Department of Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten Buttigieg are going to parents. The two announced on social media that they will be adopting a newborn via a surrogate.
The former South Bend mayor and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate was selected by President Joe Biden to lead the Transportation Department. He is the first LGBTQ nominee to lead a White House Cabinet.

Buttigieg, who served as mayor of South Bend from 2012 to 2019, made history earlier this year as the first openly gay Cabinet member to be confirmed by the Senate. Last year, after narrowly winning the Iowa caucuses, he became the first gay presidential candidate to win a primary contest. At 39, Buttigieg is also the youngest person to lead the Department of Transportation.

American media personality now carries the torch of conservative radio. A millionaire conspiracy theorist who has a platform on radio and television. He has an audience of 20 million on radio and 4 million on television. An annoying agitator who spent his entire life spewing baseless allegations against his fellow Americans.
It pulled in ratings only for the fact that the conservative host constantly interrupted his guests, threw ad hominem attacks, constantly stole the spotlight and often peddled in conspiracy theories and white nationalism.
So let's understand how he operates. He literally brags about how moral he is. Of course, he is shameless in whatever he says, does and reacts to.

The Karen governor test positive for the coronavirus. He is also asking President Joe Biden and the federal government for help to combat the delta strain of the coronavirus. His incompetence is on full display as well as his lieutenant governor.
"I test myself every day and today is the first day that I tested positive," Gov. Karen Abbott said in a video Tuesday evening. "I want you to know that as I work my way through this, I will stay engaged every single day on everything happening at the Texas Capitol, including working with the members of the legislature as well as the members across the entire state to keep Texas the best state in the United States."
Abbott received his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine in December of last year, which he credited for his mild case so far.
"I have received the COVID-19 vaccine, and that may be one reason why I’m really not feeling any symptoms right now. I have no fever, no aches and pains, no other types of symptoms," Abbott said Tuesday.

COVID-19 cases have soared in Texas recently as the delta variant spreads throughout the nation.
The 7-day average for new cases in Texas reached a low point on June 15 of 1,065, but was up to 12,498 on Monday, the highest it has been since early February, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
Meanwhile, hospitalizations in Texas have increased 301% over the last month as the state reported nearly 12,000 COVID-19 patients hospitalized on Monday, which is the most since Jan. 28.
Nearly 55% of Texans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 45.5% have been fully vaccinated, according to the CDC.
Of course, there's folks who are fully vaccinated but end up getting the coronavirus. As with vaccines, nothing is 100%. The vaccines are capable of preventing the coronavirus. At best, it's a 94% prevention rate which means 1 out of 500 could be infected even if they're vaccinated.
President Joe Biden had hopes that Americans would take this shit seriously. Unfortunately, Republicans so fucking eager to return to power will keep Americans fixated on the culture wars. Now vaccinations are part of this culture war.
But those fighting the culture war by not vaccinating, not wearing face mask in public, not following protocols, and deliberately ignoring federal and international rules when traveling are going to be the first casualties of the war.

According to the CDC, there is still not enough information on antibodies for COVID-19 and whether they can prevent someone from getting reinfected. It still recommends that people with a positive antibody test follow recommendations for protecting themselves and others.
The coronavirus doesn't care about your age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, politics, economic or social standings. It doesn't care about anything. It's a living organism that causes mild symptoms that include: fever, sore throats, chills, respiratory issues, loss of taste or smell and other unknown symptoms. If you have a weak immune system or health issues, your risk increases.
Death does happen to at least 40% of those who are affected by COVID-19.
If you're not vaccinated, your chances of death increases to 48%.
Healthy people can die from this. Take this seriously. You only have one life!

In a few weeks, the California recall election will be underway. If the current governor is replaced by a Republican, the Democrats could lose their majority in the Senate.
With allegations of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) having possible dementia and ailing health, there's rumors of her being forced out or possibly resignation. If the Republicans do win control, they could replace her with Republican senator and ruin the slim majority the Democrats have.
Democratic governor Gavin Newsom is facing a recall election in September. The Republicans and some disgruntled independents are tired of face masks, high gas prices and progressive politics.
Now he is in real danger of being recalled by a hodge podge of misfits.
A handful of extremists including an enabler of white supremacy, a washed up reality celebrity and a YouTube millionaire are on the list of challengers.
These candidates have no clue on how to fix the issues in California. All they got going for them is "what Newsom failed to do and how they're not him."
In February 2020, a group called the California Patriot Coalition began circulating a petition to recall Newsom, citing his administration's policies on immigration, homelessness, the state's drought emergency and taxes. Newsom faced multiple recall attempts but this one seems really serious.
Proponents of the recall say the movement is gaining momentum and it could be the end of the road for the once promising governor.
Question 1: Shall Gavin Newsom be recalled (removed) from the office of Governor of California?
Question 2: Which candidate should replace Newsom if he is recalled?
There are 24 Republicans, 9 Democrats and 10 "No Party Preference" candidates, 2 Green Party and 1 Libertarian candidate on the ballot to replace Newsom.
One in particular is the controversial Black far-right agitator Karen Elder. The former talk radio host and "finger wagging" Elder launched his campaign in mid-July and has started to become somewhat of a serious threat to Newsom. Elder is against the mask mandates.
Elder used his radio show to attack Black fathers and former President Barack Obama. He also spreads misinformation about the coronavirus and is anti-Muslim, anti-LGBTQ and anti-science. Elder is hoping to earn the endorsement of Washed Up 45.
Elder entered the recall race in mid-July and has already brought in at least $5.5 million for his campaign. A Los Angeles-based host of a nationally syndicated conservative talk show, Elder has been the most recent target for Newsom's recall campaign, which claims Elder's show serves as a platform for disinformation on science and COVID-19 and that he's further "to the right" of former President Trump.
"Think about the judges he could appoint," Newsom said Friday in San Francisco. "Who would he have appointed to replace Kamala Harris in the U.S. Senate? How would that impact the trajectory of this country? What would this mean for the future of the Democratic party in our efforts to keep the House of Representatives?"
Elder, like other Republican candidates in this recall, have gone after Newsom's COVID-19 measures.
"This man that I'm going to defeat on September 14, he shut down the state in the most severe way than any of the other 49 governors have," Elder said Friday in San Jose. "When I get elected, assuming there are still facemask mandates and vaccine mandates, they will be repealed right away and then I'll break for breakfast."
If Newsom is recalled, it would be the second time that California voters have recalled a governor.
In 2003, Democratic Governor Gray Davis was recalled and replaced by Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger went on to win a full term as governor in 2006.
The memories of that race still sting Democrats. Hicks said because of the 2003 result, he's glad that there isn't a strong Democratic candidate challenging Newsom. In that election, then-Democratic Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante ran as a replacement candidate.
"We had a Democratic governor and we had the 'backup option' and the result was Arnold Schwarzenegger," Hicks said. "I think that California Democrats carry that lesson with us to this fight."
Democrats hold a massive advantage in party registration numbers. As of July 16, there were 10.3 million registered Democrats in California, accounting for 46.5% of all registered voters. There were about 5.3 million Republican voters and about 5.1 million who registered as "No Party Preference."
But recent polling suggests that Newsom is far from in the clear and his biggest issue may be complacency among Democratic voters.
According to a new CBS News poll, 78% of Republicans say they will definitely vote, while 73% of Democrats say they definitely will. Republican voters are also more motivated to cast ballots than Democrats. The poll found that among registered voters, 54% think Newsom should not be recalled, compared to 46% who think he should. But among likely voters, the gap narrowed to 52% against the recall compared to 48% who support it.
Other recent polling from California has shown a similar picture. A Berkley IGS poll from late July found that 51% of registered voters wanted to vote "no" on the recall, while 36% planned to vote "yes." But among the voters most likely to cast a ballot, 50% planned to vote "no," while 47% planned to vote "yes." A Core Decision Analytics poll released in early August indicated a similar trend, but showed Newsom with a slightly better position among the likeliest voters.

"Those that think this thing is not close – I'd hate to disabuse you. It is," Newsom said recently.
Newsom's team is hammering the message to Democrats who are considering sitting on the sidelines.
"It [the recall] will happen if Democrats don't vote. Period," said Nathan Click, senior adviser for Newsom's anti-recall efforts.
The main committee defending Newsom raised more than $46 million through July 31 and had more than $26 million in cash, giving Newsom's side a massive warchest in the final stretch.
According to a source familiar with the president and vice president's planning, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will be taking an active role over the next month in the effort to stop the recall. That could include potential in-person events and other forms of engagement.
"He knows how to get the job done because he's been doing it," Mr. Biden said about Newsom in a recent statement, praising his response to the pandemic, his environmental work and his advocacy for women, immigrants and the LGBTQ community.
"And to keep him on the job, registered California voters should vote 'no' on the recall election by September 14 and keep California moving forward," he added.
Republicans remain optimistic about their chances not only because of enthusiasm, but also because of some key victories in 2020. Karen MillIan Patterson, chair of the California Republican Party, said Democrats believe that Republicans' only shot to win is low turnout, but 2020 showed the GOP can win in the Golden State.
"We had record turnout last year with mail-in ballots and we won where we played," Patterson said, pointing to four GOP flips in Congressional elections and wins on statewide ballot initiatives.
Still, Patterson acknowledged the pro-recall movement's strong enthusiasm is due to its roots at the grassroots level and Newsom's decision making.
"This isn't something that started in the California Republican Party, this is an outside organization of Californians of all political affiliation," Patterson said. "We are incredibly fortunate as Republicans that (Newsom) is our governor and has done everything possibly wrong and has failed the California people on every single level."

Dayton, Ohio has a Karen problem as well. It's these white nationalists and enablers of color who promote bigotry, anti-science and anti-human rights at the expense of others.
Premier Health Network and Kettering Network have ordered all their employees to be vaccinated or be fired out the cannon. Some of these employees are protesting against the vaccination decree.
They launch protests across the city of Dayton and were demanding the health providers to resend their vaccinate mandate.
Karen Creech a state representative from West Alexandria said he joined the demonstration because vaccines should be a matter of personal choice, and it's not an employer's place to require them.
In an interview, he denied any description of himself as anti-vaccine. However, he falsely claimed there's no evidence COVID-19 vaccines will save lives; said he's “100 percent" certain that COVID-19 deaths are overcounted; and said he's not putting any vaccine “poison" in his body.
“If those people are in the hospital, and they chose not to be vaccinated, I support them," he said. “It's personal choice, it really comes down to their choice. Maybe they feared the vaccine more than they do getting deathly sick from the virus."
Creech joined a protest outside administrative offices of Kettering Health, one of three related protests outside hospitals that opted to mandate COVID-19 vaccination for staff. Hundreds joined the protests, wielding signs like, “We don't need no vaccination, we don't need no forced control."

A Kettering Health spokeswoman said in a statement the hospital respects the rights of individuals to assemble and peacefully protest, and that “we continue to have productive conversations with our colleagues as we navigate this next phase of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic."
This antagonistic relationship to COVID-19 vaccination is not unique among the Ohio General Assembly. Earlier this year, lawmakers passed legislation prohibiting schools and universities from requiring students take any vaccine that has not yet received full approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration — the three available COVID-19 vaccines are available under an emergency use authorization, a streamlined regulatory approval used during a health crisis.
The House Health Committee is also considering broader legislation that would outlaw vaccine mandates from any employer, including hospitals and nursing homes. It would also prohibit insurers, governments and others from incentivizing or asking about one's vaccination status.
More than 63,000 Ohioans have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since the pandemic began, and more than 20,600 have died. Slightly more than 61% of Ohioans have received vaccination against the disease, even as a more transmissible variant of the virus that causes it has sparked a resurgence.

Two Republican strategists are caught up in a federal sex trafficking sting operation. They are both being held in the federal time out awaiting a trial. A 19-year old woman and a 30-year old man are both being held on prostitution, sex trafficking and sexual abuse of minors.
The two were indicted on multiple federal offenses on August 12, 2021, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota.
She was the former Minnesota College Republicans chair at the University of St. Thomas. She was arrested at a hospital in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. She was wanted by the FBI Minneapolis Field Office as an out-of-state fugitive from justice.
The predator is facing charges in connection to an underage sex trafficking operation allegedly led by a Republican strategist He was arrested separately last week.
Both are scheduled to make appearances in federal court on Monday.
"We as an organization are absolutely disgusted by the actions of Ms. Medina, and have cut all ties with her effective immediately," Minnesota College Republicans said. "Our prayers go out to the victims – we believe you. We stand with you. May justice be served."
The woman recently assumed the role of chair at the University of St. Thomas’ chapter and she "was not an active member nor had she begun working in an official capacity on behalf of the Minnesota College Republicans," the organization said in a statement.
From May 2020 through December 2020, the former GOP strategist allegedly conspired with others to recruit and solicit six minor victims to engage in commercial sex acts, according to an indictment filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. It’s unclear whether the woman was charged as his co-conspirator, whose name was redacted in court documents.
The predator has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors, five counts of sex trafficking of minors, one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor, and three counts of obstruction. His defense attorney, Zachary Newland, said the predator denies the charges, adding to the Minneapolis Star Tribune that, "It is always unfortunate when the federal government abuses its power."
For clarification, for the past year campuses have been shut down and/or operating at a limited capacity as a result of the pandemic. Additionally, the 2021-2022 school year has yet to start. All chapters are currently inactive.
Minnesota GOP Chairwoman Karen Carnahan also reacted to the predators' arrests.
"The arrest and charges involving Ms. Gisela Castro Medina, in conjunction with Thursday's arrest and sex trafficking charges of Mr. Anton Lazzaro, are heinous and disturbing. Conviction of these charges warrants punishment to the fullest extent of the law and we fully anticipate justice will be served.
"While we work for the same cause, the Republican Party of Minnesota has no jurisdiction over the Minnesota College Republicans, including the chapter at the University of St. Thomas. Minnesota CR chapters are independently run organizations," Carnahan said, according to Fox 9 Minneapolis. "We stand with victims of sex trafficking and encourage anyone with information to contact the FBI Minneapolis Division at 763-569-8000."
This comes after four state GOP House lawmakers sent a letter last week calling for Carnahan’s resignation, arguing there is a deep rooted conflict of interest because he was her close, personal friend, and the Minnesota Republican Party must move forward with an independent audit into donations handled by the sexual predators or any PAC with which he is affiliated in order to restore public trust.
"We have an elected leader with toxic conflicts of interest surrounding herself with a board that fails to act. Chair Carnahan needs to resign," the letter, signed by Republican state Reps. Karen Drazkowski, Karen Miller, Karen Bahr and Karen Munson, said. "There are simply too many questions about actions taken under watch as the leader. Answers will only be trusted if there is no conflict of interest by those leading, investigating and reporting."
"The news of a close, personal friend and advisor to our state party chair being indicted and arrested for heinous crimes against children doesn’t just look bad. It is bad," the letter continued. "It affects members, volunteers, and donor’s ability to trust the integrity of our organization."
Rep. Karen Hagedorn (R-MN), who is married to Carnahan, as well as other GOP politicians in Minnesota who accepted campaign contributions from the sexual predators in the past, have vowed to donate those contributions to various charities serving women and victims of sex-trafficking or domestic abuse, the Star Tribune reported.
Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party Chair Ken Martin said the overall total GOP take from one of the predators amounted to more than $150,000.

Andre Romelle Young known as Dr. Dre is one of the richest media personalities in the world. He has a net worth of $1 billion. Right now he's facing a nasty divorce from his longtime wife Nicole and is now engaged in a feud with one of his oldest daughters.
LaTanya Young is calling out her father. She believes he is cutting her loose when she's in dire need of help. She is allegedly homeless and living in a car. She has asked friends to create a GoFundMe campaign to help raise funds after Dre reportedly refuse to give her a dime.
Dr. Dre is working on Kanye West's Donda album.
The 38-year old woman has been left with no choice but to appeal to strangers for money.
She is a single mother of four. In her GoFundMe pledge, Young said: "I think GoFundMe campaigns are for people in desperate situations and I'm in a desperate situation. Some people were in awe of what I am going through and asked if I had a GoFundMe. I really don't want to accept any handouts but I appreciate anything that is offered. I have worked all my life and I know how to work for money but I'm in a difficult place right now. I believe in investing in your kids. That's what I want to do for my kids so they are never in a position like I am right now."
Young added that she hasn't given up on seeing her estranged father who she admits haven't seen him in nearly 20 years.
"I know my dad (Dr. Dre) is a busy man but I hope he will see it and reach back out to me on a father-daughter level."
Folks were shocked that Dr. Dre's daughter was reportedly living out of her rental car in Tarzana, California. She is taking odd jobs as a delivery driver for DoorDash and as a warehouse assembler despite her father being a huge celebrity.
LaTanya is the daughter of Dr. Dre and former girlfriend Lisa Johnson. Johnson and Dre split when she was five years old. The family doesn't even have Dr. Dre's number to contact him. She has to communicate with him through his management team.
She has four children, Tatiyana, 17, Rhiana, 14, D'Andre, 9 and Jason III, 4.
Her children are staying with friends and LaTanya refuses to let them suffer her fate.
Dr. Dre's lawyers spoke on the matter. They had a non-disclosure agreement for all members of his family. LaTanya may have violated the NDA when she criticized him publicly.
Dre had helped LaTanya out back in the past but he cut off financial support in January 2020.
Some believe that Dre should help while others say that LaTanya should be able to take care of herself without exploiting her famous father.
