SCOTUS Threw Census Question And Gerrymander Challenges Out!

The Court pisses off Trump, progressives and conservatives. The current justices are Steven Breyer, Clarence Thomas, John Roberts (Chief Justice), Ruth Bider Ginsburg, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Brett Kavannaugh.
The conservative John Roberts Supreme Court has gotten progressives, conservatives and Donald J. Trump upset. They made two decisions that impact the U.S. Census.

The U.S. Census will not have a citizenship question. The Court's 5-4 decision to keep the U.S. Census in tact. The Huffington Post reports that the Department of Justice and that incompetent leader are pissed.

Kelly Laco, a spokesperson for the Department of Justice, said, "We are disappointed by the Supreme Court's decision today. The Department of Justice will continue to defend this Administration's lawful exercises of executive power."

The court ordered the case back to a lower court for further review, which appeared to effectively block the question because the Census Bureau says the forms for the survey need to start being printed on July 1.

A census to count every living person in the United States is mandated by the Constitution to take place once every 10 years. The official date for the 2020 census is April 1, though people can begin to respond in the weeks before that day. Preparations for the census have been underway for years.

Civil rights groups sued the Trump administration over the citizenship question, arguing that it would discourage people of color from participating and effectively give more power to Republicans and non-Hispanic whites. By the Census Bureau’s own analysis, millions of people could be left out. Activists say that because census responses power redistricting, inaccurate information could lead to dramatic electoral consequences.

"If the citizenship question is part of the survey and there is a sizable undercount, states with large immigrant populations could very well lose political representation in Congress," according to the American Civil Liberties Union. "Depressing census response rates in already underrepresented communities will allow politicians to draw even more skewed legislative districts and further dilute the political power of these communities."

Activists cheered Thursday’s decision but cautioned that some damage may have already been done.

"We know that even the specter of the citizenship question has intensified this climate of fear. And even in the best of times without a citizenship question, the work to get to an accurate count is one of the most challenging operations in peacetime America," said Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. "After today's decision, which we all hail as a huge win for democracy in this country, we also know our work isn't over."
The worst are yet to come.
The states that had partisan gerrymandering will continue but the court said that it should be a state and voter matter instead of the Supreme Court. This allows state controlled partisans governance in how districts are drawn. So the state house can break down the Congressional boundaries to favor one party over the other.

In a 5-4 decision, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote that partisan gerrymandering was a political question beyond the reach of the federal court. There are no fair and manageable standards for judges to evaluate whether a gerrymander is constitutional, Roberts wrote in his majority opinion.

"We conclude that partisan gerrymandering claims present political questions beyond the reach of the federal courts," Roberts wrote in Thursday’s decision. "Federal judges have no license to reallocate political power between the two major political parties, with no plausible grant of authority in the Constitution, and no legal standards to limit and direct their decisions."

Roberts was joined by the court’s four other conservative justices in the majority.

The court's decision ensures state lawmakers will have virtually unlimited license to choose the voters who elect them. By packing the opposing party's voters into as few districts as possible or spreading them out among many districts, lawmakers can make it next to impossible for the other party to win a majority of legislative or congressional seats.

Justice Elena Kagan, in a dissenting opinion joined by the three other liberal-leaning justices, wrote about the corrosive effect gerrymandering has on American democracy. New technology, she said, would only make the practice more extreme.

"If left unchecked, gerrymanders like the ones here may irreparably damage our system of government," she wrote. "Of all times to abandon the Court’s duty to declare the law, this was not the one. The practices challenged in these cases imperil our system of government. Part of the Court's role in that system is to defend its foundations. None is more important than free and fair elections."

Kagan further added, "The majority's idea instead seems to be that if we have lived with partisan gerrymanders so long, we will survive."

Gubernatorial and state legislative elections later this year and in 2020 will now determine which party controls redistricting for the following decade. Republicans currently have the power to draw far more congressional districts than Democrats do (179 to 76); if that continues after the 2020 elections, the Supreme Court’s decision will effectively entrench GOP rule.

The cases the Supreme Court ruled on involved congressional districts in North Carolina and Maryland, two great examples of the power of gerrymandering. In North Carolina, Republicans have controlled nearly all of the state's 13 congressional seats since 2012, even though they’ve consistently won only about half of the statewide congressional vote. In Maryland, Democrats redrew one of the state's congressional districts in 2011, flipping it from a Republican one to a Democratic one. Roscoe Bartlett, who represented the district, won with over 60% of the votes in 2010. In 2012, with new district lines in place, he lost to a Democrat by more than 20 percentage points. Democrats have held a 7-to-1 edge in that’s state's congressional delegation ever since.

The Supreme Court's ruling in the suit, which is actually two consolidated cases ― Rucho v. Common Cause and Lamone v. Benisek ― is a disappointment to gerrymandering reform activists, who argued that Maryland and North Carolina were clear-cut examples of egregious partisan gerrymandering and that the court had to act. Lawmakers in both cases had admitted they drew electoral boundaries with the specific intent of advantaging their own party.

In North Carolina, Republicans had to redraw the state’s congressional districts after a 2016 court ruling said their first attempt had unlawfully diluted the influence of black voters. When they set out to draw a new map later that year, Republicans required that it continue to give Republicans a 10-to-3 advantage and told the mapmaker they hired not to consider race. A top Republican in the legislature boasted that the reason lawmakers were passing a 10-to-3 map was because it was not possible to draw a map that was 11-to-2.

The plaintiffs in the North Carolina case ― Democratic voters in each of the state’s congressional districts, the state Democratic Party and civic groups ― argued that the districts in North Carolina clearly violated the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of speech and the 14th Amendment's guarantee of equal protection of the law. They also said lawmakers were essentially guaranteeing election outcomes, violating provisions of Article I of the Constitution, which says the members of the House of Representatives shall be chosen by "the people" and allows lawmakers to only set the "time, manner and place" of elections.

The Maryland case involved a challenge to the state's 6th Congressional District. The plaintiffs, Republican voters, said that Democrats intentionally gerrymandered the district in 2011 to flip it from a Republican one to a Democratic one.

During oral arguments in March, the more conservative justices on the court did not seem eager to weigh in on partisan gerrymandering. The U.S. Constitution gives lawmakers the power to draw district lines, and the conservative justices seemed hesitant to embrace the idea that the court had a responsibility to step in and decide when gerrymandering is so egregious that it becomes unconstitutional. They also appeared skeptical that there was a way to figure out when gerrymandering was so severe that it was unconstitutional.

"There are no legal standards discernible in the Constitution for making such judgments, let alone limited and precise standards that are clear, manageable, and politically neutral," Roberts wrote. "Any judicial decision on what is 'fair' in this context would be an 'unmoored determination' of the sort characteristic of a political question beyond the competence of the federal courts."

Paul Clement, a prolific Supreme Court lawyer who served as solicitor general under George W. Bush, argued on behalf of North Carolina lawmakers. He warned the court against striking down the districts, saying it would invite a flood of lawsuits from people who were dissatisfied with the results of elections.

The gerrymandering reform advocates on the other side of the case were concerned that computer mapping, big data and other new technology would allow lawmakers to gerrymander more precisely than they ever had before.

Democrats are determined not to let Republicans have as much influence in redrawing electoral boundaries in 2021 as they did in 2011. Former Attorney General Eric Holder is leading a group, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, focused on helping Democrats win key state races that will ensure they have a seat at the table during redistricting.

There is also a movement to rein in excessive partisan gerrymandering outside of the courts. Voters in Michigan, Colorado, Utah and Missouri approved ballot initiatives to either allow independent commissions to redistrict or to limit excessive political considerations.

The current members of the John Roberts court are noted. Roberts was appointed as Associate Justice to replace Sandra Day O'Connor. However the death of William Rehnquist quickly elevated his appointment to be Chief Justice. Roberts was appointed by George W. Bush.

Sonia Sotomayor - Obama
Elena Kagan - Obama
Brett Kavannaugh - Trump
Clarence Thomas - G.H. Bush
Stephen Breyer - Clinton
Ruth Bader Ginsberg - Clinton
Neil Gorsuch - Trump
Samuel Alito - G.W. Bush

The decisions of 5-4 are extremely controversial. Many believe the Supreme Court justices are too partisan and fail at impartiality. Another branch of government that the citizens hate.

Unlike Trump and Congress, the Roberts court has at least 43% favorability. Trump has a 41% favorability.

(Addison) Mitch McConnell is the most hate politician overall.

Ted Cruz, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Lindsey Graham, Matt Gaetz, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Susan Collins, Jim Jordan, Liz Cheney, Rashida Tlaib, Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, Kevin McCarthy, Steve Scalise, Dick Durbin, Tom Cotton, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio are the most hated lawmakers in the country.

Timing is everything. Sanders and Harris are running for the Democratic nomination. Could they overcome the doubt.

Trump is unpopular but he is likely to win 2020. Democrats need to find a path to victory and it has to be a strategy that paints the status quo as the problem and not the policies.

McConnell signals that he will confirm Trump's Supreme Court nominees if one retires or dies.

Alabama Charges Gun Shooting Victim For The Loss Of Her Unborn Child!

American woman is facing a test of the controversial Alabama fetus law. She is being charged for the death of her fetus after she was shot in the stomach by another woman.
Alabama's controversial unborn law has already caused a controversy. A woman who lost her fetus after she was shot because she started a fight with the shooter is being charged with the death.

The law indicts Marshae Jones for the death of her own fetus. They charged the shooter who was identified as Ebony Jemison for murder of an unborn fetus, aggregated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.

According to the law, the incident happened in December.

Police were told that there was a shooting outside a Dollar General store in the Birmingham suburb of Pleasant Grove.

Witnesses said that Jones was driven to Fairfield after the shooting.
The controversial decision to charge the shooting victim with the death of her fetus is drawing national attention.
The law went to Fairfield and found Jones with a gunshot wound to the stomach. She was rushed to the hospital. She told the authorities she was five months pregnant. The fetus did not survive the shooting.

The law found out that the incident stemmed over a fight between two women and a man. The law decided to charge Jones and Jemison.

"The investigation showed that the only true victim in this was the unborn baby," said Pleasant Grove police Lt. Danny Reid.

Alabama is a fucked up state. I mean how can anyone charge the victim of gun violence?

The woman who shot Jones is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges could put the woman in the iron college for LIFE.

This woman is African American. The shooter is African American. The state is Alabama and the governor is Kay Ivey. The two senators are Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) and Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL). The U.S. Representatives for Alabama for Jefferson County which is Birmingham are Rep. Gary Palmer (R-AL) and Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL).

They better do something. Cause this is a disgrace.

Jones is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. She could face LIFE as well.

This is ridiculous for Americans gun shooting victims to be charged with the death of their own fetus.

Hopefully the Democrats will have this in the debate.

Meghan McCain About To Be Loaded In The Cannon!

The View hosts are getting tired of Meghan McCain (right).
The View is getting tired of the antics of one far-white agitator.

Meghan McCain, once a rational voice of conservatives became a pain in everyone's ass. Her days are numbered at The View. She recently blew up at one of the executive producers of the show and it had to be squashed through human resources.

The 34-year old daughter of the late 2008 presidential candidate and U.S. senator John S. McCain III, cursed out Brian Teta for not being briefed on a guest who appeared on the show.

She called him a "motherfucker" in front of a live audience.

"This is some bullshit! What are you producers good for? You motherfucker, how could you let this happen to me?

Whoopi Goldberg and Sonny Hostin had to calm her down.

She mistaken a law professor for a Justice Department lawyer during the live show.

This happened on Tuesday and many behind the scenes believe Meghan McCain's antics are a distraction from the actual topics. The last time she went nuts on The View was the time she and progressive agitator Joy Behar got into it where McCain directly called her a "bitch" online.

The two said that they're friends who are different on occasions.

Barbara Walters who left the show during 2015 and the James Goldston have not decided on whether it's about time to send her ass packing. But you can tell it's getting to a point where she'll fuck up and it's a cannon firing.

McCain was throwing her dad being in the Hanoi Hilton as an excuse to why Donald J. Trump and his incompetent government had children in detention centers. Many progressives said that Trump has these people in concentration camps.

Conservatives are claiming that progressives like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is anti-Semitic for bringing up the claim.

McCain joined The View in 2017 and has been considered a pain in the ass since she's been on the show. She was then a guest host and former Fox News host.

Whoopi Goldberg returned to the daytime show last month after she was battling a dangerous form of pneumonia. She counted her blessings that she survived this.

Florida is a very important state for Republicans. Donald J. Trump carried the state by five points.

Trump will be heading to Japan for the G-20 Summit. He will be tweeting some insult or ridiculous version of trolling.

Mind you that America is really divided over issues. Trump has a three point advantage in Florida and has a 67% chance of winning reelection.

We will see who can become the standout candidate.

Beth Chapman Passed Away!

Dog The Bounty Hunter's wife Beth died of cancer.
Wife of reality television star and racial arsonist Duane "Dog" Chapman passed away after suffering a bout of terminal cancer.

Beth Chapman (born Alice Elizabeth Barmore) who was the "no-nonsense" wife of Dog The Bounty Hunter passed away today after being placed in hospice in Hawai'i. She was 51 years old.

Chapman, 66 announced her passing on his social media.

Beth was first diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in November 2017. She underwent a successful surgery, but doctors months later told her that the cancer returned. Although she began chemotherapy in December 2018, Chapman told US Weekly at the time she wanted to explore alternative therapies.

Dog The Bounty Hunter was a successful reality television show. It was featuring a bounty hunter who turned his life around from drugs and alcohol abuse. He was slated to premiere a return to television with Dog's Most Wanted on WGN America.

Chapman married his wife in Hawai'i in 2006.

Chapman leaves behind children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

NRA-TV Shot Itself In The Crotch!

The Dana Show is gone. NRA-TV cancels her paycheck.
It seems like far-white agitator Dana Loesch is out of a job. She along with Colion Noir, Greg Stinchfield and Cam Edwards were fired out the cannon. The agitators were a part of NRA-TV, a network sponsored by the gun lobbyist group the National Rifle Association.

The New York Times said the gun lobby is "cleaning house." The first step was to cut ties to the former president of the NRA's company Ackerman McQueen.

The two companies are in a biter fight over how money was being spent. They also were working on ousting its longtime face of the organization. The NRA said that Ackerman McQueen stole $40 million from the gun lobbyist group.

After Oliver North went south, he exposed the NRA's chief spokesman Wayne LaPierre.

North left the NRA as their president after he and LaPierre got into a heated feud over expenses.

The NRA also fired out the cannon Chris W. Cox, the second-in-command of the gun group.

Cox was trying to oust LaPierre from his position. The gun lobby is struggling to correct its finances.
Greg Stinchfield fired from NRA-TV also. The far-white agitator is attempting to run for Congress again.
Its facing investigations by Congress due to the fact they allowed a Russian agent named Maria Valeryevana Butina into their fold. Butina is currently serving a 18-month federal time out before she is expelled from the U.S. for life. The gun lobbyist was an unregistered foreign agent (spy) for the Russian Federation. She was a honeytrap to many faces in the NRA. LaPierre may have slept with Butina.

The NRA is under investigation by the New York Attorney General. Letitia James, the current New York Attorney General is vowing to strip the gun lobby of its non-profit status.

Dana Loesch is a far-white agitator who was part of The Blaze. She was the face of Glenn Beck's struggling company. She left the company in 2017 after Beck's company was facing closure. She joined the NRA and became their prominent spokeswoman. She often done The Dana Show from NRA-TV studios and hosted a live program on the network.

LaPierre even admits that the hosts of NRA-TV were not talking about the positive views of gun rights.

Loesch was infamous the Violence of Lies video where she called progressives and anti-Trump activists as enemies of the state.

She was complaining about how Thomas and Friends being too polarizing for adding engine Nia to the popular train show. In one clip, she put up a graphic of Thomas The Tank Engine and others wearing Klan hoods. She was upset that "social justice warriors" were destroying children's programs.

Thoughts and prayers, thoughts and prayers. Thoughts and prayers won't heal the wounded or bring back the dead. It's just worthless platitudes. The lowering of flags, memorials, moments of silence, naming streets and parks and finger pointing aren't solving this. Donald J. Trump, Congress and the NRA are bunch of lily-livered cowards. They are numb to gun violence.

GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE THREAT IN THE UNITED STATES.

Farrah Fawcett Missed!

On this day, Farrah Fawcett passed away. This was on the day the music died. Michael Jackson would die later that day.
You will never be forgotten Farrah Fawcett.

We all miss Michael Jackson.

The legendary pop star passed away on the day that iconic television actress and model Farrah Fawcett died.

When the junk food media was talking about Farrah Fawcett dying of cancer, many of the coverage focused on her. It wasn't until 2pm (EST) when the news broke that Jackson was being admitted to the hospital for medical reasons. It wasn't until 5pm (EST) before the junk food media went LIVE.

They covered Jackson's death and ignored Fawcett's death. Each death was significant. Not to mention the death of Ed McMahon who died a day before the news of these two iconic entertainers passing.

We all remember Farrah for her golden blonde hair which became an iconic trademark of the entertainer. She was a model, actress and humanitarian. She was a woman who captured hearts in her television work on the 1970s action drama Charlie's Angels.

She passed away at the age of 62.

It will be 10 years since Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died. They both died on the same day and it was felt by many who knew them personally.

Redmond J. Fawcett-O'Neal, a troubled man and only son of Farrah and then husband Ryan O'Neal struggled through life with drugs. He and half-sister actress Tatum O'Neal vow to keep Farrah's legacy in tact.

Redmond did at least try to clean up his act. Until recently when he was charged with attempted murder.

I want to be clear that to this day will always will miss Michael Jackson. He was a part of my childhood and adult years. His death shook me.

It also gave me the chills. Cause years later, we lost Whitney Houston and Prince. They leave behind legacies of controversy and music.

Gone but never forgotten.

We will miss Farrah Fawcett. Entertainment lost a legend on June 25, 2009.

John Sanders Out!

John Sanders of CBP is out. Trump fires him after he failed to keep the junk food media from exposing the government's inhuman treatment of migrants.
BE WARNED THERE IS GRAPHIC PHOTOS IN THIS POSTING.

Given that the junk food media is talking about the inhuman conditions of migrant children at these detention camps many progressives are saying these facilities are like concentration camps.

One of the key figures involved in the detainment of migrants and their children is being forced out.

Donald J. Trump denies doing it but given how incompetent his staff is, it's highly likely John Sanders was fired out the cannon.

The acting director of the Customs and Border Patrol Agency is being forced out.

"Although I will leave it to you to determine whether I was successful, I can unequivocally say that helping support the amazing men and women of CBP has been the most fulfilling and satisfying opportunity of my career."

CBP has been under fire for the detainment of children in unsanitary conditions. Teens and young children are taking care of babies. Children with medical needs are being not treated. Sexual abuse is possibly happening.

Sanders was named acting director after Trump named Kevin McAleenan the acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
El Salvadoran father and his little child drowned trying to cross the U.S.-Mexican border near the Rio Grande.
The conditions at a Texas holing facility has became an international controversy.

Trump and Congress are at odds over how to handle the immigration issue. Trump continues to vow he will veto any legislation that doesn't include money for the border wall. He also vows to deploy Immigration and Custom Enforcement officers to the major cities to round up undocumented immigrants.

This comes on the heels of a disturbing image of a El Salvadorian migrant father and his daughter drowning in front of a grief stricken mother.

Oscar Martinez Ramirez and his wife Tania Avalos were trying to escape crime and corruption in El Salvador.
International media took a photo of a father and his daughter drowning in the Rio Grande River.
He tried to make it to the U.S. border on the need for assistance. He tried to cross the heavily deep Rio Grande River which Mexico and the United States share a border.

The water was deep and the young father and his little daughter were swept about five miles downstream.

The Mexican authorities and U.S. authorities found the body at the banks. The Mexican authorities will take control of the issue. They were trying to cross the river to make it to Brownsville.

My Post on Miss Audrey 1968-1993

Miss Audrey Spain
1968-1993

It's time to give Miss Audrey her story.  She's one of the least known victims of Charlotte serial killer Henry Louis Wallace.  She deserves to be known for who she is, not as a victim.

The day before her murder, Miss Audrey arrived back in Charlotte after taking her much needed vacation, she called her boss at Taco Bell regarding her upcoming weekly work schedule.  She worked with the man who murdered her.  She also knew Miss Shawna Hawk, for she worked alongside with her as well as Vanessa Little Mack's sister, Leslie.

She was murdered on the night of June 22, 1993.  For three days, her boss at Taco Bell called her home for being absent at work.  Around that time, her family and friends were worried and they eventually filed the missing person's alert the next day.  On the 24th, the boss at Taco Bell went to her house for a welfare check.  He only knocked on her door.  The police came to her house that night as well.  However, on the 25th, he went over to her house only to find police cars and ambulance at her apartment.  The maintenance man found her body in the afternoon of June 25th.  She's been dead for two and a half days.

Her family described her as being friendly and compassionate.  She's a beautiful and very intelligent young woman. As a matter of fact, her parents were sad that she left her small town to live in Charlotte.  Initially, she aspired to work in computer science, but that didn't panned out, so she landed a job as a manager at Taco Bell in East Charlotte.

Here are two news articles I found as I was researching for her story online.  They're from the mid-1990s during the capital murder trial of Henry Louis Wallace.  Her family was relieved that he was arrested, tried, and sentenced for the murder of their "baby" and youngest daughter.

FAMILY SEEKS CLOSURE- September 1996 article

Author: Jeannine F. Hunter

Audrey Spain left Bayboro in 1991 seeking a future in Charlotte. But in July 1993, a killer brought that dream to an end.

Spain was 24 years old.

She was one of the women Henry Wallace is accused of killing. He goes on trial this week and her family hopes the trial will bring closure to their personal tragedy.

``The trial will add to the closure process. The sooner it's over the better,'' said Sinnia Mickle, Spain's oldest sister who lives in Charlotte. ``We can finally put everything to rest. But the hardest part is reliving it all over again. With the trial coming up, I'm sure that will happen again.''

Spain left home after graduating from Horry-Georgetown Technical College. She was hired as an assistant manager of a Taco Bell restaurant near Eastland Mall. Within months, she had bought a new car and had found her own apartment.

Along the way, Mickle said her sister met many people, including Wallace who also worked at Taco Bell.

``She did what Audrey wanted to do. She lived her own life,'' Mickle said. ``She was outgoing and kind of her own person and was happy about her life in Charlotte.''

She was the youngest daughter of Broughton and Mae Helen Spain. And friends in the Bayboro community, on S.C. 410 near Loris, said she was a sister to many families.

``She was so mature, strong and self-assured,'' said Elwood Goff, 46, a cousin. ``No one would think that she would allow someone in her apartment unless she knew them well and trusted them.

``Out of all the daughters, she was probably the one who could really take care of herself. She was small but big in the heart,'' said Goff, a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where Spain was a choir member and an usher.

The Sunday before she was killed, Spain had been at his house for a cook-out.

``It changed things in Bayboro because this was the first major incident that hit this community,'' Goff said. ``It made a lot of us really look at life because she was so young and just beginning to get out and make something of herself. Everybody was real proud of her . . . It scared some parents, especially of daughters who lived away.''

At the church, a college scholarship was established to honor Spain and other youth who had died in the community.

``It's for kids going to college as a way to encourage them and remember the other kids who are no longer with us,'' Goff said. ``Whatever we can get into that fund, we split it among the kids.''

SENTENCE BRINGS FAMILY A MEASURE OF PEACE- February 1997 article

When Mae Helen Spain learned Henry Wallace Jr. was sentenced to die for raping and killing her daughter, she cried and walked to her daughter's grave.

``Audrey, now everything is over with. You can rest,'' Spain said beside her daughter's grave.

Audrey Spain, a native of the Bayboro community near Loris, was one of nine women Wallace raped and killed between 1992 and 1994. Wallace received a death sentence in each case.

Wallace, 31, was convicted three weeks ago of 27 felonies -- including nine counts of first-degree murder and eight counts of first-degree rape -- and two misdemeanors.

Spain was the second-youngest child of Mae Helen and Broughton Spain. Mae Helen Spain is a nurse with InCare on U.S. 17 Bypass. Broughton ``Brock'' Spain works at Bell and Bell Pontiac Oldsmobile GMC Truck Inc. in Little River.

``(Wednesday) morning, before the lawyer called, I was driving and a bird hit my windshield, and this happened the day Audrey was murdered,'' Mae Helen Spain. ``I think the Lord was telling me that things were going to go our way.

``I'm glad everything is finally over with.''

Spain was killed in July 1993, within a few weeks of her 24th birthday. She had moved to Charlotte, N.C., after attending Horry-Georgetown Technical College.

The Spains' poinsettia-filled living room contains religious books, handmade crafts and pictures of their five children, especially Audrey Spain. One shows her modeling a black leather outfit accented with gold rhinestones. It was taken the weekend before her death.

``The holidays have not been the same. I miss mostly her being around,'' said Spain's brother, Terrence Spain, a senior at Green Sea Floyds High School.

``During the holidays she'd come here after she worked almost all night at Taco Bell,'' Mae Helen Spain said. ``She would slip home at night so in the morning we'd wake up and she'd be here. She had a way of brightening up the home with her smile. It was always a nice present for us to see her.''

A look through Audrey Spain's quilted scrapbook showed a young woman who practiced karate, had perfect attendance at Green Sea Floyd Middle School, graduated from the Finklea Career Center and attended Denmark Technical and Horry-Georgetown Technical colleges.

The murder investigation and trial were difficult for the family. Broughton Spain said the trial caused his blood pressure to soar periodically. As a result he's had to take more than a month off from his job in Little River.

``During the trial, (Wallace) was smiling like nothing was happening,'' he said. ``He was smiling and writing like he didn't care that he killed my baby.''

At times, Mae Helen Spain would have to leave the courtroom.

``I was sitting and cold chills would just run through me. It was rough.''

The Spains and several people in the community believe the death penalty is the appropriate punishment for Wallace.

``I wouldn't want to have him on the street again hurting anyone else,'' Broughton Spain said.

Among the worries the parents had was whether Audrey suffered and whether her soul was at peace.

``I'm concerned about her soul and have always been concerned about it,'' Mae Helen Spain said. ``But now, I feel like she's gone to a better place.''

Shortly after Spain's death, the family developed negative feelings toward law enforcement officials in Charlotte who were slow to connect the pattern of the killings: young, black women.

``At one time, I hated Charlotte with a passion . . . because I felt like the policemen could have done more than what they were doing,'' Mae Helen Spain said. ``We kept praying that whoever was doing this to these women would be caught so he wouldn't hurt nobody else.''

In a handwritten-letter thanking the community for their support, the Spains wrote:

``One never knows how much he or she counts until tragedy strikes. . . . Not only have we received encouraging words and prayers, but financial support has also poured in. Without the support of friends like many of you, our desire to keep abreast of legal proceedings would not have been possible.

``Finally we can come to some kind of closure in our minds about this tragic event. Thank you so much for thinking of us.''

May Miss Audrey rests in peace and in power.

It has been 10 years to the day since the untimely passing of the King of Pop.  The evil media slandered him with lies and evil, but we know the real truth.  He's a gentle soul, not the "beast" the junk food media made him out to be.

Here's another side of Michael Jackson that is not presented in the junk food media.  He's the most charitable celebrities of all time.  He's been gone for 10 years and his legacy still lives on through many charities in his name as well as his music.

Here's another perspective on Michael Jackson's legacy by MrSuperboy:

May he rests in power.

Stupidity Should Be Classified As A Disease! [NSFW]

Hello.
Hey, once again we're doing another edition of "You Can't Fix Stupid."

You notice that white people often love to touch or interact with dangerous animals. Why would anyone in their right mind keep an animal known to be unpredictable and willing to kill if cornered?

The latest "You Can't Fix Stupid" story happened in Illinois and it involved the state police and Bloomington Police citing a man for allowing his exotic pet get loose and attack a woman and her child.

Some asshole owned a caracal, an African-East Asian form of a bobcat. The animal was wild.

It mauled the woman and her child.

Onlooker decided to film it and post it on social media. The woman in the background told the idiot to stop filming and call 911.

The law had to put down the animal after it tried to attack them.

In the clip, the man is heard saying in shock: "What the hell is this thing? This is just walking around out there."

The man said "It's a bobcat or something?"

The woman said it best to those who decide to film instead of calling the law.

The woman screamed, "Well call 911!"

Police responded to the corner of Locust Street and said that the wild cat tried to attack a cop and animal resource officer.

The cop shot the wild cat and it died of its injuries.

The mother and child were being treated at a local hospital for injuries they gotten from the wild animal. The animal could be trained to capture birds but in the wild, it's extremely dangerous and vicious when cornered. It is known to attack small animals and children.

The owner of this animal was cited for this. He will face a public nuisance violation, having wildlife without proper clearance from state and federal authorities, having a dangerous animal in city limits, failure to keep wildlife in proper enclosure.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The charges could carry up to a year in the iron college. Who knows if he's is allowed to keep anymore animals in his custody. But he's certainly going to get a bill from the woman's medical provider.
