In the latest of the Regrets here on Journal de la Reyna, we have a new strain worse than the delta variant of the coronavirus. There are reports that the omicron variant is spreading across the world. American scientists believe it's here in the United States.

We have surpassed over 800,000 Americans dead from the coronavirus. We are expected to hit 900,000 by mid-December.

Get vaccinated.

Anyway, reports from South Africa state that this new mutation of the coronavirus has been a cause of concern for world scientists. For Republicans, enough is enough, let's us be free of the mask mandates, the vaccine mandates and oh "Let's Go Brandon."

The Republicans have no ability to govern as a party. Their sole purpose is to "own the libs" and "stop Biden at all costs." 

We are slowly returning back to normal but the coronavirus is still here. Inflation has impacted our economy despite the unemployment rate being at record lows and a scene of normality has came back to the United States.

However, there are over 78 million adults here in the country not vaccinated. There are 155 million who are vaccinated once. There are 45 million who are fully vaccinated but got a booster shot. 

Researchers in South Africa are racing to track the concerning rise of a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The variant harbours a large number of the mutations found in other variants, including Delta, and it seems to be spreading quickly across South Africa.

A top priority is to follow the variant more closely as it spreads: it was first identified in Botswana earlier this month and has since turned up in a traveller arriving in Hong Kong from South Africa. Scientists are also trying to understand the variant’s properties, such as whether it can evade immune responses triggered by vaccines and whether it causes more or less severe disease than other variants do.

“We’re flying at warp speed,” says Penny Moore, a virologist at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, whose lab is gauging the variant’s potential to dodge immunity from vaccines and previous infections. There are anecdotal reports of reinfections and of cases in vaccinated individuals, but “at this stage it’s too early to tell anything”, Moore adds.

“There’s a lot we don’t understand about this variant,” Richard Lessells, an infectious-diseases physician at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa, said at a press briefing organized by South Africa’s health department on 25 November. “The mutation profile gives us concern, but now we need to do the work to understand the significance of this variant and what it means for the response to the pandemic.”

On November 26, the World Health Organization (WHO) designated the strain, known as B.1.1.529, as a variant of concern and named it Omicron, on the advice of scientists who are part of the WHO’s Technical Advisory Group on SARS-CoV-2 Virus Evolution. Omicron joins Delta, Alpha, Beta and Gamma on the current WHO list of variants of concern.

Researchers also want to measure the variant’s potential to spread globally — possibly sparking new waves of infection or exacerbating ongoing rises being driven by Delta.

Republicans have fought the mandates since the early beginning of the coronavirus. With President Joe Biden in office, it's been nonstop opposition to mandates and lawsuits. Many are claiming its tyranny for the federal government to implicate vaccine mandates.

They have villainized Dr. Anthony Fauci. Ever since he been in the public eye, he's became a focus of ire from the far-right and many Republicans want him imprisoned for doing his job.

The mixed messages coming from the federal government has also made it difficult to get this under control. Biden had promised that the pandemic would be over by the summer. 

A pandemic does not have a timeline and many folks are extremely tired of the mandates. Some are willing to take the risk of catching the coronavirus to prove that it won't kill them.

If only Americans got vaccinated, we would have been back to normal by July. Alas, they wanna fuck around and now they're going to find out.

Of course, there's folks who are fully vaccinated but end up getting the coronavirus. As with vaccines, nothing is 100%. The vaccines are capable of preventing the coronavirus. At best, it's a 94% prevention rate which means 1 out of 500 could be infected even if they're vaccinated.

President Joe Biden had hopes that Americans would take this shit seriously. Unfortunately, Republicans so fucking eager to return to power will keep Americans fixated on the culture wars. Now vaccinations are part of this culture war.

But those fighting the culture war by not vaccinating, not wearing face mask in public, not following protocols, and deliberately ignoring federal and international rules when traveling are going to be the first casualties of the war. 

With this pandemic mostly affecting states where Republican governors are, we may have to return to wearing facial protection and cutting back services to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

We came so far only to have a bunch of selfish idiots set it back. Just because they hate President Joe Biden.

The Republicans are so devoted to destroying Biden and the country for what....to regain power.

The coronavirus doesn't care about your age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, politics, economic or social standings. It doesn't care about your business, your performances, your personal finances and travel. It doesn't care about the funerals, the birthday parties, the weddings, the vacations, the events and your graduations. It doesn't care about anything. It's a living organism that causes mild symptoms that include: fever, sore throats, chills, respiratory issues, loss of taste or smell and other unknown symptoms. If you have a weak immune system or health issues, your risk increases.

Death does happen to at least 40% of those who are affected by COVID-19. 

If you're not vaccinated, your chances of death increases to 48%.

Healthy people can die from this. Take this seriously. You only have one life!

By 2022, the Transformco company which owns Sears and Kmart will start liquidation of the 24 remaining Sears and 10 remaining Kmart stores. Only a handful remain in the United States and its territories Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The two chains are only a shell of what they were when the holding company that owns both emerged from bankruptcy less than three years ago.

At the time, the holding company — given the overly optimistic name Transformco — still had 223 Sears and 202 Kmart stores nationwide. That was already down 87% from the 3,500 stores between the two brands when they merged together in 2005 to form Sears Holdings. But the percentage drop in stores since the company emerged from bankruptcy in February of 2019 has been even steeper.

We are at the end of the road for Kmart and Sears.

Today there are only 21 full-line Sears stores left in the mainland United States, and two more in Puerto Rico, according to the store locator on the Sears website, once recent closings are eliminated. Another seven stores listed on the site are limited to selling appliances, and in some cases, mattresses, rather than the full range of offerings that once was a hallmark of both chains.

And by the end of the year there will be only six Kmarts left in the mainland United States, along with six more in Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.

"To me it always felt like a liquidation. This has been going on for years," said Reshmi Basu, an expert in retail bankruptcies at Debtwire.

Many retail experts blame Eddie Lampert, the primary owner of Transformco and Sears Holdings, for the demise of two chains.

"He's letting leases expire, he's abandoning stores. He keeps them open if it's expedient to stay open," said Mark Cohen, the director of retail studies at Columbia University. "Obviously, they are all going to be gone shortly. You can count on that."

Sears and Kmart are not the only retailers to struggle with the shift of shopping habits to big box retailers such as Walmart (WMT) and Target (TGT), and to online retailers such as Amazon (AMZN). JCPenney and Neiman Marcus both filed for bankruptcy when the pandemic hit in 2020, and Lord & Taylor went out of business.

But critics of Lampert say he's to blame for the steep decline at both companies, as he invested little in the stores themselves, and sold off much of the more attractive real estate and brands that Sears once had, such as Craftsman tools, Diehard auto parts and Lands End.

"It's been in terminal decline for quite sometime," said Neil Saunders, managing director and retail analyst at research firm GlobalData.

The iconic Sears is going to disappear in 2022.

There's little chance of saving either chain in the current retail environment. Vendors are having problem supplying much stronger retailers with the inventory they need, given current supply chain problems. That makes it more difficult for Sears or Kmart to have the products that shoppers want.

"We know that suppliers are prioritizing their deliveries. They're delivering to outlets that add more value to brand," said Greg Portell, lead partner in the global consumer practice of consultant Kearney.

And the labor market — with near record numbers of job openings — only makes it tougher for the struggling chains to attract the workers they need.

"The war for talent in retail is very real right now. They're not only raising hourly wage, but look for other elements to attract workers, college tuitions, benefits, things that Sears and other troubled retailers will have difficulty matching," said Portell.

If this is indeed the end, it would be a sad demise for two chains that both go back to the late 19th century.

Kmart started in 1899 when founder Sebastian Spering Kresge opened a five-and-dime store in downtown Detroit bearing his name. The Kmart brand didn't come about until 1962. The chain grew rapidly for several decades, claiming the discount segment of the market that big box stores such as Walmart and Target now dominate.

Kmart became known for its 15-minute-long "blue light specials": a store would flash a blue light and announce "attention Kmart shoppers" over the public address system, and customers would rush to buy the discounted goods. The promotions started in 1965 but were discontinued in 1991, although Kmart has tried to bring them back several times.

Sears' history is even more storied. The company was once the largest retailer in the country -— both the Walmart and the Amazon during its heyday. At a time when the majority of Americans lived in rural areas, its catalog allowed many consumers to buy goods to which they would not have had access otherwise.

And Sears stores dominated the retail landscape, forcing many locally owned Main Street stores out of business the way that big box retailers would one day cause department stores to close. Many Sears were the anchor of malls that helped lead to the growth of US suburbs. It was literally a company that changed America.

Jeffrey Shaun King (aka Talcum X) and his endless grifting and soul stealing. The leftist hopped on social media to claim credit for the three men getting served in the murder of Ahmaud Arbrey.

Always bandwagoning never protesting. It has been well-known that King has often peddled in pushing Black pain for profit. Many of his former allies have accused him of stealing ideas, mishandling money and spreading misinformation about political figures. 

King, a staunch supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has pushed conspiracies about President Joe Biden and tried to encourage Black voters to sit out.

It took one Samira Rice, the mother of Tamir Rice to call this "trans" racial man out. We mourn the loss of Tamir Rice. He was killed on November 24, 2014 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was 12 years old when two Cleveland Police officers pulled up on him outside a park and shot him within seconds of exiting their vehicle.

He was playing with a pellet gun and wasn't doing anything dangerous. However, then Attorney General of Ohio now governor Karen DeWine withheld evidence and it lead to a grand jury to not convict the two cops Frank Garmack and Tim Loehmann. 

The three convicted men face a sentence that carries LIFE.

Garmack went back on the beat. Loehmann was fired out the cannon. Loehmann is still trying to find a place within law enforcement despite his less than stellar record and the controversy that will forever follow his rotten ass.

Rice has said that King raised money without her approval and gave her a mediocre conversation that he decided to share in preparedness of an expose criticizing his motives.

King creates phony profiles and sicced his troll army on Rice and many of the critics. He has blocked many prominent members of the Black Lives Matter movement including former ally DeRay McKesson.

Rice forced King to hop off of Twitter. He temporarily shut down his social media profiles but reopened them to promote his clothing line and new venues which continues to drive folks to giving him money.

King was not in Brunswick, Georgia. If he was in Brunswick, his buddy, the controversial trial attorney and candidate for Texas Attorney General, S. Lee Merritt stood in for him. 

The three white men who shot and killed Arbery while he was jogging were found guilty of his murder. 

One of the men who shot him was convicted on all nine charges. The man's father got eight of the charges and their neighbor got six of the charges. They face LIFE in the iron college. They also face a federal sandwich due to their racial antagonizing. The former Glynn County, Georgia prosecutor is also facing state charges and a possible federal sandwich as well for her withholding evidence and failure to indict the three men.

Can someone find Shaun King in the press conference?

I said that the IRS needs to look into King and his wife Rai. They have made nearly $6 million in funds without showing any active work. King claims to be a journalist, an ordain minister and trendsetter.

His wife is a homemaker and part-time instructor at a local college.

The New York Post and The Daily Mail, two far-right tabloids exposed King for purchasing a nearly $1 million dollar home. King quickly hopped on social media claiming that he's getting death threats and he is planning on moving out.

He and Merritt were asking for donations to help him move or hire security. 

Trust me, this guy is a pathetic piece. He claims he met Wanda Cooper Jones. If he had met her, why was he not in the background at the press conference?

I seen Rev. Al Sharpton, Ben Crump and Rev. William Barber and even Merritt. No signs of King anywhere. That's right, no white man masquerading as a Black man in the background.

I swear he will be going through some things soon. He is so fucking stupid and his grifts will backfire.

An Arkansas cop fucked around and found out. On top of that, he issued a dire warning to those who refuse to get vaccinated. He says, "You don't want to look like me in a medically induced coma."

Over 800,000 Americans are dead from the coronavirus. This Thanksgiving weekend will see a spike in infections and hospitalizations. The true story of a Jefferson County, Arkansas sheriff's deputy and his four month struggle.

Kaylon McDaniel is a 31-year-old veteran and current lieutenant at the sheriff's office. According to his parents, Marionette Crosby and Thomas McDaniel, he's been in the hospital since July 9. Thomas said although they live in Fort Worth, Texas, they've been living at their son's home since they got that call he tested positive for the virus.

Thomas said Kaylon was admitted to the ICU at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff then was airlifted to Baptist Health in late July. He said he believes if his son were vaccinated, he might not have been in the hospital at all, but he wasn't.

An Arkansas man is lucky to be alive.

He said in August, at one point, doctors didn't believe Kaylon would stay alive. They told Thomas his son's heart stopped and he was no longer breathing, but he was shortly revived. Thomas said Kaylon was temporarily put in a medically induced coma, suffered a heart attack, and was placed in the Baptist Health Rehab Institute.

"It's been tough, but we're getting through it," Thomas said. "It's gonna be alright, the Lord is with us and we got Him on our side."

Kaylon's mother, Marionette said her son is the youngest of four children. She said not being able to help her son has been an emotional challenge because it did not appear he would be coming home.

"It was like, I couldn't reach out, I couldn't hold him, I couldn't feel him, I couldn't touch him, I couldn't talk to him, I didn't know what to do, what to say. The only thing we could do is hold each other and started praying" Crosby said. "Tubes running out of his head, his chest, his throat, his legs, it was terrifying to see that."

On Thursday, more than 50 law enforcement officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Pine Bluff Police Department, White Hall Police Department, along with many other agencies and first responders escorted Kaylon home.

According to Kaylon's co-worker, Capt. Yohance Brunson, a motorcade homecoming is usually for first responders who have died or fallen soldiers. He said Kaylon was surprised to see so many first responders supporting him.

Brunson said several people at the department who were not vaccinated witnessed Kaylon's condition and changed their minds about getting vaccinated.

"It really hit home when it's one of your own versus hearing a story on TV," Brunson said.

Thomas told KATV his son began speaking in full sentences three weeks ago, but Kaylon has a long road to recovery. Kaylon is now vaccinated and at home resting, and they will stay in Pine Bluff until their son can return back to work.

According to Brunson, while Kaylon was in the hospital, their department set up a GoFundMe page to help assist him with medical bills.

Of course, we have inflation. Due to Americans leaving the workforce, the demand for food, supplies and electronics have went up. Gasoline prices are up because other countries distributing oil are having trouble keeping workers due to pay or the coronavirus.

Republicans are seizing on the inflation and government mandates as their key to winning back Congress. Despite their failure to take control of the pandemic when they had Washed Up 45 in charge, the Republicans still biter over their election defeat would rather let the country fall into chaos. They rather allow Americans be upset with culture wars instead of their failure to provide alternatives to President Joe Biden's Build Back Better agenda.

Biden had hopes that Americans would take this shit seriously. Unfortunately, Republicans so fucking eager to return to power will keep Americans fixated on the culture wars. Now vaccinations are part of this culture war.

But those fighting the culture war by not vaccinating, not wearing face mask in public, not following protocols, and deliberately ignoring federal and international rules when traveling are going to be the first casualties of the war. 

With this pandemic mostly affecting states where Republican governors are, we may have to return to wearing facial protection and cutting back services to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

We came so far only to have a bunch of selfish idiots set it back. Just because they hate President Joe Biden.

The coronavirus doesn't care about your age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, borders, religion, politics, economic or social standings. It doesn't care about your business, your performances, your personal finances and travel. It doesn't care about the funerals, the birthday parties, the weddings, the vacations, the events and your graduations. It doesn't care about anything. It's a living organism that causes mild symptoms that include: fever, sore throats, chills, respiratory issues, loss of taste or smell and other unknown symptoms. If you have a weak immune system or health issues, your risk increases.

Death does happen to at least 40% of those who are affected by COVID-19. 

If you're not vaccinated, your chances of death increases to 48%.

Comedian Dave Chappelle found himself back in his hometown of Washington, DC where he got a cold welcome from some of the students at his old high school.

Chappelle who lives in Yellow Springs, Ohio and frequents Dayton during his down time has come under fire for his Netflix comedy show The Closer. In the clips, the comedian/activist made comments addressing the trans community. Even though he was telling jokes, the act didn't impress many in the LGBTQ+ community and they demanded that the show be pulled. 

Netflix stood by it decision to have it air and it led to a massive protest against Chappelle and the streaming company for allowing it to air.

So while back in Washington, DC, Chappelle went to his old high school Duke Ellington School for the Arts to take part in a Q&A session with staffers and students. He handed out Thanksgiving meals and tickets to his upcoming film, Untitled.

The comedian with cameramen in tow was greeted with cheers and boos. Not often Chappelle gets booed for being on stage. Chappelle, a mildly shy person doesn't do pictures or filming his show without permission. He often will take pictures if you're not trying to sell them for profit. 

As with many of his shows, he requires you to not have cell phones or cameras in the facility.

So there were allegations based of witness accounts of the show.

Eight students have directly went to Chappelle and told him he's a bigot and his attitude towards the trans community was childish and beneath him.

"I'm 16 and I think you're childish, you handled [the controversy] like a child."

"My friend, with all due respect, I don't believe you could make one of the decision I have to make on a given day," said Chappelle.

Some students call for Chappelle to be removed from the donor's list at Duke Ellington. They also believe that hosting him was a big mistake. The school values include diversity, enlightenment and success.

The Duke Ellington School for the Arts is part of the Washington DC Public Schools.

Many also want Chappelle not to be named on their theater due to his controversial remarks.

So far, Chappelle remains unfazed by the attention. Although, he has seen a drop in popularity, the comedian continues to push forward. 

Also in regards to his remarks about the act, one student said "Your comedy kills."

He responded back saying that "Niggas are killed every day."

Far-right lawmaker's feud with far-left lawmaker continues.

After Rep. Karen Gosar (R-AZ) got stripped of his committee assignments in the wake of his anime depicting him assassinating Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and President Joe Biden, the Republicans vow revenge. The QAnon leader Karen McCarthy (R-CA) stated that he will reinstate Gosar and Rep. Idiot Karen Greene (R-GA) back to their position.

Only two Republicans joined with the Democrats in condemning and stripping the Arizona lawmaker of his positions.

One quickly came to defense. The Shooter Grille lady who claims to be armed while in Congress. The lawmaker who refuses to wear a mask while in the chamber. The lawmaker who wore a designer dress with the meme "Let's Go Brandon" on it to counter Ocasio-Cortez's "Tax The Rich" dress.

The Colorado lawmaker who shares QAnon based nonsense like Greene. The lawmaker who said that she and Rep. Karen Cawthorne (R-NC) would love to have the Kenosha shooter work under their wing.

An online troll who has no accomplishments other than being a total bitch. In other words, a taxpayer's burden.

She called Dr. Anthony Fauci's recommendations to have American vaccinated, the "Fauci Ouchy."

Now she's going after Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). She has the audacity to call one of three Muslim lawmakers the "Jihad Squad." 

Jihad means struggle against the opposers of Islam or one's self through god's will and the Prophet Mohammad. \

The Republicans took a word and turned it into a "scary" thing.

While talking to her constituents, Boebert tells a tale about a moment she came across her fellow lawmaker.

"So the other night on the House floor was not my first jihad squad moment. So I was getting into an elevator with one of my staffers. And he and I are - we're leaving the Capitol. We're going back to my office and we get in the elevator, and I see a Capitol Police officer running hurriedly to the elevator," Boebert said. 

"I see fret all over his face, and he's reaching... The door's shutting, like I can't -- I can't open it -- like, what's happening? I look to my left, and there she is. Ilhan Omar. I said, 'Well she doesn't have a backpack, we should be fine," she said as the crowd laughed and cheered.

While I do support Omar on a few things, her vote against bipartisanship makes her just as worse as Boebert. Both women are there for click-bait and attention grabbing headlines.

Omar fired back.

"Fact, this buffoon looks down when she see me at the Capitol, this whole store is made up. Sade she thinks bigotry gets her clout," said Omar on social media.

Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) are practicing Muslims. They are Democrats and they oppose the U.S. giving aid to Israel. They believe that the country is using apartheid laws to keep Palestinians from having human rights, land and dignity. They believe that the Israel government's continuation of building on Palestinian land is an illegal act of war.

Here in the United States and other countries, they equate criticism of Israel to anti-semitism. Some states have controversial laws that fine or sanction any critic of Israel. Those legislative laws are being challenged in court because it is sanctioning free speech.

Boebert who has no clue about the conflict in the Middle East. Yet, she backs the American taxpayer paying for Israeli defenses. 

Boebert is a ditzy type of woman. She has no clue about how the world works, nor she cares. She was elected to be the nominee after defeating somewhat rational Karen Tipton in 2020. She took office in 2021.

She like many of the new class of white nationalists voted against certifying President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. She allegedly invited members of the Oath Keepers into the Capitol.

She infamously tweeted that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was off the floor as the Capitol rioters were inside the building. She also engaged in contact with members of the group the House Select Committee are demanding a full account of what happened. Some of those members are willing to face jail time because of their refusal to be subpoenaed. 

Boebert like many of these lawmakers in Washington are getting paid to deliver results. The problem with the current members of Congress is they're just not doing anything to Build Back Better.

All they want to do is Destroy One Another for political clout.

A Broadway star who impersonates Michael Jackson was caught at the infamous Stop The Steal rally and inside the U.S. Capitol. The federal sandwich is being handed off to him.

Unbeknownst to his Broadway castmates, he played the actual role of domestic terrorist.

The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Orlando-based insurrectionist and is said to be a member of a far-right militia group called Oath Keepers.

He is currently a cast member of Jesus Christ Superstar’s Travel Productions.

Black man participated in the insurrection is a Broadway actor.

According to court documents, the domestic terrorist has joined others who oppose Democratic President Joe Biden’s victory over incumbent Washed Up 45. According to officials, mobs attacked the Capitol in an attempt to prevent Congress from proving election results. Five people died in violence.

At some point during the attack, a group of Oath Keepers and affiliates marched to the Capitol grounds in a “stack” format, climbing the eastern stairs of the Capitol and moving to the area outside the Rotunda door. 

Upon entering the Capitol, the group split. Half of them, including the domestic terrorist, tried to get through a line of law enforcement officers guarding the corridor leading to the Senate, officials said.

Law enforcement agencies have forcibly repelled their progress. The domestic terrorist and the people with him reorganized in Rotunda and then left the building.

Judeus was an Oath Keeper.

Police say he was able to identify him because he wore Michael Jackson’s “BAD” World Tour Jacket and a black helmet and had something that looked like a homemade black shield.

According to court records, he was charged with a felony of congressional obstruction and a misdemeanor of illegally invading a restricted building or site.

Since January 6, more than 675 people have been arrested in almost all 50 states for crimes related to the U.S. Capitol breach, officials said.

They were so offensive, James called the referees and staff to personally have them removed from game.

Anyway, the fans were ignorant as fuck. The white woman made a mocking pouty face and mock crybaby tears at James. Her image will forever be a meme to white privilege and Karens everywhere.

The NBA announced on Monday that James had been suspended for one game without pay, while Isaiah Stewart was banned for two games without pay.

James missed Tuesday's nationally televised game against the New York Knicks, while Stewart missed Tuesday's home game against the Miami Heat and will miss Wednesday's game at the Milwaukee Bucks.

James and Stewart were both ejected after a wild melee early in the second half of the Lakers' 121-116 victory in Detroit.

Stewart suffered a large cut near his right eye after getting hit in the face by James while battling for position on a free throw during the third quarter.

Stewart was left with a big gash on his face with blood pouring out of it as he angrily tried to get to James for revenge.

It took a number of players and officials to restrain Stewart as the incensed center repeatedly tried to approach James on the court.

James was fined over $350,000 and Stewart was fined $950,000 for the incident. Stewart's refusal to leave the court during de-escalation cost him big time.
