Social media influencer Ashly Robinson was found dead in Zaniabar, Tanzania and her fiancé is under investigation. He's not allowed to leave the country.

Police in Zanzibar investigating the death of social media influencer Ashly Robinson said she killed herself following a "misunderstanding" with her fiancé while they were on vacation.

But her sister is questioning the circumstances around her death, saying Robinson was "happy" and looking forward to the future after recently having celebrated a birthday and her engagement.

"None of this makes sense," Alyssa Endres told NBC News. "That's why we're just so lost. And that's why we just want answers."

Robinson and her fiancé, Joseph McCann, traveled to Zanzibar on April 4, according to a translated video statement from Tanzanian police. They were staying at the Zuri Zanzibar hotel when staff members found her in her room and rushed her to the hospital on April 8.

Robinson died the next day, police said.

The junk food media wants answers. Her fiancé is clamming up.

Robinson, 31, who went by the name Ashlee Jenae on social media, documented part of the trip on Instagram. In an April 3 post, McCann is seen proposing to Robinson as a lion walks away during what appears to be a safari.

"Still taking this in… somewhere in Africa," Robinson captioned the video.

Other photos showed the couple posing for pictures with the animals. Her last post, on April 5, showed her feeding a giraffe while she celebrated her birthday.

"Chapter 31 and I’m exactly where i need to be," she wrote.

While social media posts showed the couple seemingly enjoying their vacation, local police said they got into a dispute that led to their staying in separate rooms. It's not clear what led up to the dispute.

In a translated statement, police said staff members at the Zuri Zanzibar hotel informed them that Robinson and McCann "seemed to not have a good understanding" and that the pair were separated. Robinson remained in their room, and McCann was moved to a different room, police said.

A room service attendant later found Robinson in the room and alerted hotel management. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.

Police called the couple's dispute a "misunderstanding" and said Robinson died by suicide.

A safari ends up with one not returning home.

The hotel said it was "deeply saddened" by what happened.

"Our sincerest thoughts and sympathies go out to the family and loved ones during this painful time. We are providing our full cooperation to the local authorities and the U.S. Embassy," it said in a statement.

Endres said that she spoke to her sister shortly before she died and that "everything was completely normal." The pair discussed what they were going to do when Robinson got back to the U.S.

"She was so ready to take the next steps with who she thought was the love of her life," Endres said. "She was so happy with the choices that she had made and in the places that she was. She was happy."

Endres said the trip to Zanzibar was a planned "dream" vacation for her sister.

Robinson’s mother said the past several days have been overwhelming, and she declined to speak further.

In an statement Sunday on Instagram, the family said that "nothing about this loss feels real."

"The suddenness, the unanswered questions, and the distance from home have made this tragedy even more overwhelming for our family," the statement read.

Police said Robinson's death remains under investigation, and police continue to question McCann. His passport has been suspended, police said.

McCann could not be reached at phone numbers listed for him. Attempts to reach his family were unsuccessful.

Endres said that communication with local police has been sparse but that family will continue fighting to find out what happened.

"She wasn’t just an influencer; she wasn’t just someone online. She was a daughter, she was a sister and she was someone who is so, so loved because of the life that she brought," Endres said. "She was just such a large piece in so many people’s lives, and that’s what I want people to not forget."

While in Los Angeles, rapper/model Ice Spice was assaulted by a woman while eating in a McDonald's.

For a major pop star, she didn't have her security heavily present. She wanted to be like a normal person instead of the baddie from The Bronx.

Isis Gaston, 26 was inside the McDonald's when a woman abruptly came up on her and another woman. The woman tried to strike a conversation which elevated when Ice Spice dismissed her.

Word escalated and soon the woman slapped her.

The confrontation took place on Wednesday, April 15, when, according to security camera footage shared by TMZ, the Bronx rapper was seated with a companion in the establishment when another woman approached them and asked to sit. After her request was denied, an altercation ensued.

Security video footage shows the woman attacking Ice Spice, leading to the confrontation moving to the parking lot, where the rapper allegedly broke a phone owned by a friend of the woman. The altercation reportedly continued until the rapper received additional hits.

The police have been informed of the incident, and Ice Spice’s team confirmed that they’ve filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

“The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD, and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly,” the rapper’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, told TMZ. “We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their lack of appropriate security.”

Cohen noted that he plans on taking legal action against the rapper’s attacker, adding that a potential lawsuit could be brought against the establishment for failing to provide adequate security services.

The allegations raised by the rapper’s representative may lead to legal claims against the establishment, as they would suggest that adequate security precautions were not in place.

According to the unnamed assailant, who called herself Vayah, she attempted to approach Ice Spice to introduce herself and offer compliments. Still, the rapper reportedly reacted negatively to the gesture, prompting her to question the rapper’s attitude.

“Immediately, Ice Spice was being rude. She was like, ‘Why are you over here? You can leave, bye,” Vayah told TMZ, saying that she had asked her where she came from and why she spoke that way.

She added that tensions escalated after the rapper allegedly insulted her, leading to her slapping her face. Later, the woman said she was confronted again in the parking lot, where she claimed Ice Spice broke her friend’s screen.

First things first, Ice Spice is a person too. She deserves the right to enjoy food in peace. 

When she is a celebrity, she would engage with fans and paparazzi. When she is Isis Gaston, she want to live the life as a woman who wants to have a McDonald's meal.

That Vayah lady is cap and full of shit. 

If the LAPD does pursue charges, it would be misdemeanor battery and trespassing.

Ice Spice might have to improve her security detail to prevent further engagements that happen when she is in the public.

An American YouTuber who sparked national outrage in South Korea for provocative stunts, including dancing on a statue honoring victims of wartime sexual slavery, was sentenced to six months in prison Wednesday.

The Seoul Western District Court found Ramsey Khalid Ismael, a self-proclaimed internet “troll” known online as Johnny Somali, guilty of multiple charges, including obstruction of business and distributing fabricated sexually explicit content.

Prosecutors had sought a three-year term for Ismael, who also faced accusations of harassing staff and visitors at an amusement park, disrupting a convenience store by blasting music and upending noodles onto a table, causing similar scenes on a bus and subway, and distributing non-consensual deepfake videos.

The court said the 25-year-old displayed “severe” disrespect for South Korean law, noting that he offended countless people with livestreamed stunts aimed at generating YouTube revenue. The court ordered his immediate detention following the verdict, citing him as a flight risk.

In October 2024, Somali sparked public outrage in South Korea after posting a video of himself kissing and performing a lap dance on a statue commemorating victims of the Japanese military’s sexual slavery during World War II. He later apologized, claiming he was unaware of the monument’s significance.

Ismael, who was barred from leaving the country pending his trial, earlier told local reporters that he regretted his actions and wished to apologize to the South Korean public.

In 2022, he was filmed in a road rage incident between a Black woman and a teenager.

He was screaming racial slurs and threatening to shoot the woman driving. They filmed it and the Clarksville Police would arrest him. He ended up going to county lock up and losing his job.

He tried to become an independent contractor but they said uncertified. He could not do his job without certification. He blames the viral video for his demise.

So he develops this anger towards the Black community for stopping free speech. Now he develops the Chud The Builder persona. His rise to infamy was his interaction with a Kroger employee and his friend over a parking space.

Now he has been banned from numerous facilities in Clarksville. The police warned him that if continues to harass residents, he will get a longer stay in county lockup.

I am going to say this to those who are trying to deal with a second chaotic Trump presidency. Let these motherfuckers cook in their own filth. Don't shed tears or send sympathy towards them if divine intervention happens.

As long as these people never put their hands on me, I am going to continue to go about my day while they are burning themselves out. Because he may even have a few supporters riding his bullshit, but at the end of the day, he will struggle like the rest of us.

His rhetoric was divisive towards Black people. He said things about Black women which made it nearly impossible for some sympathy. 

Like I said, his children will take the most blow. Having their father gone is heartbreaking. But to see Erika Kirk confirm the movement continues show no foot off the gas when it comes to political violence.

Erika makes it very hard for people to even show remorse towards her. She is a widow and now has to raise her children by herself. She might find love in the future, but the shock of losing Charlie in such a way has traumatized her.

Or they want to make memes of bearded men expressing their freedoms to wear a dress, heels or makeup.

They certainly love to attack transgender women for looking way better than the women they try to well.... in Trump’s word "pull up to and grab 'em by the...."

Or a meme where a picture of a turban wearing individual posing with a gun or a depiction of an Arab with the decapitated head of a white person.

Republicans, libertarians and conservatives have always been like this. It was never a closed door or a private chat.

They referred to Black people as monkeys and “the watermelon people” and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

People, please do not resort to the levels of those who profit off the anger. The anger of right wing Americans in the wake of white nationalist Charlie Kirk's death has sparked a censorship and harassment campaign.

The right wing ain't got the smoke for the shooter, his family and the Utah state government allowing open carry on school campuses. They ain't got the smoke for the people who advocate violence against people perceived as threats to society.

All the while, the rich are getting richer. Israel is still committing a genocide and war crimes from every angle. Russia is pushing further in Ukraine with Lithuania and Poland next on the country's agenda. The cost of living is increasing.

Inflation has rising this month.

Unemployment is increasing.

Gasoline prices are increasing.

Wages are stagnant.

Jobs are not satisfying.

Let me be clear: I do not condone violence towards to politicians, media personalities, animals and property. I am not condemning things any longer. I am getting tired of putting empathy on antipathy.

Keep the Black community out of it. 

1 in 5 Americans believe violence is the only way to solve political problems. Trust me, it is a coming. There is a reckoning with the status quo thanks to Trump.
