A Dangerous Hoax: Texas Police Deal With A Porch Pirate Going Out For A Bite!

A man who stole a package from a person's home is now fighting for his life after he was bitten by a venomous animal. The man was bitten by several black widow spiders.

The black widow spider is one of the most dangerous arachnids in North America.

The brown recluse spider is considered more dangerous because of the animal's bite being so small. People will not notice it hiding in places around the home until its too late.

The female spider carries a powerful nuerotoxin that can cause a person who may be allergic to insect bites a fatal reaction. It is usually shy when approached by humans and usually tries to avoid contact. But often if a person does get bitten by one, they won't notice the bite until the symptoms begin. 

Dry bites are often used in scaring off predators.

The neurotoxin latrotoxin, which causes the condition latrodectism, both named after the genus. Female widow spiders have unusually large venom glands, and their bite can be particularly harmful to large vertebrates, including humans. However, despite their notoriety, Latrodectus bites rarely cause death or produce serious complications.

A member of the family Theridiidae, this genus contains 34 species, which include several North American "black widows" (southern black widow Latrodectus mactans, western black widow Latrodectus hesperus, and northern black widow Latrodectus variolus). Besides these, North America also has the red widow Latrodectus bishopi and the brown widow Latrodectus geometricus, which, in addition to North America, has a much wider geographic distribution. Elsewhere, others include the European black widow (Latrodectus tredecimguttatus), the Australian redback spider (Latrodectus hasseltii) and the closely related New Zealand katipō (Latrodectus katipo), several different species in Southern Africa that can be called button spiders, and the South American black-widow spiders (Latrodectus corallinus and Latrodectus curacaviensis). Species vary widely in size. In most cases, the females are dark-coloured and can be readily identified by reddish markings on the central underside (ventral) abdomen, which are often hourglass-shaped.

A person bitten by a widow will see severe muscle pain, abdominal cramps, diaphoresis, tachycardia, and muscle spasms. Symptoms usually last for 3–7 days, but may persist for several weeks.

Now porch pirates are a common issue in the country. The USPS mail carrier, UPS driver, FedEx Ground driver, DHL driver, Amazon deliverer, DoorDasher, Uber Eats driver, GrubHub driver and Shipt deliverer will make a delivery to your home.

A porch pirate waits for the right moment to take the package and run with it.

Some victims resort to dangerous tactics. 

Putting animal or human feces, rocks, explosive devices, urine, wildlife and chemicals inside packages are considered booby traps. You can be held liable for injury if the porch pirate is injured.

By law, property is not as important as life. So if you harm a person with a booby trap, you can be held liable. 

Again, watching wildlife from a distance is safer than going near.

I Missed This!

In July, former rapper and adult entertainer Cash Out along with his mom, Mama Cash were put in the iron college for running a pimp game. The pimp and madam were sentenced to LIFE.

The far right junk food media demonized Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis for indicating President Donald J. Trump for racketeering and election fraud.

Everything about her personal business became the public business. For some reason, Trump and the Georgia Republicans managed to strip her of duties to hold him and 19 others accountable for trying to steal the 2020 presidential results.

Now as Trump in his second term promised revenge. He has stripped Willis from entry to federal buildings. He also wants Republican governor Brian Kemp and future governors to find ways to remove Willis.

All the while, Willis kept a level head and kept doing her job.

Everyone was backing Young Thug and YSL as they were accused of running a literal gang and drug trafficking business. They were accused of burying bodies.

They are allegedly targeting former YSL artist Gunna after it was revealed her cooperated with prosecutors.

In July, Willis successfully put a convicted human trafficker in the iron college for LIFE. 

Why no rappers came to the defense of former entertainer Cash Out?

John-Michael Hakeem Gibson, 35, better known by his stage name Cash Out (stylized Ca$h Out), is an American former rapper, adult entertainment actor and convicted sex offender.

On July 28, 2025, after a 2022 arrest on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, he was found guilty and was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole plus an additional 70 years after being convicted of an additional crime of rape, forcible sodomy and weapons possession.

In June 2023, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed charges against Gibson, along with five other individuals, in a 41-count indictment. The charges included allegations of rape, aggravated sodomy, human trafficking, and holding victims at gunpoint. Gibson himself was indicted on 13 counts of rape and sex trafficking.

Prosecutors claimed Gibson used his celebrity status and social media presence to entice women. The crimes allegedly took place in a hotel room near Fulton Industrial Boulevard and a residence in Carroll Heights, a neighborhood in Atlanta.

OnlyFans was Cash Out's secondary job. This fool abused the power of social media.

Prosecutors also alleged Gibson, Gibson's mother Linda Smith (who was also known as "Mama Ca$h"), and Gibson's cousin Tyrone Taylor would use their record label, Pyrex Music Group LLC, as a front for sex trafficking and racketeering activities.

On July 18, 2025, a jury convicted Gibson, Smith, and Taylor of various charges related to the 2023 indictment. Before sentencing, Gibson stated he thought the jurors "made the wrong judgment" and asserted his innocence, claiming the women were all of age and had given consent to their treatment, suggesting some witnesses who testified against him were "bullied into" cooperating with authorities, and comparing himself to Jesus Christ. 

On July 21, 2025, Gibson was sentenced to life imprisonment for rape, as well as an additional 70 years in prison for racketeering, sex trafficking, firearm possession, and related offenses, with some of those sentences to be served consecutively and some to be served concurrently.

Taylor was sentenced to life imprisonment for aggravated sodomy and rape, with an additional 60 years for sex trafficking, assault, false imprisonment, and drug possession; Smith was sentenced to 20 years in prison for racketeering and 10 years, served concurrently, for sex trafficking. Gibson, Smith, and Taylor will all be placed on a sex offender registry and forbidden permanently from contacting any victims or revisiting any areas related to the crimes, such as Fulton Industrial Boulevard.

Texas Republicans are trying to do a midway redistricting of U.S. congressional seats to give the advantage to the House majority come the 2026 U.S. Midterms.

Texas has 38 congressional seats. Of those seats, 13 are Democratic and 25 are Republican. The state is gerrymandered. If Texas Republicans carry out their plans, the state will have 31 Republicans and 7 Democrats.

President Donald J. Trump wanted Texas to redraw its map to give the U.S, House Republicans a stronger majority in the state. Texas Democratic lawmakers are angry over Gov. Greg Abbott allowing this. They staged a series of walkouts.

The Texas Rangers, FBI and U.S. Marshals are actively searching for them.

Crockett called Abbott "Governor Hot Wheels." It riled up the far right.

Abbott also vowed to deny any Texan state funding if they boycott Israel.

Gov. Gavin Newsom of California has vowed to put a public ballot measure to allow a temporary redistricting to U.S. congressional districts. California has 52 districts. If the ballot measure passes, it would push for 47 Democrats and 5 Republicans.

Not phased by the noise.

Picture this! This white Latina named Sara Gonzales dreamed she would make a living trying to piss off people she doesn't even know publicly. Gonzales saw mentally ill Laura Loomer confront people and now wants to master it.

During the town hall, Crockett recalled, “I used to stay at my granny’s house. She was one of my favorite people in the entire world–” as Gonzales then interrupted the event by shouting at the congresswoman.

“Jasmine! The people of Dallas deserve better than a fake ghetto hoodrat!” she yelled. “Do they know you’re a rich kid from Missouri? Do they know you’re a spoiled rich kid from Missouri?”

As Gonzales was shouted down by other members of the audience, a woman pushed against her and snapped, “Get your ass out of here!”

“Don’t touch me! Get her off me!” shouted Gonzales in response.

After the BlazeTV host again yelled, “Do your people know you’re a spoiled rich kid from Missouri?” a man could be seen screaming in Gonzales’ face, “Get out! Get out!”

Gonzales was then forcibly removed from the town hall as she protested, “Get off me! Get the f*** off me!”

Police subsequently ordered Gonzales off of the property, threatening to put her in cuffs.

“I confronted Jasmine Crockett at a townhall for being a fake hoodrat,” wrote Gonzales in a social media post, sharing video of the incident.

Crockett was also protested by another conservative activist, who shouted, “Jasmine, why do you hate white people? Why are you racist towards white people?” – a clear reference to Crockett’s numerous rants about “mediocre white boys” and her 2024 attack on a member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), who she referred to as a “simpleminded, underqualified white man.”

I believe Jacob Wahl, Laura Loomer, Lara Logan, DeAnna Loraine, Omar Navarro,  Joey Saladino and Sara Gonzales have autism or some form of mental illness. I am not a doctor but I see how they operate and its concerning.

Maybe Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. can offer them some grass to calm their nerves.

AriZona Tea Company Will Break The Bank!

Since it founding, AriZona Tea sold a tall boy can for 99¢ since its inception.

The founders Don Vultaggio and John Ferolito created a Brooklyn-based discount beer and soda delivery company, starting with a used Volkswagen bus and adding trucks as the business grew. The company ventured into flavored seltzer and its own brand of malt liquor in its early years. AriZona Iced Tea, the company's flagship product, was first introduced in 1992.

For over 30 years, AriZona managed to become one of the largest beverage brands in the United States. It also specializes in fruit snacks, nacho chips, alcoholic beverages and energy drinks.

Chairperson and Co-founder Don Vultaggio told USA TODAY that if tariffs implemented by President Donald Trump continue to rise, the company may have to adjust its pricing.

Vultaggio said the situation is "particularly unfair" because 80% of the sheet metal used for AriZona products is recycled from the United States. The other 20% is imported. On June 3, Trump signed an executive order that issued a 50% tariff on all aluminum and steel imports.

"If pressures keep rising, we may have no choice but to adjust pricing, though we’ll work hard to avoid it," Vultaggio said.

"Wherever we see savings – like lower crude oil costs for PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate, a plastic used for bottles) – we’re passing them to customers with deeper promotions or outright price cuts, including plastic tall boys at $1," Vultaggio continued.

The 2025 NFL regular season is less than a month away. The Eagles and the Cowboys are scheduled to kick things off on Thursday, Sept. 4. Preseason games are already underway and the first full regular season weekend should be a big one.

While the players and coaches are getting ready for the season, so too are the cheerleaders. And that includes the male cheerleaders. In total, 12 teams will reportedly have male cheerleaders on the squad during the 2025 season. This is up from seven teams in 2024, according to Outsports.

Fox and the far right junk food media will press for President Donald J. Trump and Republican interference. 

The Dallas Cowboys owned by that asshole Jerry Jones will not have male cheerleaders.

Jones has Stage IV cancer. He is getting expensive treatment to starve off his possible death.

Lindsey Graham: God Will Pull The Plug If We Abandon Israel!

Graham warned Republicans in a speech on Wednesday that “God will pull the plug on us” if the government stops supporting Israel.

Seemingly responding to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) remarks accusing Israel of conducting genocide against the Palestinian people, Graham said during his speech:

Israel is in a fight for their lives. Our friends in Israel are surrounded by people who would kill them all if they could. I am tired of the word “genocide”! Let me tell you about genocide. If Israel wanted to commit genocide, they could. They have the capability to do that. They choose not to. Hamas, they would commit genocide in 30 seconds. They just can’t. And that’s the big difference, folks.

To people in my party: I’m tired of this crap! Israel is our friend. They’re the most reliable we have in the Mid-East. Trump endorsed Graham for his reelection. The two have a contentious relationship. Trump viciously attack Graham when they ran for president.

Trump purposely revealed Graham's personal phone number after the senator called the dotard a charlatan who could ruin the Republican Party for generations.

Graham has voted against convicting Trump of his two impeachments.

A rabid fox bit two people in North Carolina. The Moore County Sheriff had to put the animal down.

Foxes are common urban wildlife. They often are seen in neighborhoods. They prey on small rodents, hares, insects, cats, fish, garbage, pet food and carrion. They are omnivores. Foxes eat nuts, berries, tomatoes and corn.

Authorities are investigating after a rabid fox attacked two people in North Carolina in two separate attacks on the same day.

Both of the wild animal encounters took place in Aberdeen, a town about 95 miles east of Charlotte in Moore County.

According to the Moore County Sheriff's Office, the first animal attack took place about 8:05 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, along Midway Road and involved one person being bitten by the fox.

The second attack took place that same day, about 8:35 a.m. on Sycamore Street and involved a person bitten by the same animal, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Animal Services deputies collected the fox responsible for both attacks and sent it to a State Laboratory for rabies testing, the release continues.

Both people lived in the area but did not know each other, the sheriff's office told USA TODAY on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

2 people attacked by rabid fox in North Carolina treated for injuries

According to a news release on Tuesday, Aug. 12, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields confirmed the fox had tested positive for rabies.

The victims received medical treatment and were expected to recover, the sheriff said in the release.

See aggressive wildlife? Here's what to do:

Residents in the Aberdeen area were being asked by law enforcement to use caution and not to approach wild animals.

According to WildlifeHelp.org, people who encounter strange-acting or aggressive wildlife should "leave it alone" and "stay on guard" since there may be other infected animals in the area.

"If a wild animal is in your yard behaving aggressively and there has been no contact with people or pets, contact your local animal control or state wildlife agency immediately," the nuisance wildlife control operators said. "They will assess the threat and take appropriate action to deal with the offending animal."

Anyone who encounters wildlife displaying strange or aggressive behavior in the Aberdeen area is asked to call Moore County Animal Services at 910-947-2858.

Rabies is a neurological disease that attacks the brain of wildlife and domestic animals. It often targets raccoons, deer, foxes, coyotes, bears, wolves, bobcats, bats and elk.

Rabies is a viral disease that causes encephalitis in humans and other mammals.

It was historically referred to as hydrophobia ("fear of water") because its victims panic when offered liquids to drink. Early symptoms can include fever and abnormal sensations at the site of exposure. 

These symptoms are followed by one or more of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, violent movements, uncontrolled excitement, fear of water, an inability to move parts of the body, confusion, and loss of consciousness. Once symptoms appear, the result is virtually always death. The time period between contracting the disease and the start of symptoms is usually one to three months but can vary from less than one week to more than one year. The time depends on the distance the virus must travel along peripheral nerves to reach the central nervous system.

Rabid fox.

All warm-blooded species, including humans, may become infected with the rabies virus and develop symptoms. Birds were first artificially infected with rabies in 1884; however, infected birds are largely, if not wholly, asymptomatic, and recover. Other bird species have been known to develop rabies antibodies, a sign of infection, after feeding on rabies-infected mammals.

The virus has also adapted to grow in cells of cold-blooded vertebrates. Most animals can be infected by the virus and can transmit the disease to humans. Worldwide, about 99% of human rabies cases come from dogs. Other sources of rabies in humans include bats,monkeys, raccoons, foxes, skunks, cattle, wolves, coyotes, cats, and mongooses (normally either the small Asian mongoose or the yellow mongoose).

It follows three Black teens who sort through life challenges in Los Angeles. It featured Ernest Thomas, Haywood Nelson, Fred Berry, Shirley Hemphill and Danelle Spencer.

In the reboot What's Happening Now!! it paved the way for Anne Marie Johnson and a young Martin Lawrence.

Danielle Spencer was an actress, veterinarian, activist and public speaker. She was 60 years old.

Danielle passed away from stomach cancer which led to cardiac arrest.

As Dee, Spencer was the smarter, more serious younger sister who offered a steady stream of deadpan roasts of big brother Roger “Raj” Thomas and his friends Dwayne Nelson and Freddie “Rerun” Stubbs.

“Ooh, I’m gonna tell mama,” would become Dee’s catchphrase.

The show, set in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts and among the first on television to focus on the lives of Black teenagers, was based on the movie “Cooley High” and ran on ABC from 1976 to 1979. It had a long legacy thanks to its memorable characters, including the geeky Raj, the catchphrase-spouting Dwayne, the red-bereted dancing phenom Rerun, and Dee with her eyerolls and icy stare.

Early in the production of the show’s first season, Spencer, then 12, was in a major car accident on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, that left her in a coma for three weeks and killed her stepfather, Tim Pelt. She would have spinal and neurological problems that would require multiple surgeries in the years afterward.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, and raised in New York, Spencer began acting when she was about 9. “What’s Happening!!” would be her first credited role.

“Imagine being plucked from obscurity to star in a TV show,” she told Jet magazine in 2014. “I had never seen any young Black girl in that type of spotlight, so I didn’t have a reference point in the media as to how to deal with this opportunity. I was from the Bronx.”

Haywood Nelson, who played Dwayne on the show, paid tribute Tuesday to “Dr. Dee, our brilliant, loving, positive, pragmatic warrior.”

“We have lost a daughter, sister, family member, ‘What’s Happening’ cast member, veterinarian animal rights proponent and healer, and cancer heroine. Our Shero,” Nelson said on Instagram. “Danielle is loved.”

Spencer also appeared on a mid-1980s reboot of the show, “What’s Happening Now!!,” which ran for three seasons.

In 2018, she had emergency surgery for a bleeding hematoma, which stemmed from that 1977 car crash. In the immediate aftermath, a family spokesperson said she could only speak slightly and had to use crutches to walk. She had been suffering symptoms from at least 2004, when she had to use a wheelchair and relearn how to walk. In 2014, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy.

She went on to become a veterinarian and advocate for animals. She attended the University of California, Davis, and UCLA, and got a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Tuskegee University in 1993.

Spencer continued to dabble in acting in her later years, including an appearance as a veterinarian in the 1997 Jack Nicholson film “As Good as it Gets.”

She is survived by her brother, musician Jeremy Pelt, and her mother, Cheryl Pelt.

It allowed same sex couples to get married. It made it safe for Americans to love one another regardless of gender, sexuality and visibility.

Kim Davis, 59 is the former Rowan County, Kentucky clerk of courts official who issued marriage licenses to Kentuckians. In 2015, she defied the federal courts when a gay couple who wanted a marriage license were denied. She told the junk food media the decision was against her religion. 

Davis became a martyr thanks to her antics. She addressed the media, saying that issuing same-sex marriage licenses “would be conflicting with God’s definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman. This would be an act of disobedience to my God.”

She won over Mike Huckabee (now ambassador to apartheid Israel), Tony Perkins, Pat Robertson, Tucker Carlson, Randall Terry, Lila Rose and Jerry Falwell, Jr.

Her defiance brought her time in the county lock up.

A conservative Democrat who won her election numerous times, Davis became a Republican after meeting then-presidential candidate Donald J. Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) when they ran their contentious campaign.

Davis would end up losing to her former deputy clerk who ran as Democrat.

She was ordered to pay the federal court and the complaints $100,000 for non compliance.

Now in 2025, ten years after the decision, Davis comes back.

Davis’ lawyers are attempting again to get her case before the Supreme Court, after the high court declined to hear an appeal from her in 2020.

A federal judge has ordered Davis to pay a total of $360,000 in damages and attorney fees to Ermold and his partner.

Davis lost a bid in March to have her appeal of that ruling heard by a federal appeals court, but she will appeal again to the Supreme Court. Her attorney, Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel, said the goal is affirm Davis’ constitutional rights and “overturn Obergefell.”

If the Supreme Court hears her case, this could be the beginning of the end of democracy as we know it.

The Supreme Court had a narrow 5-4 vote to make marriage equality legal.

Gay marriage has been pretty favorable with the public. Over 73% of Americans support marriage equality.

Trump Deploys The National Guard For The Wrong Reasons!

Trump authorizes the National Guard to combat crime. Before the pandemic crime was at record lows. Still is. But Trump and his allies will start fires but no solutions to end them.

The president, Vice President JD Vance, Congress and the junk food media are unpopular.

So when Jan. 6, 2021 happened, Trump claimed the power to authorize the District of Columbia National Guard belonged to Washington mayor Muriel Bowser and then House Speaker, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

The worst attacks on our federal government happened in 1814, 1954, 1998 and 2021.

Trump led an insurrection on the U.S. Capitol to violently throw out the electoral votes for then president Joe Biden.

When Jeffrey Epstein files still an issue in the country, Trump is trying to keep the Benny Johnson, Laura Loomer, Mark Levin, Sean "Softball" Hannity and Ben Shapiro folks happy.

Throw them a distraction.

Of course, Trump is using the DC National Guard to be police officers. He also wants homeless Americans to vacate the city.

The city of Washington has 754,000 residents. It is an Alpha city. It is a hub of government, finances, culture and technology.

The city has 56% Black population. It is one of the 30 major cities with a large Black population.

Trump is bringing in 800 National Guard members to help law enforcement fight crime in Washington, but just 100 to 200 of the troops will be on the city’s streets at any given time, the Army said.

Trump’s directive Monday for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to activate the National Guard is just the latest example of him sending the Guard into cities to support immigration enforcement or fight crime over the objection of local and state officials.

How the National Guard deployment in DC will work

According to the Army, Guard troops will be deployed under Title 32, or “federal-state status” authority. That means the troops can conduct law enforcement activities on the streets of the nation’s capital — though, at the moment, that doesn’t appear to be the plan.

“Their duties will include an array of tasks from administrative, logistics and physical presence in support of law enforcement,” according to a statement from the Army, to which the District of Columbia National Guard directed all questions.

About 500 federal law enforcement officers are being assigned to patrols in Washington, including from the FBI; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Drug Enforcement Administration; Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and the Marshals Service.

Hegseth told reporters that Guard members will be “flowing into the streets of Washington in the coming week.” He said the Pentagon also was prepared to bring in other “specialized” Guard units, though he didn’t offer any further details.

The timeline for the troop deployment is vaguely defined. According to Trump’s directive, National Guard troops will remain deployed until the president determines “that conditions of law and order have been restored.”

Besides the 800 Guard members, Trump said “we will bring in the military if it’s needed” — seemingly referring to active duty troops in addition to the Guard — but added that “I don’t think we’ll need it.”

Hegseth later seemed to suggest the Guard troops could take a more active role.

“We’re not going to have National Guard just sitting there like this, seeing a crime committed (and) not do something about it,” he said Monday evening on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle.”

Asked whether the troops would be detaining Americans, Hegseth first said “they’re not going to be involved in law enforcement functions” before adding, “I will have their back to ensure they can take the necessary action to protect citizens of D.C. and to protect themselves.”

He said the troops could detain people and then hand them over to law enforcement, as was done this summer in Los Angeles.

Trump recently sent Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles

The deployment of troops to Washington comes after the Pentagon has pulled out the vast majority of the roughly 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 active duty Marines that Trump sent to Los Angeles in late June.

Trump argued that the deployment was necessary after his administration’s immigration crackdown led to protests throughout the city. Troops were largely tasked with protecting federal buildings and guarding immigration agents as they conducted raids.

Hegseth compared plans to send troops into the nation’s capital to their deployment to the U.S.-Mexico border and to Los Angeles.

“We will work alongside all D.C. police and federal law enforcement,” Hegseth said.

However, California’s governor and city officials argued that the LA deployment was unnecessary and went to court to try to fight it.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass told reporters that the National Guard’s primary mission had been to guard two buildings that “frankly didn’t need to be guarded.”

In addition, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, also a Democrat, has questioned the effectiveness of using the Guard to enforce city laws.

“I just think that’s not the most efficient use of our Guard,” she said Sunday on MSNBC’s “The Weekend.”

Trump deployed the Guard to Washington in his first term

This is also not the first time Trump unilaterally has chosen to use federal forces in the U.S. capital.

In 2020, during the protests over the police killing of George Floyd, Trump deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to the city, at one point using them to forcibly clear peaceful protesters from a square near the White House so he could stage a photo op.

It became a controversial moment in his first administration in part because Gen. Mark Milley, who was then chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, appeared alongside Trump. Some saw Milley’s presence as the military’s endorsement of using troops against U.S. citizens. Milley later apologized.

Ohio Interstate 73 Talks Spark Up Again!

Interstate 73 and 74 in Rockingham, North Carolina. The proposal to expand is being discussed in Ohio.

Republicans in Ohio are pushing for the Interstate 73 and 74 extensions.

Interstate 73 is being built in North Carolina and South Carolina. The expansion into Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Michigan has been scrapped.

But with the Trump Administration and its Make America Great Again policies, Ohio is planning on exploring it again.

This was discussed in President Donald J. Trump's first term. The Ohio Department of Transportation have said it would be difficult but possible.

The connection of Interstate 73 would focus on U.S. Highways 23, 30, 68 and Ohio State Route 15. There is no direct interstate connection from Toledo to Columbus.

If you take Interstate 75 to U.S. Highway 68 in Findlay, you have the most easiest way to Columbus. However, you will pass through a series of traffic lights, congestion through Delaware and the speed changes.

Now south of Columbus is slightly better. The proposal would have several sections of U.S. Highway 23 be upgraded to interstate standards. The connection would have it break from Interstate 71 and follow a path close to U.S. Highway 23 and Ohio State Route 104.

The upgrades through U.S. Highway 23 from Chillicothe to Portsmouth will also have the freeway align with the Veterans Memorial Highway. After that it will follow U.S. Highway 52 to Ironton and Huntington, West Virginia.

The Interstate 73-74-75 corridor would run nearly 1,000 miles from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On the way, it would pass through Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.

The Ohio section of the proposed highway would largely follow U.S. Route 23, running south from Toledo, through Columbus, and all the way to the Kentucky/West Virginia border near Chesapeake, Ohio.

The project aims to upgrade existing routes and connect bypasses into a seamless interstate system - pulling together scattered segments into a unified whole over years of coordinated effort.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is conducting a $1.5 million feasibility study on the project scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Its findings will help decide the project’s future, its allocation of state funding, and guide potential routes, ODOT says.

Cincinnati area Republican lawmaker Rep. Dave Taylor of Ohio wants Interstate 73 and 74. Taylor will ask Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy for authorization of corridor movement.

Rep. Dave Taylor (R-OH) whose district would be served by the highway, introduced a congressional resolution last month supporting construction of the Ohio’s portion.

A statement from Taylor said southern Ohio needs infrastructure to support businesses like a growing uranium enrichment site in Piketon, and a defense technology company building an advanced manufacturing facility to make military drones and autonomous air vehicles in Pickaway County.

The Clermont County Republican said the new interstate would help workers in the region commute to work, and its growing industries transport their wares.

“An interstate through southern Ohio would not just help connect rural communities to the modern economy but would enhance our national security because of multiple key facilities and defense-related companies along the route,” Taylor said.

Taylor sought support for the project from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy at a recent House Transportation Committee hearing, where Duffy said he’d be happy to discuss USDOT’s role with Taylor.

“We have too many communities that don’t have adequate infrastructure, and most of them are oftentimes rural,” Duffy said at the hearing.

Interstate 74 in its original routing serves Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa. It starts from Davenport, Iowa. It travel through Illinois cities, Rock Island, Moline, Peoria, Champaign and Danville. It enters Indiana and meets Interstate 465 in Indianapolis. In Indianapolis it shares a concurrency with Interstate 69 and 465. Once it breaks from Interstate 465 it heads to Ohio and terminates at Interstate 75 near downtown Cincinnati. The proposal has the route traveling from Cincinnati to West Virginia and Virginia. Interstate 74 begins again in North Carolina.
