I don't believe she is completely sober.
When the acting gigs dried up, Maia Campbell had to do some work. She made videos for adult entertainment. She got addicted to cocaine and crack. She was roaming around Atlanta streets selling her body.
Not judging her.

Campbell is reflecting on her past mistakes and how she is trying to reach out to her daughter and family.
She made the mistake of going to the media agitating The Art of Dialogue.
As she is approaching 50 years old, Campbell managed to survive some of the worst things that happened to her since she had the role of Tiffany in the sitcom In The House.
LL Cool J, Alfonso Ribeiro, Kim Wayans and Debbie Allen have moved on to other projects post In The House. LL tried to reach out to her when she was recorded by a man pumping gas and she demanding crack in exchange for sexual services.
Campbell was arrested for soliciting, drug possession and prostitution.
Since 2002, Campbell has been in and out of the county lockup.
Campbell still surviving the streets of Atlanta.
Bebe Moore Campbell's passing has been really rough on her. Campbell struggled with mental illness.
She has tired to get sober many times before.
