of Newark; and 33-year-old Kevin Roberts, of Newark.

They are accused in the Dec. 15 carjacking and killing of Dustin Friedland outside The Mall at Short Hills. The 30-year-old lawyer from Hoboken was shot in the head in the mall parking garage after being confronted by two carjackers, authorities said. The assailants drove off in his silver Range Rover, which was found the next morning in Newark, about 10 miles from Short Hills.

The four have been charged with murder, felony murder, carjacking, conspiracy, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. They were arrested between late Saturday and early Sunday. Three of them were taken into custody in New Jersey, and Henry was arrested in Easton, Pa.

The suspects are being held on $2 million bail each. It wasn't immediately clear if they had attorneys.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray attributes the swift arrest to "good old-fashioned police work" and leads from the public.

The carjacking occurred just as Friedland and his wife, Jamie Schare Friedland, were ending a shopping trip. Mourners at Friedland's funeral on Wednesday said he had just opened the door of his SUV for his wife when he was shot.

Friedland had a law degree from Syracuse University and was project manager at his family's heating and air conditioning and heating company.

More than $40,000 was offered for information leading to the arrest of the killers.

Woman Jokes About AIDS Catches Flack!

Keep It Classy!

Keep it real classy, woman.

This idiotic woman goes to Twitter to make a stereotypical jab at the continent of Africa.

Justine Sacco was the head corporate director of IAC, until she booted over the weekend for a tweet she sent out.

Being an executive for the Internet giant InterActive Corp., which owns popular websites like Match.com, Dictionary.com, and Vimeo, one would have thought that her actions were more responsible than this.

She got booted when a person discovered a tweet from her account on Friday that read: "Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just kidding. I'm white!"

Here are some of her other offensive tweets from earlier this year and last year. No harm, right?

justine05
justine08
Sacco is aware of the dangers of being a public figure in the new media age her company helped usher in.

Sacco issued a statement after the fiasco.

"Words cannot express how sorry I am, and how necessary it is for me to apologize to the people of South Africa, who I have offended due to a needless and careless tweet," Sacco said. "There is an AIDS crisis taking place in this country, that we read about in America, but do not live with or face on a continuous basis. Unfortunately, it is terribly easy to be cavalier about an epidemic that one has never witnessed firsthand.

"For being insensitive to this crisis -- which does not discriminate by race, gender or sexual orientation, but which terrifies us all uniformly -- and to the millions of people living with the virus, I am ashamed.

"This is my father's country, and I was born here. I cherish my ties to South Africa and my frequent visits, but I am in anguish knowing that my remarks have caused pain to so many people here; my family, friends and fellow South Africans. I am very sorry for the pain I caused."

A trending hashtag #HasJustineLandedYet and parody account @LOLJustineSacco quickly appeared on Twitter after Sacco sent the tweet. A fake Facebook account under her name was also created, where a post links to www.justinesacco.com, which brings up a donation page for Aid for Africa.

"There is no excuse for the hateful statements that have been made and we condemn them unequivocally," the InterActive Corp statement said. "We hope, however, that time and action, and the forgiving human spirit, will not result in the wholesale condemnation of an individual who we have otherwise known to be a decent person at core."
