Edrick Truitt was pulled over for alleged reckless driving. As he was pulled over, he was confronted by the cop. The cop told him to turn off his vehicle. Truitt said, "What I do wrong?"
The cop said, "He's got a gun!"

He was parked Sunday just after 3am at a closed convenience store. He was waiting to meet up with family before heading home to Jonesboro.
He said he was trying to leave when police cars pulled up, telling everyone to clear the parking lot.
Truitt was blocked in and couldn't move, so he became the focus of the cop's attention.
Truitt seen the videos time and time again where Black men are being shot without prejudice. He didn't want to be a statistic. He filmed the encounter and posted it on social media. It went viral.
Helena-West Helena Police said that the officer's body camera footage is being reviewed. The officer has reportedly received threats following the incident.
Eventually, the officer holsters his sidearm and forcibly removes Truitt from the vehicle.
"He was like, 'That's a failure to comply,' but if I would have complied, I would have got killed," Truitt pointed out to the junk food media.
Although police later found a gun in Truitt’s car, he said it was out of his reach.
"What I did saved my life," Truitt insisted. "That's why I'm here talking to y'all. If not, y'all would be covering a story about how I got shot."
Truitt was arrested and charged with failing to obey a lawful order.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges are misdemeanor and could carry months or at least a year in the iron college.
Truitt has hired a lawyer and is demanding the charges are dropped. The cop who pulled him over isn't name as of yet. But I bet you money he's scrubbing social media right now to keep anything that may be perceived as racist off.

that was registered to him in an open carry state that was not in arms reach as he was trying to cut the car off as the officer is yelling "he has a got" while pointing a gun at him. Also he never denied the fact that he had one.
Mr. Truitt had a permit for his weapon. This was in Arkansas. A recent court case in Arkansas affirmed that loaded firearms are legal to possess in a vehicle. Even a loaded weapon is legal to have in a vehicle in Arkansas. The standard of illegality is if the person with a weapon can be shown to have criminal intent. Mr. Truitt did not have the gun in his hands, and was not threatening the officer which makes possession of the AR-15 in his vehicle completely legal.

As of October 17, 2018, the Arkansas Appeals Court stated in case CR-18-353 Jamie Taff v. State of Arkansas, “Under the clear language of § 5-73-120(a), the possessor of a handgun must have an unlawful intent to employ it as a weapon against a person in order to make that possession a criminal act.”
