The Secretary of State is calling for Hamas to agree to a brokered deal that the U.S. worked on for a ceasefire. The United Nations adopted the resolution.
Hamas stated it clearly, they want the occupation and full military removal of the Israeli regime from the Gaza Strip and West Bank. They want full sovereignty over their own lands, reparations and sanctions on Israel.
Hamas responded Tuesday to the U.S.-backed proposal for a cease-fire in Gaza, saying it wants some “amendments” on the deal. The group’s reply apparently fell short of an outright acceptance that the United States has been pushing for but kept negotiations alive over an elusive halt to the eight-month war.
Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said the response included “amendments that confirm the cease-fire, withdrawal, reconstruction and (prisoner) exchange.” He did not elaborate.
While supporting the broad outlines of the deal, Hamas officials have expressed wariness over whether Israel would implement its terms, particularly provisions for an eventual permanent end to fighting and full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in return for the release of all hostages held in Gaza.
Also Tuesday, the U.N. human rights office said both Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups may have committed war crimes in connection with a deadly raid by Israeli forces that freed four hostages and killed at least 274 Palestinians over the weekend.
Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza has killed more than 37,100 people, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Palestinians are facing widespread hunger because the war has largely cut off the flow of food, medicine and other supplies. U.N. agencies say over 1 million in Gaza could experience the highest level of starvation by mid-July.

The new sanctions applied to all countries and companies doing trade or business with Iran and cut the country off the international financial system, rendering the economic provisions of the nuclear deal framework null.
Trump would also commit to moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing the city as the "true capital" of Israel. Most countries recognize Jaffa (Tel Aviv-Yafo) as the official capital.

Hours after the conviction, President Biden hugged his son after landing in Wilmington to spend the night with family before leaving Wednesday for the Group of Seven leaders conference in Italy. Hunter Biden, his wife and their child greeted the president on the tarmac, and the president lingered to visit with them for several minutes.
Jurors found Hunter Biden guilty of lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, making a false claim on the application by saying he was not a drug user and illegally having the gun for 11 days.
The trial played out in the president’s home state, where Hunter Biden grew up and where the family is deeply established. Joe Biden spent 36 years as a senator in Delaware, commuting daily to Washington, and his other son, Beau Biden, was the state attorney general before he died of cancer.
The proceedings put a spotlight on a dark time in Hunter Biden’s life, including his spiraling descent after Beau’s death in 2015. The trial featured deeply personal testimony from former romantic partners and embarrassing evidence such as text messages and photos of Hunter Biden with drug paraphernalia or partially clothed.
In his closing argument on Monday, prosecutor Leo Wise acknowledged the evidence was “ugly.” But he told jurors it was also “absolutely necessary” to prove Hunter was in the throes of addiction when he bought the gun and therefore lied when he checked “no” on the form that asked whether he was “an unlawful user of, or addicted to” drugs.
Before the case went to the jury, the prosecutor urged jurors to pay no mind to members of the president’s family sitting in the courtroom, telling them: “People sitting in the gallery are not evidence.”
David Weiss, the prosecutor who has led the long-running investigation into the president’s son, told reporters the case was about Hunter Biden’s “illegal choices” and “dangerous” conduct.
“No one in this country is above the law,” said Weiss, the Trump-nominated U.S. attorney for Delaware, who was named special counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland in August. “Everyone must be accountable for their actions.”
Hunter Biden’s lawyers had argued that he did not consider himself an “addict” when he bought the gun. They sought to show he was trying to turn his life around at the time, having completed a rehabilitation program at the end of August 2018.
Hunter Biden’s legal troubles aren’t over. He faces a trial in September in California on charges of failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes, and congressional Republicans have signaled they will keep going after him in their stalled impeachment effort into the president. The president has not been accused or charged with any wrongdoing by prosecutors investigating his son.
Just last year, it appeared that Hunter Biden would avoid the spectacle of a trial so close to the election. Under a deal with prosecutors, he was supposed to plead guilty to misdemeanor tax offenses and avoid prosecution in the gun case if he stayed out of trouble for two years.
But the deal fell apart after Noreika, who was nominated by Trump, questioned unusual aspects of the proposed agreement, and the lawyers could not resolve the matter.
Hunter Biden has said he was charged because the Justice Department bowed to pressure from Republicans who argued the Democratic president’s son was getting special treatment.

Chuck Hand may have won the Republican nomination for a competitive race in Georgia's 2nd Congressional District. His support for MAGA, his unapologetic actions and his desire to stick it to the Democrats makes him a sure shot.
Republicans have gerrymandered the district to make it slightly Democratic leaning. The lawmaker occupying the district is Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-GA), a centrist African American lawmaker who represented the district since 1993.
Georgia's largest district by land area, it comprises much of the southwestern portion of the state. Much of the district is rural, although the district has a number of small cities and medium-sized towns, such as Albany, Americus, Bainbridge, and Thomasville. It also contains most of Columbus and most of Macon. The district is also the historic and current home of former President Jimmy Carter.
The 2nd district is one of the most consistently Democratic in the country, as Democrats have held it since 1875. However, it has grown far less heavily blue in recent years due to shifting demographics. With a PVI of D+3, it is the least Democratic majority-black district in the United States.
The district's boundaries were redrawn following the 2010 census, which granted an additional congressional seat to Georgia. In 2021, following the 2020 census, the 156th Georgia General Assembly passed new congressional maps signed by Governor Kemp, and redrew this district from 51% African American to 49% African American, beginning in 2023.
If Bishop passes away or retires, Democrats would need to find a replacement fast.

It was the latest volatile turn in southwest Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District, where Chuck Hand and Wayne Johnson are competing for the GOP nomination to take on 16-term Democratic incumbent Rep. Sanford Bishop in November.
Hand is one of at least four people convicted of Jan. 6 crimes running for Congress this year, all as Republicans. He was sentenced to 20 days in federal time out and six months of probation.
Hand did not learn a damn thing from this ordeal. He is defiant and still an election denier simpleton. Like the MAGA MILF, Jenna Ryan, the punishment was too light.
Should have put them in federal time out for 2 years. They turnout like the former Brooklyn Center cop Kim Potter who killed Daunte Wright.
At the beginning of a debate sponsored by the Atlanta Press Club, Hand said he was refusing to debate Johnson after Michael Nixon, who finished third in the four-way May 21 primary, gave a news conference last month endorsing Johnson.
Nixon brought up a 2005 criminal trespass charge and a 2010 DUI charge against Hand, both of which were dismissed. Nixon also cited federal court documents to argue Hand’s participation in the Jan. 6 riot was more serious than Hand had claimed.
“This is where I get back in my truck and go back to southwest Georgia because I’ve got two races to win,” Hand said, walking out of the studio while cameras were rolling.
“You’re not staying?” asked anchor Donna Lowry. “You’re leaving, sir? OK.”
“Wow, I don’t even know how to react,” Johnson said.
Johnson, an official in the U.S. Education Department during the Donald Trump administration, said Hand’s exit is more proof that Hand isn’t fit to be the Republican nominee.
“I would like to assume that Chuck Hand’s departure, the way in which he did it today, was his withdrawal from the race,” Johnson told reporters afterward. “But it certainly should cause people to pause and think about why he did it and what he was trying to get by doing it.”
Hand stormed off stage when he ranted about his GOP opponent not living in the district. The opponent lives in Macon but the city is broken into two districts.
After Hand walked out of the debate, he answered questions from reporters for nearly 20 minutes, saying he believed Johnson had helped orchestrate the attacks by Nixon. Hand was particularly critical that Nixon brought up the earlier conviction of his wife for illegal sale of oxycodone.
“It’s perfectly fine to attack me as a candidate. I expect that. But to come out and publicly attack my wife, that’s a completely different situation,” Hand said. “My wife had paid her debt to society long before I ever met her.”
He attacked Johnson for not living in the bounds of the district, which isn’t required for congressional candidates.
A construction superintendent who lives in rural Butler, Hand again portrayed himself as leading a working-class movement to improve economic conditions in one of the poorest parts of Georgia. Hand said he would rally Black and white workers under the banner of Donald Trump. Hand has disdained the traditional formal dress of political candidates throughout the campaign, wearing a blue denim shirt and a Caterpillar baseball cap on Sunday.
Johnson won almost 45% of the vote in the May 21 primary while Hand won almost 32%. Because no one won a majority, voters will decide the nominee in a runoff. Early in-person voting begins Monday ahead of the June 18 election.
“Money isn’t going to win this election, heart will, voters will,” Hand said. The coalition that we built on the ground over these years is going to win this election. It’s the grassroots activists on the ground that have done the prep work that are going to win in November. America first? I’m your 2nd District First candidate.”
Johnson has staked out a more moderate position, saying any Republican who hopes to beat Bishop needs to do more to appeal to the largely Black Democrats who have supported the longtime incumbent. He said during the debate he doesn’t back proposed Republican cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps.
“We’re going to have to carry 50,000 people that normally vote Democrat across to vote Republican,” Johnson told reporters after the debate. “And that’s going to be basically based on: ‘Can you prove to folks, can you demonstrate to folks ahead of time that you actually can make their lives better?’”
Johnson dismissed Hand’s attacks on him for living just outside the district in Macon, saying he has invested in businesses in the district and would move to a house he owns in Plains, Jimmy Carter’s hometown, if elected.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is one of the most insufferable members of the Democratic Caucus. He is thriving to be similar to newly independent senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. Both are retiring.
Fetterman ran on the bullshit of being a progressive figure. He fooled the left into supporting him over establishment backed Connor Lamb, a well seasoned lawmaker.
Before his primary, Fetterman had a mild stroke and did not have health insurance at the time. Guess who paid for it? The Israeli lobby. So now he became one of the loudest voices supporting the apartheid ethnostate of Israel. Many progressives also took issue with him defending Donald J. Trump and the Republican concerns about gridlock.
This is a true disadvantage.

The crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at Interstate 68 in Hancock.
Maryland state police say Sen. Fetterman was driving a Chevy Traverse when, for an unknown reason, he hit the back of a Chevy Impala.
Fetterman and Gisele were taken to nearby War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia to be evaluated.
Fetterman will likely be cited for causing a car accident.
Fetterman was treated for a bruised shoulder and released, according to a statement from his office.
So far no citations have been issued. Maryland state police say the investigation is active and ongoing.
Fetterman's statement goes on to say he and Gisele are doing well and are happy to be back in their hometown of Braddock, Pennsylvania.

Gantz had previously said he would leave the government by June 8 if Netanyahu did not formulate a new plan for postwar Gaza.
He scrapped a planned news conference Saturday night after four Israeli hostages were dramatically rescued from Gaza earlier in the day in Israel’s largest such operation since the eight-month war began. At least 274 Palestinians, including children, were killed in the assault, Gaza health officials said.
Gantz called for Israel to hold elections in the fall, and encouraged the third member of the war Cabinet, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, to “do the right thing” and resign from the government as well. Gallant has previously said he would resign if Israel chose to reoccupy Gaza, and encouraged the government to make plans for a Palestinian administration.
On Saturday, Netanyahu had urged Gantz not to leave the emergency wartime government.
“This is the time for unity, not for division,” he said, in a direct plea to Gantz.
Gantz’s decision to leave is largely “a symbolic move” due to his frustration with Netanyahu, said Gideon Rahat, chairman of the political science department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He noted it could further increase Netanyahu’s reliance on extremist, right-wing members of his government, led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
“I think the outside world, especially the United States, is not very happy about it, because they see Gantz and his party as the more responsible people within this government,” Rahat said.
On Sunday evening, Ben-Gvir demanded a spot in the war Cabinet, saying Gantz and the smaller Cabinet had bungled the war effort due to “dangerous” ideological decisions.

Judge Juan Merchan informed the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Trump's defense team that he got wind of a social media post from a user saying that he knew a juror. The poster said the juror told him that the decision to find Trump guilty was already implanted and he thanked the jurors and New York.

A U.S. hostage cell provided advice and support throughout the process of locating and rescuing the hostages, according to a Biden administration official, who was not authorized to comment and requested anonymity. The hostage cells are multi-agency teams.

A young woman who was arrested in Colorado on a traffic offense was inside the back of a cruiser when a Union Pacific freight train collided with it. She was seriously injured.
Two officers who arrested her simply ignored the very rules they swore an oath to.
They literally ignored the danger of leaving a vehicle on railroad tracks.
The city of Fort Lupton and town of Platteville, Colorado, agreed on the settlement with the victim, Yareni Rios-Gonzalez, according to a release from the Fort Lupton Police Department. The settlement amount will be split equally between the town and city and paid by their insurers, according to attorney Eric M. Ziporin, whose office represents the city.
Rios, who was a suspect in a road rage case, survived the September 2022 collision but suffered nine broken ribs, a broken arm and other injuries.
“This voluntary settlement is to the mutual satisfaction of the parties, recognizes the gravity of this matter, and allows all parties to move forward,” the Fort Lupton police department said.
Two bad cops let a handcuffed woman get hit by a train.
Fort Lupton police officer Jordan Steinke, who placed Rios in the vehicle, was found guilty last year of reckless endangerment and third-degree assault in the crash and was sentenced to serve 30 months of supervised probation and 100 hours of public service.
Steinke was fired out the cannon.
On the day of the crash, Steinke joined a traffic stop in which officers had pulled over Rios, who authorities said was suspected of brandishing a gun at another driver earlier in the evening. Steinke put Rios into the cruiser of Platteville police officer Pablo Vasquez, who had parked in the middle of a railroad crossing. Vasquez was fired out the cannon.
He has a lengthy discipline record which includes multiple violations of his time at Platteville and previous engagements at other jurisdictions.
Body and dash camera video released by police showed Rios screaming for help as the train approached and slammed into the vehicle.
Steinke argued during her trial that she didn’t notice the location of the railroad tracks despite several warning signs, including one next to where she parked her vehicle.
The officer said she was not fully aware of her surroundings because she was concerned about approaching a suspect who may have a gun. “You can only divide your attention so much,” Steinke testified.

Former Trump adviser and far right agitator Steve Bannon must report to the federal time out for his four month sentence for not complying. He was convicted of defying a subpoena from Congress. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols in Washington granted the Justice Department’s request to make Bannon begin his prison term after a federal appeals court panel last month upheld his contempt of Congress conviction.
Bannon is expected to seek a stay of the judge’s order, which could delay his surrender date.
“I’ve got great lawyers, and we’re going to go all the way to the Supreme Court if we have to,” Bannon told reporters outside the courthouse. He added: “There’s not a prison built or jail built that will ever shut me up.”
In a social media post Thursday, Trump accused prosecutors of being “desperate” to jail Bannon. Trump repeated his claim that Republicans are being persecuted by a politically motivated justice system — rhetoric that has escalated in the wake of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s conviction last week on 34 felony charges in his New York hush money trial.
Nichols, the judge who ordered Bannon to report to prison, was nominated to the bench by Trump in 2018.

Bannon can appeal his conviction to the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Prosecutor John Crabb told the judge it was “very unlikely” Bannon would succeed in getting his conviction thrown out.

The defense has said Bannon had been acting on the advice of his attorney at the time, who told him that the subpoena was invalid because the committee would not allow a Trump lawyer in the room and that Bannon could not determine what documents or testimony he could provide because Trump has asserted executive privilege.
Defense lawyer David Schoen told the judge it would be unfair to send Bannon to prison now because he would complete his entire sentence before he exhausted his appeals. Schoen said the case raises “serious constitutional issues” that need to be examined by the Supreme Court.
“In this country, we don’t send anyone to prison if they believe that they were doing something that complied with the law,” he told reporters.
A second Trump aide, trade adviser Peter Navarro, was also convicted of contempt of Congress. He reported to prison in March to serve his four-month sentence.
Navarro, too, had maintained that he couldn’t cooperate with the committee because Trump had invoked executive privilege. But courts have rejected that argument, finding Navarro couldn’t prove Trump had actually invoked it.
The House Jan. 6 committee’s final report asserted that Trump criminally engaged in a “multi-part conspiracy” to overturn the lawful results of the 2020 election and failed to act to stop his supporters from attacking the Capitol, concluding an extraordinary 18-month investigation into the former president and the violent insurrection.
Bannon is also facing criminal charges in New York state court alleging he duped donors who gave money to build a wall along the U.S. southern border. Bannon has pleaded not guilty to money laundering, conspiracy, fraud and other charges, and that trial has been postponed until at least the end of September.
Guo Wengui is indicted on bilking over $1 billion from people who invested in his companies. Bannon is also a witness in this case as well. He refuses to talk to federal authorities.
The lawsuit that requires far right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to relinquish his assets begins. He owes spousal support for his ex-wife Kelly, the defamation of Sandy Hook families and former employees who were cheated out payments. He also has a federal watch on him for Jan. 6.
In 2022, for Jones's defamatory falsehoods about the Sandy Hook shooting, juries in Connecticut and Texas awarded a total of $1.487 billion in damages from Jones to a first responder and families of victims; the plaintiffs alleged that Jones's lies led to them being threatened and harassed for years. On December 2, 2022, Jones filed for personal bankruptcy.
Jones is expected to relinquish InfoWars, a popular conspiracy theorist platform which he gain a reputation.
He will also relinquish his yacht, vehicles and his Texas ranch outside of Austin.
InfoWars is an American far-right conspiracy theory and fake news website owned by Jones. It was founded in 1999, and operates under Free Speech Systems LLC.

In April 2022, it became known the company behind InfoWars had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, as had Infowars Health (or IWHealth), against further civil litigation lawsuits. The court filings estimated InfoWars assets at between $0–$50,000, but its liabilities (including from the damages awarded against Jones in defamation suits) was estimated as being between $1 million to $10 million.
Jones said on his program, "At the end of the day, we're going to beat these people. I'm not trying to be dramatic here, but it's been a hard fight. These people hate our children." The next day, the families filed an emergency motion in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Houston, asking the judge to liquidate Alex Jones's company rather than allow him to reorganize it. The court filing said Jones has “failed to demonstrate any hope of beginning to satisfy” their claims. The motion will be considered on June 14. On June 6, Jones's attorneys filed a motion to convert his bankruptcy to Chapter 7 status, which would lead to liquidation of his personal assets, including his stake in InfoWars.
Jones had asked the Sandy Hook families to vote for a bankruptcy settlement that would have paid them $55 million, but they unanimously rejected the deal.
The Sandy Hook families instead offered their own proposal for liquidating Jones’ assets, and U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez will consider approving the Sandy Hook families’ plan at a June 14 court hearing.
Because the bankruptcy will likely result in the liquidation of Jones’ assets, Jones would prefer to liquidate his assets in a lower-cost and more streamlined court procedure, according to the court filing.
