New Girl on Fox features Zoey Deschenel, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone. Actor/comedian Damon Wayans, Jr. returns to the show. |
Before ABC canceled the hit comedy Happy Endings actor/comedian Damon Wayans, Jr. was a main star on that sitcom. When ABC decided to burn out the remaining episodes of Happy Endings, they've greenlighted Wayans for the role of Coach for the Fox sitcom New Girl.
Due to the obligations of Happy Endings, he couldn't finish the role. So they hired on Lamorne Morris to be Coach's friend who moves in. During the three seasons, we seen a young socially inept woman and her three male roommates go through the trials and tribulations of life.
Jessica "Jess" Day (Zooey Deschanel) is a bubbly young woman who teaches at a Los Angeles middle school. Jess begins looking for a new place to live after breaking up with her boyfriend. She answers an ad for a new roommate on Craigslist, and moves in with three young men: Nick, Schmidt, and Coach. After the pilot episode, Winston, who had previously lived in the apartment with Nick and Schmidt, replaces Coach. Cece, Jessica's childhood best friend and a fashion model, also appears in various episodes in the storyline.
The show would feature a blossoming relationship between Jess and Nick (Jake Johnson). It would also be a storyline between Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone).
With the return of Wayans, would we see the show spin into another direction?
So far, I've been watching the series for some time now. It's a critically acclaimed sitcom. New Girl is a main feature on Tuesday nights at 9pm on Fox. It's a mildly raunchy show and each episode is typical of a buddy sitcom.
Somewhere in this show there's moral in each episode.
Damon Wayans, Jr. is a stand-up comedian, most widely known for starring as Brad Williams in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings and recurring as Coach in the Fox comedy series New Girl. He is the oldest son of actor-comedian Damon Wayans and nephew of Keenan Ivory Wayans, Kim Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans.
