Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is an iconic Black civil rights leader.

Today, we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The country celebrates the life of the American civil rights leader who was slain in 1968. If he was alive today he would have been 86 years old.

Many Americans believe that the country has made a progressive change. Unfortunately the state of race relations have hit a new low.

Obviously, the Republican Party continues to be still inclusive. I mean they have a few non-White members who were elected to the House of Representatives and the Senate. But they're so ignorant, it's better being an all white party.

The Democratic Party nominated Barack Obama for president. The first Black president. The Democrats are such pussies, they can even embrace the fact they are historically first in overcoming their racist past.

We seen Obama's legacy being tested by the Republican Party and its staunch opposition towards him.

Last year, those in law enforcement and those in the Black community have seen a strain. The police involved killings of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, John Crawford and numerous others tested the nerve of Black America. Not to mention the killing of two NYPD officers has also brought to attention the need to for better communications between law enforcement and the community.

Can we make a difference on King Day?

Ohio Man Stabs Woman In Wheelchair To Death!

Andrew Kimbrough is one sick bastard. Cincinnati police put the cuffs on this nut after he stabs a 60 year old woman to death. And for no goddamn reason.  Hillcreast Elderly Home residents are visibly shaken by this tragedy. The victim was in a wheelchair and she was doing an errand run when this asshole ambushed her.

A good samaritan was also injured after he tried to be a hero.

We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to the family of Patricia Hummons.

"The guy jumped out, threw her out of the chair, stabbed her and beat her," said Anthony Byrd, a resident at the apartment complex. "You couldn't recognize her."

As the attack ended a “Good Samaritan intervened and Kimbrough attacked the Good Samaritan with the knife,” a release from the Cincinnati Police Department reads. “During that struggle the Good Samaritan was able to get the knife away from Mr. Kimbrough.”

Psycho killer Andrew Kimbrough kills Patricia Hummonds. She was in a wheelchair when he stabbed her and beat her.

WCPO reports the Cincinnati District 4 Police Capt. Maris Herold called it a "very unfortunate attack, very violent."

Both Kimbrough and the unidentified person who tried to stop the attack suffered stab wounds and weer taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. No injury information is available.

Kimbrough is charged with murder and felonious assault.

Police have not indicated what they believe motivated the attack but some of the residents at the apartment complex believe Kimbrough was trying to rob Hummons.

"Somebody handicapped, they tried to rob her? Thats ridiculous. I can't understand that," said Joyce Jordan as she held back tears. "Who does that to handicapped people? Who does that?"

If it was a robbery attempt, Byrd said Hummons would have "[given] it to him" if her attacker would have asked for it.

"This lady was a very sweet lady. She never hurt nobody," Byrd siad. "She was a very nice, kind lady. He didn't have to kill her."

The matter remains under investigation.

Biden's Home Got Hit By A Drive-By!

Shots were fired at Vice President Joe Biden's residential home in Delaware. The Vice President wasn't at home and the Secret Service and Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into this.

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden weren't at home. But in suburban Wilmington, Delaware, a gun shot hit the private home of the Vice President and the U.S. Secret Service is investigating the incident.

Biden and President Barack Obama were notified of the incident.

Biden brushed it off. He spoke at a woman's forum for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. service breakfast.

The incident comes into the national spotlight about the ineptness of some in the Secret Service.

Since the Colombia incident, the Secret Service has been through a major overhaul. The president fired the head and the Homeland Security will chop off the rest of the body. Some people were forced to resign.

It's a dangerous job to be a bodyguard for the President of the United States.

President Barack Obama, House Weeper John Boehner and Biden have all been the subject of death threats and penetration of security. Boehner had his former bartender threaten him.

Last year alone, Obama got over 560 death threats. Not all of them death threats made the news.

It's a felony to threaten federal workers (i.e, The President, Vice President, House Speaker, and their families). You can get up to ten years of federal time out if found guilty. You can not get parole on federal time out. It's served in full.

The president will deliver the State of The Union Address on Tuesday. The Republican response, the insurgent response and the other insurgent response will occur after this.

Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) will be the Republican response.

Who Are The Radicals Here In The U.S.?

The Raw Story reports that a Muslim peace rally in Texas was interrupted by protesters who screamed at the top of their lungs that the Islamic faith is scum of the earth. They even threw the first Black president into the mix. They called him a NIGGER who sympathizes with them.

So who's the real radicals?

The people who practice Islam who are American citizens or the White men who shout at them!

A great American.

The conference, entitled “Stand With the Prophet Against Terror and Hate,” was being being put on as a fundraiser for a Chicago-based Islamic group, Sound Vision, and approximately about 500 attendees were expected, reports NBC-DFW.

Holding signs saying “You are not Americans. Don’t fly our flag,” protesters complained about the Garland Independent School District allowing the group to use the facility.

“We pay our taxes to that school, and I don’t want them here,” one woman, Lavona Martindale said.

Another protester, identified as Greg McKinley, said, “We’re here to stand up for the American way of life from a faction of people who are trying to destroy us.”

McKinley added, “If they want to live their life like the middle east, they can go back to the middle east.”

“I want for people to see that we are kind peaceful people,” explained conference attendee Page Spence. “We’re not here to fight, we’re not here to argue. We’re just here to show that we’re Americans too.”

A young woman, part of a group of counter-protesters, explained, “People are here to stand up with the Prophet against hate and intolerance.”

Police authorities beefed up their presence at the event following earlier protests at a Garland School Board meeting, where board members were told by one man,”I certainly don’t think you need people there who want to destroy this country.”

A  spokesman for the school district said they do not discriminate against facility renters based upon religion.

Gomer Pyle May Run For Prez!

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is thinking about jumping into the clown car. This is not Graham. It's Jim Nabors, who plays Gomer Pyle, the character from the Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle USMC.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) the perennial complainer of all things Obama is considering a run for the White House. Graham and his best friend for life Senator John McCain (R-AZ, former 2008 Republican presidential nominee) have been fixtures on GOP Sundays.

They often are cited as "experts" on the "War on Terrorism". Graham and McCain are clueless, useless and just plain worthless.

These two often beat on their chest and throwing their poo at the president and his allies.

With the possibility of a perennial Hillary run, the establishment and insurgency isn't wasting time.

They want to destroy the potential Democratic nominee.

The Republicans are doing a full makeover. Republican circus ringmaster Reince Priebus is trying to make the party viable for the 2016 elections. They are cutting back debates and hope to have a strong nominee by the end of July. They want to use the techniques that President Barack Obama used during his reelection bid.

This bonehead could make an announcement in the coming month.

The establishment already has Jeb Bush and perennial loser Mitt Romney thinking about jumping into the clown car.

The insurgency has Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Dr. Benjamin Carson and Mike Huckabee in consideration as well.

On GOP Sundays, he told Meet The Press host Chuck Todd, that he's formed an exploratory committee and is considering it seriously.

Graham is 59 years old. Graham is a leading foreign policy hawk and interventionist.

He is known for his willingness to be bipartisan and work with Democrats on issues like climate change, tax reform and immigration reform and his belief that judicial nominees should not be opposed solely on their philosophical positions.

He is also a critic of the insurgent Rand Paul (R-KY) and many others in the insurgency.

Graham is arguing for a more inclusive Republican Party.

Graham has never married and has no children leading to some questioning his sexuality.

Graham has never admitted he's gay but sure enough, the rumors are there and people are willing to make that an issue if he runs for president.

The Drudge Report Is A White Extremist's Best Friend!

Lee Daniels' critically acclaimed drama Empire got worked over by the agitator of racial ignorance.

The Craigslist of right wing agitation posted tonight about the fate of Lee Daniels' hip-hop drama Empire getting the greenlight on Fox. The hip-hop drama featuring Oscar nominated actor Terrence Howard and Taraj P. Henson managed to surprise the executives. The series has managed to survive two and its going to finish the season with eight episodes with second season pending.

Fox struggled like ABC and NBC when it comes to finding the show. They often put on series that are critically acclaimed but struggle when it put against NCIS, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, and Two Broke Girls.

By the way, not all conservatives act like this. But a majority of them do! And it's reflective of the Republican Party and its allies. Say for example Congressman Steve Scalise (R-LA) and his admission to attending a meeting sponsored by former Klan leader David Duke.

Oscars So White!

 Ava DuVernay directed biopic Selma. It features David Oyelowo as Dr. Martin Luther King. It is an account of the march from Selma to Montgomery during the 1965 Civil Rights protest.

A huge controversy has ensued. The Academy Awards nominations came out and it became a literally shutout for minority actors, directors, women and movies.

The nominations were mostly White male and older celebrities. Not many of the nominees are Black, Asian, Hispanic or women of color.

For the third time since 1995, the 20 Academy Award acting nominations were only for white actors and actresses. The first was in 1998 and second was in 2011.

David Sims of The Atlantic states "the surprising coolness towards Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic Selma—nominated for Best Picture but missing in the Director, Actor, and Original Screenplay categories—with the fact that all 20 acting nominees this year are white, the first time such a thing has happened since the Oscars honoring the films of 1995."

Selma is directed by Ava DuVernay, herself an African-American female.

The Guardian columnist Bidisha also notes the overwhelmingly white nominee list while also discussing the fact that "every nominated best director, screenwriter, screenplay adapter and original score composer is a white man," which suggests that there is an inherent lack of female representation in the Oscars this year beyond the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories.

There was also some negative reaction from critics due to The Lego Movie not receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.

John Legend and Common were nominated for an Oscar.

Similar reaction also came from singer Lorde not being nominated for Best Original Song for "Yellow Flicker Beat" from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

There was also criticism from James Gunn regarding the fact that The Lego Movie was snubbed and Jake Gyllenhaal was not nominated for his performance in Nightcrawler while Dan Gilroy has received a nomination.

Foxcatcher's lack of a Best Picture nomination garnered some criticism as well as despite the director Bennett Miller, screenwriters E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman, and actors Steve Carrell and Mark Ruffalo all receiving nominations, the film itself did not.

On the bright side, John Legend and Common were nominated for an Oscar.

The famed R&B singer and rapper were nominated for Best Song for the movie Selma. Glory" from Selma – Music and Lyric by John Legend and Common: performed by John Legend and Common.
