Anti-gay pundit pleased at 'admission' that AIDS is a 'gay disease'

PageOneQ | Anti-gay pundit pleased at 'admission' that AIDS is a 'gay disease'
Today, right now, more than 45 percent of African-American gay and bi men in key urban areas are infected with HIV, with a 33 percent increase in new diagnoses among our brothers under age 30 over the past six years. Today, right now, African Americans are nearly 10 times more likely than white people to be diagnosed with AIDS.

The response — internal to our community and external — is appallingly racist. Internally, when these numbers come out, the “established” gay community seems to have a collective shrug as if this isn’t our problem. Folks, with 70 percent of the people in this country living with HIV being gay or bi, we cannot deny that HIV is a gay disease. We have to own that and face up to that.

Even more disgusting is the response of our government. Of the 129 interventions developed and approved by the CDC to address HIV in the African-American community, only one has been designed for gay black men. Twenty-six years into the epidemic and only one out of 129 addresses the group of people most affected by HIV. And, on top of that, funding for meaningful and honest prevention programs has been systematically excised from the federal budget. If these things don’t prove that our government considers the lives of gay black men utterly expendable, I don’t know what does.

--Matt Foreman, outgoing executive director of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force

The above was part of Matt Foreman's State of the Movement address given on February 8, 2008 at the Creating Change conference in Detroit. The second paragraph, in particular, is all but a victory of rhetoric for Concerned Women for America's Matt Barber.

"Because of their war on semantics and being in such denial and not focusing on the reality of the dangers of their behaviors," said Barber to Cybercast News Service, "many people have contracted the disease."

"Who knows," Barber adds, "how many lives could have been saved had homosexual activists been honest about the dangers of the lifestyle they choose to engage in."

While HIV, as an opportunistic infection, does not discriminate on who it infects, gay men who practice unprotected sex are at particular risk of becoming infected and spreading the virus. Early cases of HIV were given names such as "gay cancer" and "gay-related immune deficiency" due to gay men being the first major demographic affected.

"It's extremely encouraging," says Barber in a recent press release, "to see Matt Foreman, a homosexual activist who has for so long been in denial about the dangers of the lifestyle he has promoted, publicly coming to terms with the undeniable perils of that lifestyle."

"I only hope," he continues, "he will now stop promoting homosexual conduct and push for other liberal elites, especially those running our public schools, to do the same. Educators must truthfully address the 'gay' lifestyle's potentially deadly consequences."

Phony Faintings At Obama Rallies - MEDVED :: MAXINE | The News is NowPublic.com

Phony Faintings At Obama Rallies - MEDVED :: MAXINE | The News is NowPublic.com: "Today, during the second hour of the Michael Medved show, Michael alleged that he suspected that faintings had been staged at at least six Obama campaign rallies.

He felt that after seeing and hearing several video's showing the faints he suspected that they were staged because:

1) The 'faint' would always happened next to the stage.

2) Barack Obama showed calm and stated the same words over and over in each of the six occurrances - 'Make some space for her. Make some space for her.'

3) The 'faintee' was ALWAYS a woman.

4) Each of the occurrences (6) when shown together all felt the same and process like.

We, at MAXINE would like to see what Michael Medved had seen ... we were only left with Michael's radio account and the playing of the audio of a recent Obama campaign stop from Santa Barbara, California."

Northern Illinois Campus Shooting

Five dead, including gunman, in US university shooting
by Mira Oberman Thu Feb 14, 9:03 PM ET

CHICAGO (AFP) - A black-clad gunman turned a university lecture into a Valentine's Day massacre Thursday, killing four people before turning the gun on himself in the latest episode of US school violence, authorities said.

Armed with a shotgun and two handguns, he calmly stepped out from behind the curtain at the front of a packed auditorium just minutes before a geography class ended at Northern Illinois University, officials and witnesses said.
"It started and ended within a matter of seconds," university police chief Donald Grady said at a press conference outside this Midwestern US city.
"We have no apparent motive at this time," Grady said. "The suspect killed himself on the stage."
Grady would not identify the four victims or confirm reports that a teacher was among the 18 people shot.

Witnesses said the shooter, described as a white male around six feet (1.8 meters) tall, said nothing as he opened fire.

"He was aiming towards the crowd but I don't think he was aiming at a specific person," a witness named Sheila told WBBM radio. "He was quiet. He just stood on the stage in front of everybody and just started shooting."

"I saw him holding the gun and it was huge. I thought it was fake and then I realized he was really shooting at people and I got down," she said. "I saw a lot of blood. I have blood all over my clothes."

Officials of the 112-year-old university 65 miles (105 kilometers) west of Chicago gave out few details of the incident.

"It has been confirmed that there has been a shooting on campus and several people have been taken away by ambulance," its website said.

A spokesman for nearby Kishwaukee Community Hospital earlier said 17 wounded victims had been brought in.

Students described now-familiar scenes of panic in the fifth school shooting in the United States in the last week.

"I saw a lot of confusion," Dominique Broxton, 22, told the Chicago Tribune, describing the scene from her dorm room. "Students were running. People really didn't know what was going on."
The shooting came 10 months after 32 students and faculty were shot down by a mentally disturbed student at Virginia Tech University in the deadliest massacre ever at a US school.

Chicago has long been noted for the Valentine's Day Massacre of February 14, 1929, when seven people were executed by machine-gun, in a Mafia killing during the city's gangster heyday.
Northern Illinois University, chartered in 1895, is a teaching and research institution with a student enrollment of more than 25,000 and nearly 1,300 teachers. It has 862 international students from 88 nations.

Broxton said she could see two wounded students from her dorm room.
"The ambulance took away two students on the ground right outside my dorm," she said. "I don't know them. They looked bloody. Where I am right now, there are a lot of police, at least a dozen. There are police cars and trucks everywhere."

"There is an intercom system inside the dorm. Someone came on and stated that someone had been caught. They said they caught the shooter and that we should remain calm and stay in our rooms."

Cross Post from Black and Missing: Do you know Phylicia Moore?

For a few days now we have been hearing about Natalee Holloway and the new developments in her case. But a similar situation happened last year with another American teen: Phylicia Moore. Have you heard of her? Unfortunately most people haven't. So today I'm going to do a flashback post. I have not posted on her before because I'm just finding this out myself. After about an hour of searching, I finally found an article from June 2007 that I think will give you guys a good understanding of what went on with the case.

When Lola Moore thinks back to the day her daughter and two dozen of her classmates said their goodbyes as they prepared to leave for a trip to Ghana, one moment is especially haunting. "The last thing the chaperones said was, `Don't worry — we'll take good care of her,'" Moore recalled Friday as she fought back tears. "And she was the only one who didn't come home."

Six weeks after 18-year-old Phylicia Moore's body was discovered at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool in the Ghanaian capital of Accra, Lola and Douglas Moore are demanding answers to questions they say have not been adequately answered by the initial investigation in Ghana or by school officials in Teaneck.

Their anger stems from two beliefs: that their daughter's death was not an accident, and that Phylicia would still be alive had the trip's chaperones been more vigilant in monitoring the students.

"She was stolen from us," Lola Moore said in an interview at the office of Nancy Lucianna, an attorney representing the family.

Lucianna filed a legal notice Friday informing the Teaneck School District of the Moores' intent to sue for negligence in their daughter's death.

They also have been pushing for the FBI to investigate, an effort aided by Rep. Steve Rothman, D-N.J. The U.S. ambassador to Ghana, Pamela E. Bridgewater, told the Moores in a letter Friday that Ron Nolan, the FBI's legal attache assigned to Lagos, Nigeria, would travel to Ghana next week and serve as a liaison to a task force formed by Ghanaian authorities to review Moore's death.

Under international law, the FBI cannot be formally involved in the investigation until it receives an official request from the Ghanaian government. The FBI had not received such a request as of Friday.

The details of the final hours of Phylicia Moore's life are frustratingly incomplete. She was seen leaving the hotel swimming pool alone around 10:30 p.m. April 15. About 11 hours later, her body was discovered in the pool, still clad in a tank top and shorts with a bathing suit underneath.

An autopsy performed in Ghana found no foul play, pending the results of toxicology tests. A separate autopsy performed in the United States for the Moores concluded that Phylicia's body had not been in the water for a significant amount of time.

Douglas Moore rejects the notion that his daughter, who could tread water but was not a swimmer, would have been horsing around in the pool — particularly at the deep end, where her body was found.

He is troubled that Phylicia's absence apparently was not noticed by the chaperones, nor was it reported to them by the students, some of whom were awake until the wee hours of the morning while the chaperones slept.

"Most certainly there was negligence," Douglas Moore said.

Teaneck High School Principal Angela Davis was out of the office Friday and could not be reached for comment. School district officials have said they support an FBI investigation into Phylicia's death.

The Moores claim Ghanaian authorities botched the investigation by failing to interview more than a handful of students and chaperones before the group continued its tour delivering supplies to schools and to an AIDS orphanage. The group returned to Accra before flying home, but that gave authorities little time to conclude an investigation.

"I feel it's important that in order to solve this, everybody should be interviewed, not just a few people," Douglas Moore said. "That goes for the people connected to the hotel, any visitors, all the students and the chaperones. Then they will most likely get a handle on what happened to my daughter. But to just let it go for a month like this, that's no good."

For now, the last images of Phylicia are found on a video shot by a student on the bus to the airport. She is wearing a pink sweat shirt and flashing what her mother called her "signature smile." She looks giddy with anticipation as the videographer asks her how she is feeling.

"I feel good," she says. "I'm leaving my parents. I'm excited. I'm scared I forgot something.

[Source]

Phylicia Moore, a Teaneck HS honors student, went to Ghana on a goodwill mission to donate books to an orphanage and assist children suffering from AIDS with 23 other students and nine chaperones. This was a dream trip for Moore, who saved for months and took an after-school job at a local Bed Bath & Beyond to pay the cost of the trip. She was a well-rounded student with so much to offer.

Nearly a year since the above article was written, it appears that there is no new information in the case. But thank God for people like Congressman Steve Rothman (D-Fair Lawn) who pushed to make something happen. On December 3rd, 2007, he introduced Phylicia’s Law (in memory of Phylicia Moore), a bill that require public schools to have safety plans and security procedures in place for school-run, overnight, off-premises field trips.

“Every child’s life is precious so when there are reasonable steps that we can take to better protect our young people, then I believe we should take them. It is not unreasonable to put safety plans and procedures in place before a trip occurs. This will help ensure that all involved – the schools, the chaperones, the students, and parents – know what their individual roles and responsibilities are on a trip and what will happen should tragedy strike,” said Rothman.

Phylicia’s Law says that at a minimum a safety plan should address policies on curfews, room checks, and chaperone qualifications, and emergency procedures to be followed in the case of serious injury or death. However, school districts, who know their own schools and students best, will have full discretion to set the specific requirements in a plan as they see fit. Parents will see the policies before approving a trip and can then determine whether they feel that it is safe for their child to go.

You can go here to read the full text of Phylicia's Law. There's also a website where you can find a petition created for those who support Phylicia's Law. Please show your support by signing it and passing the word on to your family and friends.

To further show your support you can donate to the Phylicia Moore Scholarship Fund in her honor.

Keep Phylicia's memory alive and push for more exposure and investigation on her story!

Aborigines remain the country's poorest and most disadvantaged minority.

“We apologize for the laws and policies of successive parliaments and governments that have inflicted profound grief, suffering and loss on these our fellow Australians,” the apology motion says."

Women risk assault with clothing choice: MP - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Women risk assault with clothing choice: MP - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation): "A South Australian MP has told parliament that women who wear clothing with provocative slogans risk sexual assault.

Former Liberal, now independent MP Bob Such made his comments to the State Parliament during debate on rape reform legislation.

Dr Such believes that some women may be inadvertently sending a wrong message by the clothing they wear, such as t-shirts.

'What clothing you wear or don't wear, none of that justifies any form of sexual assault,' he added.

'Some of these young women, they might think it's fun to put that message on but I don't think it helps the situation to be encouraging people out there who don't need much encouragement to do what they shouldn't do.'"

Victims of the Freeway Phantom

In 1971-72, a killer called the Freeway Phantom terrorized the young black female population of Washington, DC. He was never caught. He raped and strangled at least 6, discarding the victims near I-295. (Hence the name). It is hoped that this video might generate even one clue that might solve these tragic cases. Ridwah Laher: Hamilton Faces Racist Abuse

Fatima

I am not a fan of Formula One racing but I started paying some attention when Lewis Hamilton shook up the rafters and brought some real excitement to the sport.

Hamilton, a 23 year old Black Briton, has however angered some Spanish fans who support his Spaniard team mate and rival, Fernando Alonso.

So what is a bigotted Spanish fan to do when your hero is left looking quite ordinary by a brilliant Black kid?

Well taunt him of course. And what better way to taunt him than by showing up in blackface and wooly wigs with shirts that read "Hamilton's Familly" (sic).

These bigots showed up on Saturday as Hamilton was testing at the Montmelo circuit in Barcelona.

Sad huh?

Hamilton says he is saddened by this behaviour. But he is not alone in facing this kind of racist abuse.

Sports figures who are not white are often racially abused at sporting events in Spain.

Last year there was a spate of racist insults at football (soccer) matches.

La guayabita: Why Afro-Colombians Oppose the Colombia FTA

La guayabita: Why Afro-Colombians Oppose the Colombia FTA: "Marino Cordoba, founder of the Association of Internally Displaced Afro-Colombians (AFRODES), submitted this post as a guest blogger for The Hill.

The U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement is considered a non-starter in the U.S. Congress because the country is the world’s deadliest for union activists. Less known, but equally disturbing is the systematic violence now confronting Afro-Colombians.

African descendants comprise 26% of Colombia’s population. As with other African descendants, we face racial discrimination which results in economic hardships far worse than those experienced by the average Colombian. However in Colombia, a vibrant 1980s civil rights movement won full recognition of our cultural rights and collective ownership and community control of our territories and natural resources. The 1991 Colombian Constitution and the landmark Law 70 explicitly enshrine these rights and recognize official democratic Afro-Colombian governance structures, similar to those of your Indian tribes."

The Unbearable Whiteness of Fashion

Thanks, Ann.

Each year, Black women contribute to fashion and beauty industries in the amount of 40 billion dollars. We go to malls outside our communities to buy the latest in fashion. Are we going to believe the oft-repeated lie in the fashion industry that they can't hire a Black model because we're not profitable to the world?

The fashion and beauty industries are 75 years behind when it comes to race. People of Color make up 33% of America's population. Yet the fashion industry's runway and ad campaigns remained lily-white.

What about modeling agencies? Most of the modeling agencies are located in relatively affluent white areas and often dispatch modeling scouts to mainly white shopping centers and malls instead of cities and neighborhoods of Color to recruit models. What the industry wants to project is a false lily-white image of America to the world and most people fall for it.

The faux idea that white women are the epitome of beauty, virtue, and affluence is being exported to the far corners of the earth along with hateful images of Black women. This racist/misogynistic duality of women has harmed women in America and the world. The fashion industry wants to project the image of white models so that brainwashed and gullible public buy into the peculiarly American notion of the cult of white womanhood.

This is what the industry wants and prefer and want it to continue because the industry, like everything else is soak completely in the oil of racism/classism.

AIDS Created as BIO-Warfare!

AIDS Created as BIO-Warfare!: "The first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, Wangari Maatha of Kenya, spoke out on the AIDS virus saying it was man-made and deliberately created as a weapon of bio-warfare.

'In fact it (the HIV virus) is created by a scientist for biological warfare,” she said. 'Why has there been so much secrecy about AIDS? When you ask where did the virus come from, it raises a lot of flags. That makes me suspicious,” Maathai said.

The Kenya based East Africa Standard reported that in response to questions from Asian and European media, she said, 'I want to dedicate the prize the African woman. I want to hold and embrace her. She has suffered so much and I feel this is an honor to her.

'Although I am a biologist, I have not done any research. I may not be able to say who developed the (HIV) virus but it was meant to wipe out the Black race,' she continued.

'When she first blamed the HIV/Aids on 'some sadistic scientists, Professor Maathai kicked a storm, leaving some experts outraged and others supporting her,' the Standard reported."

Is the term “Canadian” the new code word for racist references to black people? « The Frame Problem

I read an interesting article in this week’s newsletter of the Clarington Durham Regional Humanists. Apparently the term “Canadian” is being used by some in the Texas court system as a safe code word for “Black people”. Apparently this usage of “Canadian” is being used a bit more broadly than just be Texan court workers, as this usage of the word is the 4th listed definition of “Canadian” on Urban Dictionary, and has received 316 thumbs up ratings versus 192 thumbs downs.

Here is the definition offered at Urban Dictionary:

Expression for black people used by whites as “code” when they want to refer to blacks in a semi-derogatory manner without being detected in a group of people

“Jeezus, look at all the Canadians out tonight.”

Tags for this definition include “spooks”, “porch monkeys”, “jigs”, and “Africans”.

Ophelia Devore 1922-

Ophelia DeVore is considered by many to have been the first woman of color to become a fashion model in the United States. She was born in Edgefield, South Carolina in 1922, the daughter of parents who were of European, African-American and Native-American heritage.

As a teenager, Ophelia was sent to New York to live with relatives. While there she developed an interest in modeling. She attended the Vogue School of Modeling, an institution which excluded woman of color. The school assumed she was a white girl with a suntan. In a 2002 interivew with Kerry Burke of the Columbia News Service, she talked about how naive she had been, thinking she'd been accepted for who she was. "I didn't know they didn't know...I never pretended to be anything I wasn't. I just sold talent," she said.

After modeling for two years she no longer felt the work was challenging. Like other people of color in early 20th Century America, Ophelia DeVore had grown up watching the media's negative protrayal of them, and she wanted to do something to help change it. She and a few friends started the Grace Del Marco Modeling Agency to sell the idea of black modeling to the advertising industry. Shortly after that she began the Ophelia DeVore School of Self Development and Modeling. Thousands of upon thousands of people have benefited from these two organizations, including such big names as Diahann Carroll, Cicely Tyson, Richard Roundtree, and Camille Cosby. Many success stories, indeed, but two of the earliest occurred in 1959 and 1960, when two of Ms DeVore's models were crowned Queen of The Cannes Film Festival.

Ms. DeVore attended New York's prestigious Hunter College High School and majored in mathematics at New York University. In addition to her modeling businesses, she was a fashion columnist for the Pittsburgh Courier. In 1970 she became the publisher of the Columbus Times, after its previous publisher, her husband, had passed away. She has served as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, has received appointments to Presidential committees and has been the recipient of hundreds of awards

Chris Matthews: Condi Rice Could Counter Obama’s “Ethnic Excitement”

Crooks and Liars » Chris Matthews: Condi Rice Could Counter Obama’s “Ethnic Excitement”: "Chris Matthews as been sticking his foot in his mouth (more so than usual) a lot this primary season and during MSNBC’s coverage of the State of the Union address tonight, he stepped in it again. Tweety made the suggestion that because Barack Obama has created an ethnic excitement in America, if he doesn’t get the nomination Condi Rice would make a great VP choice for a GOP candidate because black people might still be hopeful of putting an African American in higher government:

Matthews:”…And I have to think given the ethnic, you know, excitement - let’s call it American excitement about Barack Obama. If he doesn’t make it to the nomination a lot of people on the Republican side might say, well why don’t we try do something to offset that and take advantage of the hope of having an African American at a high level of government.”

This is wrong on so many levels, and certainly does nothing to end the media meme that race and gender are driving this primary season. Somehow, I don’t think Condi would motivate a lot of Democrats to vote for a Republican this year. He’s also echoing Robert Novak on this one too."

Hundreds turn out for ‘Free John White’ rally

Hundreds turn out for ‘Free John White’ rally RIVERHEAD, Long Island, N.Y. (FinalCall.com) - Chanting “Free John White!” “Free John White!” hundreds of demonstrators, Black, White and Latino, answered a call from the Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network to show up in front of the Suffolk County courthouse to protest the guilty verdict against John White, 54, of Miller Place, Long Island.

Mr. White faces a maximum of 15 years in jail after being convicted of manslaughter in the second-degree. His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 21. The father and husband was convicted on Dec. 22 in the “accidental” shooting death of Daniel Cicciaro. He remains free on $100,000 bail; and his defense team is preparing an appeal.

“We come today as one community, because if they are allowed to invade and violate the property of one of us, then they will be allowed to invade and trespass on the property belonging to any of us,” Rev. Sharpton told the Jan. 5 gathering.

Mr. White, a construction foreman, has maintained that the shooting was unintentional, saying the 17-year-old lunged for the handgun, and it went off.

During the three-week trial, Mr. White’s lawyers maintained he felt threatened by five White teens who invaded his property after 11 p.m. on a week night, threatening to harm his son, Aaron, and rape his wife, Sonia. The lawyers told the jury that the drunken youths were reminiscent of southern lynch mobs.

Rev. Sharpton noted that police only focused on the shooting, ignoring the culpability of the “drunken White teens,” who according to testimony used racial epithets. “What amazes me,” said the longtime activist, “is how you start an investigation halfway after the events of the evening was over.” Suffolk County law enforcement officials did not start their investigation at the moment the teens “decided to trespass and menace the White family,” he said.

While this started as a drive to get cases of missing African American Women and other women of color more air time on cable and news it is now a mission to get missing women of every ethnic group, race, or religion more air time by asking Cable Stations to devote just 30 seconds of air time per hour to the story of a missing woman. That would be 168 woman a week and 8736 women a year that would get at least some coverage on a national level. Please help me do this by signing my petion which wil be sent to CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. The may ignore 1 or 100 but they can't ignore thousands.

White Women Replacing Black Women In Movie Roles

Angelina Jolie as Marianne Pearl in "A Mighty Heart"

Is white the new black?
By Orville Lloyd Douglas

Angelina Jolie is the "new" black these days. From making Africa her new crusade to adopting an African daughter and talking about racial harmony on CNN, Jolie's so-called altruism is her way to profit from the image of blackness.

The new black is also white actors like Jolie in blackface. Jolie is currently starring in the biopic A Mighty Heart as Mariane Pearl, the widow of murdered Wall Street Journal writer Daniel Pearl. Jolie is white, and the real Mariane Pearl is of mixed heritage. (According to news reports, her father is Dutch-Jewish and her mother was Cuban-black-Hispanic-Chinese.) In the film, Jolie's skin is darkened to appear more African and she is wearing a kinky wig.

Some people argue that since Pearl is of mixed heritage and not dark-skinned, Jolie is acceptable in the role. However, the symbolism of blackface is not about whether a white actor takes on a dark skin tone or light. It is the implicit message being sent that black women in Hollywood–which is slow to capitalize on the bankable quality of black female stars–can be replaced by white women. This certainly isn't because of a lack of talent.

Movies aren't just entertainment. There are cultural values embedded in the subtext of films. Movie stars are mythologies of hierarchy created by publicists, studios, and news media.

The social constructions of the star-system archetype arose from the days of slavery. Hollywood's consistent message is that black women are less profitable than white women. The standard by which North American women of all races are measured is the white female: feminine, beautiful, fragile, and perfect. By contrast, Queen Latifah's mammy performance in the 2002 film Chicago as Matron Mama Morton and her 2003 Bringing Down the House role portray black women as aggressive, hostile, and unattractive.

The last major dramatic film for a black actress was the interracial drama Monster's Ball. Although Halle Berry won an Oscar, it was degrading: Berry's character, Leticia Musgrove, was depicted as sexually loose, the aggressor in the interracial sex scene, with the line "Make me feel good" delivered with a sneer.

Such scenes shattered some of the respect the black community had for Berry. By contrast in A Mighty Heart, Angelina Jolie's character is a pillar of strength, a woman demanding to know what happened to her husband.

Since Hollywood is concerned about maximizing its profits, movies must be palatable to a mass market. Jolie was cast as A Mighty Heart's female lead because she is considered an international draw, not for racial accuracy.

Black feminist bell hooks points out in Outlaw Culture, her groundbreaking book on films in pop culture, that we are controlled by a "White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy". Hooks believes we must be "enlightened witnesses" and be cognizant that we are conditioned to accept whiteness as the centre of the universe.

Black women have a long history of being typecast in film primarily as sex objects or maids. A Mighty Heart was the chance for a black actress to shine in a film that showcased the female lead as a three-dimensional person with complex emotions.

A more serious issue is the paucity of leading roles for black women in Hollywood. A Mighty Heart also tackles the rarely portrayed interracial relationship, in this case an interracial marriage between a black woman and a white man. Jolie's presence in the film is a hindrance as it obscures and ultimately eliminates the real Mariane Pearl altogether. (Women have also asked why Mariane Pearl would allow a white woman to take the female lead in A Mighty Heart.)

Jolie consistently portrays herself as a Hollywood liberal who is against racism. Yet her superficial insensitivity to the plight of black women suggests an unwillingness to be challenged about her own values. What will she teach her daughter about white cultural domination?

My interview with Nationalist Movement leader

The Nationalist Movement a hate group claiming to be speaking for and representing the American "majority" is having/had a march in Jena La. on Martin Luther king Day to ask that:

The Jena 6 all be jailed
The abolishment of the Martin Luther King Day Holiday
The elimination of civil rights laws.

Please listen to my interview with Richard Barret the general counsel of the Nationalist Movement as he explains why they are having this march on Martin Luther King Day and what they hope to accomplish. Mr. Barret also finds time to take shots at Al Sharpton.

This is one of my hardest interviews I have ever done. In order to let the ignorance of racism shine through I had to bite my tounge and let Mr.Barret speak freely so that he would make the point of the ignorance of being racist without me saying a word. Please click the link below to listen.

Stepha Henry Murdered, Man Arrested

Man charged with murder in Stepha Henry’s disappearance
BY TRACY-ANN TAYLOR

The New York City Police Department this week arrested a suspect in the death of Stepha Henry, who has been missing since May 29, 2007.Kendrick Lincoln Williams was arrested on Jan. 15, police said. He was charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence, even though Henry’s body has not yet been recovered.Miami-Dade Police spokesman Roy Rutland said a significant amount of blood – which a forensic analysis determined to be Henry’s – was found in Williams’ Acura Integra, leaving police to believe that she is dead.

Henry, 22, and her sister, Shola, were on vacation during the Memorial Day 2007 weekend. The two sisters were staying with their aunt, Carletha Clarke, in Miami Gardens. The arrest came after a team of detectives, including two from Florida, found Williams asleep in a car near a Brooklyn pier, police said. Authorities believe he had been living in the vehicle.

Police said they had forensic evidence, including blood from Henry found in the black sedan that Williams was driving the night Henry disappeared. At a news conference, Jim Loftus, an investigator in the Miami-Dade Police Department, said enough blood was found in the sedan to conclude Henry had been killed.“No one could survive with that loss of blood,” he said. Of the missing body, Loftus said, “We have the hopes of recovering it.”

Henry’s mother, Sylvia Henry, maintained hope Tuesday that her daughter was still alive.“There's a God above, and I will see my daughter,” she said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

She told the AP that she “thanked God” when Miami detectives called her Tuesday morning to tell her about the arrest.

Authorities said Williams and Henry were introduced by mutual friends at a barbecue in Miramar, then met later at a nightclub in Sunrise. It was unclear where Williams was living at the time. Henry was last seen on video footage taken at Peppers Cafe in Sunrise in the early hours of May 29, 2007. Video footage shows Henry at the nightclub. She has not been seen or heard from since.

The night before her disappearance, Henry told family members she was getting a ride to the night club from someone in a black Acura. Williams, 32, told investigators that he had borrowed the car and then left the club early without Henry. But, Rutland said, the investigation showed that Williams had purchased the vehicle prior to coming to Florida. He declined to comment on where the car was found.

According to the Miami-Dade police report, Williams was apprehended while he slept inside a vehicle in a parking lot at Canarsie Pier in the Jamaica Bay area of Brooklyn. He was arrested without incident by the New York Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service. The homicide division of the Miami-Dade police department is continuing its investigation. They say Williams will be extradited to Florida to face trial.

Stepha Henry graduated in 2006 with honors from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. She planned to become an attorney focusing on either criminal law or immigration law.

Henry’s mother spent the latter half of 2007 raising the public’s awareness about her daughter’s disappearance by passing out fliers and speaking to the media.

News: New DNA Methods Could Throw More Convictions Into Doubt (Seattle Weekly)

News: New DNA Methods Could Throw More Convictions Into Doubt (Seattle Weekly): "Arrested six months after the rape on an unrelated charge of indecent exposure, Bradford claims police interrogators told him at the time (falsely) that they had his DNA from the rape scene. Today they do have DNA from the scene. But it's not Bradford's.

A new genetic profile using advanced technology shows it was another, unknown male whose telltale deoxyribonucleic acid was found on electrical tape stuck to a mask that the rapist used to cover the eyes of his 25-year-old victim. The appeals court agreed that had the testing technique—which can construct a genetic profile from much smaller DNA samples than previous methods—been available when Bradford was tried in 1996 and the results presented to a jury, the outcome could have changed."

Let's not let Andrew Coumo "Shuck & Jive"

Let's not let Andrew Coumo Shuck and Jive
By George Cook http://www.letstalkhonestly.com/

I'm sure by now you have heard about Andrew Coumo's idiotic comments in which he used the phrase "Shuck and Jive". This is racist at worst and just plain insensitive at best. The exact quote is below:

Andrew Coumo's original comment

".....It’s not a TV crazed race. Frankly you can’t buy your way into it. You can’t shuck and jive at a press conference. All those moves you can make with the press don’t work when you’re in someone’s living room.”

Andrew Coumo's explanation of that statement to Eric Kleefeld of TPM

"It was never about Obama in the first place," Cuomo told me of the use of the phrase, which he said he was using "as a synonym for 'bob and weave."

What Coumo meant to say:

"You can never prove it was about Obama. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Besides Nig**** are too sensitive anyway."

This is for those who want to act "special" and pretend they don't know what Andrew Coumo was up to when he used the phrase "shuck and jive". Here is the definition from encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com

Shuckin' and jivin' (or shucking and jiving) is a slang term primarily used by African Americans. It refers to the speech and behavioral mechanisms adopted in the presence of an authority figure [1]. Shuckin' and jivin' usually involves clever lies and impromptu storytelling, used to one-up an opponent or avoid punishment [2]. Such behavior is believed to have originated in the era of slavery [3].

Also just in case you want to act even more special and pretend that you had heard that phrase recently or think it is commonly used then you probably still wear leisure suits and think "Three's Company" is still a #1 show.

In my opinion Andrew Coumo would have never uttered those insensitive words if the conversation was not focused on a black man.

To the rest of you who actually live in the 21st Century I say lets's email Andrew Coumo and fill his inbox with our disapproval especially since I'm sure Barack Obama will take the high road and basically just let it go. Well I am not running for President so I can take any road I want.

SYNTHETIC BIOLOGICAL AGENTS

There are two things about the biological agent field I would like to mention. One is the possibility of technological surprise. Molecular biology is a field that is advancing very rapidly and eminent biologists believe that within a period of 5 to 10 years it would be possible to produce a synthetic biological agent, an agent that does not naturally exist and for which no natural immunity could have been acquired.
MR. SIKES. Are we doing any work in that field?
DR. MACARTHUR. We are not.
MR. SIKES. Why not? Lack of money or lack of interest?
DR. MACARTHUR. Certainly not lack of interest.
MR. SIKES. Would you provide for our records information on what would be required, what the advantages of such a program would be, the time and the cost involved?
DR. MACARTHUR. We will be very happy to.
(The information follows:)

The dramatic progress being made in the field of molecular biology led us to investigate the relevance of this field of science to biological warfare. A small group of experts considered this matter and provided the following observations:
1. All biological agents up the the present time are representatives of naturally occurring disease, and are thus known by scientists throughout the world. They are easily available to qualified scientists for research, either for offensive or defensive purposes.
2. Within the next 5 to 10 years, it would probably be possible to make a new infective microorganism which could differ in certain important aspects from any known disease-causing organisms. Most important of these is that it might be refractory to the immunological and therapeutic processes upon which we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious disease.
3. A research program to explore the feasibility of this could be completed in approximately 5 years at a total cost of $10 million.
4. It would be very difficult to establish such a program. Molecular biology is a relatively new science. There are not many highly competent scientists in the field. Almost all are in university laboratories, and they are generally adequately supported from sources other than DOD. However, it was considered possible to initiate an adequate program through the National Academy of Sciences - National Research Council (NAS-NRC).
The matter was discussed with the NAS-NRC, and tentative plans were plans were made to initiate the program. However decreasing funds in CB, growing criticism of the CB program, and our reluctance to involve the NAS-NRC in such a controversial endeavor have led us to postpone it for the past 2 years.
It is a highly controversial issue and there are many who believe such research should not be undertaken lest it lead to yet another method of massive killing of large populations. On the other hand, without the sure scientific knowledge that such a weapon is possible, and an understanding of the ways it could be done, there is little that can be done to devise defensive measures. Should an enemy develop it, there is little doubt that this is an important area of potential military technological inferiority in which there is no adequate research program.

The Benefits of joining a hate group

The Benefits of joining a Hate Group
By George Cook http://www.letstalkhonestly.com

You know what? I think racist are catching a bad rap here in America. Now I write this as an African American. Just because they hate doesn't make them bad people. I mean they may just be looking for companionship or need a hug.

I mean if you stop and think about it there are benefits to joining a group for the sole purpose of hating others.

What can those be, you ask?

Well here are 10:

1. Many hate groups are Christian based so you can hate in the name of the Lord. Nothing like saying the Lord's Prayer and then looking for some black, jewish, hispanic, or gay guy to beat up. Let the church say Amen!

2.The fact that you only have a GED makes you one of the most educated people at a hate group meeting . Everybody likes to feel superior once and a while.

3.The meetings are mercifully short. It doesn't take long to say, "We hate everybody."

4. Hate Rock. Nothing like listening to someone sing about hating and killing all non whites...........in German.

5. You get two flags to choose from. the Nazi Flag or the Confederate Flag.

6. In some cases you get to wear a sheet and not have to say something dumb like, "Boo!"

7. You get to say, "Nooses are not a threat to dem dere N*****" with a straight face and nobody in the room makes fun of you.

8. You get to read cheesy pamphlets filled with small words and crudely drawn pictures that you can actually understand.

9. You get to talk badly about African Americans then complain that your college team can't win because it doesn't have enough of them.

10. You don't have to worry about being charged with a hate crime by the U.S. Justice Dept. I mean why would anyone see all the racist literature or the nazi tattoos and think you and your buddies beat up some black guy only because he was black.......

Now how can you look at all those great reasons and still think badly about people that join hate groups? Shame on you all!'

The Lives of the Victims of Serial Killer Henry Louis Wallace

Betty Jean Baucum

Brandi June Henderson

Audrey Ann Spain

Valencia M. Jumper

Caroline Love

Deborah Slaughter

Michelle Denise Stinson

The Victims of Henry Louis Wallace: Remember These Ladies :

May 27, 1992 Sharon Lavette Nance 32

When Sharon Nance left her aunt's house in May 1992, she wore a black dress and talked about going out with friends. When she didn't return and didn't call, aunt Linda Nance knew something was wrong. But it wasn't until a week later, when TV reports showed police finding a woman's body in a black dress, that the family knew how bad it was. She had been beaten and left beside Rozzelle's Ferry Road. For almost two years the Nance family struggled with a mysterious, violent end to a troubled life. This week police said Nance was a victim of Henry Louis Wallace. Her family knew her as a sweet woman who drew, wrote poetry and loved her son. ``Whatever she could do for somebody, she would do it,'' said Linda Nance. Relatives say she fell in with a bad crowd, started using drugs and got into trouble. Police records show she faced 61 charges between 1975 and 1992, including minor traffic offenses, assault, drug and weapon charges. She had recently been released from prison before she died, police said. On Monday, the family was glad the killer had been caught, puzzled about how Nance encountered Wallace, and angry that her legal troubles were being dredged up. ``Regardless of what she had ever done, she was the best person I ever knew,'' said sister Doris Nance.

* June 15, 1992 Caroline Love 20

Whenever Bojangles' manager Terry Bizakis was working the night shift, he'd try to schedule Caroline Love to work, too. ``She did her job - never gave me any problems,'' says Bizakis, now an area manager for the fast-food chain. ``She could stretch out and pick up a little extra and never really complain about it.'' Love was hired as a cashier at the Central Avenue Bojangles' in September 1989 and worked there until June 15, 1992. She finished her shift that day and, just after midnight, began walking home to her Darby Terrace apartment on Central Avenue, six blocks away. Her sister, Kathy Love, who also worked for Bojangles', reported her missing the following day. In her quiet way, Love was a character, says Bizakis. She'd stroll into work every day with her headset playing her favorite rap music. ``And there was no way you were going to get her into that restaurant on her day off. You had to get her before her hair appointment,'' says Bizakis. ``She'd spend four or five hours getting it done and you never knew what to expect.'' What Bizakis liked about her best, he says, was that she was always on time, even though she was going to school, too. ``She had good work ethics. Everybody liked her.'' ''Caroline was a real sweet kid. A steady, all-around good person and employee.''

* Shawna D. Hawk Age: 20 Found: Feb 19, 1993

On the way to the Junior Prom, Shawna Hawk's date told her she didn't need the fake fingernails. So, all dressed up in the fanciest clothes she'd ever worn, Hawk peeled off the nails and tossed them out the window of her date's Mercedes and onto Independence Boulevard. ``That was the epitome of Shawna,'' says her mother, Dee Sumpter. ``She was herself. Unpretentious.'' Sumpter found her daughter strangled, in a bathtub full of water at their home on Elon Street more than a year ago. Hawk was working at the Taco Bell at 3612 N. Sharon Amity Rd. She had been hired by Henry Louis Wallace, who police charged with murdering her and nine other women. Hawk also was a student at Central Piedmont Community College, studying to become a paralegal. She had worked part-time to help pay the family bills from the time she was 14, lying about her age to get a hired at McDonald's. ``This kid would bring her entire check to me and say, Mommy, here it is for meals.' The entire check - from the time she was 15,'' says Sumpter. She graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1991 where she was just a shy, unassuming student, who wasn't involved in student activities, her mother says. ``She was just a basic, everyday good kid.''

* June 25, 1993 Audrey Ann Spain Age 24

Audrey Spain grew up in a tiny coastal town in South Carolina, and her parents hated seeing her move to the big city. But Spain hoped to find a job working with computers in Charlotte. She came here from Bayboro, S.C., about three years ago. Her career plan fizzled, and she ended up working at Taco Bell restaurants. There she fell in with a group of young singles who shot baskets, cooked out and went to comedy clubs together. One of them was Henry Wallace. Another was Shawna Hawk. Police say Wallace strangled Hawk in February 1993, and Spain four months later. Spain was the youngest daughter of six children. Her parents, Broughton and Mae Helen Spain of Bayboro, called her ``Baby'' and remember her as a friendly youth who knew no strangers. Charlotte co-workers say the same. ``She always liked to make you smile and laugh,'' said Stephanie Cook, who worked with Spain at the Sharon Amity Taco Bell, where Spain was a shift manager. Cook got the news of her death from Wallace. ``Guess what?'' she remembers him saying. ``You aren't going to believe this. Audrey's dead.'' Spain's parents took her body home to South Carolina. Her friends never heard about her funeral.

* Valencia M. Jumper Age: 21 Found: Aug. 10, 1993

Vanesa Jumper never believed that her younger sister, Valencia, would have failed to turn off the stove before falling asleep. But law enforcement officials told Valencia Jumper's family last summer that she died of smoke inhalation during a fire in her home at Greenbryre Apartments, off Sharon Amity Road. Sunday, Vanesa Jumper found out she was right. Valencia was one of 10 victims police say were killed by Henry Louis Wallace. ``Grieving is bad enough. Now seven months later, it's hitting just as hard as when they called the first time,'' Vanesa Jumper said Monday from her home in Columbia. ``I know my sister. I know how we were raised. The last thing you do at night is you check your door and you check your stove.'' The weekend before Valencia's death, Vanesa had been visiting. ``She cooked dinner and she unplugged everything. I know she was careful.'' Valencia Jumper grew up in Columbia, the youngest of five children. She was a senior at Johnson C. Smith University, majoring in computer science. She was a good student, and worked two jobs, as a cashier at the Food Lion on Central Avenue and as a sales associate at Hecht's. Vanesa Jumper said she became very good friends with Wallace's sister when they attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill. She said Wallace introduced himself to Valencia Jumper in 1990 when he was a customer at the Food Lion.

* September 15, 1993 Michelle Denise Stinson Age: 20

Michelle Stinson was aiming for a career as a graphic artist, and doing well in classes at Central Piedmont Community College when she was found dead inside her Grier Heights apartment last fall. Frank Granger, her graphic arts instructor, said she once chose to do a project about managing stress and raising two children. Until then, he hadn't understood why she would sometimes fall asleep in his class. After that, he admired her courage and determination. Stinson was making A's and B's in courses like desktop publishing, printing management, sculpture and water color. Then, a friend found her dead, facedown on the kitchen floor. Police said her two small sons, Ernee, 3, and Nashon, 1, were present when their mother was slain, stabbed to death. When the friend knocked, Ernee answered. ``My mommy's asleep on the floor,'' he said. Henry Wallace has been charged with killing Stinson and nine other women. All the victims were black women. Many of them knew Wallace from their apartment complexes or their jobs in fast food restaurants. Police said, at the time of her death, that there was no sign of a struggle or forced entry, and the apartment did not appear to have been burglarized.

* Feb. 20, 1994 Vanessa Little Mack Age: 25

Friends say Vanessa Mack had a troubled childhood. And sometimes, she lost patience with her own two children. But she was trying to do better, said Barbara Rippy, who found Mack strangled with a towel in her home off Wilkinson Boulevard. Rippy, whose son is the father of Mack's older daughter, Natara, 7, had come to Mack's home to babysit for her baby, Natalia Little, now 5 months old. Rippy raised Natara until she was 4-1/2. Then, when Mack won custody of Natara, Rippy moved from Florida to Charlotte. ``I was a mother to her . . . I used to tell her to watch who she associated with,'' said Rippy. ``We had our times, I'll tell you that. . . . `` After Mack died, Rippy said Mack's colleagues at Carolinas Medical Center told her Mack had often talked about how much Rippy had helped her. ``I used to think she hated me. . . . But after she passed, I felt real good that she really appreciated me. . . . `` Mack's sister, Leslie Little, had introduced Mack to Wallace in July 1993. Little and Wallace worked together at the Taco Bell on Sharon Amity Road. Eunice Stradford, Mack's friend and supervisor, said Mack always showed concern toward patients. When one woman died a year ago, Stradford said Mack was especially saddened. She said: ``Everybody I get close to, they die, Miss Eunice.''

* Brandi J. Henderson Age: 18 Found: March 9, 1994

Brandi June Henderson loved being a mother. At 18, she had set up house in a quiet apartment off Albemarle Road with her boyfriend and her 10-month-old son, Tareese Woods. ``She was my Brandi, my little cuddly Brandi,'' recalled her aunt, Dorothy Nance. ``She was just a happy person, and she wanted me to be happy too.'' Henderson's early life wasn't always easy. Her parents separated when she was 2, and she spent much of her childhood moving from house to house. Her aunt, Gale Burrell, said Henderson spent more time with her father than her mother. Lloyd Burris, who ran the children's church at Gloryland Baptist Church, remembers her as a young teenager. ``She was one of the sweetest kids I ever had in my program,'' he said. ``The main thing I remember about her is she hunted me up the second she hit that church.'' Henderson dropped out of high school but then went back to Harding High to try to get her diploma. She also studied at Central Piedmont Community College. ``I remember her being real sweet as she can be,'' said Jo Henderson, Brandi's cousin. ``And I remember her with a bookbag on her back, going up to Harding High School.''

* Betty Baucum Age: 24 Found: March 10, 1994

Ten minutes into his interview with Betty Jean Baucum, Phil Locke knew she was the kind of person he wanted working as a manager at the Bojangles' he ran on Central Avenue. ``She had a lot of good qualities,'' Locke said Monday. ``She was a very nice young lady, a hard worker, dependable. She just had a beautiful smile. And I never heard her use one word of profanity, even if she got burned or something.'' Locke hired Baucum on Sept. 20, 1993, as a management trainee. She became a co-manager at the store in November. A staff member at The Lake apartments on Albemarle Road found Baucum's body in her apartment Thursday morning after her family called, worried that they hadn't heard from her. Police said she had been strangled and dead for at least a day. Her car, believed to have been stolen, was found in a shopping center across the street from her apartment. Baucum was originally from Laurel Hill. Locke said she had recently asked about transferring to a new Bojangles' in Sanford, so she could be closer to her fiance. They hadn't talked about her plans in any detail, though. ``She was fair and consistent in the way she handled people,'' Locke said. ``She was somebody who was a joy to be around,'' Locke said.

* Debra Ann Slaughter Age: 35 Found: March 12, 1994

When Debra Slaughter's mother unlocked her door and saw Slaughter lying on the floor, she didn't panic. Slaughter had been suffering back pain and had an appointment with a chiropractor that day. Her mom assumed she'd stretched out to ease her back. But she was dead, a victim of killer Henry Louis Wallace, police said. Slaughter, a deli worker at the Morrocroft Harris Teeter, was the oldest of four children. Her family remembers her infectious laugh and beautiful voice singing in church choir. ``We used to sit around and tell childhood stories and she would make us laugh,'' recalls sister Linda Ball. ``She was sort of a comedian.'' Slaughter, who had an 18-year-old son living in Atlanta, moved into Glen Hollow apartments with her parents last year. They recently moved, leaving Slaughter alone. Police believe she, like most of the other victims, knew Wallace and let him in. The family doesn't recall hearing about him, but Slaughter may have met him while working at Bojangles' on Central Avenue. Wallace worked at several east Charlotte fast-food restaurants and met many of the victims there. Ball remembers her sister as a tall, strong woman. She wants to know more about the attack. ``I want to know if she was fighting him,'' Ball said.

Nixzmary Brown: Two Years Later

Nixzmary Brown, R.I.P.

January 11th would mark the two-year anniversary of Nixzmary's brutal and untimely death at the hands of her so-called parents. On the day the news announcement of her death, initial outpouring of sympathy, a spate of condemnation against Child Welfare Services of NY, leaders commenting on the tragedy, and newspaper articles on the last days of Nixzmary's short life and of her beautiful wake and funeral held on January 18, 2006.

My question is where are all the people who initially shocked at Nixzmary's death? Where's Bloomberg and the leaders who shed crocodile tears? Where's Nixzmary's relatives and why aren't they pushing for her memory and to keep the monsters locked in prison for life?

People rarely value/memorialize child victims of Color , especially those who are Black. The victims' families deserve more than a footnote or an inital outpouring. Community leaders and family members could push the courts to prosecute those parents, newspapers and other media should have broken their necks to keep Nixzmary's memory and case in the spotlight every single day like they've done with Laci Peterson, JonBenet Ramsey, and Polly Klass. Organizations would have been preserving Miss Nixzmary's memory after her death.

On the other hand, I thank the people at Find-A-Grave.com for keeping Nixzmary's memory fresh on people's minds and heart. Over 1,100 tributes were published since the day of her death. Also, the memorial pages ordinary people kept in her memory and Keke Wright of Cynteria Haven. I want to thank them for doing just so.

Nixzmary Brown's memory will never be forgotten.

May she rests in peace.
