This guy named Tom Barrack has a federal sandwich on the platter. He is being indicted by the feds for failing to register as a foreign agent on behalf of the United Arab Emirates.

The private equity investor was arrested along with two other men on charges he was illegally lobbying for Washed Up 45 while he was running for president and serving during his one miserable term.

He will be appearing in federal court in Los Angeles before he will extradited to Brooklyn, New York.

Barrack was part of the 2017 inaugural fund for Washed Up 45.

A resident of Santa Monica, California, he and two others were secretly advancing the interests of the UAE at the direction of senior officials of the country by influencing the foreign policy positions of the inexperienced reality television star turned politician. He was lied to the feds during a June 2019 interview with the feds.

The evidence received from Barrack included thousands of emails, text messages, iCloud records, flight records and social media postings.

The suspect tried to met with senior leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is a close ally of UAE. 

Of course, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Israel have controversial relationships with the United States. The Americans turn their backs while these three nations commit war crimes, human right violations and totalitarian regimes.

Also indicted was Matthew Grimes and UAE resident who is on the run, Rashid Sultan Rashid Al Malik Alshahhi.

In a seven-count grand jury indictment, unsealed in a New York federal court, Barrack, 74, and two others are accused of "acting and conspiring to act as agents" of the UAE between April 2016 and April 2018, but without registering as foreign agents. Barrack was also charged with obstruction of justice and making multiple false statements to federal law enforcement agents.

The trio acted "to advance the interests of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the United States at the direction of senior UAE officials by influencing the foreign policy positions of the campaign of a candidate in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and, subsequently, the foreign policy positions of the U.S. government in the incoming administration, as well as seeking to influence public opinion in favor of UAE interests," the Justice Department said.

Anyone acting on behalf of a foreign government in the U.S. is required by federal law to register as a foreign agent with the Justice Department. Failure to do so constitutes a felony, and as an FBI official said Tuesday, the conduct amounts to "secret attempts" to influence the nation's highest officials.

The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
