The U.S. Dollar (US$) is used in the 50 states, five territories, Ecuador, Panama, the Bahamas, El Salvador, Zimbabwe, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and Palau. It's also accepted in the British Overseas Territories. The British Virgin Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands accept it. They are other countries that accept the currency as well as their own.
American dollars are widely accepted as secondary currency in some countries and is regarded as a top-standard of currency.
Mnuchin pulled the Tubman dollar. He on behalf of Trump. |
Alexander Hamilton graces the $10 dollar bill.
Benjamin Franklin graces the $100 dollar bill.
The only presidents that grace dollars are George Washington ($1), Thomas Jefferson ($2), Abraham Lincoln ($5), Andrew Jackson ($20) and Ulysses S. Grant ($50).
Any currency printed before the $100 is still existent but no longer in circulation.
$500 bills, $1000 bills, $5000 bills, 10,000 bills and $100,000 bills are no longer printed. They ended that around 1969. Some still exist among rare collectors. The 100,000 bill were never in circulation but any prints are removed.
That dickwad Steve Mnuchin put the brakes on the Harriett Tubman monetary. He said that bill won't be unveiled in 2020. The unveiling was timed for the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Munchin said the design process has been delayed and no new imagery will be unveiled until 2028.
Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) slams the decision to keep Tubman off American currency. |
She said that white men weren't the only folks who built this damn country. Matter of fact, white man wasn't the first inhabitants of this land. They claimed the land, eradicated the natives, killed off the animals that originally lived here and wrote sanitized stories about American greatness.
The former Treasury Secretary Jack Lew rolled out Tubman in 2016. He said that the feedback was there and it was a positive step for American women (especially Black women). It was considered a positive
Trump said privately that the decision was "political correctness" and said that she could be better on the rarely used $2 bill. He even has strong admiration for Jackson. Andrew Jackson was considered one of the most controversial presidents of the time. He was the one who invented the America First theme. He ordered the removal of Native Americans from their lands. Corruption, The Trail of Tears and the support of slavery were best remembered about Jackson.
