Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) accused of stealing a plane seat. |
A woman's flight was sidestepped and she vented about it.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) found herself in an unintentional controversy. A white woman complained about United Airlines giving her seat to the lawmaker.
Jackson Lee is a Black lawmaker from Houston.
Let me guess, Simon is seeking attention. Cause someone took a picture of the lawmaker sitting on the United Airlines flight. It had to be her.
Jean-Marie Simon got a $500 perk after she complained that the lawmaker stole her seat. That was not the case.
The flight attendants thought Simon cancelled her boarding pass.
Jackson Lee did pay for the first class seat and was granted the seat.
Simon claimed that she was sent to economy class. The woman went to social media to vent even more about it.

“Since this was not any fault of mine, the way the individual continued to act appeared to be, upon reflection, because I was an African-American woman, seemingly an easy target along with the African-American flight attendant who was very, very nice,” Jackson Lee told the Houston Chronicle. “This saddens me, especially at this time of year given all of the things we have to work on to help people.”
I can tell you that there's two sides to a story.
Guess which one the conservatives are going to believe?
Seriously, a messed up plane seat and a Black woman. That's the perfect formula for white outrage.
