Not On Black Wall Street!

Tulsa street named after a controversial figure.
The Associated Press reports that the city of Tulsa is considering renaming a street after they've gotten word of a namesake's controversial history.

Tulsa city councilors were expected to decide Thursday whether to rename a popular downtown street tied to a city founder who was involved with the Ku Klux Klan and possibly tied to a 1921 race riot in which hundreds of blacks were killed.

Before considering changing Brady Street's name at its Thursday night meeting, City Hall invited those who own property along the street to tell the City Council where they stand.
The street's namesake, Wyatt Tate Brady, was a shoe salesman who became a prominent Tulsa businessman. He signed the city's incorporation papers, started a newspaper and pumped his wealth into promoting Tulsa to the rest of the country.
Wyatt Tate Brady/
But Brady, the son of a Confederate veteran, was also a member of the Klan. New questions arose after a magazine article looked at whether he was involved in the most notorious event in Tulsa history: a 1921 race riot that left some 300 black residents dead.
Thursday night's vote will be on whether to change Brady Street's name to Burlington Street – reflecting a recently discovered 1907 document on which someone crossed out Burlington Street and wrote Brady Street in its place.
Today, Brady Street cuts through the heart of the Brady Arts District, a glitzy downtown area that represents arguably the most successful redevelopment project the city has ever pursued.
Boarded-up warehouses, overgrown lots and blight have been replaced with trendy bistros, a cigar bar and a museum and park honoring Dust Bowl music legend Woody Guthrie, who grew up in Okemah, about 50 miles south.
Supporters have been lobbying for the name change since 2011, when an article in the literary magazine This Land said Brady created an environment of racism that led to the 1921 riot that decimated a thriving district that historians have called Black Wall Street.
Those who want to leave the name alone, including Mayor Dewey Bartlett and a contingent of the Brady district's business owners, fear that changing one name could lead to a revisionist look into the pasts of other notable residents who have parks, buildings and streets named after them too.

The Tupac Legacy!

http://www.imagozone.com/var/albums/vedete/Tupac%20Shakur/Tupac%20Shakur%20w%201.jpg?m=1293082413
Entertainer death occurred on September 13, 1996.

At often times I would reflect on the lives of entertainers we've lost. I reflect on where I was and how I reacted to the death of someone you've come to recognize! And even though you've never met that entertainer, you felt like the entertainer was a friend or family member.

I was only 15 years old at the time when I've heard of his death.

I remember I was in the marching band during a high school football game. A lot of hearsay was coming from members of the band saying they've heard that Tupac was shot. At the beginning I didn't believe it.

We all knew that 'Pac would get shot and he would be out the next day. Somehow that was just fantasy.

He was shot on September 7, 1996 on the Las Vegas strip. They put him in a medically induced coma and would later die on September 13, 1996.

It would spawn the conspiracies that Shakur would be hiding somewhere waiting to drop another dope album.

After all he took on the Makaveli moniker during his final years as an entertainer.

Tupac Shakur survived a near fatal shooting in 1994. He fingered many New York based rappers for the attempted murder. He singled out Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G..

When people got the word that he would die of his injuries, people were actually crying in sorrow. His death shocked the nation. A man who told tales of the Black community while even questioning those who lead in it, was dead at the age of 25.

It made it clear that if you're a Black or Latino man and you've lived pass 25, it's considered an accomplishment. Many young men growing up in poorer neighborhoods never get to see their 25th birthday if they associate with the elements of NIGGER.

Tupac Amuru Shakur was one of the most famous and yet controversial entertainers. He was probably one of your favorite rappers.

I know I was a fan of the often brash and yet poetic rapper who told tales of the life as a NIGGA. He gave America the real definition of being a thug. A thug with a heart.

A rapper who knew how to make alot friends and a money. A rapper who made a lot of enemies.

A rapper who inspired others to enter the booth and rap a verse.

Without Tupac Shakur, you wouldn't have entertainers like Eminem, Ludacris, The Game, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Nelly, Drake, Future, Rick Ross, Lil' Wayne, and Nicki Minaj.

2Pac and briefly as Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor.

Shakur has sold over 75 million albums worldwide as of 2010, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. MTV ranked him at number two on their list of The Greatest MCs of All Time and Rolling Stone named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time.

His double disc album All Eyez on Me is one of the best selling hip hop albums of all time.

Shakur began his career as a roadie, backup dancer, and MC for the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground, eventually branching off as a solo artist. The themes of most of Shakur's songs revolved around the violence and hardship in inner cities, racism and other social problems. Both of his parents and several other of his family were members of the Black Panther Party, whose ideals were reflected in his songs.

During the latter part of his career, Shakur was a vocal participant in the so-called East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry, becoming involved in conflicts with other rappers, producers and record-label staff members, most notably The Notorious B.I.G. and his label Bad Boy Records.

On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada. He would later die of his injuries on September 13, 1996.

He was the stable of the rap label Death Row Records. The lost him spelled the end of the record label.

His murder will continue to be an open case.

We'll miss ya 'Pac.

I'll pour a lil' liquor in your name!

We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to those who were lost in gun violence.

Ohio Deadbeat Dad Goes To Iron College After TV Judge Appearance!

http://media.cmgdigital.com/shared/img/photos/2013/09/10/f7/4a/1319023.jpg
Daddy dearest.

An Ohio man spawned 27 children is going to be facing a judge and possible time in the iron college.

Is Oxygen going to give this man and his children a "reality television" show like Shawty Lo?

He's probably got the Duggards passed by seven.

Oh of course, if this happens to reach That Guy Who Throws Shit To The Wall's website, it's about to be a word vomit of NIGGER and his NIGLETS. They'll probably be mentions of President Barack Obama and references to a ZOO or a bunch of MONKEYS.

This is what a White conservative extremist thinks of this type of person and his family.

Nathaniel Smith is the "worst father of the decade" for bailing out on the numerous family he's created.

He's got the taxpayer's expense in the Montgomery County Ohio lock up after he appeared on the Fox syndicated television show Divorce Court.

This man has 12 sons and 15 daughters by at least 17 women and he's 39 years old. So that means he's got children probably in their 20s at the time he reaches 40.

Yeah, he's a grandfather at 39. His oldest child had a child and his youngest child is about a year old.

He was a featured player on the show Divorce Court is hosted by former Cleveland family court judge Lynn Toler. Toler, a mother herself was astounded by the callous actions of this asshole and how many women he's slept with to have this many children. Most of the women he's messed with are knot-headed 18 - 29 year olds. Some are probably biracial seeing that he's messed with White, Hispanic and Black women.

Dayton Daily News reports that Smith, who hopes to get a reality show, said his estranged wife Jasmine Cotton has been contacted by two TV talk shows since the episode aired.

A poet and performer who goes by the stage names of Brave Nate, FlexLuthor and Hustle Simmons, Smith says he is a “full-time parent” and sees at least one or two of his children nearly everyday. Some do not received all the attention they need, but Smith says he does his best.

“If I am absent, it is because the moms (are) keeping them away,” Smith said. “I am not a danger to my kids.

I am not in the streets. I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t do none of that.”

The show Smith and Cotton appeared on was taped in June. Smith said he contacted the show hoping it could help with his divorce. Instead, the show compensated he and Cotton $570 each and paid for their flights to the taping and their hotel rooms.

Smith faced strong words from TV judge Lynn Toler. He denied preying on young women, which Cotton and Toler accused him of doing.

His wife is 23. Smith said the majority of his children’s mothers are at least 28 years old.

He said he has custody of two of the children and is currently trying to get custody of another. All said he says he is in contact with all but five of his children and has 21 child support orders.

Smith wouldn’t reveal how much money he owes in child support or say how much he pays monthly.

He said those amounts are of no one’s concern.

Child support information is not available for public inspection.

Smith said many people in Dayton knew he fathered several children before the show aired.

“With me, it really wasn’t a big deal because I know of people who have even more than me,” he said. “The difference is I take care of mine or at least attempt to.”

He said he personally knows two people with as many children as he has and one person with 40 children.

He said his attorney told him of two fathers with more than 60 and more than 70 children.

Smith’s oldest child is 21 years old and is a mother. His youngest is almost a year old.

He knew his Divorce Court appearance would create a splash, but he didn’t know the reactions would be so condemning, smith said.

“To judge me? I read somethings on the website that were like, “wow.” People say I need to be in jail. If I were to go to jail, what about my kids …, what about them?” the Patterson Co-Op High School graduate asked. “People are going to be people. They get someone who has abortions all the time and they give them the thumbs up.”

He said he would be alarmed if one of his daughters introduced him to a boyfriend with several children, but he said he wouldn’t judge the person without getting to know that person’s intentions.

Smith said he has always been popular and his personality has helped attract the opposite sex.

“I am no different from a football player in college or high school,” he said. “They are coming at you.”

Before losing his barbershop a decade ago and his barber license around 2006, Smith said he had plenty of money. In recent years, his children’s mothers have contributed more.

“They had to step up. Nobody is missing a beat. I don’t have no poor looking kids,” Smith said. “I am blessed is all I’ve got to say. If I was to die today, doesn’t mean they are going to go without. Everything is going to be fine whether I am in their lives or not.”

He said he loves his children and would not change a thing if making that change would mean a single one would not be born.

“What is done is done,” he said. “One thing I would change is different moms.”

Ann Coulter: Putin Gave A Banana To That "Monkey" Obama!

http://patdollard.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Ann-e1345684509844.jpg
Yeah, it's desperation from the right wing.
The potential for a crisis is adverted. And the same ankle bitters for war are now bitching about the Russian president's diplomatic options to end the conflict between the United States and Syria.

The "America First" crowd can't get it through their heads that America's influence was ruined after we went to war on the notion that Afghanistan was harboring a terrorist and Iraq was harboring weapons of mass destruction.

The "America First" crowd can't see no right with the Black president. Every move whether going to strike or taking a diplomatic solution by allowing the United Nations take hold of the chemical weapons is a sign of "weakness".

This is what drove that blonde moronic woman to say that Russian Federation president Vladimir Putin is "monkeying" around with President Barack Obama.

So in other words, this blonde moronic horseface woman called the president a "monkey".

That's not what the conservative agitator said, but she's damn close to saying what most people on the racist right think. To have the first Black president disrespected by the likes of that shrew ignorance, it's unbelievable.

To think that last year, she would dare call the president a "retard" because he lost in the debate against that perennial loser Mitt Romney.

Horseface Ann Coulter flapping her jaws over at Loserville with That Guy Who Helped Obama Win.

She dare has the nerve to attack the president's handling of the crisis in Syria.

It's almost like the racist right is gleeful that Putin is "standing up" to President Barack Obama.

It's amazing that if you look at past presidents, Ronald Reagan was probably the "weakest" when it came to dealing with Russia (then the Soviet Union).

9/11 Benghazi!

http://realtalkrealdebate.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/september-11th-photo.jpg
We still keep our prayers for the ones lost on September 11, 2001 and 2012.

We will never forget the events of September 11, 2001 and 2012.

Many Americans working in service of their country made the ultimate sacrifice on that day.

We here at Journal de la Reyna show solidarity to those who lost their lives in New York City, Washington, D.C., Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and even the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya.

Ben Jealous Leaving NAACP!

http://ww2.hdnux.com/photos/17/16/56/3992505/3/628x471.jpg
NAACP president Benjamin Jealous is leaving the organization.

The head of the nation's civil rights group is leaving by the end of the month.

Benjamin Jealous is stepping down as the president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

He wants to spend more time with his family.  He is the youngest ever national leader of the organization.

Under Jealous' lead, the NAACP has had a number of notable achievements during his tenure, including: registering 374,553 voters and mobilizing 1.2 million new and unlikely voters to turn out at the polls for the 2012 presidential election; leading the charge for Connecticut and Maryland to abolish the death penalty; endorsing marriage equality; and fighting laws the NAACP claims were intended for voter suppression in states across the country.

During Jealous’ tenure, the NAACP's online activists have increased from 175,000 to more than 675,000; its donors have increased from 16,000 individuals per year to more than 132,000; and the number of total NAACP activists has topped one million.

Jealous will step down as president of the NAACP at the end of December 2013 Jealous is married to Lia Epperson, a law professor at American University and a civil rights attorney.

He leaves behind a somewhat controversial history. I mean he was around during the whole Shirley Sherrod fiasco in 2010.  During a convention, Jealous stated that the Tea Party was the last elements of racism.

He slammed those ignorant Republicans like Tim Scott (the only Black U.S. Senator), Rand Paul, Palin Da Ass, and Glenn Beck as panderers of racism. He was completely right on that one.

It pissed off that agitator Andrew Breitbart. That agitator tried to get back at the NAACP by releasing a video of then U.S. Agriculture representative Shirley Sherrod talking about her experiences in the South.

Sherrod lost her father to the racial extremists who murdered him. She had some resentment towards White people at a time. As a community advisor, Sherrod was hoping to help save families from losing their homes.

She was dealing with a White family from the South who was on the verge of losing their home, changed her views.

So as she shared this experience, Breitbart took all the good parts out of the speech and put it together to make it seem like the NAACP was hosting a Black extremist and President Barack Obama allowed this person to be on the "gubmint" payroll.

The video was posted on the Breitbart websites and it was going to be on the Chalk E. Becker show.

President Barack Obama ordered Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to send that woman packing.

The NAACP also overreacted to it too by issuing an apology.

Soon as the controversy was starting to built up. The truth came out.

The video was doctored, the controversy soon swung to the president overreacting and the media's rush to judgement. Also this fiasco left egg on the face of Andrew Breitbart. His credibility was ruined during that event.

He managed to rebuilt himself as the guy who took down Anthony Weiner, a Democratic congressman who texted his penis to women. Weiner was the only success that Breitbart had during his time as an agitator.

Weiner would later try to run for mayor only to be sent back to the cesspool he's created out of his arrogance.

Breitbart would later die of a heart attack in 2012.

Jealous and Breitbart were not the best of friends. The conservative agitator was trying to smear the NAACP and have Jealous fired.

Jealous also criticized the president. He believes the president has to throw a little more weight into the issues in the Black and Hispanic communities. The unemployment rates for Black and Hispanic workers is very high.

Jealous, Rev. Perm and the president spoke at the March On Washington rally last month.

He made it clear that Black America must speak up about issues such as unemployment, racial profiling and the U.S. Justice system (in regards to the George Zimmerman verdict).

Under his leadership, the NAACP endorsed the rights for gay couples to marry.

Syria: An American Affair!

http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.145145!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_635/alg-obama-assad-jpg.jpg
Face off.

President Barack Obama is roundly facing opposition from the equals of the left and the right over this issue with Syria. The Middle Eastern country is in a huge civil war, and there's reports that chemical weapons were used on civilians. The president blames the Syrian government for the chemical weapons use and wants to strike upon the country.

Longtime leader Bashar al-Assad has denied that his government was responsible for using chemical weapons.

He warned the United States and its allies that anything goes if they invade the country.

As the commander-and-chief, Obama has to outline his military strategy. He wants procedure strikes on military bases and spots that contain chemical weapons. The president can do that as he pleases since he's the military leader. But some are bitching about the Constitution and the possibility of going into a long drawn out war.

He's getting criticized by the Opposition Team (Rand Paul, John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee) on how he should address this issue in Syria. They wanted him to go to Congress to issue a declaration of war. Then when he shocked the junk food media with that, the same members of th Opposition Team are bitching about how it's a weak move by a president.

But also his core supporters, the progressives are dismayed that this could happen. I am for one concerned that the president is making a dire mistake entering into this conflict. But who am I to stop him?

I mean honestly most U.S. presidents have intervened in global affairs. This one is different. The amount of opposition is basically roundly from both sides.

The war weary American public isn't in favor of meddling in Syria.

President Barack Obama laid out a red line and told that action will be taken. So where's the action?

He's been bombarded by the left on his promise not to start wars. He's been bombarded by the right on his transparency. And of course, the right doesn't want to give him a victory and they're trying to figure ways to "impeach" him.

The Republican Party itself is even defiant in war. This party and its former standard bearer George W. Bush were unison in getting the war drums beating. The Republicans had unanimous support for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, two of the longest combat wars in the history.

This possibility of going into Syria has strained relationships with Russia. The Russian Federation president Vladimir Putin is strongly against this proposal. Russia is an ally of Syria and they believe that there's not enough proof of chemical weapons use.

Today, officials have confirmed that Syria is probably willing to give up chemical weapons to strain off an airstrike from the American military.

There's a discussion about it. A healthy and yes sometimes unproductive discussion of war.

The country is strained with economic turmoils because of the impact of Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Republican Party is trying to tarnish the legacy of President Barack Obama regardless of what he does.

We already hear talk from Rand Paul that he'll filibuster the move. Instead of writing legislation, he's going to do another camera grabbing moment to win over a few clueless stans.

John McCain was caught playing online poker while at the White House. The three hour discussion on a war strategy and McCain is playing video games. This old fool had the nerve to say that he'll talk to House members about impeachment.

John Boehner is on board with the president. And in a few days, he'll vote probably against the proposal since he's getting flack from his Tea Party members.

Pete King called the president decision a good move, but still criticized him for not being an effective leader.

Steve Stockman is already plotting a drafting of Articles of Impeachment.

Democrats are split too. Nancy Pelosi support the president. But those progressives and Blue Dog Democrats are fighting over it as well.
http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/agz3.jpg
Syria sits within the western quadrant of the Middle East.

It's a big situation if we strike Syria. A country that no one can find on a map, but it's in those in the junk food news media who bring up those stories of those "scary Muslims."

I am actually disappointed in how far we've gotten to this moment. I mean the United States is the only global superpower in the world. Its influence has decreased since the two wars.

Many overseas view Americans as ignorant.

Yeah, we're ignorant.

Many conservative minded Americans believe that anyone who doesn't speak English (American) should go back to their country.

Many conservative minded Americans and liberal minded Americans believe Muslims aren't to be trusted.

Even though a majority of Muslims denounce the religious extremism, many are targeted for hate crimes because of perceived fears of 9/11 and the Benghazi saga.

Many conservative minded Americans would follow a Republican leader into war. They'll finger wag when a Democrat wants to go into a war. King Hippo and That Guy Who Helped Obama Win are two fine examples of that.

They we're the biggest cheerleaders for war in Iraq and called those who opposed it, "anti-American".

The very same cheerleaders are booing and crowing that this potential for strike in Syria is "anti-American."

Tonight President Barack Obama will deliver a speech to the nation about his proposals and the latest developments in Syria.

Russia's move to have chemical weapons removed may take some claim out of the storm. The conservative agitators are blasting the president for allowing Russia take control of the situation. Instead of understand the means of diplomacy, they're arm chair warriors plotting their strategies if they were the commander-and-chief.

The president welcomed any suggestions to end the conflict. But yeah, he's still can get the go-ahead to strike if Congress refuses to authorize. The president is still willing to take this on.

Diplomacy is on the way. Secretary of State John Kerry's first year on the job and he's got one of the toughest moves to make. Could he imagine this conflict gotten to this point!

What's your take on the possibility of the United States engaging in a war with Syria?
