Do you think Republicans will be swayed by a 11-year old gun violence survivor? |
The House of Representatives and Senate held hearings to discuss the proposals laid out to curbing gun violence.
In the hearings, you heard from an actor, a former fire commissioner and a 11-year old girl. Each of their lives were affected by gun violence and they are urging Congress (I meant Republicans) to stop pandering and pass proposals to save lives.
The Republicans are like "tone deaf" when it comes to gun violence, women's rights, LGBTQ rights, voting rights, civil rights and science. They are just constantly opposing everything so they can win back power.
They offer no solutions to inflation, rising gas prices, gun violence, climate change and extremism.
They are festering in it. Obviously, Fox and the Republicans are tuning out the Jan. 6 committee findings on major networks, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, NPR and CSPAN.
Listen to the testimony of 11-year old Miah Cerrillo. She is traumatized for life. She was the young girl who had to smear her dead friend's blood on her to keep her out of the line of crossfire.
The Uvalde terrorist blew everyone's faces off with an AR-15 style weapon. She testified to Congress stating that she "never wants to re-live that experience again." She as well as many others are calling on Congress (I meant Republicans) to pass gun reform.
Republicans in the House and Senate are signalling they're not willing to ban assault weapons. They said they're willing to possibly raise the age to purchase firearms to 21. They want to strengthen schools but offer the lamest examples to deal with it. From having more armed guards, arming teachers, one point entries, more bulletproof glass, stop access doors, holding teachers responsible for leaving doors open, holding teachers responsible for teaching critical race theory or LGBTQ rights in the classroom are what Republicans believe are the key solutions to gun violence. Hell, I might as well say prayers because these morons want to pray and ban marijuana.
Obviously, we will see how Congress (I meant Republicans) will vote on this bipartisan legislation.
Republicans are hoping that this will die down and then they can move back to culture wars and blaming Biden for a worldwide inflation crisis.
Mind you, in Ohio, most gas stations are ranging from $4.999 to $5.299 on regular. For diesel, $5.99 to $6.599.
With all these issues, what's more important?
Saving your life or saving your wallet?
The call number to the U.S. Capitol is now going to be used. This is the official phone number, 202-224-3121. Let them know that "thoughts and prayers," "hearts going to" and "good guys with guns" are no longer acceptable and you want legislation to curb gun violence.
GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES.
