The blast from the past. An iconic sitcom character from the 1990s got his own brand of marijuana brand products. Steve Urkel (played by Jaleel White) and Snoop Dogg release the Purple Urkle.
White who is an actor and director who is known for his role on Family Matters and Sonic the Hedgehog animated series in the DIC franchise has partnered with 710 Labs to create the "ItsPurpl" which features the Purple Urkle.
It was launched in April but now is nationwide as of today.
"The thing that always stood out to me was there no clear brand leader for fire purple weed," says White. "It made no sense to me, that no company of significance had claimed this lane, so why not me?"

710 Labs founder Brad Melshenker met White on flight and the duo connected thanks to their passion for cannabis. I take it he's was a huge fan of Family Matters as well. After all, White saved the show from cancellation.
White was expected to appear in a few episodes in the second season. But he ended up becoming a breakout character and the show became one of the most watched on Fridays on ABC. The show would continues on six more seasons before it was given the boot on CBS.
