Not Going Up!

Costco's Kirkland Hot dogs and Soda combo stays the same (for now).

Costco is confirming that their $1.50 hot dog and soda combo will stay the same.

Everything else might go up.

Costco members have gotten a beef hot dog and a Pepsi on their way out after purchasing bulk items from their local store. They had fears that with skyrocketing beef prices, the hot dogs are going to increase.

Costco CFO Richard Galanti was asked whether the retailer would look at increasing the price of its all-beef frank as it aims to deal with tightening margins.

"Some businesses that are doing well with margin ... those things help us be more aggressive in other areas, or, as you mentioned, hold the price on the hot dog and the soda a little longer — forever," he said.

Now other items in the food court have increased. Buying a pizza slice or a chicken bake have went up 20%.

I guess there's an offset to the cost of keeping things the way it is.

Dollar Tree had to break its Everything is a $1 pledge in 2020 during the pandemic. They have now started selling products at $1.25 or higher. They cited inflation, delivery costs and the supply chain. Also keeping good workers is also an issue as well.
