Vote!

Vote.

Ignore the noise.

Vote to save democracy.

So I am not watching any of the news coverage of the Midterms. I don't want my stress level to go up. All I am going to tell you is that this is a pivotal election and it is best to consider the options.

By voting Republican:

1. You are embracing a party that embraces fascism.
2. You are embracing a party that embraces mean-spirited behavior.
3. You are embracing a party that embraces conspiracy theories.
4. You are embracing a party that embraces political violence.
5. You are embracing a party that embraces election denialism.
6. You are embracing a party that supports voter intimidation.
7. You are embracing a party that has no economic agenda.
8. You are embracing a party that refuses to hold those accountable for Jan. 6.
9. You are embracing a party that will impeach Joe Biden for no valid reason.
10. You are embracing a party that support racism.
11. You are embracing a party that will outlaw abortion.
12. You are embracing a party that will ban books and video games.
13. You are embracing a party that will turn back marriage equality.
14. You are embracing a party that will be forever stuck on stupid.
15. You are embracing a party that is willing to destroy democracy.
16. You are embracing a party that supports gun violence.
17. You are embracing a party that supports tax breaks for the rich.
18. You are embracing a party that lies like Donald J. Trump.

The "Commitment to America" includes four broad pillars focusing on the economy, safety, individual freedom and government accountability. Big on ideas ("expand U.S. manufacturing") but short on policy specifics, the agenda is in keeping with tradition established in 1994 with Karen Gingrich's "Contract with America," where the minority party releases their agenda priorities ahead of Election Day.

Under Republicans, the coronavirus pandemic led to over a million American deaths.

Under Trump, many Republicans now believe elections are rigged against them.

Since the last nationwide election two years ago, the former president and his allies have succeeded in sowing wide distrust about voting by promoting false claims of widespread fraud. The effort has eroded public confidence in elections and democracy, led to restrictions on mail voting and new ID requirements in some GOP-led states and prompted death threats against election officials.

Election Day this year is marked by concerns about further harassment and the potential for disruptions at polling places and at election offices where ballots will be tallied. Election officials say they are prepared to handle any issues that arise, urging voters not to be deterred.

“This bipartisan, transparent process administered by election professionals across the country will be secure, it will be accurate and it will have integrity,” said Matt Masterson, a former top election security official in the Trump administration, at a briefing organized by The Aspen Institute. “The best response for all of us is to get out and participate in it.”

Even before the pandemic, many states had begun to shift away from a single day of voting to offer days or weeks of early, in-person voting and ballots sent through the mail.

No major problems were reported during the early voting period. But on Monday, some of Pennsylvania’s largest counties scrambled to help voters fix mail-in ballots that had flaws such as incorrect dates or missing signatures on the envelopes used to send them in, bringing about confusion and legal challenges in the battleground state.

Heading into Tuesday, nearly 44.5 million people across the country had already cast ballots.

Party affiliation seems to be an increasing factor in how and when people vote. Republican skepticism of mail voting has persisted amid the attacks by Trump and his allies. Some Republican activists and candidates have gone so far as to encourage voters who receive a mailed ballot to wait until the very last minute to turn it in, claiming it will somehow prevent Democrats from stealing the election.

There is no evidence of widespread fraud or manipulation of voting machines in 2020. Exhaustive reviews in states contested by Trump all affirmed Biden’s win, while dozens of judges, including ones appointed by Trump, dismissed numerous cases making unsubstantiated claims of wrongdoing.

Election officials have defended the system. They note the many checks in place to ensure only one vote per person is counted, the reviews that ensure machines accurately count ballots and the efforts to identify any fraud attempts.

“State and local election officials have contingency plans in place so voters can have confidence in our elections,” state election officials said in a statement issued by the National Association of Secretaries of State and the National Association of State Election Directors.

But the false claims have spread widely among Republicans, fueled by conspiracy theorists on social media and at events held across the country. An Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research survey from October found 45% of Republicans had little to no confidence that votes in the midterm elections will be counted accurately. And a majority of Republicans, 58%, still believe President Joe Biden was not legitimately elected — though it’s down slightly from 66% in July 2021.

Election officials acknowledge electronic voting systems can be vulnerable and have taken numerous steps to increase security since the 2016 election, when it was determined that Russia looked for vulnerabilities. Congress has sent nearly $900 million to states to boost their cybersecurity defenses, including hiring more IT staffers, replacing outdated systems and adding regular security testing.

Most voters also cast hand-marked paper ballots or use machines that produce a paper record of their votes. These are used after the election to check that machines used to count ballots work properly.

Ahead of the election, Republican and conservative groups recruited people to serve as poll watchers and to get hired as local poll workers. Fueled by the lies about the 2020 election, some people even stationed themselves near ballot drop boxes in Arizona while toting guns, wearing body armor and concealing their faces with masks. Just last week, a judge ordered such groups to keep at least 250 feet away.

Since the 2020 election, false claims have led to a wave of harassment and death threats targeting election officials and staff. That has prompted some to leave the profession altogether, a loss of experience that has added to the challenges of conducting a smooth election this year.

Election officials have promised they will not hesitate to contact law enforcement to protect voters and poll workers. A coalition of voting rights groups has volunteers available to assist any voters who run into problems on Election Day, staffing the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline.

Once polls close, results will start being released. Different rules and ballot deadlines will mean some states will be faster to report than others. Election officials in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan are not able to start processing mailed ballots until Election Day or a few days before, making extra work for local offices that could delay results. Other states, including Florida and Georgia, give local election offices weeks to get mailed ballots ready for counting, speeding the tallies.

“Results, as always, will take a while because Election Day is not results day,” said Sylvia Albert, director of voting for the nonpartisan voter advocacy group, Common Cause.

Duck The Stelzer!

He missed it.

Vote.

Ignore the noise.

Vote to save democracy.

Vote for Beto O'Rourke over the fascist.

Again, I don't condone political violence.

Sen. Karen Cruz (R-TX) was hit with a beer can while waving at the Houston Astros parade. The American League champions are the World Series Champions* after defeating the Philadelphia Phillies. The senator was not seriously injured.

Cruz was a participant during the event and on board the back of a Humvee when the can was thrown.

He was roundly booed but someone decided to try to harm the controversial senator.

The Houston Police Department confirmed an arrest in connection with what it's calling an assault.

"HPD made one arrest during today's victory parade. A male, 33, threw a beer can at U.S. Senator ____________ as the Senator was on a float in the 2400 block of Smith St. The beer can struck the Senator in the chest/neck area. The Senator did not require medical attention," HPD tweeted. "Nearby HPD officers arrested the male without further incident. He was taken to jail and faces assault charges."

While police haven't released the suspect's name as of late Monday night, court documents obtained by ABC13 identify Joseph Halm Arcidiacono as the person charged with the felony count.

Cruz tweeted his appreciation for law enforcement while also deriding the person who threw what the senator confirmed to be a hard seltzer.

"As always I'm thankful for the Houston Police and Capitol Police for their quick action. I'm also thankful that the clown who threw his White Claw had a noodle for an arm," Cruz tweeted on Monday afternoon.

Unlike Jeremy Peña and his Astros teammates, Cruz was a lightning rod of boos at certain points of the parade. He wasn't the only lawmaker taking part.

U.S. Reps. Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) and Lizzie Fletcher (D-TX) were on the Humvee with the senator. Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick was in a vehicle ahead, and U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) was in the vehicle behind Cruz's.

What Does Stupid Do?

Hello.

Again, watching wildlife from a distance is safer than going near.

Can we do a Darwin Award for the most stupidest people on the planet?

You can't fix stupid!

You can't change minds!

You are completely trapped in stupid.

You are wrapped and emboldened in stupid.

Again, why do white people always treat wild animals like they're domesticated?

I would never touch a wild animal.

The National Park Service issued a warning to visitors of their parks to not lick or touch a very poisonous amphibian. The Sonoma Desert toad is a highly poisonous animal some folks are willing to lick.

The toad is found in northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. It is notable for exuding toxins from glands within its skin that have psychoactive properties.

The toad's primary defense system is glands that produce a poison that may be potent enough to kill a grown dog. These parotoid glands also produce the 5-MeO-DMT and bufotenin (which is named after the Bufo genus of toads); both of these chemicals belong to the family of hallucinogenic tryptamines.

When vaporized, a single deep inhalation of the poison produces strong psychoactive effects within 15 seconds. After inhalation, the user usually experiences a warm sensation, euphoria, and strong visual and auditory hallucinations, due to 5-MeO-DMT's high affinity for the 5-HT2 and 5-HT1A serotonin receptor subtypes.

Bufotenin is a chemical constituent in the secretions and eggs of several species of toads belonging to the genus Bufo, but the Colorado River toad (Incillius alvarius) is the only toad species in which bufotenin is present in large enough quantities for a psychoactive effect. Extracts of toad secretion, containing bufotenin and other bioactive compounds, have been used in some traditional medicines such as ch’an su (probably derived from Bufo gargarizans), which has been used medicinally for centuries in China, as a herbal remedy often illegally imported to the USA that can be prepared as a tea.

The toad was "recurrently depicted in Mesoamerican art", which some authors have interpreted as indicating that the effects of ingesting Bufo secretions have been known in Mesoamerica for many years; however, others doubt that this art provides sufficient "ethnohistorical evidence" to support the claim.

Only an idiot would lick a poisonous animal.

In addition to bufotenin, Bufo secretions also contain digoxin-like cardiac glycosides, and ingestion of the poison can be fatal. Ingestion of Bufo toad toxins and eggs by humans has resulted in several reported cases of poisoning, some of which resulted in death. The first reported death associated with the ingestion of ch'an su was that of a young woman who consumed it as a prescribed (by a Chinese herbalist) Chinese herbal remedy mixed into a tea (an approximately 100ml bowl). Immediately upon ingesting the ch'an tea, the woman experienced vomiting, difficulty breathing, and gastric tenderness, which spurred her husband to take her to the emergency room, where she died two and a half hours after drinking the tea.

Contemporary reports indicate that bufotenin-containing toad toxins have been used as a street drug; that is, as a supposed aphrodisiac, ingested orally in the form of ch’an su, and as a psychedelic, by smoking or orally ingesting Bufo toad secretion or dried Bufo skins. The use of chan'su and love stone (a related toad toxin preparation used as an aphrodisiac in the West Indies) has resulted in several cases of poisoning and at least one death. The practice of orally ingesting toad secretions has been referred to in popular culture and in the scientific literature as "toad licking" and has drawn media attention. Albert Most published a booklet titled Bufo alvarius: The Psychedelic Toad of the Sonoran Desert in 1983 which explained how to extract and smoke the secretions.

Among the notable people who have spoken publicly about their experiences with the psychoactive agents in the poison are boxer Mike Tyson, comedian Chelsea Handler, podcaster Joe Rogan, television personality Christina Haack, and motivational speaker Anthony Robbins.

It's the unfortunate cause and effect of animals and people.

I've said it before and I stand by what I say: "Wild animals are......well you know!"

If you want to be a thrill seeker, you might want to get life insurance.

Twitter Runs With Rotten Musk Smells!

The far right who complained about free speech are happy Twitter took away Kathy Griffin's free speech.

Vote.

Ignore the noise.

Vote to save democracy.

Elon Musk will go down in history as the grifter he was born to be.

Conservatives are cheering the permanent suspension of comedian Kathy Griffin after she changed her profile handle to Elon Musk. She and many users are protesting Musk for ruining Twitter.

He got mad and personally told staff to terminate accounts who mocked him.

He purchased the company for $44 billion and finally closed the deal.

Upon closing the deal, he immediately tweeted the "bird is free."

He fired the CEO, chief operations operator, content manager and fact checking staff.

Then he decided to tweet a response to Hillary Clinton in regards to Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) husband being severely attacked by an extremist. The billionaire tweeted a conspiracy theory and the far right praised him for that. He would soon remove the tweet.

He sent an email to the 4,600 workers that they could lose their jobs. He ended up firing over 50% of the staff. Most of the workers were caught off guard and we not expecting a swift termination. It appears he will face a class action lawsuit for the unexpected termination. He has called for 20% of Twitter staff to return.

He claims to be a "free speech absolutist."

Kathy Griffin with former Washington DC officer Michael Fanone.

Free speech for extremism and bullshit. Permanent bans for celebrities who dare question the guy who advocates the noise.

Now he is returning to public feuds and personal grudges.

Advertisers have left and Musk said he blames the activists. Now he has announced he suspended accounts including the one troll who personally followed his airline travels.

He is constantly tweeting and not being on point with his remarks.

It is a hot mess.

Racism, misinformation and bots have increased on Twitter.

Musk's stock in Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter are taking a huge nosedive.

All of this from his boastful remarks about Twitter being better under his rules.

Hurricane G Passed Away!

Hurricane G passed away from lung cancer.

Rapper Hurricane G has passed away at the age of 52. No official release of her cause of death but her daughter revealed that she had stage IV cancer.

Many are pouring out grievances to the rapper who was No. 1.

She was born Gloria Rodriguez. She leaves behind a daughter, Lexus whom she had with rapper/producer Erick Sermon, a member of EPMD.

“My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends… my oldest daughters mother passed away today,” wrote EPMD’s Erick Sermon on Instagram, describing her as “a legend in her own right in the Hiphop community.”

Hurricane G rose to fame in the mid-1990s after appearing on Redman’s 1992 hit “Tonight’s da Night.” She followed with another Redman song, “Dare Iz a Darkside,” in 1994 while collaborating with Xzibit on the track “At the Speed of Life” before releasing her debut album, All Woman, in 1997. The artist, who was of Puerto Rican descent, rapped in both English and Spanish.

“She paved the way,” Sermon wrote. “She was in all the Hiphop magazines with all the top females at the time. She will be missed all around the world. I can’t believe this. Pray for us. Beautiful blessings. She was a beautiful person a wonderful mother as real as they come.”

Rodríguez was born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1970. She was the Hit Squad's first female member, and made guest appearances on albums. She also appeared on Puff Daddy's track "P.E. 2000".

On Facebook on Sunday night, the producer of Hurricane G’s debut album paid tribute to the “really funny person.”

“I have so many crazy stories from working with Hurricane G on her album All Woman,” Domingo Padilla wrote.

“We recorded that album in my apartment in Ozone Park Queens on a Tascam 388 and I took the whole reel machine to 78/88 studios and dumped the music to 2 inch reels…

“Gloria was a really kind hearted, funny person but when she was mad stay out her way… LOL. I saw her make a famous radio personality cry in a studio and when I drove Gloria home we argued about why she did that and she kept it real with me she said ‘Domingo that bi**h don’t fool me she is a 2 face.’”

Padilla said he was “gonna miss speaking to her on the phone and hear her say ‘Domingo you got that funky ass fire for me or what motherfucker.’”

Hurricane G’s death came almost immediately after unconfirmed reports that another hip-hop artist, “Jersey legend” rapper Tame One of Artifacts fame, also passed away.

Tame, who is a cousin of Redman, also found fame in the 1990s but struggled to secure commercial success.

Gabbard Backs Herschel Walker!

Gabbard stumps for the fascists.

Vote.

Ignore the noise.

Vote to save democracy.

Make Karen Gabbard, Herschel Walker and Karen Kemp irrelevant.

Vote for Stacey Abrams, Raphael Warnock and Democrats.

This woman was once the co-chair of the Democratic National Committee. Thank Bernie Sanders for giving this far right infiltrator the unwanted attention.

Former Hawai'ian lawmaker and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Karen Gabbard backs the former Texan turned Georgian Herschel Walker.

Walker, plagued with internal issues is still close to rival, incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and some fear this may lead to a runoff is the two can't make it to 50.1%.

Still a moron.

Gabbard announced that she is leaving the Democratic Party. She is now a contributor and guest host on Fox programming.

Former 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton had said that this bitch was nothing but trouble. She believes that Sanders and Gabbard were "Russian assets."

Gabbard fired back by calling Clinton “the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party.” In Gabbard’s telling, her party’s 2016 nominee was behind “a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation ... through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine.”

It is proven that Gabbard and Sanders were amplified by Russia. The two were noise then and noise now.

Washed Up 45 Maybe Sabotaging DeSantis!

The clowns are throwing pies at on another.

Vote.

Ignore the noise.

Vote to save democracy.

Vote for Charlie Crist over the fascist.

The former president warned Florida governor not to come for the crown. And both Republicans are vying for 2024. I would love to see them destroy one another with their hateful rhetoric.

Washed Up 45 may signal his supporters to not support Karen DeSantis, the controversial governor of Florida in his reelection and possible presidential run.

At a rally in Latrobe, PA on Saturday night, the former president boasted about a recent survey of Republican primary voters showing him well ahead in the 2024 GOP primary among potential candidates. While crowing about getting 71 percent in the poll, Washed Up 45 fired a shot across the bow at the second place candidate “Ron DeSanctimonious.”

The former president along with his goober Stone are working on sabotaging him if he jumps into the race for 2024.

DeSantis’s immense popularity in Florida and among Republicans nationally, Washed Up 45’s attack did not go over well on the far right — particularly among those Republicans who believe the party should be showing a united front, with tens of millions of voters about to hit the polls.

J. Prince: You Ain't Got Protection!

J. Prince reacts to Takeoff killing.

Rap-a-Lot CEO has warned Takeoff's killers that there's no where to run and no where to hide. He said he ain't watching any motherfucker's backs. Takeoff's real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball and he was 28 years old.

The rapper was doing a private event for his sons when the shooting happened.

On Nov. 1, Takeoff was gunned down after a dice game at a Houston bowling alley. The Harris County Sheriff and Houston Police want the terrorist to turn himself in.

The terrorist is facing first degree murder charges. The possibility of LIFE or DEATH is on the docket for this terrorist.

Many fans are shook by the death.

Takeoff was a member of the Migos. He and Quavo had just released their collaborative album last month and had been touring. We haven't heard much from Quavo and Offset.

The Migos.

J. Prince, the rap legend told the junk food media, the terrorist will be caught one way or another. His two sons held the event where all this happened.

Jas and J. Prince, Jr. may have been involved in Takeoff's murder. Twitter users signal an individual who appeared in video. They claim J. Prince, Jr. and Quavo got into a shouting match and soon the terrorist literally shot Takeoff at point blank range. Then as Quavo and Takoff's bodyguard tried to react to the terrorist by shooting, the individual apparently used Takeoff as a shield.

J. Prince, Jr. walked over Takeoff's lifeless body.

Their father said this nonsense has to stop.
J. Prince wrote on Instagram, “The Prince family would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of a beautiful soul @yrntakeoff. To Houstonians and families around the world, this one breaks my heart because Takeoff was a brother, a son, a role model, and a God loving human being.”

Atlanta gang members warned J. Prince Jr. to stay away.

He continued, “Grief is the price of love; a bill people from across the globe are paying right now as we mourn this loss. I’ve been knowing Takeoff, Quavo and Offset for many years and there has been nothing but mutual love for one another and that ain’t going to ever change where we are concerned. This shouldn’t have happened. This shouldnt have ever happened in our city. This shouldn’t have been recorded, and this damn sure shouldn’t be circulating across social media for family, friends and fans to see.”

He also added, “I consider myself a man that’s quick to listen and slow to speak, therefore to whomever is responsible for putting that bullet in my little nephews head, let it be known that you can’t hide behind me, beside me or anywhere near me because I don’t tolerate dumb shit. I speak these words not knowing whos bullet is responsible for his death. With that being said, the root of this tragedy is foolish and has to be owned by the fool…. I will sum this up by saying a gun in the hands of any human that close his eyes to shoot and doesn’t have the proper skills of operating that gun is dangerous and the results usually end with innocent people who had nothing to do with the altercation being shot or killed.”

Takeoff was found dead at the scene, CNN reported. A man, 23, and woman, 24, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries in the shooting.

Pop singer, rapper, internet troll and boxer Aaron Carter passed away. The troubled entertainer had openly admitted he had issues with mental health and drugs. We cannot confirm anything in relation to that. He was 34.

He was the brother of Nick Carter, one of the members of the Backstreet Boys.

“I have no comment at this time, a statement will be released shortly by the family and management. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time,” manager Taylor Helgeson said in a statement.

TMZ reported that Carter was found dead at his home in Lancaster, reportedly after drowning in his bathtub.

Though Carter was not identified, officials responded to a drowning just before 11 a.m. in the 42000 block of Valley Vista Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Carter rose to fame as a child star, first as a singer (and the younger brother of the Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter) and later as an actor in film and television shows like “Lizzie McGuire” and “7th Heaven.”

He opened for the Backstreet Boys on a 1997 tour, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and he did the same for Britney Spears, according to The Associated Press.

Carter had a troubled life after he obtained pop fame. He was a teen idol in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Carter with his son Prince.

The teenage heartthrob had several high-profile romances, including with fellow child stars Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff. In 2019, he publicly came out as bisexual, although he admitted he had only dated women.

Carter notably battled addiction for many years, facing legal troubles and entering rehabilitation while continuing with his music career, according to E!.

In September, he entered rehab for the fifth time so he could regain custody of his infant son, Prince, according to the Los Angeles Times.

He also publicly feuded with many, including his brother Nick, whom he accused of trying to put him under a conservatorship.

In 2019, he revealed on “The Doctors” that he was diagnosed with “multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and manic depression,” according to CNN.

Aaron was a twin. His sister Angel is a model.

Sister Leslie Carter who was a singer died in 2012 from a drug overdose.

Carter leaves behind a son and a fiance.

Damn This Dude!

With allies like these, who needs enemies?

Vote.

Ignore the noise.

Vote to save democracy.

President Joe Biden's headaches:

  1. The Karens in the Republican House and Senate.
  2. Gun violence and Congress not doing anything to stop it.
  3. Inflation.
  4. Two Democratic senators and one independent senator who is a democratic socialist.
  5. The members of The Squad and Progressive Caucus.
  6. The junk food media and their never ending dramatizing of world events.
  7. Anti-Vaxxers.
  8. Lawmakers and activists who protest the CDC guidelines during the pandemic.
  9. The endless culture wars that Republicans find outrage in.
  10. Washed Up 45 and his minions on Fox, Newsmax, OANN and the internet.
  11. Facebook and TikTok and the idiots who run it and the idiots who post on it.
  12. Fox, The Daily Mail, Newsmax and OANN's relentless talk about conspiracies, Hunter Biden, Ashley Biden and the president's mental capacity and health.
  13. The endless racism towards Biden's allies Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Barack Obama.
  14. The relentless talk about spending despite the former president's reckless things.
  15. The lack of civility towards fellow Americans.

Vote to make Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, Bernie Sanders and the noise of the far left irrelevant. Vote to stop the far right fascists from winning the majority. Republicans offer nothing but unprecedented noise and deflections from reality.

It is time to stop being on the defensive. The Democrats need to stop being the party of facts and become the party of unprecedented noise. Maybe the Dems should become more invested in marketing disinformation like the Republicans.

The Republicans are easily manipulated by misinformation.

Call out the racism and extremism within the Republican Party.

If the Democrats hold the Senate, strip Manchin and Sinema of their committees.

Strip Sanders of his committee.

Sanders is not a Democrat. He is an independent who is a democratic socialist. His policies are not lockstep with the centrists who make up 51% of the Democratic Party

Manchin and Sinema are fucking up the game. For two years, they literally delayed or stalled the Biden agenda. Now one or both of them are clapping their fucking mouths days before the Midterms.

Coal.

Opioid addiction and poverty at record highs.

Education is seriously lacking.

A dying populate state.

Democrat in a state with 80% of the vote going Washed Up 45.

Refusal to accept that coal is the cause of global warming and leading to deadly cancers.

That's Manchin for you.

A millionaire who has ties to the natural gas and coal industry. He is a lobbyist's best friend. He and Sinema are whispering in Tim Ryan, John Fetterman and Mark Kelly's ear.

They are telling them to stay away from Biden.

Fetterman is not listening.

Manchin got livid over Biden saying that the U.S. will phase out coal. On Saturday, the senator slammed President Joe Biden after he called for coal plants across the US to be shuttered, saying Biden’s remarks are “outrageous and divorced from reality” and suggesting it’s “time he learn a lesson.”

Biden, while speaking at a stop in Carlsbad, California, on Friday about the CHIPS and Science Act, said, “We’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar also providing tax credit to help families buy energy-efficient appliances.”

Manchin, a West Virginia Democrat who has longtime ties to the coal industry, seized on the comments in a statement on Saturday, calling them “not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs.”

“Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believes he does not understand the need to have an all in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure. It seems his positions change depending on the audience and the politics of the day. Politicizing our nation’s energy policies would only bring higher prices and more pain for the American people,” Manchin continued.

It’s not unusual for Manchin, a moderate Democrat who has refused to say whether he thinks Biden deserves a second term in office, to criticize Biden’s agenda, and his reluctance at times to support Democratic initiatives has prevented the President from achieving some legislative goals. But Saturday’s statement is an extraordinary rebuke by a sitting US senator of his party’s leader, and serves to illustrate the ongoing tension between the centrist and more progressive wings of the Democratic Party.

Manchin, a senator from a deep-red state who is up for reelection in 2024, further sought to distance himself from Biden in his statement when he said, “Let me be clear, this is something the President has never said to me.”

“Being cavalier about the loss of coal jobs for men and women in West Virginia and across the country who literally put their lives on the line to help build and power this country is offensive and disgusting. The President owes these incredible workers an immediate and public apology and it is time he learn a lesson that his words matter and have consequences,” Manchin concluded.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded in a statement Saturday saying Biden’s words have been “twisted.”

“The President’s remarks yesterday have been twisted to suggest a meaning that was not intended; he regrets it if anyone hearing these remarks took offense. The President was commenting on a fact of economics and technology: as it has been from its earliest days as an energy superpower, America is once again in the midst of an energy transition,” Jean-Pierre said.

Jean-Pierre’s statement only mentioned Manchin directly once, saying he is a “tireless advocate for his state and the hard-working men and women who live there.”

Oregon Mayor Shooting Rage!

A town mayor faces criminal attempted murder charges.

Vote.

Ignore the noise.

Vote to democracy and end the noise.

According to the far right: White shooters are mentally ill.... Black shooters are unrepentant criminals.

Republican solutions are more guns, blame others for America's social ills and defect from accepting reality.

Mayor of a small Oregon town is facing attempted murder charges after he chased and shot at a family on a rural highway in Hood River County.

A family of four was traveling south on Highway 281 near Parkdale at 8:43 p.m. Monday, "following behind an SUV that was driving erratically," the Hood River County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

When the SUV pulled over, the family "slowed to get a description of the suspect vehicle" before a "male subject stepped out of the passenger side and fired multiple rounds from a handgun at the passing" car, the sheriff said.

The suspect was later identified as Dowen Jones, 47, the mayor Rufus, a city with fewer that 270 residents about 100 miles east of downtown Portland, the sheriff said.

No one in the family car, two adults and two children 5 and 8 years old, was wounded.

Jones was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and four counts of attempted assault. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and made a brief court appearance Wednesday.

Jones did not immediately qualify for a public defender and will have to hire an attorney before his next court appearance, set for Nov. 10, officials said.

Rufus City Administrator Brenda Coleman declined to comment Wednesday afternoon, and no one picked up at a publicly listed phone number for Jones.

Jones, an electrician in his 9-to-5 life, won election in 2018, collecting 76 votes, far ahead of candidates who got four write-in votes.

City Council President Scott Holliday said his fellow lawmakers have yet to meet to discuss what action could or should be taken against Jones.

This asshole shot at a family in a road rage incident.

The allegations are totally out of character for the well-liked mayor, Holliday said.

"It's terrible. He's a good man. It's crazy," he said Wednesday afternoon.

"Nobody understands what exactly happened, much less why. People think the world of him. He's just a good guy. So it's very, very grieving for something like this [to happen]. Nobody wants to see somebody that they like, that they know and that they like a lot, in trouble."

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence, monkeypox and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how gun reform is taking away your rights to own firearms.

I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth.

When you hear folks say "gun rights," what they really mean is that its white privilege. This good guy with a gun nonsense has to end. The cops didn't do nothing when children were shot inside a school. A security guard was shot dead trying to protect shoppers. A cop accidentally shot his own. The good guy who tried to stop a bad guy is outgunned and a part of the rule #3.

Remember #3 means: The "good guy with a gun" better be prepared to die if they want to stop a shooter.

I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. Cause a bullet does not have eyes and it's always likely gonna hit a target. These folks seem to not get it. These incidents are a tragic part of American history. Thoughts and prayers and your heart going out to the victims is not enough. It quite frankly is an insult. I am also tired of scapegoating Black on Black crime, Chicago, Baltimore and Democratic mayors for the nation's obsession to be numb to gun violence. You pretty much enable this nonsense by deflecting.

President Joe Biden is trying to curb gun violence. However, he has no support from Republicans. Most Democrats and America are for gun control measures. However the two Democrats in the Senate refuse to change the filibuster rules and its holding us back.

The National Rifle Association is always pushing against it. They will not relinquish from the narrative that guns are not saving lives. The Republicans aided by a fickle junk food media are openly encouraging anarchy and disruption in a desperate attempt for the Republicans to win back Congress and the White House. These agitators are calling for Biden to curb crime but will not help him. They want more guns on the street. It makes no sense.

So in closing, expect more.

The website Officer Down is a memorial to those who were killed in the line of duty. Those who don't get their names mentioned in the junk food media. Also the website the National Gun Violence Memorial also keeps record of the many individuals killed by gun violence

The call number to the U.S. Capitol is now going to be used. This is the official phone number, 202-224-3121. Let them know that "thoughts and prayers," "hearts going to" and "good guys with guns" are no longer acceptable and you want legislation to curb gun violence.

GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES.

Shepard Smith Out At CNBC!

CNBC drops Shep.

Shocking news hearing that Tiffany Cross was fired out the cannon with MSNBC.

Now we hear that two years in, Shepard Smith is out at CNBC.

The veteran journalist, who arrived at the NBCUniversal venue in the fall of 2020 with a mission to grow the network’s audience in early evening with a non-partisan general-news program, will leave CNBC as it focuses more intently on its core product: information tailored for viewers interested in the markets and personal finance.

Smith’s last show will air later in November, and CNBC intends to replace his program, “The News with Shepard Smith,” with an evening hour devoted to business news in early 2023. The anchors for that program will be named at a later date, and it remains to be seen whether CNBC will select candidates from among its current roster or seek to woo someone from outside its ranks.

The maneuver is an early one for CNBC under its new leader, KC Sullivan, who took its reins earlier this year after the departure of longtime chief Mark Hoffman. Sullivan knows something about the needs of business audiences. He is a former chief financial officer of CNBC and of NBCU’s larger portfolio of news properties.

In a memo sent to staffers Thursday, Sullivan indicated the network needed to “prioritize and focus on our core strengths of business news and personal finance.  This is key in our efforts to continue building on our position as the number one global business news brand and to connect with new audiences of all kinds interested in their financial future.” He added: “We need to further invest in business news content that provides our audiences actionable understanding of the complex developments in global markets and the implications on institutions, investors and individuals.  During times of flux and uncertainty, our place in the lives of those we touch on-air, online and in person becomes even clearer, and more essential.”

CNBC has long had to navigate a challenge after traditional work hours, hoping to keep business-news audiences paying attention after the stock markets have closed for the day. Over the course of its history, CNBC tested talk shows led by John McEnroe, Donny Deutsch and Washed Comedian Miller, and, more recently, utilized competition shows such as “Shark Tank” and “The Profit.”

Smith’s program brought something new to the mix: a general-interest news show that CNBC executives hoped would keep the crowd that had assembled for Jim Cramer’s “Mad Money,” grow it and deliver it into primetime. While CNBC no longer uses Nielsen to measure audiences during its news day, a decision borne out of frustration over counting viewers in offices and on the road, it does rely on the traditional ratings service for evening and primetime fare.

The anchor brought with him a reputation for hard-hitting delivery and a fierce commitment to objective reportage. In the final moments of his first broadcast in 2020, Smith told viewers his show intended to deliver “thoughtful, honest reporting without favor or fear.”

He had been known for similar brio during his long tenure with Fox. He left that outlet after clashing with primetime host Sucker Cuckson, who disparaged the comments made by a guest on Smith’s regular afternoon program. Smith left in 2019 even though he had more time left on his contract, raising eyebrows in the media world and bringing new attention to the balance of news and opinion programming on the Fox Corp.-backed outlet.

NBCUniversal has tried to harness Fox personalities several times in the recent past, and failed. Karen Van Susteren, who held forth in Fox primetime for fourteen years, found tougher terrain at MSNBC, where an early-evening program she launched was on the air for just six months. Karen Kelly, whose star soared while anchoring a primetime show at Fox, had a tumultuous era at NBC News, where she was asked to anchor both a Sunday newsmagazine and a morning program, neither of which could emerge from under the intense scrutiny the anchor generated.

CNBC’s Sullivan had praise for Smith’s efforts. Though the program did not trump the viewership of its competitors, CNBC said it attracted the most affluent crowd among cable-news programs.

“The quality journalism Shep and his team delivered each weeknight was exemplary and not lost on us or our 7pm audience. ‘The News ‘increased CNBC’s 7pm viewership average and attracted the most affluent audience of any primetime cable news program. At a time when misinformation and disinformation is rampant, ‘The News’ succeeded in providing audiences with the clearest understanding of the facts,” said Sullivan, who added: “Decisions like these are not arrived at hastily or taken lightly.  I believe this decision will ultimately help to strengthen our brand and the value we provide our audiences.”

As for Smith, might he have other avenues to pursue? His relentless “just the facts” demeanor would seem to make him the perfect candidate for CNN as it develops under Warner Bros. Discovery. That network has yet to unveil its new plans for its 9 p.m. slot in the wake of an announcement Wednesday that hour’s current occupant, Jake Tapper, would return to his late-afternoon show, “The Lead,” following the midterm elections.
