Again, former president Donald J. Trump said at the National Association of Black Journalists that he thought Vice President Kamala Harris "happened to turned Black."

This is the latest noise from MAGAland and it appears Miss Jackson was thinking nasty.

The Guardian caught up with Jackson as she is preparing for her Las Vegas residency.

Jackson claimed that she didn't believe Harris was Black. She only saw her as an Indian.

She said her father, Donald Harris, an semi-retired economic professor is white.

Harris identifies as Black and is the first woman, first African American and first Asian American to be the Vice President of the United States. She is the second woman and second Black person to be the nominee of a major presidential campaign.

If she wins, she will be the first woman, second African American, first Asian American and the latest incumbent vice president since George H.W. Bush to be president.

To think Harris had a crush on Tito Jackson. He died this month. Janet's father Joe and the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson have since passed away.

 

The remarks were published Saturday by The Guardian, granted access and interview time as Jackson promotes her latest tour's European stops. Jackson is also promoting a residency that starts in December at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Jackson's representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday evening.

Because Jackson sang of wanting to "break the color lines" on the 1989 single "Rhythm Nation," the interviewer said she was inspired to ask for Jackson's view of Harris as a Black woman who could be the first to serve as U.S. president.

“Well, you know what they supposedly said?" Jackson is quoted as saying during the interview in her adopted hometown of London. "She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian."

The author wrote that she responded with a correction, telling Jackson that Harris does have Indian heritage but is also Black.

“[Harris'] father’s white,” Jackson is quoted as saying. “That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

The vice president’s campaign did not immediately respond Saturday night to a request for comment on Jackson’s remarks.

In July, former President Donald Trump, who's running against Harris in a battle to succeed President Joe Biden, said the vice president "turned Black" for political gain after previously "only promoting Indian heritage."

“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black," Trump said at the National Association of Black Journalists 2024 Convention.

Kamala Harris is the first African American, first woman and first Asian American to be Vice President of the United States.

The same evening, Harris painted Trump's remarks on her background as part of a strategy to turn Americans against each other for his benefit.

"It was the same old show — the divisiveness and the disrespect," Harris said at an event in Houston. "And let me just say the American people deserve better."

Harris’ mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was born in southern India. Father Donald J. Harris, an economist and Stanford University professor emeritus, was born in Jamaica and is Black.

During the interview with The Guardian, Jackson also expressed a lack of hope regarding the presidential election.

"I think either way it goes is going to be mayhem," Jackson is quoted as saying.

The singer also touched on the topic of child sex trafficking while responding to a question about the "Rhythm Nation" album, which she said was about "making a difference in a kid’s life, a teenager’s life."

"There’s all this child trafficking crap that’s going on and sex trafficking crap, you know what I mean, that wasn’t so prevalent then?” she said, adding that sex trafficking is "really now out in the open, because it’s like a billion-dollar business and all that crap.”

The star survived an allegedly abusive father, Joe Jackson, who died in 2018. Brother Michael Jackson accused him of physical abuse, and sister LaToya once claimed he sexual abused her, though she later recanted.

Jackson is promoting tour dates, but she also may be embarking on a campaign to strengthen a legacy that may have been tarnished in the shadow of Michael's pop kingship and shunned after Justin Timberlake exposed her nipple during the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show in 2004, The Guardian reported.

As it stands, she has amassed 10 No. 1 hits, 5 Grammy Awards, and an Academy Award nomination for best original song.

Hamas has not killed any Americans. If you count the Israeli settler who was born in America but actually died by Israeli airstrikes and the regime blamed Hamas. The Israelis have alleged launched the Hannibal Directive, a controversial war strategy which says "sweep the floor." Basically, Israel said it's best to save the troops if they kill them all.

Hamas is a resistance to Israeli occupation and they are political organization that tried to work with the U.S. to end the genocide.

Donald Trump, Jr. allegedly cheated on Kimberly Guilfoyle with Bettina Anderson. Trump is the eldest son of the former president and a former CEO of the Trump Organization. He and brother Eric Trump are forbidden from operating a company in New York for two years. Eric's wife, Lara is the co-chair of the Republican National Committee. She may have wasted donor money for her fledgling singing career.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. did cheat on Cheryl Hines with Olivia Nuzzi. Nuzzi was engaged with an alleged sexual predator Ryan Lizza.

MAGA transformed Matt Gaetz into Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Mark Robinson allegedly visited adult stores, strip clubs, liken himself as a Black Nazi, got a hard on transgender adult movies, said that Blacks should be enslaved and is turned on by female teen athletes leaving a locker room.

Gaetz is once again at the center of a scandal following newly unsealed civil court documents that allege he attended a drug-fueled party in 2017 involving a 17 year-old girl. According to legal filings, multiple eyewitnesses corroborated the details, which placed Gaetz at the party hosted by his close ally, lobbyist Chris Dorworth.

The court documents include sealed affidavits from three women who testified that Gaetz was present at a party where illegal drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, were used and that sexual activities took place involving an underage girl, NOTUS reports. One of the witnesses, referred to as “K.M.,” described the party as involving a group of adults and the 17-year-old, identified only as “A.B.,” who was naked at the event. According to NOTUS, another witness, Gaetz’s former girlfriend, confirmed his attendance and geolocation data further substantiated the congressman’s presence that night.

The new filings come in the wake of a 2021 confession letter written by Joel Greenberg, a former Seminole County tax collector and close associate of Gaetz, which claimed that the two men had paid for sex with several women, including a minor. The letter, obtained by The Daily Beast, detailed how Greenberg had facilitated the payments for Gaetz and described multiple Venmo and Cash App transactions made to the underage girl, alongside other women. Greenberg is currently serving an 11-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to charges including sex trafficking.

In the messages, Greenberg admitted to arranging sexual encounters for Gaetz and referenced efforts to secure a pardon for both men in the final days of the Trump presidency.

The new revelations about Gaetz come just days after the congressman defended Trump’s false assertions abouttransgender youth from the spin room after the presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris in Philadelphia. In a post-debate interview with The Advocate on September 10, Gaetz backed Trump’s debunked claim that schools are performing gender-affirming surgeries on children—a baseless allegation that has been repeatedly dismissed by education and medical experts.

Gaetz sidestepped the factual inaccuracies when questioned about the falsehood, focusing instead on what he described as “parental rights.” “In places like California and Washington, if a parent doesn’t have the right gender-affirming approach to their own children, they’re at risk of losing parental rights,” Gaetz said, echoing the far-right talking points he and Trump have embraced. No evidence supports the notion that children are receiving gender-affirming surgeries in schools.

Gaetz is facing increasing pressure, both legally and politically. The House Ethics Committee is currently investigating Gaetz for his alleged involvement in paying women for sex. While Gaetz has avoided criminal charges so far, the Ethics Committee could censure or even expel him from Congress, depending on the findings.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has a high profile inmate in their custody. 

The Metropolitan Detention Center is tasked to make sure Sean "Puffy" Combs, known as Diddy can't alive himself.

Sources says that Combs is on suicide watch and the workers are tasked to keep him in full content as he awaits trial. Combs was held without a bond and he is likely to stay in federal time out due to the allegations of intimidation and threats to witnesses.

The 54-year-old is currently being held at Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, NY. The infamous facility has been described as “dangerous” and “horrifying,” and with a high number of inmate suicides and murders, it’s no shocker protective measures are in place for Combs.

The source described this suicide watch as “procedural with high profile clients."

Combs “remains strong and focused on his defense,” the source added.

A spokesperson for Combs said, "Mr. Combs is strong, healthy, and focused on his defense. He is committed to fighting this case and has full confidence in both his legal team and the truth."

Combs faces a three-count felony indictment, accusing him of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution in acts that date as far back as 2008.

Prosecutors accused the famed rapper of using his money and power to arrange for degrading, and at times physically abusive, sex acts called "freak offs."

These hours- and days-long sex acts were produced, directed and recorded by Combs who allegedly "threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires,” prosecutors said.

Federal agents claimed they seized more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and other lubricants from Combs’ homes that were used in these sex acts.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This false story about Harris being involved in a June 2011 hit-and-run incident that left a 13-year-old girl paralyzed was created by a Russian troll farm, according to a report released Tuesday by Microsoft.

The report by Microsoft's Threat Analysis Center said the fabricated story was created by a Kremlin-aligned group, dubbed Storm-1516, one of several Russian disinformation networks that Microsoft says is targeting the Harris-Walz campaign in the lead-up to November's presidential election.

The hit-and-run claim surfaced in early September on a website masquerading as a local San Francisco news outlet named KBSF-TV. A five-minute video embedded in the article featured a woman speaking about the alleged incident. Microsoft's report said the woman was a paid actor. The website was created on Aug. 20 and went offline days after it published the claims.

CBS News debunked the hit-and-run story when it first emerged; public records and news reports showed no evidence of the incident. The San Francisco Police Department told CBS News it did not have records of it. A CBS News analysis of a video that accompanied the article found it contained several photos from other unrelated news stories.

The story spread widely on social media; posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, that featured the article and video amassed more than 7 million views, and the story was also shared on Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Pro-Russian channels on Telegram, the popular messaging app European officials are investigating for alleged criminal activity on the platform, also amplified the claims.

Nuzzi, 31 is engaged to Ryan Lizza, POLITICO senior editor. Lizza has some questionable behaviors including affairs and sexual misconduct.

Nuzzi is in the freezer after it was revealed she got too cozy with a Kennedy.

She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this violation of our readers,” the statement continued.

Vice President Kamala sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a townhall and voter registration drive.

Dubbed "Unite for America 2024," the two will appear together on stage in front of a studio audience comprised of local voters. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is expected to attend as well. Other Harris supporters from around the country from groups like Mamas for Kamala, White Dudes for Harris, and Progressives for Harris, will appear virtually.

The two are expected to discuss the stakes in this year's election and the importance of voting.

Michigan is a very crucial state for Harris. President Joe Biden carried it as a 2020 Democratic nominee by 1.5 points. Former president Donald J. Trump carried it as the 2016 Republican nominee by 1 point.

Harris is facing a mutiny from Arab American and Muslim voters. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) will not endorse her for president but urges voters to not vote for Trump or Green Party presumptive nominee Jill Stein. Harris and her stance on Israel has been a stinging point for Democrats. 

She gonna need Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Dick Cheney, George Will, Stephanie Grisham, Michael Cohen, Alberto Gonzalez, Stormy Daniels, Charlie Dent, John Kasich, Cindy McCain, Anthony Scaramucci, Barbara Comstack, Ray LaHood, Chuck Hagel and other Republicans to carry her because clearly she lost points with progressives.

CNN released a heavily sourced article on Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of North Carolina, the Republican gubernatorial nominee. He is a Black MAGA and unapologetic anti-Black. 

The scandal involves Robinson's love for pornography (especially transgender), pizza, calling himself a nasty pervert and oh, he admits that he is a Black Nazi and hopes slavery can return to America.

Robinson is married to a Black woman and was previously a Democrat before he found Republicans like George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump.

Trump endorsed Robinson and once said he is Martin Luther King, Jr. 2.O.

Andrew Kaczynski wrote this explosive piece on Robinson. He has denied it so far.

The calls to drop out are growing but Robinson hasn't committed to dropping out.

Many of Robinson’s comments were gratuitously sexual and lewd in nature. They were made between 2008 and 2012 on “Nude Africa,” a pornographic website that includes a message board. The comments were made under the username minisoldr, a moniker Robinson used frequently online.

Robinson listed his full name on his profile for Nude Africa, as well as an email address he used on numerous websites across the internet for decades.

CNN is reporting only a small portion of Robinson’s comments on the website given their graphic nature.

Many of Robinson’s comments on Nude Africa stand in contrast to his public stances on issues such as abortion and transgender rights.

He went by the handle MiniSoldr. He used it around Pinterest, Blackplanet, X, Disqus and numerous others.

Publicly, Robinson has fiercely argued that people should use bathrooms only that correspond to the gender they were assigned at birth. He’s also said transgender women should be arrested for using women’s restrooms.

“If you’re a man on Friday night, and all the sudden Saturday, you feel like a woman, and you want to go in the women’s bathroom in the mall, you will be arrested, or whatever we gotta do to you,” Robinson said at a campaign rally in February 2024. “We’re going to protect our women.”

Yet privately under the username minisoldr on Nude Africa, Robinson graphically described his own sexual arousal as an adult from the memory of secretly “peeping” on women in public gym showers as a 14-year-old. Robinson recounted the story as a memory he said he still fantasized about.

“I came to a spot that was a dead end but had two big vent covers over it! It just so happened it overlooked the showers! I sat there for about an hour and watched as several girls came in and showered,” Robinson wrote on Nude Africa.

CNN is not publishing the graphic sexual details of Robinson’s story.

“I went peeping again the next morning,” Robinson wrote. “but after that I went back the ladder was locked! So those two times where [sic] the only times I got to do it! Ahhhhh memories!!!!”

In other comments on Nude Africa, Robinson discussed his affinity for transgender pornography.

“I like watching tranny on girl porn! That’s f*cking hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in!” Robinson wrote. “And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!”

In an interview with CNN on Thursday, Robinson repeatedly denied that he made the comments on Nude Africa.

“This is not us. These are not our words. And this is not anything that is characteristic of me,” Robinson said. Presented with the litany of evidence connecting him with the minisoldr user name on Nude Africa, Robinson said, “I’m not going to get into the minutia of how somebody manufactured this, these salacious tabloid lies.”

CNN first reached out to Robinson Tuesday morning with evidence connecting him to the comments on Nude Africa. It took his campaign two days to respond and issue a denial.

During his interview with CNN, Robinson repeatedly said the issues that faced North Carolinians were more important than what he called “tabloid trash,” and he steered the conversation toward attacking his opponent in the race, Democrat Josh Stein, the state’s attorney general.

Trump blessed this mess.

The remarks included expressing support for slavery, using various homophobic, racial, and antisemitic slurs, enjoying transgender pornography, that at the age of 14 he had peeped on women showering in public showers without their knowledge and continued to fantasize about it, self-identified as a "perv," and called himself a "Black Nazi," at one time stating that he would prefer Adolf Hitler over Barack Obama as United States president. Another remark labelled Martin Luther King, Jr. a "commie bastard" and then stated: "If I was in the KKK I would have called him Martin Lucifer Koon!" Robinson denied the allegations.

Politico published a story, on the same day as CNN, reporting that Robinson's email was registered on Ashley Madison, a website designed for married people seeking extramarital affairs.

Before the CNN and Politico stories broke, Robinson was reportedly pressured by staff and members of the Trump presidential campaign to withdraw from the gubernatorial race due to rumors of a controversial story leaking to the news that involved Robinson's alleged activity on pornographic websites in the 2000s. Jonathan Bridges, who managed the campaign of former congressman Mark Walker, and Scott Lassiter, a Republican candidate for state senate, both called on Robinson to suspend his campaign. Robinson announced he planned to stay in the race.

Guilfoyle, is said to be coming to terms with allegations that he’s been “fooling around” with another woman, a pretty blonde Palm Beach socialite named Bettina Anderson, as the Daily Mail has been reporting. Also potentially troubling for the former Fox News host and MAGA firebrand: This “dalliance” has become an  “open secret” in elite Republican circles in and around ritzy Palm Beach, the Daily Mail also said.

“Kimberly either didn’t know about Bettina — or didn’t want to know,” an insider told The Daily Mail. “Did she hear whispers that Don Jr. was fooling around with someone else? Probably.”

The insider added that Guilfoyle, a former San Francisco prosecutor and the ex-wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, is “no fool.” On the other hand, the insider told the Daily Mail: “It’s easy to deceive yourself when you’re so committed to someone and believe he’s committed to you.”

The Daily Mail first reported on Trump Jr.’s alleged romance with Anderson over the weekend, revealing that he had been seen “canoodling” and “kissing” her during an “intimate brunch” on Aug. 17. Donald Trump’s oldest son, 46, and the “glamorous it girl,” 37, rendezvoused at The Honor Bar, located inside Palm Beach’s “swanky” Royal Poinciana Plaza shopping center.

Guilfoyle, 55, was nowhere in sight, and the alleged romance between Trump Jr. and Anderson has become “the talk of Palm Beach,” the Daily Mail said.

Guilfoyle mutilated her face to please Trump, Jr. 

Her plastic and cosmetic surgery has turned her into one unattractive person.

The Daily Mail said that neither Guilfoyle nor Trump Jr. has publicly commented on the “canoodling” reports. But following the initial report, Guilfoyle posted Instagram Story images of herself, donning a “sexy purple dress” and blowing kisses to a camera, the Daily Mail said.

The Daily Mail, a pro Trump, pro Israel tabloid has decided to spot Donald Trump, Jr. having a date with a Bettina Anderson, a GOP/Israeli operative.

The Daily Mail backed up its report by publishing a photo of Trump Jr. and Anderson sitting together in a cozy booth at The Honor Bar, seemingly unaware they were being photographed. Three witnesses described how affectionate Trump Jr. and Anderson were, and how they seemed to be pretty familiar with each other and with this particular hide-away.

At one point, Anderson was seen planting “a sexy kiss” on Trump Jr.’s lips three times, the Daily Mail reported. “She seemed totally smitten with Don — and he with her,” one of the witnesses said. At another point, Anderson reached down below the table, put her hand on Trump Jr.’s thigh and rubbed it, a witness also said.

“They were definitely on a date,” another witness told the Daily Mail. “They weren’t exactly making out, but the kisses were romantic, and you could tell they were intimate with each other.”

A third person told the Daily Mail: “I guess they’re not trying to hide it. They’ve been seen together all over Palm Beach.”

At another point, Trump Jr. talked about what he wanted to order, with Anderson responding, “Oh, you’re getting that? You don’t usually get that.” The Daily Mail reported that the pair seemed to know the waiter, telling him that they were planning a trip to Islamorada, a resort destination in the Florida Keys.

On Wednesday, Anderson seemed to downplay the Daily Mail reports by posting a carousel of photos of herself on Instagram, dressed glamorously in high heels, short shorts and a white blouse, open to her waist. She captioned the images with the quote: “Gossip is the devil’s telephone. Best to just hang up.”

But if Trump Jr. is indeed stepping out on Guilfoyle, that raises questions about of the future of one of MAGA world’s favorite couples. Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle are major campaigners for Trump, who have been known in the past to allude to their playful sex life at donor events. The Miami Herald ran a story Wednesday asking if the couple are “done” and said things could get “awkward” as they are scheduled to co-host a Trump campaign event this coming weekend in Kentucky.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is done trying to ease tensions. The U.S. allowed Israel to commit terrorism and war crimes. 

The United States is losing patience with its longtime ally, the apartheid ethnostate of Israel. The latest comes after the rogue nation launched a series of terrorist attacks through electronic devices in Lebanon.

The regime claims they were out to destroy Hezbollah. But in reality, they committed a terrorist attack on innocent civilians and literally stroking global war.

The 2024 Lebanon pager explosions occurred on September 17, 2024 at around 3:30pm, when thousands of handheld pagers used by Hezbollah, a Lebanese political party and militia, simultaneously exploded across Lebanon and Syria. Israeli intelligence services had intercepted the deliveries of the pagers and had rigged them with explosive material, according to unnamed New York Times sources. At least 12 people were killed and over 2,750 wounded, including Hezbollah members and civilians. The incident was described as the organization's "biggest security breach yet". A second wave of explosions targeting ICOM walkie-talkies occurred the next day, leaving at least 20 people dead and over 450 injured. Other electronics such as fingerprint biometric devices were also reported to have exploded, but it is not yet confirmed if those devices caught fire from other explosions or detonated themselves. A Reuters security source said that hand-held radios were bought by Hezbollah five months prior to the attack, approximately at the same time as the pagers.

The United Nations is powerless to stop Israel. Even if they do something monumental, Israel will ignore it and proceed to go against international law. They run behind victimhood, the Holocaust and antisemitism to keep this chaos going.

Israel is no longer defending itself. It's time for countries to defend itself from Israel.

Sanctions and an arms embargo are being discussed. They are also working on trying to bypass the United States and Great Britain when it comes to the veto. The U.S. has abused the veto powers.

The UN has overwhelmedly passed a resolution calling for Israel to engage in permanent removal from Palestine. 

Reuters reports that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday decried the Saudi (Arabian) kingdom would not recognise Israel without a Palestinian state and strongly condemned the "crimes of the Israeli occupation" against the Palestinian people.

"The kingdom will not stop its tireless work towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and we affirm that the kingdom will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel without that," the crown prince, known as MbS, said.

After the eruption of war last October between Israel and the militant Palestinian group Hamas that rules Gaza, Saudi Arabia put on ice U.S.-backed plans for the kingdom to normalise ties with Israel, two sources familiar with Riyadh's thinking said earlier this year, in a swift reordering of its diplomatic priorities.

Bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's de facto ruler, had said just weeks before the fighting broke out that Riyadh was getting closer to a deal.

The two sources told Reuters there would be some delay in the U.S.-backed talks on normalisation of Saudi-Israel ties, which is seen as a key step for the kingdom to secure what it considers the real prize of a U.S. defence pact in exchange.

MbS made the remarks at an annual speech to the advisory Shura Council, which he gave on behalf of his father, King Salman.

The council swore an oath of office before bin Salman on Wednesday before he addressed it.

Witnesses reported seeing multiple individuals bleeding from their wounds in the aftermath of the blasts. In one instance, an explosion occurred inside the trouser pockets of a man standing outside a shop. Photos and videos circulating on social media and local media from Beirut's southern suburbs showed individuals lying on the ground with injuries on their hands or near their pockets. The son of Lebanese MP Ali Ammar, a member of Hezbollah, was killed; Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati visited southern Beirut to pay respects to him.

Around 150 hospitals across Lebanon received victims of the attack, which saw chaotic scenes. Hospitals in southern Lebanon, the Beqaa Valley, and Beirut's southern suburbs were overwhelmed with patients, many suffering from injuries to the face, hands and stomach. In response, Lebanon's Ministry of Health advised individuals with pagers to dispose of them and instructed hospitals to remain on "high alert". It also called on health workers to report to work and asked them not to use wireless devices. The Lebanese state-run National News Agency appealed for blood donations. Ambulance crews were deployed from the northern cities of Tripoli and Al-Qalamoun to help in Beirut.

The attack came just a day after the Biden administration's special envoy Amos Hochstein visited Israel and warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against provoking a major escalation in Lebanon.

Harris Goes To The NABJ Convention And No One Covers It!

Harris says she will work hard to "earn" the Black vote.

The vice president and Democratic nominee attended the NABJ convention and took questions from the presenters.

Harris on Tuesday decried Republican Donald Trump for inflammatory rhetoric about migrants in Springfield, Ohio, and on other topics, saying voters should make sure he “can’t have that microphone again.”

Sitting down for a rare extended campaign interview Tuesday with a trio of journalists from the National Association of Black Journalists, Harris said her heart breaks after threats of violence have disrupted the city following comments amplified by Trump and his running mate alleging, without evidence, that immigrants are kidnapping and consuming people’s pets.

Two days after Secret Service agents foiled an apparent assassination attempt on Trump, who blamed Democratic rhetoric for the latest threat to his life, Harris said that “there are far too many people in our country right now who are not feeling safe.” She referenced the threats to immigrants, but also the conservative Project 2025 blueprint for the next Republican administration and a GOP-led effort to restrict abortion access.

“Not everybody has Secret Service,” she said. “Members of the LGBTQ community don’t feel safe right now, immigrants or people with an immigrant background don’t feel safe right now. Women don’t feel safe right now.”

Harris said she personally has confidence in the Secret Service and feels safe under their protection. She spoke briefly with Trump on Tuesday to express her gratitude that he was safe, but in the interview said his rhetoric should be disqualifying.

“When you have that kind of microphone in front of you, you really ought to understand at a deep level that your words have meaning,” Harris said, without mentioning Trump by name. “Let’s turn the page and chart a new way forward and say you can’t have that microphone again.”

Harris said the Republican attacks on the city and migrants there were “lies that are grounded in tropes that are age old.”

The sedate interview in Philadelphia stood in contrast to former President Donald Trump ’s appearance before the same organization just a month ago, which turned contentious over matters of race and other issues.

The Trump interview opened a chapter in the campaign in which the Republican candidate repeatedly questioned Harris’ racial identity, baselessly claiming that she had only belatedly “turned Black” at some point in her professional career. Trump has since repeatedly questioned Harris’ racial identity on the campaign trail and during the September presidential debate.

Harris, the daughter of a Jamaican father and an Indian mother, has repeatedly dismissed Trump’s remarks as “the same old show.” During her September debate with Trump, she said it was a “tragedy” that he had “attempted to use race to divide the American people.”

The vice president insisted she is working to earn the vote of Black men and not taking any constituency for granted. Black male voters are traditionally one of the most consistently Democratic-leaning demographics in the nation. But Republicans have tried to make inroads, while Democrats worry about flagging enthusiasm at the polls.

Harris' support for Israel is a reason to why I am wary of her. I mean if she stops parroting Israeli propaganda and force an end to this special relationship, I may end up voting for her.

“I think it’s very important to not operate from the assumption that Black men are in anybody’s pocket,” Harris said. “Black men are like any other voting group. You gotta earn their vote, so I’m working to earn the vote, not assuming I’m gonna have it because I’m Black”

Harris declined to say if she supported reparations for descendants of slaves, but said, “we need to speak truth about the generational impact of our history in terms of the generational impact of slavery, the generational impact of red lining.” She said expressed openness to studying the question “to figure out exactly what we need to do,” but said her focus was on building economic opportunity.

In Trump’s interview with NABJ, he lambasted the moderators and drew boos and groans from the audience at times. The interview also sparked debate within the NABJ convention itself, which operates both as a networking and communal space for Black professionals in media as well as a newsmaking event.

Black separatists support reparations and demand Harris back it. They back Trump despite his racist attacks on Black people.

As with Trump’s appearance, the audience was made up of NABJ members and college students, but the tenor was markedly different. Where Trump called the reporters interviewing him “rude,” “nasty” and denounced their questions as “horrible,” Harris referred to the reporters who pressed her as “esteemed journalists.”

The crowd was inaudible throughout the Tuesday interview with Harris. In July, Trump’s comments were often met with laughter, shock and confusion from the room, which largely consisted of student journalists and media professionals outside political news.

Trump, his running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, and other Republicans have criticized Harris for largely avoiding media interviews or interacting on the record with reporters who cover her campaign events. She and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, gave a joint interview to CNN last month. Her campaign recently said she would be doing more local media, and last week she sat for her first solo television interview since becoming the Democratic nominee, taking questions from a Philadelphia station.

Asked whether Americans are better off today than four years ago when she and President Joe Biden entered office, Harris did not directly answer the question, instead referencing the state of the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic and bringing up her plans to try to lower housing costs and promoting herself as a “new generation” of leader.

Harris said her candidacy offers the country a chance at “turning the page on an era that sadly has shown us attempts to by some to incite fear to create division in our country.”

Janiyah Thomas, Black media director for the Trump campaign, said Harris’ remarks to the National Association of Black Journalists on Tuesday reveal her record of failures for Black Americans.

“She told the NABJ that after three and half years of her failed policies, grocery prices are too high and the American Dream is unattainable for young Americans,” Thomas said. “We can’t afford four more years of Kamala Harris. It’s time to put President Trump back in the White House and restore economic prosperity.”

Harris has largely sidestepped traditional media appearances and instead focused on rallies, grassroots organizing and social media engagement, where the vice president can sidestep questions from independent journalists about her policy record and proposed agenda.

Tuesday’s event was moderated by Eugene Daniels of Politico, Gerren Keith Gaynor of theGrio and Tonya Mosley of WHYY, a Philadelphia-area public radio station that co-hosted the gathering.

Asked whether she would change U.S. policy toward the Israel-Hamas war, Harris said she endorsed Biden’s pause on 2000-lb. bombs to Israel and didn’t signal any daylight with the president.

Harris noted the killing of Israeli civilians — and some Americans – by Hamas on Oct. 7 and added that far too many “innocent Palestinians have been killed” in Israel’s response.

She added that the Israel-Hamas war has to end and a ceasefire and hostage deal must get done, while calling for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict. She said the goal is to ensure “the Israelis have security and Palestinians in equal measure have security, have self-determination and dignity.”

NABJ noted the importance of hosting the conversation in Philadelphia, a major city in a battleground state with a large Black population. Philadelphia was also the home to one of the major precursor organizations to NABJ.

For years, the association has invited both major presidential candidates to speak before the convention. Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden all attended NABJ events as presidential candidates or while in office.

McConnell: We Ain't Shutting Down The Government!

Republicans in the Senate will not shut down the government.

The outgoing Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has shut down concerns the Republican members of the House will shut the government down. If they don't get their way, we could have a government shutdown in an election year.

McConnell warned that his party would be held responsible in the event that the government shuts down, suggesting Republicans could draw backlash from voters in November.

“My only observation about this whole discussion is the one thing you cannot have is a government shutdown,” he said. “It would be politically beyond stupid for us to do that right before the election, because certainly we’d get the blame.”

“I’m for whatever avoids a government shutdown and that’ll ultimately end up obviously being a discussion between the [Senate] Democratic leader and the speaker of the House,” McConnell continued.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) urged Johnson to drop his plan for a vote on the two measures this week, despite the Louisiana Republican’s claims that he is not prepared to discuss any alternatives to keep the government open past Sept. 30, when the fiscal year ends.

Republicans are trying to insert riders into a normal fiscal budget bill.

They want funding for the border, and voter restrictions added to the bill.

President Joe Biden and the Democratic controlled Senate will not support it.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) originally tried to hold a vote on the six-month continuing resolution paired with the SAVE Act, which includes a provision requiring people to present proof of citizenship to register to vote, last week but was forced to postpone it due to bipartisan opposition.

Biden and Harris are warning Johnson that a government shutdown will affect Americans.

Given Republicans’ slim majority in the House, Johnson could only afford to lose a handful of GOP votes without having to rely on Democrats for the package’s passage. At least one Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) has so far signaled he would support it. 

Many hard-line Republicans have opposed the funding bill on the grounds that it doesn’t go far enough in terms of federal spending cuts.

They are willing to give Israel billions and constantly demand austerity for the working class and lower class. 

In July 2024, the United States House of Representatives passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, H.R. 8281, which would mandate that Americans show proof of citizenship when registering to vote. The documents required to get registered to vote would have to meet the guidelines as the documents needed to get a Real ID, but also indicate US citizenship. Usually, a driver license does not indicate citizenship, with notable exceptions in some states near the Canadian border. The Act would not take steps to allow for social security numbers to be used, and could create issues if the birth certificate or other document does not match the name due to marriage or divorce. The bill also threatens election workers with jail time if they register a noncitizen.

According to The Guardian, "The bill could lead to people who are able to vote, such as naturalized citizens, college students and tribal voters, being removed from voter rolls." Sean Morales-Doyle of the Brennan Center for Justice argued the bill is designed to call into question the legitimacy of the 2024 election so that it would be easier to overturn if  former president Donald J. Trump lost. Philip Bump argued the proposal is based on falsehoods about voter fraud and immigrants, and provides justification for partisan voter suppression. 

Biden has promised to veto it. The League of Women Voters also opposes the bill. It is considered unlikely to become law due to Democratic opposition.
