Captain Do Nothing buys a prop to complain about government spending. |
First African American woman to be the First Lady of the United States. Honored by a rails to trails in Georgia because of her love for Americans to get fit and healthy.
Cue the noise from Republicans and the far right!
Bullshit's afoot.
The Republicans are pissed that the government is open. They wanted to shut the government down because they were upset over earmarks and funding to the Ukrainian military. They felt that keeping the government shut down until they got into power on Jan. 3 would give some bargaining room.
Of course, the president is a Democrat and he would veto anything that goes against his agenda. Hence, the Republicans blaming him for everything happening. They literally are trying to sabotage the president and reclaim power.
In DeKalb County, Georgia, Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) requested $3.6 million in the PATH Trails which included improvements to the Michelle Obama Trail. It was dedicated to the former first lady in 2018.
The far right angry over funding to a bike trail devoted to Michelle Obama. |
The far-right already angry over the Democrats plan to release Washed Up 45's taxes now are outraged over this earmark. They call it "wasteful spending." Yet, they're getting parts of the infrastructure bill that President Joe Biden signed into law in 2021.
Notice that Berry Loudermilk (R-GA), a lawmaker who voted against the infrastructure bill got a portion of it.
Same with Rep. Greg W. Steube (R-FL), Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL), Rep. John Rutherford (R-FL). Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) and Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL). They got some of that major bipartisan bill that was passed in 2021. These asshole did not vote in favor it but sure enough claimed some of the benefits of this bill.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), one of the many worthless senators in modern history does a showboat by showing the bill which is over 4,000 pages. Like most lawmakers, they come up with the ideas with their legislative aides. Their team goes over the bill and the lawmakers will decide whether it's worth voting for. Paul does not read the bill. All he saw was the amount of the bill.

The cart Paul was standing behind contained posters reading "1.7 Trillion of Hazardous Debt," "Beware debt hazard of 1.7 trillion added to the national debt," "Greatest threat to our national security: 1.7 trillion added to the debt."
Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) who also got a portion of the bill is complaining and made a thread that I am not going to waste my time sorting through. He claims that the omnibus bill is "egregious."
Lawmakers in the House and Senate have until the end of the week to pass the legislation that would fund the government through September.
